How to make a roof from plastic bottles. DIY plastic bottle gazebo

What applications do not find plastic bottles in the hands of craftsmen! They make complex decorations for the garden - vases, palms, gazebos. This material is also used to create simple scoops, as well as in jewelry. But one of the more interesting areas is the use of plastic bottles as roofing material. It is quite possible to build such a roof with your own hands.

The roof of their bottle plastic has a whole host of advantages.

It is worth noting the advantages that distinguish plastic bottles:

  1. Low cost. It is possible to purchase empty plastic bottles from manufacturers, but an even cheaper option would be to use already used containers. Such materials can be asked to leave for you, for example, in a cafe or with friends. This will help to reduce the cost of building materials.
  2. Durability. Plastic bottles are able to withstand heavy loads and mechanical shock.
  3. Reusable.
  4. Ease of use during construction work.
  5. Durability. It is worth noting that, unlike other building materials, plastic bottles have a longer service life - about three hundred years. This is many times higher than the characteristics of existing analogues.

Instructions for installing a roof from plastic bottles

There are several options for creating a roof structure using plastic bottles. It is only worth noting that it is better for work if all the material is of the same size..

Material preparation

  1. Using a knife, it is necessary to cut off the bottom and necks from the bottles to get an element that looks like a tube.
  2. The resulting part should be cut. This must be done so that as a result, sheets are obtained that have a size of about 25x30 centimeters.

Method one

  1. The resulting sheets must be straightened. This can be done using hot water, or you can stack all the sheets in a pile, placing them under a press or under a carpet. Another option is to use an iron.

It is necessary to use a not very hot iron, and it is better to iron the plastic sheets through the paper.

  1. When all the sheets are straightened, you can proceed to the process of bonding them together. To do this, you can use glue based on dichloroethane. Such a fastener will allow you to create a high-quality connection, and working with it is quite simple. The adhesive will melt the plastic pieces, allowing them to be held together.
  2. The connection of the prepared elements can also be ensured with a hot iron, melting the workpieces through thick paper.
  3. After you have prepared several sheets of the desired size, proceed to stapling them with a stapler. Do this on a wood frame, which must be prepared in advance.
  4. This wooden frame will be the base of the roof. To create such a design, you can use plastic bottles that have different shades. Collecting colored mosaics from pieces will make the roof more interesting.

Method two

  1. This option involves the use of plastic tubes cut in half. The product does not need to be straightened. You will need twisted elements that need to be folded in half. In this case, if we untwist the semicircle back, we get an even designation of the place of the fold.
  2. After the work done, you should get an element that looks like two slides.
  3. Next, you need to do the same with the second sheet. It is placed on top of the starting element. This must be done in such a way that the final design resembles three slides.
  4. After adding the third sheet in the same way, you should get one more slide, that is, four. In this way, the entire roof structure is filled.
  5. The elements are fastened along the edge. The work is carried out with a stapler.
  6. This method of making a roof from plastic bottles resembles a tiled roof in appearance.
  7. Installation is done in strips. After installing one, proceed to the other. The second strip must be attached to the first overlap, placing it slightly higher.
  8. The finished strips of plastic construction are fixed on the roof, starting from the bottom and moving upward - from the edge of the eaves to the ridge.
  9. In this case, the ridge of the roof from plastic bottles is made in the same way, preparing the elements and fixing them at the top.
  10. Laying the top layer of plastic products is carried out in different ways, in contrast to the slope of the roof:
  • with a sloping roof, the last layer of homemade tiles is fastened in such a way that the upper parts go onto the wall, protecting the joint between the wall and the roof;
  • if the roof has two or more slopes, then it will be necessary to close the joints of the slopes with an additional row of parts, fixing them at both ends of different planes of the gazebo roof.
  • Roofing is best done with a slope to allow water to drain from the plastic sheeting.
  • When straightening the elements under hot water, it is necessary to immerse the product in liquid for three to five minutes, and then put it under a press for one or two days.
  • Installation work is carried out using a construction stapler. But a better way will be to use an awl and a nylon or cordon thread. This mounting option will provide a longer roof life, adding additional resistance to wind loads.
  • It is convenient to lay the plastic coating on plywood sheets, fixing the structure with self-tapping screws.
  • To prevent the formation of leaks of plastic roofing material, it is necessary to use rubber gaskets.

Many different materials are currently used to make fences and hedges. Periodically, new ones appear on the construction markets. The main disadvantage of many of them is their significant cost. At the same time, there is a material, fences from which have the lowest cost price. We are talking about plastic bottles. The types of fences from them, the intricacies of the process of their self-installation will be discussed in the future.

The first way to use PET bottles for fencing is to use a part of their body. For work, you need to stock up on a sufficient amount of this waste material and a sharp knife.

The first stage of work t - removal of the neck and bottom of the bottles. A simple template in the form of a sheet of thick paper or thin cardboard will help for this.

Using a sharp knife, such as a clerical knife, carefully separate the unnecessary parts of the bottles. They can be used in the future, for example, to decorate the territory of a summer cottage.

Gently fold the resulting plastic cylinders in half to obtain cutting lines. Next, we cut each available part into two equal parts, trying to maintain their natural radial bend.

Next stage- assembly of the fence. In order to get an imitation of slate, we will connect the halves of the bottle body, alternating convex and concave parts. The assembly process is carried out using a stationery or construction stapler. If it is not there, then we drive the staples on a soft wooden plate so that they can be easily removed and bent from the back side.

By connecting the halves one by one, we get the canvases of the required size, which we attach to the posts or rafters using the same stapler, getting an interesting coating option at the lowest price.

