A stove for a bath from used car rims: features, advantages and manufacturing process. Advantages and disadvantages of a home-made stove in a garage from disks Boiler from rims

Having set themselves the goal of making a stove on their own, people often use the material at hand.

Wheels are great for the construction of a heating structure - car wheel iron part... Thanks to quality and thickness of metal they are ideal for this purpose.

Advantages of a stove made of car rims

The advantages of such a furnace are obvious:

  • no need to spend money on materials;
  • metal resistance to high temperatures and fire makes it possible to use any type of fuel;
  • a variety of disc options will allow you to build a furnace of optimal dimensions;
  • the material has high heat transfer;
  • the thickness of the metal increases the durability of the unit;
  • quick and easy construction of the device.

Of rims several types of heating structures can be made:

Making a stove for a bath with your own hands

The construction of the furnace includes the preparation and the actual manufacturing process itself.

Application of rims from a truck

If suddenly you only got rims from trucks, do not worry - they also fit. The oven from them will last even longer due to the thickness of the metal.

Important! Wheels are taken only steel, light-alloy wheels are not suitable for these purposes.

Required inventory

For the construction of a heating unit you will need:

  • 4 identical rims the right size;
  • Bulgarian;
  • welding machine;
  • thick sheet of metal or oven insert;
  • legs (optional).

Diagram of a sauna stove made of KAMAZ rims, drawing

If you take discs from trucks, for example, Kamaz, then with The rock operation of the device will increase two to three times. The essence of this construction is that 4 discs are installed on top of each other and sealed with a welding seam.

Photo 1. Drawing of a stove for a bath from car disks. Includes a firebox, a stove, a water heating tank.

First disc serves as a firebox: a window is cut out in it for storing fuel and a door is attached. Second disc serves as a heater. Third used as another heat exchanger, fourth is a tank for heating water.

If necessary, to give the structure stability, metal legs are welded.

Preparation

Take wheels of the correct size, clean off any dirt, rust or peeling paint residues. For this ignite them at the stake and brush over the metal. Decide which of the discs will be at the bottom of the structure. Make chalk markings for the furnace hole.

Furnace construction process

  1. The lower two discs will serve as a combustion chamber and a heater. For the firebox, cut out a window about 20 by 12 cm... It is important here not to cut close to the edges - step back from them along 2 cm, and the structure will not lose its strength. Next, the second disc is welded, and a grate is installed between them, on which the stones will be located.
  2. The water tank must be sealed, therefore, it must be welded to the disc bottom made of sheet metal. A water tap is installed on the side.
  1. Further, all the individual parts of the structure are welded together.
  2. Place an oven insert or a plate cut from an iron sheet at the bottom of the combustion chamber.

That's all - the oven is ready. If desired, you can weld the legs to it.

First, make cuts along the marked contour, and then cut to the end. Be sure to sand the cut edges, so as not to get hurt.

Reference. Difficulties often arise when cutting out the furnace hole. The metal is thick and the disc is constantly falling or turning. The advice is simple - use the vice... Clamp a disk in them and cut a hole.

After completing the design work, it would be nice to paint the new oven. heat resistant paint. But you can paint only cooled metal, so wait until the structure cools down. The black unit looks best.

How to make a stove from rims

Many craftsmen make wood stoves and even boilers from thick-walled pipes. But often such a pipe becomes too expensive a pleasure, while there may be a couple of old wheels from the car at hand. In this case, you can get a wonderful stove from wheel disks, and we will tell you about how to make it in this article.

What kind of stoves can be made from car rims?

At the moment, home craftsmen have invented several varieties of iron stoves assembled from wheel disks. They can be divided into areas of application:

  • heating;
  • baths;
  • for cooking, including barbecue.

These car parts are attractive primarily for the thickness of the metal. The body of a wood-burning stove made of a steel disk will not burn out very soon, especially if you take a wheel from a truck. The latter, as a rule, are used for the manufacture of sauna stoves, since they are distinguished by their large dimensions and metal thickness. For a sauna stove, often operating in extreme conditions, this is an important factor.

From disks from cars and commercial vehicles, you can get both a good wood heater for a garage, and a small stove for barbecue. Let's take them all in order.

Wood-fired heat generator welded from discs

The author of the stove shown below in the photo was inspired by the design of the famous Buleryan heaters. Only the original costs decent money, but such a hand-made product costs ten times cheaper, provided that the farm has 3 wheels from a UAZ or GAZelle. In addition, you will need a little sheet metal and pipes with a diameter of 100-150 mm, and even a short pipe Ø76 mm.

The most difficult thing is to cut the inner part out of the rims. The grinder is not very convenient, and the metal is thick. A gas cutter is preferable, but if it is not there, then a grinder will do. Then, using a welding machine, the discs are hermetically joined to form a body. The back part is closed with a metal sheet with a Ø100-150 mm chimney pipe welded to it. If there is a desire, then a traction control damper is installed on this branch pipe, as shown in the photo:

It is not necessary to make a draft control damper if you make the stove from rims with variable air supply. To do this, a branch pipe with an air damper with a spring-loaded axle is built into the front door. In addition, an additional plate is installed inside the firebox, dividing the space into 2 parts, as in Buleryan. Above, a secondary chamber is obtained, where the chimney pipe is welded.

