Plates mounting systems are decorative fasteners, which in a simple case represent a bolt with a beautiful decorative cap and an extension tube, with the help of which your sign or plate is securely and beautifully fixed on the concrete facade of the building, on the plasterboard wall inside the business center, on the door to the office ... In addition to metal spacers, mounting systems can be cabled - for hanging the signs from the ceiling.

Remote decorative holders

The base cylinder - extension tube - is fixed to the wall with screws and dowels. A plate is put on the cylinder and fixed with a decorative bolt, which can be "silver", "gold", black, and other colors, sizes and shapes.

Systems for fastening plates

Left: Rope system for attaching plates. The metal cable is stretched between two decorative mounts, which are attached to the wall, or to the ceiling and floor. Thus, several plates of the same design can be fixed in a row vertically. The solution is relevant for business centers, office centers, government and public organizations.

On right: Tubular system for attaching plates. Plates are mounted vertically in a row on metal rods (tubes), which are attached with a distance from the wall using distance holders

Screws with a decorative cap.
The color of the cap can be gold or silver; if necessary, decorative caps can be tinted or aged. It is sometimes necessary to do this for semi-antique plates so that the mount and the main background look harmonious with the plate.

Remote holders. Fastening of plates at a distance from the wall using spacer holders. Depending on the type of holder, the distance from the wall is 10-100 mm. This attachment is indispensable for fixing to uneven surfaces.

Concealed fasteners with metal plugs. Plugs are cut from the face of the plate itself. You can paint them in any color. Used for beveled plates, as well as for products made by powder paint.

Countersunk fasteners with studs. This is when the reverse side, on the front of the plate, has no holes, decorative caps, metal plugs. Countersunk fasteners are used in the manufacture of beveled plates. On the back of the plate, 4 studs are welded. Mark the ends of the studs with a bold marker, then apply it to the place to be mounted, the marker marked the places for drilling the hole. Then the plate is inserted into them, for greater reliability from vandals, liquid nails or glue are poured into the holes.

Our company can produce individual fasteners not only for the cuts themselves, but also for screws.

Double-sided tape. The most convenient and fastest way to use double-sided tape. There are different double-sided tapes, there are ones that can be used only for indoor use, and also that can withstand atmospheric influences on the street. When using double-sided tape, you do not need to drill holes either on the plate itself or on the wall, it is very convenient to attach the plates on the door, you don’t need to spoil the doors themselves and the interior of the office as a whole. It is also convenient to attach plates to fired partitions and doors.

Hook. Use a hook for free / busy signs.

Concealed hinges can be used if the plate is framed in a metal Nelson profile. The hinges can be fastened with the tab inward or outward. See photo

For fastening, the plate is simply hung on a nail in the wall. The plate can be easily removed and hung back in place. To attach the plate in the Nelson frame, the hinges are securely placed outward, with the help of a level it is aligned on the wall and through the hinges to be attached to the cuts. It will be difficult to remove the plate without special tools. The plates are very mobile, but they are not protected from theft of the plate itself.

One of the easiest fastening methods, which can be carried out even by a non-professional. Doesn't require professional tools and skills. There are restrictions on the weight of the attached product, so this method is most often used indoors and for plates made of plastic or acrylic. It is recommended to use specialized tape.

Most often used for plates with a removable information part. A metal base is required to which the replacement part of the plate will be attached.

3. Screws (self-tapping screws)

One of the simplest and not requiring special skills method of fastening, it is used in a situation when it is more important to fasten the plate reliably, and not aesthetically.

Used only when framed with Nielsen metal moldings. Loops are placed with the tab inward or outward. If you put the tab inward, the loop will be hidden and the plate is hung on the screws screwed into the wall, otherwise the plate is attached in such a way that it will not be possible to remove it without a special tool.

One of the most aesthetic and reliable ways to attach plates. The plate is removed from the wall by 10-60 mm, depending on the type of holder. There is a feeling that the plate is floating in the air. Holders are matched to the style, color and material of the plate.

5. Screws with decorative caps

This mounting method is similar to the previous one. The difference lies in the fact that the product is attached close to the bearing surface. Decorative caps, unlike conventional screws, look much more impressive.

6. Ceiling hangers

Structurally, the suspension system consists of 3 parts: a holder that is attached to the plate, a metal cable or fishing line, a holder that is attached to the ceiling.

7. Backlit mount

Combined with one of the above mounting methods, it provides information visibility even at night.