Decorative greenhouse made of plastic bottles

The second option for making a fence will require less additional preparatory work. To install it, you just need to cut off the bottoms of the bottles. The basis of the structure will be thin round or square wooden slats, the length of which will be equal to the height of the future fence.

In order to get a fence, string a sufficient number of parts onto the prepared rods so that the lower cut part fits tightly onto the upper conical one. We fasten the PET picket fence prepared in this way with nails to the poles, placing it as tightly as possible.

To create a decorative effect, you can use bottles made of colored polyethylene, alternating them, for example, in a checkerboard pattern.

Weaving a fence from a plastic tape

The third possible option for the manufacture of fencing using PET bottles is to make wide strips from their body and connect them to each other. Currently, the vastness of the Internet contains several fairly easy-to-manufacture devices for cutting polyethylene strips. Moreover, their width can vary from a few millimeters to several centimeters. Let's talk about the installation of a fence made of tapes.

The plastic strips obtained with the help of the device or cut out with ordinary scissors can be connected in several available ways. The first is welding. For these purposes, you can use an ordinary soldering iron.

Thanks to the fast melting, the individual strips are quickly welded at the point of contact with the tip of the heating tool. The second also quite affordable and inexpensive way is to connect plastic tapes with a stationery stapler. At the same time, at the request of users, you can get cells both square and triangular or diamond-shaped.

To give the fence a geometrically correct shape, it is better to use templates made of plywood or wood. The assembly process can be carried out directly at the installation site of the fence, or individual sections can be made at home and fixed in one or another part of the site.

DIY decorative fences made of plastic bottles

In the absence of a sufficient amount of free time, it is possible to make a fence from whole plastic bottles without their preliminary processing. In this case, it is better to assemble the sections of the fence using glue and self-tapping screws. Connect the bottle caps and finished bottles in pairs, placing them with their bottoms to each other. After hardening, collect the desired amount of plastic products into vertical elements, which are attached to the fence slats.

With this manufacturing method, the distance between them must strictly correspond to the length of the "picket fence".

Another option for using whole bottles to make a fence involves dividing individual rows with longitudinal strips, which help to increase the strength of the structure.

This method allows the use of self-tapping screws for assembly, with which the bottles are screwed through the bottoms and caps.

The last option for using a whole PET container when installing a fence is based on the use of a strong steel or aluminum wire as the basis of the structure, stretched between the posts.

To install the bottles in the center of the bottom and lid, it is enough to drill holes, the diameter of which is equal to the diameter of the wire.

Regardless of the option for making fences based on waste PET containers, the product you receive will be the embodiment of your personality, and will save a sufficient amount of money.

Dear readers, if you have any questions, ask them using the form below. We will be glad to communicate with you;)

A plastic bottle is an inconspicuous thing in everyday life. Once it was appreciated in everyday life - the older generation put up the scarce container in reserve, and then used it for trips to get milk or storing compote. Times have changed, PVC bottles are full, people do not have time to throw them away. And many have already seriously thought about what to do with so many unnecessary containers - after all, as you know, plastic decomposes for about 100 years.

Little by little, their use began to be found. Almost everyone has a bird feeder from a plastic bottle on the balcony or a transparent homemade "lampshade" in the garage. There were many ideas for the recycling of unnecessary containers. People have adapted to making any crafts from plastic bottles - both purely practical and extremely decorative.

Thrifty gardeners

A common problem for many summer residents is the construction of a house and outbuildings on a small garden plot with limited funds. Moreover, the seasonal operation of such a house does not require the construction of serious capital structures. Enterprising gardeners solved the problem with a typical Russian ingenuity - they took the most ordinary PVC bottle and looked at it as an original, affordable, easy-to-handle and practically free building material.

What is not done for the garden from plastic bottles - these, at first glance, useless containers! Real walls of houses, greenhouses, gazebos are being erected. The masonry technology is quite traditional - using cement mortar. But the brick is being replaced by a plastic bottle filled with sand. It turns out an original building in an unusual style.

Country house

Although there is nothing complicated in its construction from PVC containers, some nuances must still be taken into account. It is better to lay the rows of masonry with a wire reinforcing mesh to improve the adhesion of the mortar to the smooth plastic of the bottle. For the same purpose, make small holes in the container - the solution will get in contact with the sand inside, which will increase the strength of the masonry.

In the process of work, be sure to fix the bottles with wire or rope, otherwise the rows will part. Do not forget that plastic does not tolerate heat and frost, and in five years the house will have to be restored. However, taking into account the availability of material and the ease of construction, such an economy house can be "updated" more often.

The cylindrical shape is conducive to the construction of round houses and gazebos. You can also make a roof from them. How is it? Here are two interesting ideas.

Plastic roof tiles

Expensive shingles can be replaced with homemade ones made from plastic bottles.

A large number of them should be carefully compressed. If you do this without heating, the container will simply crack. Spread the bottles in the sun, then flatten.

The resulting PVC modules are attached to the frame in several layers with self-tapping screws. The roof of such a tile can be absolutely any shape, including a cone-shaped one - for example, for a bathhouse or a gazebo.

Plastic slate

Another option for a product from plastic bottles for a homemade roof is a slate sheet.

Cut off the neck and bottom from the container. Cut the remaining cylindrical part of the bottle in half lengthwise, connect the resulting semicircular elements with PVC glue into a wavy surface.

An already existing building (or one built of bricks, wood, etc.) can be decorated along the facade with original decor made of corks from PVC bottles. With a large number of them, it is easy to come up with a floral pattern, geometric ornament or "cartoon" drawing.