The furnace can take any diameter, length and orientation in space. It all depends on the number and size of disks, and also on your imagination.

Sauna stove

For the manufacture of a sauna stove, wheels from cars are not suitable - they are too small. The author of the idea, whose diagram is shown below, used 4 old rims from the ZIL-130 truck. Located one above the other, each of them performs its own function:

  • the first disc serves as a cover for the combustion chamber. According to the idea, the sauna stove has a small brick firebox with doors opening into the dressing room;
  • the second rim is the heater;
  • the third is an additional heat exchanger that takes the energy of the flue gases and transfers it to the inside of the steam room;
  • the fourth disc is a water heating tank.

Note. You can do without a brick firebox by organizing one inside the first rim. But then you will have to heat the bath from the steam room, and it is more difficult to make tight-fitting doors in the disc body.

All additional metal parts required to assemble the furnace are shown in the following diagram. A hand-made sauna stove works according to the following principle: firewood burning in the firebox gives off heat through its walls and rim No. 1 with a cut out bottom. It is welded with a second disc where the bottom remains in place so that it can be filled with stones. Inside, a pipe with the outgoing combustion products passes through them and heats the stove.

Further, the pipe goes inside the third rim, where a sheet metal gas divider is installed instead of the bottom. Combustion products wash over the divider, and the stove for the sauna from the discs gives off more heat, since this section plays the role of an economizer. Well, the last stage of cooling the flue gases takes place inside the 4th rim, which is turned into a tank with a lid and a tap for water. As a result, the furnace works no worse than the factory copies, and in terms of durability it surpasses any of them.

Kebab oven

This wonderful device is made of two disks from the wheels of passenger cars. Although, if someone wants a bigger stove, then there are no restrictions: you can use wheels from UAZ or GAZ-53. In one of them, the bottom is carefully cut and then the rims are welded together.

In order for the unit to be reliably installed on any surface, legs are attached to the lower section by welding, as shown in the photo.By the way, the hole for the hub must also be plugged, but the side holes can be left, through them air will enter the firebox. For ease of carrying, handles are welded to the outside of the body, and an opening for the door is cut out in the side part.

The latter is made from the same piece, planted on hinges. That's it, the oven from car drives for barbecue and cooking is ready. As practice shows, 5 skewers with meat fit on it.

Advice. The cut-off bottom of the upper disc does not need to be thrown away; it can serve as a support for a small saucepan, kettle or frying pan.

Conclusion

After studying the essence of the issue, the conclusion suggests itself that making a stove from wheel disks is a very simple matter. This is partly true, especially for people who are well acquainted with welding and locksmith works on metal. Although in the case of a sauna stove, you will have to tinker with the brickwork, and the installation in the steam room must be done correctly. Well, for those who are not yet friends with the welding machine, there is a great opportunity to practice on the stoves.

Stove from rims

Hello everyone! So I decided to make a stove stove from scrap materials for heating the garage.

I found R14 car wheels and some metal in the garage, figured it out and made just such a structure.

The combustion chamber was welded from three disks.

I cut a hole in the lower part, put the grate bars, made a box for collecting ash. The sides and the door are made of sheet metal silt.

Stove feet are made from a cut disc from a motorcycle.

He brought out the chimney pipe in the back wall.

Here is such a stove made of rims, a minimum of manufacturing costs, so to speak, a budget version of a potbelly stove for a garage.

Traditionally, bricks are used for the sauna stove, but craftsmen have adapted to make this design from scrap materials. What if there is no brick at hand, but a ready-made version of steel or cast iron is expensive to buy? Oddly enough, experts recommend making a sauna stove out of discs.

Features of the future design

Device

Such a stove for a bath of automobile disks consists of four disks from a ZIL-130 or similar size. Everyone has their own task:

  1. The rim I and the bottom are used as a firebox. Its bottom is cut out. You can heat the stove for a sauna from discs from the dressing room or directly in the steam room. In the first case, you will need to additionally fold a small brick firebox. The second option does not provide for additional structures, but it is less convenient during operation, additional complexity is caused by the device of the door.
  2. A second rim is used as a heater, in which the bottom is left and welded on top of the first.
  3. Rim III cuts the gases, forcing them to give off additional heat obtained as a result of cooling and go out into the chimney.
  4. Three discs serve as a housing for the stove, the fourth as a water tank. The water in it will be actively heated.

It is quite possible to make a stove for a bath from wheel disks with your own hands.

Principle of operation

The principle of operation is simple, but effective: the energy from the burning fuel rises through the first rim and heats the stones in the second. The pipe passing through the third and fourth discs leads the gaseous combustion products into the chimney. The third disc is used as a kind of heat exchanger, heating up from hot gases in the chimney and transferring additional heat to the room.