How to determine the best way to attach volumetric or flat letters? What kind of fasteners can I use? What fasteners should be used outdoors and indoors?

For all types of letters, there are two main ways of attaching letters:

  • without being removed from the mounting surface - close
  • with a distance from the attachment surface - at a certain distance

In this case, the mounting surface is the place where the letters (signs) are installed - a wall, a substrate, a partition, a structure.

It should be borne in mind that in almost any case, the surface, with the exception of glass, will be damaged by fasteners (screws, pins, tape) and after dismantling the letters, it will need to be restored.

Any work on the installation of signs should be carried out in a clean room, without airborne dust, such as during repair work. This situation is fraught with at least contamination of the sign and, at the maximum, poor-quality installation of the sign, especially on double-sided tape.

Several factors influence the choice of the type of fastener:

  • Size of sign elements
  • Location of the sign
  • Surface type
  • Design project requirements

Installation of letters (signs) close to the surface

Installation of letters (sign elements) directly on the surface, as a rule, is carried out in two ways: using double-sided tape and using self-tapping screws.

It is more expedient to use double-sided tape in indoor conditions (indoor advertising), in outdoor conditions it is better to refuse this option, since the environmental conditions are much more aggressive than indoor conditions, if we are not talking about rooms with extreme conditions of stay.

Although in ordinary office premises, one should pay attention to the possible presence of "aggressive" conditions. So, for example, temperature drops - location in a draft from the street; heating - location at the heating device; cooling - location in the immediate vicinity of the air conditioner.

From the above list of conditions, an interesting conclusion can be drawn: it is advisable to use double-sided tape in conditions and temperatures that are comfortable for humans.)))

The installation of letters (signs) on self-tapping screws practically does not impose requirements on external and internal conditions. When installing letters on self-tapping screws, the quality of the surface and the design of the letter (signage elements) are more important, allowing you to install the self-tapping screw.

There are not so many cases when the use of self-tapping screws is impossible, for example, a surface made of glass or an expensive stone, and for such surfaces we have a wide variety of types of double-sided tape.

Installation of letters (signs) with a distance from the surface

The letters (elements of the sign) are installed with a distance from the surface in cases when backlighting is installed in the letters or it is necessary to give the sign an additional effect of volume due to the appearance of a natural shadow.

Sometimes, this installation method is dictated by the surface texture, for example, decorative plaster or other irregularities.

When installing letters (sign elements), spacer holders of several types are used: plastic spacer holders of the “mushroom” type, threaded and plastic studs and individually made spacer holders.

Plastic spacer holders of the "mushroom" type.

This holder has a cap and a leg - hence the name. The leg is screwed to the surface, the cap is glued to the back of the letter, then both elements are connected in a dad-mom fashion (inserted one into the other). This type of remote holder is applicable for large letters, since the diameter of the cap is 17mm, so the element of the letter must be at least 20mm so that the holder is not very noticeable. The size (length) of the leg of the "fungus" allows you to remove from the surface from 7 to 30 mm.

Hairpins

Studs can be installed both on small flat letters and on large volume letters.

Threaded rods are more often installed on stainless steel flat letters and backlit three-dimensional letters.

On stainless steel flat letters, a nut must be installed into which a stud is screwed. As a rule, studs are used at least M3, that is, with a diameter of 3mm, but the size of the nut faces is from 7mm, so the letter element must be at least 8-9mm.

Installation of threaded rods on volumetric letters with backlighting is advisable when the letters are small.

The threaded rod can be open or closed - hidden in a sleeve (hollow cylinder), the length from the back of the letter to the mounting surface. The sleeve can be aluminum or plastic, pasted over or painted in the desired color, for example, in the color of the wall.

Plastic pins can be installed on flat plastic letters and on double layer letters, with a plastic bottom layer. It is desirable that the thickness of the flat letters made of plastic and the bottom layer in two-layer letters should be at least 6mm. The diameter of the plastic holder is 4mm, so the width of the letter element must be at least 8mm.

All kinds of distance holders installed on letters (signage elements) are inserted into pre-prepared holes in the wall (installation surface). The holes are marked according to a specially made template and exactly coincide with the installation location of the spacer holders installed on the letters, which guarantees the accuracy of the installation of each sign element.

To order volumetric or flat letters and signs with the installation of a request, preferably with a layout of letters in vector format, a photograph of the proposed placement of the sign with volumetric or flat letters to form a binding (photomontage) of the future sign. We will give a detailed Proposal in response to your request.