Gazebos and greenhouses

A greenhouse made of plastic bottles is one of the most rational solutions. Traditional polycarbonate is quite expensive, but in fact it is the same material. Transparent bottles are perfectly capable of refracting sunlight and performing the same tasks as laminated plastic or glass.

In addition, if you are bored with the traditional rectangular shape, a greenhouse made of plastic bottles can be made in the form of a hemisphere using a metal frame. Having built it, take a drill, hammer with nails or a red-hot knitting needle and make holes in the bottoms of the bottles. Then string the plastic vessels on a wire or fishing line slightly longer than the planned height of the building.

Pull the resulting "garlands" and attach to the frame - get the walls. For stability, you can fix the bottles in the transverse direction, tying each row with wire. If at the same time you take multi-colored containers, you will get an original ornament.

Gates, fences and barriers

What else useful can you make from plastic bottles for a summer residence?

You will save a lot of money by arranging a site fencing out of them. The principle of use is the same. Fill the space between the posts with plastic containers. A little creativity - and an extravagant border will not only protect, but also decorate your property.

Flowers from plastic bottles of different shades will add originality to such a fence.

Carport

A common problem is the lack of space on the site for parking a car. A full-fledged garage is long and expensive to build, and the car often stays for days on end under the scorching sun, rain and winds.

The same plastic bottles will help to save the iron friend. You can experiment with them endlessly, replacing the spoiled ones with new ones. A canopy of them for a car is not only functional, but also gives originality to the landscape.

Such a canopy is made similarly to a greenhouse. Bottles with puncture holes are threaded on wire and secured in rows. Then a couple of holes are made in them (on the sides) and a transverse "stitching" is pulled through them. As a result, we have a flexible and movable "bottle fabric" of the size we need, which remains to be fixed on the frame.

solar collector

Products made from plastic bottles can be complex designs using engineering ideas.

If there is no central water supply and boiler at the dacha, and you want to wash at the end of a working day not with ice, but with warm water, we suggest making an outdoor shower with a solar collector from the same bottles. Its principle of operation is the movement of hot (denser) water upward, cold (less dense) - downward. For bathing 1 person, one square meter of such a solar panel is enough.

The panel, assembled from plastic bottles, receives cold water from the tank, and gets back already warmed up. You will need about 60 two-liter bottles, pipes, tees and a PVC corner, black paint.

The bottom of the bottles is cut off and inserted into one another. The frame is assembled from PVC pipes using tees, plastic is underlain under the bottles, painted black to increase heat absorption. You can take milk bags.

The bottle panels are located on the south side of the roof below the water tank. It is advisable to replace them every few years, since the plastic becomes opaque and loses the desired properties.

Another energy-saving idea is to illuminate a windowless room on a bright sunny day. To do this, it is enough to hermetically insert a plastic bottle with water into the roof, which refracts the sun's rays and illuminates the room.

Watering plants

From buildings, we move on to growing vegetables and flowers. And here products from plastic bottles will serve us. It is convenient to grow seedlings in our favorite container by cutting a hole and filling in the soil. Do not forget about drainage. Containers for plants can be painted with stained glass paints or pasted over with corks.

With a small size of the site, vertical gardening can be organized. Plastic containers are hung on a line along the wall. You will immediately save space and decorate an expressionless surface.

By making a lot of pin holes in the bottle, you get a drip irrigation device. You can also poke miniature holes in the bottom of the bottle and attach the bottle to the hose - the tool is ready. And if you install such a homemade water spray on a platform with wheels from an old toy car (or a frame from a baby carriage), you can move it around the entire territory. In this case, drip irrigation from a plastic bottle will make life much easier for an inventive gardener.

Garden and country furniture

Items of furniture transported to the dacha quickly lose their appearance due to constant dampness. You can avoid problems by making practical and easy-care furniture from plastic bottles with your own hands.

The table and chairs are lightweight and require little skill. An ottoman of a round or square shape will be obtained from bottles placed close to each other, wrapped in a sheet of foam rubber and covered with an inexpensive practical fabric. The chair is made according to the same principle, but using a metal frame.

Garden Lights

You can also save money on lighting fixtures for the garden. We take a colored plastic canister, cut off the neck, insert a light bulb into the socket inside. The lamp is ready!

The design is more complicated, created by heating and deformation of bottle plastic, melting the edges and painting. Such original lamps will serve as an excellent replacement for factory ones, they will decorate both the house and the plot. Moreover, candles, including decorative ones, can also serve as a light source.

Landscape decor

Making decorations for the garden, they use everything - the whole bottles, separately the neck, bottom and middle part, as well as cut out details. A special article is traffic jams. The decor for the garden comes out of them original and expressive - paths, walls of the house and the plane of the fence.

Decorations in the form of volumetric or flat figurines of animals or plants that imitate real ones amaze with their originality. And the plastic bottle feeder is just a classic of the genre.

The flowerbeds can be divided by multi-colored paths from them, such a "cut" will add completeness to the flower garden. Bury small bottles upside down along the contour of the flower garden. Pick them in the same or contrasting colors. Birds from plastic bottles can both feed and drink. Do you want to constantly enjoy the twittering of birds? Hang painted drinkers and feeders cut from the same container and painted on the trees.

Garden sculptures from a variety of materials are now extremely popular. A swan made of milky white plastic bottles with a gracefully curved neck can turn out to be not only an ornament, but also a mini-flower bed. Sometimes there is a real flower garden between its wings. Several of these islets, flower beds, will miraculously transform any garden. And such a swan is made from plastic bottles quickly and easily. And if there is no opaque white plastic at hand, acrylic paints will come to the rescue.