The same gases give off the rest of the heat in the fourth disk, heating the water. There will always be hot water in the bath, the capacity of such a tank is about 40 liters. Water can be drawn into the boiler manually or supplied with water. Such a stove made of discs is not inferior to ready-made counterparts, but it lasts longer.

Choice of rims

For optimal heat dissipation, especially in the middle, the discs must be of a certain size. The diameter of the disc must be at least half a meter, and its height must be at least 25 cm, which has been established empirically. It is for this reason that it is worth using only rims from trucks. Similar car rims are too small. This is what they differ in.

Truck drive

Expendable materials

In the manufacture of a stove for a bath from KAMAZ or other disks from a truck, we will use the material at hand.

We will need:

  • car rims from any truck (not less than 0.5 m in diameter) - 4 pcs.;
  • steel pipe Ø160, wall thickness 5-7, L = 500 - two pieces;
  • red refractory brick for the furnace - 60 pcs.;
  • a concave disc made of steel 5 mm and a diameter of 120 mm less than a car disc - 1 pc .;
  • fittings А-I Ø10-16 L = 150 mm - 4 pcs .;
  • fittings А-I Ø12-16 L = 200 mm - 4 pcs .;
  • fittings А-I Ø10-12 L = 100 mm - 4 pcs .;
  • fittings А-III Ø12 - 18 m;
  • steel sheet, thickness 3 mm, 600x600 - 0.12 m 2;
  • sheet of 4 mm steel, 600x600 - 0.12 m 2;
  • concrete B12.5 700x700x800 = 0.4 m 3;
  • doors for the firebox and blower;
  • tap;
  • Other materials.

Instruments

We will need:

  • Bulgarian;
  • Welding inverter;
  • other handy tool.

Manufacturing instruction

Having certain skills, it is not difficult to make such a stove with your own hands. The dimensions of the brick firebox are only 625x625 mm. The first thing to do is calculate and build the foundation and only then move on to the top.

Calculation and arrangement of the foundation

First, let's define the initial data for the lower part of the sauna stove. We will need:

  • depth of soil freezing;
  • soil characteristics: heaving, aggressiveness, etc.

The depth of freezing is taken according to SP 131.13330.2015 "Construction climatology". The rest of the characteristics are determined visually. Heavily soil assumes a depth of laying of at least 1.2 m, dry or sandy - at least 0.8 cm. The base of the foundation must be located below the freezing mark.

It is better to make the foundation for a sauna stove in the form of a solid monolithic slab with reinforcement. As a material, concrete of class B12.5 - B15 is suitable. According to SNiP, the foundation must exceed the dimensions of the structure by at least 100 in each direction.

  • We accept the dimensions of the slab 700x700.
  • The depth is taken as 0.8 m, then V of concrete = 0.7m * 0.7m * 0.8m = 0.4 m 3.
  • The step of reinforcing bars A-III Ø12 is taken as 200x200, reinforcement in 2 tiers, protective concrete layer - 50 mm.
  • We get: 700 - 100 = 600/200 + 1 = 4 transverse rods, 700 - 100 = 600/200 + 1 = 4 longitudinal rods, 4 * 4 = 16 vertical rods.
  • Total: 8 * 0.6m + 16 * 0.7m = 4.8 + 11.2 = 16m.
  • As a standard, we take 10% in stock, taking into account overlaps 16 * 1.1 = 17.6> we take 18 m.

Foundation example

Wall and ceiling protection

One of the disadvantages of a sauna stove made of discs from truck wheels is the high temperature of its surface, which requires certain fire-prevention measures, including protecting the walls and ceiling with fireproof materials.

We insulate the ceiling with glass wool, which has a metallized coating on the bottom. This material is fireproof and efficiently reflects heat back into the room.

A protective apron is arranged on the walls for the entire height, with a width of at least 700 mm.

Manufacturing of a structure

A general view of the furnace made of wheel disks is shown in Fig. 1, cutaway drawing of the furnace - in Fig. 2.

Rice. 1 - Diagram of a stove for a bath from truck disks

Rice. 2 - Drawing

The work is carried out in the following order:

  • The foundation is in progress.
  • Protection of the enclosing structures is carried out (see above).
  • Brick firebox laying. Performed with dressing of vertical seams, not less than 1/3, on the bed. Clay is used as a solution.
  • The first disc is installed on the firebox, welded to the second and mounted on the firebox. Pre-cut the bottom of the first disc along the lower rim. Use a continuous weld seam for welding.
  • We weld a pipe with a diameter of 160 and a length of 500 mm to the second rim. To the first, the reflective sheet is slightly smaller than its inner diameter (see Fig. 2).
  • Using 4 rods, we weld the third disc to the second.
  • In the center of the third disc, we weld a casing, the diameter of which is slightly larger than the diameter of the exhaust pipe, which we will insert into this casing in the future. We seal with clay or asbestos cord. We weld on the divider.
  • We mount disc 4, to which we pre-weld the bottom of a metal sheet. It will serve as a water reservoir, so all connections must be tight.
  • We mount a pipe with a base for a brick chimney welded to its top. We lay out at least 5 rows of brick chimney. Then we use it as a base for an asbestos-cement pipe with a diameter of 160.