A little more complicated in making a peacock from plastic bottles. Here you will have to tinker, cutting the fluffy fringe for the tail. But the result is worth it. A peacock made from plastic bottles can become a real work of art; it is not a shame to place such a sculpture in the most conspicuous place.

Garden paths

Laying them is always a difficult and costly question. A temporary solution would be to fill the paths on the site with cement mortar (a thin layer) and immerse the plastic covers tightly to each other. You can lay out a variety of ornaments and even inscriptions.

Outdoor washbasin

We hang a bottle with a cut-off bottom, filled with water, with a cork down on a post or tree. If you need to wash your hands, unscrew the lid slightly, and water begins to pour.

Another option is to hang the whole bottle with the cork up, holes are made in the bottom. Twist the plug slightly, air gets inside, and water flows.

An outdoor shower is arranged according to the same principle, only a container will need a much larger size.

Volumetric sculptures

The creation of decorative installations is now fashionable direction of garden and landscape design. Of what such sculptures are not made! And plastic bottles are no exception.

This kind of work will take a lot of patience and some skill. For a start, you can try to make a Christmas tree out of bottles - according to the principle of "sleigh in summer". If you come to celebrate the New Year at the dacha, and there are no coniferous forests nearby, a plastic tree will be very useful.

The design is based on a rigid rod: bottles are either simply suspended to it, or put on a wire and wrapped in a garland in several tiers. With the help of auxiliary supports, the tree can be shaped into a tent. Moreover, the tree does not have to be classic green - a variety of bottles are suitable. They can be cut, melted, deformed, cut into thin strips, imitating fluffy needles, and also painted in the most unusual colors.

Decorative garlands and miniature decorations will come out of the lids. And the Christmas tree itself does not have to be disassembled for the summer - having a conical shape and a solid size, it will serve as a gazebo for children to play.

A miniature Christmas tree will be made from green sprite bottles. It is enough to cut their curved walls with "noodles" and stick them on the base frame.

Country interior

The interior of the country house can be diversified with the same bottles. What can you think of here? Anything! Screens, partitions, decorative panels and even curtains - products from plastic bottles exist in a mass of options. You will enjoy the results of your own creative work and acquire an exclusive item that no one else has.

Air screens dividing the space are made by cutting off transparent bottle bottoms, connecting them into garlands with fishing line or wire, and hanging them in the opening. A multi-colored curtain-curtain with an original pattern is assembled from the same covers.

Playground in the country

The area for children's games will help to separate bright fences from bottles. It is possible to designate mini-golf courses, build sandpits, swings and even fabulous houses. You can make a soccer goal or a maze for toddlers.

If there is a reservoir near the garden plot, rest on the shore can be perfectly varied. It is enough to make at least the simplest craft. To get to a deserted island, go fishing, or just ride along the coast - all this will become possible thanks to the same universal irreplaceable PVC bottles!

A boat made of bottles

You can restrict yourself to a small narrow boat like Indian pies, which can fit one or two. And you can "swing" and a serious boat for three or four passengers. The easiest to make is a rectangular raft, from which you can fish not far from the coast. It will turn out to be quite stable and reliable.

If you are planning a boat in the shape of a kayak, insert bottles with a cut-off bottom into one another, you get a kind of long pipe. Reinforce the joints with wide furniture tape, which is not afraid of water. Assemble the bottom and sides from separate pipes using the same adhesive tape, give the structure a wedge-shaped shape. In this case, it is necessary to observe the ratio of the width and height of the vessel.

The design is more complicated - a boat. The bottles, standing upright, are connected in two rows and the bodies are sealed with bags. You can even install a small motor on such a boat.

Palm tree from a plastic bottle

All plastic trees and shrubs are made according to the same principle. You will need the bottles themselves, wire, scissors, paint for plastic. For a palm tree, their middle and lower parts of dark shades are suitable. Of the others - greenish - we will make foliage.

The bottom of each bottle is cut off, another one is inserted into it, and continues to the desired height. Inside, a wire is pulled in the center. A green bottle neck without a bottom is attached on top. Then you need to cut a lot of "fringes" of green plastic strips and glue them with lush branches hanging down.

It is better if a palm tree from a plastic bottle is not alone in the garden. An island of them will become an original decoration of any garden in winter and summer. Plastic is a fairly cold and rain resistant material. Remember to reflow the bottle cuts for safety.

Children will take part in such work with great interest. This is a great way to keep the little ones entertained and give them the opportunity to show diligence and imagination.

Butterfly for garden decor

Motley butterflies are an original decoration of any summer cottage, for example, a garden gazebo. To do this, cut out the middle of the bottle of any color. Then we prepare a cardboard pattern in the form of butterfly wings. We cut out the plastic according to the attached template, attach the wire on the fold line.

Decorate a homemade butterfly with any beads, paint the wings with acrylics. The color palette should be matched to the gazebo.

Small butterflies from bottles can serve as original hairpins, you can also pin them on curtains or magnet them on the refrigerator. The smallest crafts made from plastic bottles are bracelets and other original jewelry items.

Vases from plastic bottles

They can be both desktop and hanging. From one bottle, cut in half in height, you can get a cylindrical pot (from the bottom) and a cone-shaped planter from the top.

You can decorate vases from plastic bottles with anything - cloth, yarn, corrugated paper, etc. The plastic is slightly heated, it is given a wide variety of shapes. The edge can be easily shaped with hot, sharp scissors.

Plastic chamomile

It is very easy to make it from a white bottle or ordinary transparent, colored white paint. Prepare more containers, let the flowers be large and expressive, with the length of the petals as high as the bottle.

To maintain the even and beautiful shape of our flower, it is better to make a paper pattern in the form of a circle of small diameter with petals. We give the petals a rounded shape, pierce a hole with an awl in the center of the workpiece. A beautiful bend of the petals can be achieved by heating them with a candle flame.

We make the core from a yellow bottle or a colored transparent one. Cut out the petals and sepals from the green one, give the desired shape by heating. We connect all elements with wire. In the same way, any flowers are created from plastic bottles, but containers of various shades or paints are required.

Plastic animals

Making them is easier than it sounds. For example, the body of a plastic pig is easy to make from a five-liter canister. The ears and legs of the animal are cut out of ordinary small bottles. After the completion of all work, the structure is painted with bright pink acrylic and installed in a conspicuous place.

A rattle for a baby, as well as a piggy bank, is done this way - in six one and a half or two-liter bottles, the tops are cut off exactly so that, by combining them, you get the right ball. Stick together. The necks can be varied with corks of different colors.

The item can be used as a piggy bank, or as a rattle. Pour buttons or beads inside, tighten the lids tightly, after having greased the threads with glue - so that the baby does not disassemble.

Cars and other toys

Kindergarteners can also cope with such crafts. We put bottles of any size horizontally, glue the legs, ears, tail. Eyes and mouth can be drawn or made of paper applique. If you have to make not a small animal, but a machine, then the same corks or cardboard circles will serve as wheels.

Birds from plastic bottles are created a little more difficult, here you need to cut and glue the "wings". But the effect can be great, especially if you work hard on the "feathers".

And dolls from plastic bottles are just wonderful! The face is drawn or pasted on, the hair is made of thread, the clothes are any unnecessary piece of cloth.

Slippers from bottles

They will come in handy in rainy weather in the garden, they will help protect your shoes from dirt. Take a couple of identical bottles, a small one for a baby, a larger one for an adult. We get shoes with a closed toe by cutting off the middle part and the bottom to half, slippers - cutting one bottle lengthwise and securing a plastic strip on top with glue or threads.

Plastic bottle broom

An excellent and very useful thing! How to do it? We cut several bottles into small strips and fix them on a wooden or metal holder. The sturdy and tough yard broom is ready!

Included with it, you can also make a scoop in the same design - cut off the bottom and half of the side of the other bottle to the middle, fix it on the handle.

We hope that now you will agree: plastic containers are a wonderful material for making a huge variety of useful and decorative crafts. Include creativity. And good luck to you!

We offer you several roof options made of used PVC containers: Plastic tiles. For the manufacture of this simple roofing, it is necessary to compress plastic bottles.

If this process is carried out without lightly heating the plastic, then the container will simply crack, so the easiest way is to put the raw material in the sun, and then flatten the containers. Installation of PVC modules is carried out with ordinary self-tapping screws to the frame with laying the material in several layers. From such a tile, you can easily form a cone-shaped roof for a gazebo or a bath.

Plastic slate. From the cylindrical part of a plastic bottle, it is quite easy to make something like a slate roof covering. To do this, it is necessary to cut off the bottom and neck from the container, cut the middle part of the container lengthwise and in half, connect the formed PVC elements with glue, forming a wavy surface

In order to make a tile from plastic, it is necessary to cut off the bottom and neck of the plastic bottles, and cut the resulting plastic ring in half.

To straighten the pieces of plastic, immerse it briefly in hot water - never in boiling water. After that, you need to place the "tile" under oppression for a day or two.

The finished parts of homemade roofing material are laid, starting from the edges of the roof and up, with an overlap. They are attached to a wooden crate with self-tapping screws, and it is imperative to use rubber gaskets to prevent damage to the "tiles".

The last, top layer of homemade roofing material is laid as follows:

· If the roof is sloping, then the last layer of shingles is fixed so that the upper parts go onto the wall, protecting the joint between the wall and the roof;

If the roof is two or more pitched, then it is necessary to close the junction of the slopes with a number of parts, fixing them at both ends of different planes of the gazebo roof.

Now there is a lot of talk about environmental protection, waste disposal, but only a few are really concerned about these problems. Many people simply do not pay attention to the attempts of the "greens" to remake the world, because at the moment it does not concern them personally.

However, not everyone knows that some of the waste, which we successfully dump in tons to landfills, could well be useful to us ourselves.

One of these wonderful materials is an ordinary plastic bottle. Craftsmen have invented hundreds of ways to use bottles, but one of the most interesting is the roof made of plastic bottles. Thus, you can significantly save on the purchase of building materials. In short, a great roof, practically lying under your feet.

Consider several ways to make a roof from plastic bottles. It is advisable to select bottles of the same size, but this is not a prerequisite.
To begin with, we take a knife, and cuts off the bottom and neck of the bottle - a tube is obtained. She also cuts it in such a way that a sheet of about 25x30 would be obtained. Then we can go in two ways.

1. We straighten this sheet, either under hot water, or by stroking it with a not very hot iron through the paper. You can also stack the sheets and put them under the press, under the carpet. After the sheets are straightened, they need to be fastened together, for example, with glue based on dichloroethane. It perfectly melts plastic and therefore connects these parts together.

You can also simply melt them with a hot iron through thick paper. When you have several sheets of the desired size, they need to be attached with a stapler to a previously prepared wooden frame. This will be the roof. You can take bottles of different colors and connect the pieces like a mosaic.

2. After the plastic tube has been cut, the sheet is still twisted, it must be folded in half, as if unrolling back and well mark the place of the fold. As a result of this action, we will get a detail that will resemble two slides.

We take the second sheet and fold it in the same way. Then we have to put the second on top of the first sheet in such a way that we get three slides, when we add the third sheet, we get four, and so on. Fasten the details along the edge to each other with a stapler.