The installation process is straightforward if you prepare all the blanks in advance and clearly use this step-by-step instruction. Close all unnecessary holes with inserts 4 mm thick.

Chimney arrangement

Let's consider the chimney device in more detail. Let's start with the fact that the maximum weight of an asbestos-cement pipe is 50 kg. This is due to the fact that it rests on a metal platform only 3 mm thick. The main load is taken by the bottom of the 4 discs.

All - the structure must be securely fixed. The joints must be additionally sealed with an asbestos cord to prevent smoke from entering the room.

Brickwork is used as a base for an asbestos-cement pipe. For secure fastening, it is necessary to complete at least 5 rows of bricks. Laying must be done with obligatory bandaging of vertical seams.

Pipe outlet

The pipe is routed out through the roof. The height of the pipe above the ridge is not less than 0.5 m. The place where the pipe passes through the ceiling must be protected by a special fire casing and insulated.

It is worth noting that the chimney outlet can also be made in the wall. This assumes a horizontal section, which is undesirable. But, the chimney will take up less space in the room itself. The fire safety requirements are the same.

Features of operation

Problems in operating a homemade oven can be easily avoided if you follow simple rules:

  • Carefully monitor the tightness of all connections. Use sand to diagnose the appearance of microcracks. Covering new cracks is easy with clay.
  • Use a special compound for painting the oven. It should provide increased corrosion protection. Loss of metal properties as a result of corrosion is the most common cause of breakdowns.
  • Additionally, fix the flue pipe with clamps.

You should also strictly observe all fire safety standards:

  • put a sheet of iron in front of the firebox;
  • protect all adjacent structures with fireproof materials;
  • arrange a brick protective screen, filling the space between it and the oven with sand.

Output

It can be concluded that the device of a furnace made of metal discs can be done by hand. In practice, such a stove shows itself at its best. She is not very whimsical to service, does not impose special requirements on the quality of fuel. The bath heats up faster than from a factory design of similar power.

The average time for warming up a volume of 16 m 3 to 120 0 С, with proper insulation, takes only one hour, although the consumption of firewood increases. Suitable for those who are wealthy enough not to skimp on this expense item.

The durability and reliability of the design has been tested in practice. On the online forums, you rarely come across negative reviews and comments. Problems most often arise from manufacturing errors. To avoid them, strictly follow the recommendations presented.

However, with all the advantages, the design also has some disadvantages:

  • high risk of getting burned if handled carelessly;
  • the structure quickly heats up the room, but it also cools down quickly;

As you can see, these disadvantages do not outweigh the advantages. They can be dealt with quite effectively. The device of a protective brick screen is able to solve both problems at once: to reduce the risk of injury and to increase the heat capacity of the furnace. Another tip - when assembling, pay special attention to the tightness of the container of the last disc. To heat the water faster, cover the boiler with a lid.

Oven made of discs- a worthy alternative to brick or stone construction. The product is not difficult to make, but it turns out to be quite original in appearance. Such a stove made of KAMAZ or Zilov disks can easily provide heating for a room with a total area of 15-16 square meters. That is why it is proposed to create a similar product for heating a garage or bath. And also the finished oven can be used as an effective cooking material.

Worth knowing! From the point of view of safety, in no case should you make mining furnaces, pyrolysis and long-burning structures from discs. If you omit this recommendation, there is a possibility that boiling oil or chemically aggressive substances will begin to flow through the crack in the seam.

Why are wheel rims perfect?

Why are wheel rims perfect? This is a relevant question for those who decided to make a stove with their own hands and came across information that it is made from car disks. Of course, it is allowed to use not only accessories for car wheels, but also other materials, for example, a metal barrel. But keep in mind that usually the material is very thin, which easily leads to the fact that the walls of the structure are burned through. You can also use a steel sheet, choosing the appropriate thickness. However, keep in mind that its price is quite high, and the created product will turn out at a price almost equal to the store price.

We can conclude that rims are the best option. Many drivers have such a "treasure" lying around in the garage, or you can take it from relatives and friends. As a result, it will be possible to make a liver for the cauldron without any problems. Disks for car wheels as a material for creating a furnace have many other advantages, namely:

  • availability;
  • material quality (sufficient steel thickness);
  • durability of the finished structure due to the massiveness of the base;
  • resistance to any mechanical damage, temperature extremes, high temperatures, including open fire;
  • high heating rate of the steel from which the rim is made;
  • different diameters of rims, which allows you to easily make the design of the required dimensions.

In this case, the finished structure can be used in different ways. It is suitable both for cooking, but also for kindling a bath complex or heating rooms with a small area (utility room and garage).