If you look closely, you end up with plastic bottle shingles. When one strip is ready, proceed to the manufacture of the second, which then attach above the first with an overlap.

Begin to attach the finished strips to the roof from the bottom up, that is, starting from the edge of the roof to the ridge. It can also be made from bottles, which are also prepared and secured at the top.

Paradoxical as it may sound, the plastic for the roof is literally lying under our feet. And these are ordinary used plastic bottles. It turns out that they make a wonderful plastic roof. Thus, we solve two problems at once: we save our money and we solve the problem of recycling plastic bottles.

· You will need plastic bottles of approximately the same size. They need to cut off the neck and bottom so that a tube is obtained.

· Then you need to cut it lengthwise.

Thus, we have a rectangular piece of plastic with a size of approximately 30X25 cm.

There are several ways to make a roof from used plastic bottles:

First you need to straighten the resulting piece of twisted plastic. To do this, you can use hot water, a press, or a not very hot iron (iron through a sheet of paper).

· After straightening the sheets, glue them with dichlorethylene or a hot iron.

· This way we prepare several large sheets of fused plastic, which we then fasten to the roof with a stapler on a pre-prepared wooden frame.

· If you take pieces of colored plastic, you can get a mosaic roof.

In the second case, a roof made of plastic bottles is made without straightening the sheets. They just need to be bent in half in the opposite direction to twisting. Something like two slides twisted upwards is formed. We prepare the sheets in this way and fasten them with a stapler on one twisted side, making an overlap.

2. Strength. Plastic bottles are able to withstand heavy loads and mechanical shock.

3. Possibility of reusable use.

It is only worth noting that it is better for work if all the material is of the same size.

Material preparation

1. Using a knife, it is necessary to cut off the bottom and necks from the bottles in order to obtain an element that looks like a tube.

2. When all sheets are straightened, you can proceed to the process of bonding them together. To do this, you can use glue based on dichloroethane. Such a fastener will allow you to create a high-quality connection, and working with it is quite simple. The adhesive will melt the plastic pieces, allowing them to be held together.

3. The connection of prepared elements can also be provided with a hot iron, melting the workpieces through thick paper.

4. After you have prepared several sheets of the correct size, proceed to staple them. Do this on a wood frame, which must be prepared in advance.

5. This wooden frame will be the base of the roof. To create such a design, you can use plastic bottles that have different shades. Collecting colored mosaics from pieces will make the roof more interesting.

Method two

1. This option involves the use of halved plastic tubes. The product does not need to be straightened. You will need twisted elements that need to be folded in half. In this case, if we untwist the semicircle back, we get an even designation of the place of the fold.

2. After the work done, you should get an element that looks like two slides.

4. After adding the third sheet in the same way, you should get one more slide, that is, four. In this way, the entire roof structure is filled.

5. The elements are fastened along the edge. The work is carried out with a stapler.

6. This method of making a roof from plastic bottles resembles a tiled roof in appearance.

7. Installation is carried out in strips. After installing one, proceed to the other. The second strip must be attached to the first overlap, placing it slightly higher.

8. Finished strips of plastic construction are fixed on the roof, starting from the bottom and moving upward - from the edge of the eaves to the ridge.

9. In this case, the ridge of the roof from plastic bottles is made in the same way, preparing the elements and fixing them at the top.

10. Laying the top layer of plastic products is carried out in different ways, in contrast to the slope of the roof:

With a sloping roof, the last layer of homemade tiles is fastened in such a way that the upper parts go onto the wall, protecting the joint between the wall and the roof;

· If the roof has two or more slopes, then it will be necessary to close the joints of the slopes using an additional row of parts, fixing them at both ends of different planes of the gazebo roof.

· Roofing is best done with a ramp to allow water to drain off the plastic sheeting.

· When straightening elements under hot water, it is necessary to immerse the product in liquid for three to five minutes, and then put it under a press for one or two days.

· Installation work is carried out using a construction stapler. But a better way will be to use an awl and a nylon or cordon thread. This mounting option will provide a longer roof life, adding additional resistance to wind loads.

· It is convenient to lay the plastic cover on the plywood sheets, fixing the structure with self-tapping screws.

· To prevent the formation of leaks from the plastic roofing material, it is necessary to use rubber gaskets.

Hello dear gardeners! The topic of today's material is interesting to everyone and is always relevant. She is probably familiar to many, but still I hope to surprise you.

Today everything is sold in plastic bottles: water, soft drinks, milk ... Of all the garbage that we collect, the most voluminous bottles are: you put one in the trash bin - and that's it: count half a bucket busy. And what is it like in the country! In many suburban villages, there are simply no garbage containers. There is only one way out: either take all this "good" to the city, to the nearest container, or somehow use something that cannot be recycled in summer cottages.

Logical question: how plastic bottles can be used on the farm to be useful, convenient, and beautiful? Let's talk about this.

By the way, information sheet: plastic decomposes in water from 100 to 500 years(according to various sources and depending on the type of plastic).

We have few factories that recycle waste, so people themselves find interesting applications for simple and seemingly completely unnecessary things.

Plastic bottles in garden decor

If you wish, you can create such beauty - the neighbors will be envious! Do you want to decorate your garden at a low cost? See if your dacha has empty plastic bottles.

Beautiful neat flower beds

Plastic bottles can be used to protect flower beds. The benefits here are obvious: flower beds and beds are not washed out by downpours, they always look neat and pleasing to the eye. In my opinion, it looks great ... How to make such a flower bed?

Of course, you will need a lot of bottles (preferably the same size). We fill them with sand, close them and begin to build a "palisade". The bottles will have to be dug into the ground a little to give them stability. After the flowerbed is fenced, paint the resulting border in any color. In principle, you can do this in advance - as you wish. But it seems to me that it is more convenient to paint a ready-made fence than each bottle separately. And containers made of dark plastic can be left as they are, it also looks nice. For an example of execution and opinions of summer residents on this method of using bottles, see the materials:

Flowers, palms, butterflies and other "tropics"

The beauty is indescribable. Turn on your imagination, wake up your imagination and create all kinds of flowers in your garden that will never fade or rot)).

To make it clearer how to make something out of bottles (for example, flowers), let's look at an example.

What you may need:

  • plastic bottles of different colors;
  • scissors, awl, thick threads;
  • PVA glue and "Master";
  • acrylic paints;
  • candle;
  • wire;
  • beads, beads - for decoration.
With the rest, everything is more or less clear, but why a candle? It's simple. We cut off the necks of the bottles. We cut each neck not to the end lengthwise, make 6 petals. Give the petals a rounded shape. We light a candle and scorch each petal to melt a little. First, along the edges, so that they are beautiful and even, and then at the base of the petals, bending them at the same time, giving shape. Plastic forms well when heated.

The stem is best made of thick wire. Stamens are made of thin wire on which you can string beads. It remains only to collect the whole thing, fastening it with glue, if necessary using an awl and wire. Just look what beauty the result is!

Cute animals for the garden

Bottles are made of everybody. Perhaps the simplest thing is. All you need is to cut and bend the ears, attach a tail and paint beautifully. However, there are crafts and very complicated ones. For example, animals from fairy tales. I will not describe their production step by step, otherwise the article will turn out to be of galactic proportions. I'd rather just show the video from the slides. From the photo, in principle, you can see what and how to do, it's not difficult to figure it out.

How do you like these animals? Looks great in my opinion! And if you involve children in the process, they will be delighted!

The tools used are the same as those listed above. Paints are not necessarily acrylic. But they dry faster, this is a plus. And they hardly smell. True, they are also different.

Air curtains for garden

These crafts captivated me precisely with their airiness and singularity. I specially collect bottles and make such a curtain in my yard! I think you can use bottles of different sizes.

Mostly the bottoms will come in handy, but you can also cut the leaves! From a distance it is not very clear what these transparent flowers are hanging on, but the more interesting the idea. We look ...

As you can see, you can fasten the flowers with threads, you can glue them to the base (for example, plastic wrap). I think this option is perfect for a gazebo. And it will be light, and the rain will not penetrate. There are a lot of options for curtains from bottles. But I still liked the first one better, didn't you?

Lamps and chandeliers for the garden

Actually, why not? Buying a lamp in the garden is not profitable, just hanging a light bulb is ugly. A lamp made of plastic bottles is an excellent option for illuminating a garden area.

It's not a shame to hang such chandeliers in the house.

The main rule: do not allow plastic parts to come into contact with the light bulb, otherwise they may melt. True, you can use an energy-saving lamp, it heats up less - up to +50 ... + 60 ° C.

Girls! If you don't know how to attach the light bulb itself, leave this matter to your husbands, brothers or fathers ... From you - the creative, from them - the lighting element =)))

Garden path from bottles

I recently wrote about garden paths in an article. But there was nothing about the bottles, only about their caps. It turns out that from the bottoms, a good path is obtained, along which it is pleasant to walk barefoot. note: the bottoms are laid on loose sand, the master must make an effort so that they are filled with sand. This will eliminate their deformation in the future when you walk on them.

Household supplies from plastic bottles

This is where the expanse is ... If you think that garden decor from bottles is not for you, perhaps you will be interested in useful things that can be made from them.

Washbasins and boxes

The easiest option is to hang the bottle upside down, and when you need to wash your hands, just unscrew the cap a little. It is better to cut the bottom of the bottle and make it removable so that it is more convenient to pour water. There is nothing difficult here, and a child can handle it. Such a washbasin can be hung on a tree or somewhere else. By the way, use this idea when you go to a picnic - it's very convenient, and your hands are always clean.

It is advisable to make the homemade washbasin lockable so that leaves, insects and other debris do not get into the water. There are also more complex designs. You can, for example, cut a hose with a tap into a large bottle. But this is so that it is quite convenient.
And you can make a box from a bottle for bags, napkins or something like that.

Scoops and scapula

Making a scoop with your own hands is as easy as shelling pears. Take a bottle and mark with a marker the shape of the future scoop. The rest is a matter of scissors. Well, or a knife.

Slippers

This is the kind of shoe that wears out pretty quickly. Therefore, durable and beautiful slippers will always come in handy on the farm. No-no, don't think that bottled slippers are just scoops with heels =))). I would like to see it ... Although there are also simple options. For example, this one:

A more complex option looks like this:

Of course, it is not necessary to make such bouquets. But in general, the slippers are excellent. In order not to slip, and the leg feels comfortable, you can experiment with "layers". How to make holes? Yes, even with a hole punch! And if there are men in the house, let them solve this problem.

And also very useful large containers for household needs can be made from plastic bottles:

Devices for repelling rodents and insects

There are many different kinds of them. I will only talk about mole repeller and mosquito trap.

Let's start with a trap
It is very easy to make it. Cut off the top of the bottle and insert it with the neck down. The design must be darkened with paper or cloth - mosquitoes will more readily fly in there.

Pour into the bottom of the bottle as bait sugar yeast syrup... It is simple to make it: pour hot water, add sugar and yeast there, stir and cool. Such a trap will attract not only mosquitoes, but also bees, wasps, flies.

You can put the structure on the window or hang it up - this is optional. You need to clean it once a week.