The furnace itself is good in that it is extremely easy to maintain, has a compact size, provides fast heating and excellent heat transfer. And you can also use any type of fuel at your discretion, for example, coal, wood or fuel pellets. It is worth considering that the design still has one significant drawback - the metal heats up during heating. And this, if used carelessly, can lead to injuries and burns.

Advice! You should not consider such a stove made of rims as a permanent heating device. This is due to its ability to cool quickly. This usually happens 1.5-2 hours after the last batch of fuel has burned out.

A huge advantage is the ability to make a homemade stove without any experience. You just need to prepare the required tools and materials. Which? Welding machine, grinder, rims.

Fire safety rules

It is very important to observe fire safety rules in the manufacture of the stove. This will prevent unpleasant situations and injuries. It is important to understand that a disc oven heats with infrared radiation. That is why it is recommended to perform shielding to convert the infrared stream into warm air. Shielding involves surrounding the furnace with a steel sheathing, which is installed so that a gap of 7-10 cm remains from the floor to the structure itself, as well as between the sheathing and the furnace.

So, it is important to observe the following safety rules during the operation of the structure:

  1. A steel sheet should be laid on the floor, or better - a reinforced concrete slab. This must be done so that such a coating extends beyond the contours of the structure by 60 or more centimeters in each direction. This will prevent the premises from catching fire if the coal accidentally hits the floor.
  2. It is important to exclude any contact of the chimney and metal stove with flammable materials. Additionally, you can use insulating gaskets.
  3. Before kindling the stove, be sure to make sure that there is a draft in the channels. In the absence, you should first warm up the chimney with a small amount of burnt wood, or by cleaning the ash pan and the passages themselves.
  4. It is highly discouraged to use liquid igniters, as this can lead to the release of fire from the firebox opening.
  5. When installing the stove in a bath, it is recommended to do this so that the combustion part of the structure goes directly to the dressing room. This arrangement has a huge number of advantages, including it is more convenient to heat it, smoke will not get into the steam room even in windy weather, the dressing room will also be heated.

Advice! If you want to make a stove in accordance with all the rules, you will additionally need wood hangers (large bolts and nuts are also suitable), iron sheet, pipe cuts, cement-sand mortar, clay, steel channels and refractory bricks. And the body for the structure can be made directly from the rims themselves.

Step-by-step instructions for creating a stove from discs

Step-by-step instructions for creating a furnace from discs will help you to make a structure without any problems. It is only important to decide on the purpose of using the ready-made device. In particular, if you are making an oven for heating or for cooking, then the design is quite simple. The base of such a stove can be refractory bricks or a section of an old radiator, on which a metal sheet is mounted (its thickness should be more than 5-8 mm).

The design itself must be done by adhering to the following steps:

  1. Prepare four KAMAZ discs. They must be made of steel, aluminum will not work.
  2. Using a grinder, cut out the central part of the three discs.
  3. Weld two discs together. In the lower disc, install a round plate that is the right size and cut from the sheet steel. If desired, this plate can be immediately welded to the metal base.
  4. Using a grinder, cut a small square hole on the side of the resulting workpiece. This piece should not be thrown away, a door will be made from it. The door can be mounted to the body with welded bolts and nuts. Additionally, you can attach a latch and a handle. It turns out a finished case, which will perform two functions at once - a blower (to increase traction, you will need to slightly open the door of the lower chamber) and an ash pan.
  5. Next, weld the two remaining discs together so that there is an uncored element at the bottom. Firewood will be stacked on it. On the side, you need to cut a hole in the same way as in the above step and install the door.
  6. A plate should be mounted at the top of the firebox, and a round hole should be cut out in it. A pipe will be installed in it.
  7. It remains to connect all parts of the case together. The pipe should be carefully lowered into the upper hole and welded so that the valve is at the top.

It is important to remember that the seams are the weakest point of the oven. That is why they need to be brewed with the utmost responsibility. If this is not done, then smoke will seep through the cracks and enter the room. And if you do everything in accordance with the recommendations, then the smoke will go into the chimney. D In addition, it is possible to cover cracks and seams with clay and sprinkle with dry sand, since during operation the seams tend to become thinner.

Advice! It is worth using the video with master classes, according to which it will not be difficult to create a stove from car disks with your own hands. Remember that rims of a truck, for example, KAMAZ or ZIL, are ideal.

Sauna stove from accessories for wheels

A stove for a bath from accessories for wheels has some differences from other stoves. In particular, it is necessary to organize a container for water in it. You will need two rims to create the upper chamber. They need to cut out the central mounting plates with a grinder. Only the headbands remain. It is important to understand that water will be heated in this tank, therefore it is important to achieve tightness. Both rims are stacked on top of each other and welded together.

From above, the finished tank must be closed with a movable flap or a metal lid. You can worry about safety and weld the product tightly, leaving a small sliding hole for pouring water. The only thing left to do is to make the bottom of the chamber, which requires a metal plate.

Next, you need to cut holes along the diameter of the chimney both in the upper and in the lower part of the tank. Then the pipe should be mounted and welded. Install the thin tube so that it is at the very bottom of the tank, sloping towards the floor. Close it with a tap. It will be used to drain the water.

It is important! At this stage, you should check the structure for leaks. To do this, the tank is filled with water and inspected for leaks. Pay particular attention to pipe slots and seams. If there is a leak, be sure to drain the water, dry the tank, and then fix the cracks by welding.

You can now start designing your heater. To do this, you need to take the two remaining rims and cut out the core from one of them. Both products are installed on top of each other and welded so that the hub of the whole disc is in the middle. It will serve as a kind of lathing. On top of the resulting container, you need to pour stones. The lower part of the structure will become the upper part of the firebox.

It is advisable to give preference to stones of a rounded shape, for example, diabase, peridotite, basalt, zhaladite, dunite or gabbro-diabase. However, such material is quite expensive. An alternative option is to look for stones near the reservoirs. Preference should be given to dark-colored rocks, which have a non-layered structure and are well hardened by the sun and moisture.

Worth knowing! The stones in the stove need to be replaced from time to time. This is due to the fact that the material tends to collapse under the influence of high temperatures. This causes the smoke to come out of the homemade stove with difficulty, which adversely affects the functioning.

Next, you need to organize a high-quality foundation. It must be not only durable, but also fireproof. Reinforced concrete screed, which is additionally lined with fire-resistant bricks on top, is excellent. You need to start creating the lower part of the future sauna stove only after the base dries out. At this time, you need to prepare red heat-resistant bricks (approximately 60 pieces for a structure with masonry 62x62 cm). Bricks should be laid in a square, fastened with clay diluted with water. It is imperative to leave a cavity for the blower, as well as a hole for the door. And on top of the masonry, you need to mount the grate.

It remains only to collect all the parts of the structure together. The metal part must be connected to the brick, and the firebox and the blower must be closed with manufactured doors. Next, weld the second piece of pipe to the central hole of the hub and sew it to the top of the chimney (we passed it through the water tank). Then you need to lay large or medium stones from below, and small stones on top of the heater.

In some cases, it becomes necessary to strengthen the structure. This will help metal channels, which need to be welded at a slight angle to the water tank and the heater. The pipe itself remains to be brought into the chimney, which must be lined with refractory bricks, and closed with a damper. The great advantage of such a homemade stove is that it is able to heat up a steam room of an average size in just one hour.

That's all, the sauna stove is ready for use. This is a potbelly stove with a pipe, which will significantly save money, because now there will be no need to buy a ready-made structure. You can also pay attention to the drawings, which will make it possible to make a larger-scale home-made furnace from used stamped discs.

Advice! The design always turns out to be standard, but you can add originality to it by decorating it beautifully. This will help the photos of those people who have already managed to make a stove from discs for a cauldron or for a bath. You can choose the most suitable option and implement it, or you can dream up and create your own masterpiece.

Do-it-yourself barbecue oven from car drives

A do-it-yourself barbecue oven from car drives will often allow you to cook in nature. By the way, such a structure can be called a marching one, since it has a small size and can be easily taken with you to the countryside, stowing it in the trunk of a car.

To create a structure you will need:

  • welding machine;
  • two rims;
  • Bulgarian;
  • bolts;
  • nuts;
  • profile pipe (1 meter);
  • wire.

Now you can proceed directly to manufacturing. From the first disk, the mounting plate should be cut out with a grinder (you can also use a gas cutter). Further, both discs should be welded in a circle so that the partition of the disc is at the very bottom of the future barbecue.

Next, you need to start creating the door. It is needed so that you can add new fuel without removing food from the grill. In addition, keeping the fire going will seem like a simple task with the help of the door. First you need to choose a place for the door. It is recommended that it be 2-3 centimeters above the bottom. Next, you need to draw the future product on the side of the structure, cut it out with a grinder and grind the edges. On one side of the hole, you need to make hinges with bolts. It is necessary to weld the nuts to the door itself, and then hang it on the bolts. In conclusion, you need to make a handle that will ensure ease of use. It is simply welded on.

Now you need to start creating the legs. Their recommended length should be 60-80 centimeters. This will comply with safety regulations and it is also convenient for cooking. But the length of the legs can be changed at will. For manufacturing, you will need a profile pipe, which is cut into three equal parts and welded to the body of the product so that the homemade stove is level on the ground.

A brazier made of rims may have to be moved from place to place. For convenience, it is worth making handles. They are made of thick wire, the thickness of which is 8 mm or more. On the sides of the door (or higher), you need to weld the nuts, and pass the handles through them.

It is important! Unlike other designs of stoves made of wheel disks, a metal sheet does not need to be welded to the bottom of the barbecue. Its presence can lead to the fact that the cravings deteriorate. It is recommended to cover the bottom with a net or make an analogue of a net made of wires (something similar to a grate).