By the way, I don't know why the syrup is brown in the photo - maybe from cane sugar?))) Or maybe it's kvass. By the way, yes - insects also fly to kvass. Once they left a jar of kvass on the porch, so so many midges flocked there!

A wind vane that scares away moles and more
These devices were described in detail in the article. There is also a video - you can see how to make such a structure, how it works. Ask, what does he scare with? At the bottom of the bottle, it is advised to pour beads, balls from bearings and other "rattling" elements. They say that the sound that this windmill makes is not tolerated by moles. Who has moles? Try it, then unsubscribe here, okay?
Yes, the axle on which the craft is attached must be stuck in the ground - I think you get the idea.

About the fact that some with the help of bottles, I think you already know. The bottom and throat of the bottle are cut off - a cylinder is obtained, which is then dug into the ground. Such a cover protects the root system of a young plant from attacks by a bear.

Tool boxes

For these purposes, rectangular bottles are more suitable. For example, from under engine oils. However, there are also bottles for water of this shape. Containers are made simply: mark with a marker, cut. Everything =))

These boxes can be great on the farm.

Device for deep watering of plants and their night heating

Some plants do not like shallow watering. Therefore, my mother waters some of the beds using plastic bottles.

The bottom of the bottle needs to be cut off, but not completely, to get something like a cap. We tear the earth on the side of the plant, make a small trench and put pebbles there. Drainage is needed so that water does not erode the soil. Then we put the bottles with their necks down and roll them with the earth. Now, to water the plant, all you need is to open the lid and pour in the right amount of water. Here, see how our summer residents use plastic containers.

Some people dig in containers with the neck up, but then you need to make holes in the bottle so that the water goes away.

As for heating plants, you can simply pour water into bottles and overlay the plant with them. In the sun, the water heats up and will give off heat to the earth for some time. I know that glass bottles are also dug into the ground, but today we are talking about plastic.

Knee pads for garden work

Many people are generally contraindicated to work bent over, this is especially true for hypertensive patients. But how, then, weed the garden? Yes, I'll tell you about the knee pads. If you work on your knees, your head will no longer be down, therefore, your health will not suffer.

All you need to do is find the right bottles, try them on to your knees, and cut out the knee pads to the desired shape. Then attach the ties. It's simple.

Flower pots

And what kind of pots made of plastic bottles do not exist! Some just pour earth into bottles, others make real masterpieces. The possibilities are endless. What's good: bottles can always be painted in any color and hung anywhere. For example, how do you like these ideas?

Very cute, and you won't immediately guess what the pots are made of.

Candlestick

I made my first candlestick from a plastic bottle in elementary school, at a labor lesson. It's simple. Cut off the neck and bottom of the bottle (about half of the bottle). Then cut the part with the bottom into strips and bend them. And inside you insert the part with the neck. She will hold the candle. In general, it's as easy as shelling pears.

But this is only one of the options, you can connect two necks.

Broom

Instead of a thousand words, I'll show you one video.

Why buy a broom when it can be done in half an hour?

Funnels

The farm periodically needs to pour something from one container to another. Not necessarily something edible - it happens, and diluted fertilizer, and poison for Colorado beetles ... Do not use a funnel from the kitchen for such purposes! And a funnel can be made from a bottle at any time.

Bird Feeders

We fed the birds in these all winter. The bottles used were large, 5 liter. I cut out windows in them, made small "thresholds" and "porches". So that it was comfortable for the birds to sit, and the snow did not sweep inside. Another plus - it is convenient to hang such feeders on trees, they already have handles.

Constructions from plastic bottles

These are not funnels with pots, but something more serious. Enterprising people from anything can build something for themselves. For example, plastic bottles make excellent greenhouses and gazebos.

Plastic bottle greenhouses

A ready-made medium-sized greenhouse costs more than 15 thousand rubles. I know for sure, because I was interested in this issue. Add to that the cost of assembly. Not everyone can figure out what's what. But there is an alternative that is not inferior in performance and will cost you ... just 500-700 empty plastic bottles! =))

The plastic from which bottles are made is 20 times stronger than dense polyethylene. It keeps the temperature perfectly, does not melt in the sun and can last for decades. At a greenhouse made of plastic bottles there are a number of advantages:

  • it is cheap;
  • durable;
  • easily repaired;
  • light in weight, it can be rearranged if necessary;
  • looks pretty cute.

I walked around different sites and realized that there are 2 main ways to use plastic bottles in construction:

  1. The bottom of each bottle is cut off. A thin rail is taken and all the bottles are strung on it. You will get ready-made building planks.
  2. The bottoms and throats are cut off from the bottles. Then what happened - the middle part - is cut lengthwise. It turns out a rectangular piece of plastic. We iron it with an iron (always through hard paper) to level it. We sew larger sheets from such sheets. Overlapping is desirable. You can use an awl; for fastening parts - cord thread or wire. It is not recommended to sew with thread or fishing line - the seams will quickly rot and disperse.

When the sheets (strips) are ready, you can make a frame. It is made from ordinary wooden blocks with a hammer and nails. Any form. You can - a house, you can - a triangle. And then we attach what we made from bottles to the frame. In the first case, the planks must be set as close to each other as possible so that the wind does not walk. Well, you can always glue it with scotch tape. In general, you will figure it out!)) And in the second case, ready-made plates from plastic bottles are simply nailed to a wooden frame.

An important point is the roof. In general, a good frame is able to withstand a rather heavy weight, but knowledgeable people advise covering the roof not with bottles, but with polycarbonate sheets. Or to strengthen something for the winter - suddenly there will be a lot of snow. Here's another interesting post