We can conclude that making an outdoor stove with your own hands is a feasible task for every person. To rule out any problems, it is enough to adhere to the algorithm and follow the recommendations exactly. The only difficulty may lie in the fact that there is no welding machine or there is simply no skills to work with it. But this problem can be easily solved by calling the master, who will complete the welding in half an hour. In skillful hands, wheel disks will definitely not lie around idle. You can additionally paint them to make the finished oven look spectacular and extraordinary. You need to use only those paints that are resistant to high temperatures.

According to the calendar, winter is long over, but there is still snow in some places on the street, and frosts occur. If you work in a garage or workshop, there is an urgent need for heating. The stove "potbelly stove" is best suited for this business, it will allow you to get heat almost immediately, however, it is not able to accumulate it. There are a huge number of such stoves, today we will consider another interesting option - this is a stove made from old car rims.

It is sometimes possible to buy old car rims for a pittance at scrap metal collection points. As a rule, they are already very killed so that they can be installed on a car, but they are excellent for making stoves. The metal here is quite thick, which means that the stove will serve for quite a long time. The design discussed below provides a stove on which you can quickly boil a kettle, warm up soup, or even fry something in a pan. Everything is assembled quite simply, a minimum of tools and skills are required. So, let's take a closer look at how to build such a furnace.

Materials and tools used

List of materials:
- four car disks;
- Sheet steel;
- fittings;
- glass;
- door hinges;
- square pipes;
- heat-resistant paint;
- chimney.

Tool list:
- ;
- ;
- belt sander (optional);
- or a drilling machine;
- roulette;
- marker.

Furnace manufacturing process:

Step one. Preparing discs
In total, the author needed four disks to make the furnace. The first problem is that the discs must have straight edges, otherwise there will be slots through which smoke will pass. Of course, the slots can be welded, but it is much better to just align the joints to reduce the gaps. If there are significant dents, level them out with a hammer. Next, the author grinds the discs in a circle to perfectly smooth the contact area. Conveniently, if there is a swivel chair, we put a disc on it, and it starts to rotate if you bring the grinder at a certain angle.

But that's not all, we need to finalize three disks. From them you need to cut out the central part, you can do this with a grinder. These three barrels will represent the "body" of the furnace. For a top-mounted disc, heat will be better distributed through the holes in the disc, so it is best to leave this disc with a core.

Step two. Grizzly making
The grates are a very important attribute of the stove, thanks to them there is something to put firewood on in order to ensure the supply of air. For the manufacture of grates, the author decided to use fittings. We just cut it into pieces and weld it inside the disc. You can also use a steel plate to make grates, in which holes are drilled or slots cut.

Step three. Welding works
Now you can weld all the barrels together. Make sure to keep the weld seam continuous if you don't want smoke to seep through the cracks. It is convenient to carry out such work with a semiautomatic device, but it is possible to cope with ordinary welding, the metal here is quite thick and it is difficult to burn through it. First, grab the discs pointwise and make sure that the structure is assembled evenly. Install the disc with the intact core at the very top.

Step four. We make a support for the oven
The oven should stand on legs, and stand securely, as it is quite weighty. To make a reliable support, you need sheet steel, we cut out a circle of such a diameter so that it can be welded to the disk. As legs, cut off four identical pieces of a square pipe and weld to the base. That's all, we get an excellent support for the oven.

Step five. Making a hob
At the very top of the oven is a hob that will allow you to cook food. For its manufacture, sheet steel will be needed, choose a thicker one so that it does not burn out. We cut out a circle from it, the author grinds it on a grinder so that it is perfectly even.
The author decided to weld a part of the car pulley to the plate. What is the meaning of this is not clear. Probably in order to strengthen the structure.

Next, we mark the plate and make slots along the edges at an equal distance, as in the author in the photo. As a result, when you bend these plates, you get a kind of "dome". This dome is now carefully welded on top of the oven. It is important here that there are no cracks, otherwise smoke and foul gas will inevitably go into the room, which is very dangerous. The slots that remain in the plate also need to be welded well. At the end, we thoroughly grind the welded seams to obtain a monolithic structure. That's all, we are done with the stove body, it remains to install a pipe, a firebox and a blower with doors.

Step six. We cut out the furnace and ventilation window
In total, the stove should have three windows, two of them are used as furnace windows, so that you can load a lot of firewood at a time. Well, the third is small in size, it is at the bottom, it was blowing. We take a grinder and cut out the windows in those places that can be seen in the photo. Now we need steel plates, from which we make the edging for the windows, we weld it into place.

Step seven. Blower door installation
The blower door is made of steel plate, cut to size and fastened to the window using door hinges and welding. You will need to drill a hole in the door and cut the threads. We wrap the bolt and as a result, now we can conveniently adjust the gap to control the air supply. Ash will also accumulate, which we do not forget to clean.

Step eight. We make furnace doors
For the manufacture of firebox doors, sheet steel will also be needed, their difference is that the author decided to install glasses in them in order to observe how the fire burns. We cut out the windows in the doors. This can be done with a drill or grinder. To fix the glasses, we weld metal plates. We fasten the doors to the hinges using welding.

In the same step, you can install the locking mechanism for the doors. You will need sheet steel here. How all this is done can be clearly seen in the photo. It is advisable to make a handle from materials that conduct heat poorly.

Step nine. Chimney
In the upper disk, we have to cut a hole for the chimney. The author makes a hole in diameter so that the chimney fits tightly into it. The hole must have straight edges, otherwise it will be difficult to weld large gaps later.

Most people who know how to do many things with their own hands often use thick pipes when building a wood-burning stove for a house or a boiler for a bath. Such construction is very expensive and not everyone will be able to afford... But those who have a few unnecessary wheels from the car are much more fortunate. You can make a wonderful oven with help. What kind of stove can be made from old discs from a car discussed in this article.

Today, people with good imagination, intelligence and hands have come up with several types of homemade stove from car disks. They differ among themselves in the area of use. The oven can be used for:

  • Heating;
  • Baths;
  • Cooking kebabs and other food.

Older discs are great for this. due to the thickness of the metal from which they are made. If you make a stove from such an improvised material, then its body will serve for a very long time. And if you take discs from a truck, then the service life will increase two to three times... They are used for a bath, since they have a rather large thickness and size. And for this is the main factor. But from disks from an ordinary car, you can make an oven for or cooking barbecue.

Features of a homemade sauna stove

Any kind of a do-it-yourself sauna stove has a small size and ease of assembly. But these are rather advantages, since the degree of efficiency does not decrease in this case. For kindling in the hot season, you only need a few small logs... It is advisable to take oak wood blanks.

The oven will heat up quickly and cool down just as quickly. In the period of frost and cold weather, a stove made of rims will cool down for about two hours... During the heating process, you can immediately wash yourself, since carbon monoxide does not accumulate inside the bath.

This option is great for a bathhouse built in places with high humidity. When the ground freezes, it will raise the building. As a result, the masonry will deform, and in this case it may crack.

Necessary materials

If you know how to use a welding machine, then you can easily make a stove from truck disks with your own hands. First you need prepare all the necessary materials and tools:

  • Four wheel rims from a truck;
  • Thick sheets of metal;
  • Chimney;
  • Cement;
  • Metal rods or channels.

What are four cargo discs for?

In order to get a homemade sauna stove, you need to find four unnecessary rims from a truck. You can take discs from ZIL-130. Now they need to be stacked on top of each other. Each rim will carry a certain function.

  • The first disc acts as a cover for the combustion chamber. After assembly, a stove of this type should have a small brick firebox with opening doors, which, in turn, will go to the dressing room... In principle, you can not make a brick firebox, but simply place it in the very first disc. Only in this case it will be necessary to heat and throw up firewood through the steam room. And it will be much more difficult to make the doors in the rim housing.
  • Disc number two serves as a heater.
  • The third rim will serve as another heat exchanger, it will transfer energy to the steam room.
  • The last fourth disc will be water heating tank.

Assembly stages

Having prepared everything you need, you can proceed directly to work on assembling a sauna stove from car disks. Work takes place in several stages:

  1. We make a tank for heating water. To do this, you need to weld one rim to the other. The bottom of the metal sheet must be welded to the resulting water tank. A hole is cut in the bottom for the pipe. Subsequently, the pipe will need to be welded into the hole so that the fasteners are displaced to one side. The water tap is installed on the side of the rims. From above you need to cover everything with a metal lid. It can be welded.
  2. After making a container for water, you need to check its tightness. For this purpose, you need to fill the tank with water completely and see if water drops appear. Places where water leaks need to be boiled, but only after all the water has been poured out using the tap. When the tank passes the tightness test, it can be install in the bath itself.
  3. We construct a stove-furnace. The remaining two discs are useful for making the stove and firebox. Using a welding machine, you need to weld together two discs from the car. The result is a hollow cylinder inside. In the middle of the resulting structure, a lattice is installed and welded. Stones will be placed on it in the future. You will get a wonderful heater. You also need to make a door on the front of the two discs welded together. To do this, you need to make a small hole and attach a door to it.
  4. We make the foundation. must be reliable and voluminous. The bottom needs to be made of brick and filled with cement mortar. Knowledgeable people recommend making the reinforcement of the base of the grill from a metal alloy. It is necessary to improve rigidity.
  5. We make the brick part of the stove. After the base is completely dry, you can proceed to the installation of the brick part. This is where a clay solution comes in handy. Red brick works great for top layer... It is necessary to make the cavity of the blower, over which in the future the grate will be attached and also to make the doors. The firebox is partially made of bricks. The doors will be welded to the firebox.
  6. A solid structure will turn out if you strengthen it with channels made of metal. They need to be fixed at an angle to the upper metal platform. The entire finished structure must be connected to bricks at the top of the pipe.
