How to make a shelf for a phone and a modem. Making a shelf on the wall with your own hands

Phone shelves (simple and more complex)

Shelf No. 1. In fig. 1 is given general view of the shelf for the phone... The design of the shelf is quite simple. The main part of the shelf is a polished board cut out of a table top from an old table, a door from an unnecessary cabinet, a broken TV case. Shelf dimensions are not limited. The shelf that you see in fig. 1, allows you to place your phone and directory on it.

The curb along the edge of the shelf consists of a bracket (front) and a strip (back). Curb strips are cut out of sheet plexiglass with a thickness of 3 ... 4 mm. I prefer milky plexiglass. On one side, I process the blanks-strips with an emery cloth so that the glue connection is more reliable. Then I heat the strip-blank of the staple in the places of bending and, pressing it around the board, I form the staple itself, which, like a back plate, I glue to the shelf with PVA or Moment glue. You can additionally reinforce the curb with nails or small countersunk screws. To do this, holes are drilled in the curb strips in those places where the heads of nails and screws can then be masked with overhead decorating elements. The elements themselves are cut out on the above-mentioned device with a glowing wire and, after processing, are glued to the border.

The racks on which the shelf fencing is held are made either monolithic (made of plexiglass, ebonite, vinyl plastic and other plastics), or type-setting, gluing together from thin sheets of plexiglass. I do the type-setting racks like this. First, on a round mandrel, the diameter of which is equal to the diameter of the fence rod, I bend the bracket of the required size (Fig. 2, a), and then glue a plate of a suitable thickness into the bracket (Fig. 2, b). I process the rack to the specified dimensions, grind and polish. From the bottom of the stand (in the center of the base) I drill a hole with a diameter of 1.5 mm, into which I insert the heated end of the steel rod so that it protrudes to a length that should be less than the thickness of the board by 1.5 ... 2 mm. The diameter of the rod is a matter of taste for the author. For fencing, I use 8 ... 10mm aluminum wire from the cable. At the wire, I first bend (according to the size of the board) one end. On the remaining long part, I first put on a narrow stand, then a wide one, then a narrow one, after which I bend the other end of the wire. According to the number of racks in the board, blind holes with a diameter of 2.9 mm are drilled, into which one drop of any glue is injected, after which the assembled fence is installed on the board, lowering the protruding ends of the rods of the racks into the holes.

In the rear edge of the board, two holes are prepared with a depth of 150 mm for crumb pins. In the wall for the same pins, holes are drilled with a slight downward slope, wooden plugs are hammered into them, and pins are already inserted into the plugs (Fig. 3).

The slope is needed so that the front of the shelf is slightly higher than the rear (to compensate for the weight of the phone and the reference book). The diameter of the pins is 6 mm. All that remains is to put the shelf on the pins, put the phone on it, dial the number and say: “Hello! It's me."

Shelf number 2. For those who are not against painstaking work, I suggest a more complicated shelf design, but the shelf turns out to be much nicer. Such a shelf in working form is shown in Fig. 4. One side of the shelf is pressed against the wall, and two pins keep it from sliding down, as in the shelf described above. But here the pins are smaller in diameter and length, since they do not experience bending load, which in this case are taken on by the stretch chains. The shear load on the pins is also low. Brackets for chains are fastened to the wall with screws, and to the shelf - with screws or also screws. The fence posts vary in width. For the fence itself, I used a polished stainless steel tube. Aluminum rods with a diameter of 8 ... 10 mm are also suitable. And it is undesirable to install brass, bronze and steel rods, since the polishing on them quickly fades.

Chains are made of polished aluminum wire with a diameter of 4.5 ... 6 mm. The manufacture of decoration elements has already been discussed above. They are glued after assembly and. As a board, I adapted a piece of a polished table top (Fig. 5). I had to make boards myself from ordinary pine, aspen and linden lumber. I usually veneered such boards with real walnut or oak veneer and varnished them. Domestic thick plywood covered with veneer or Finnish plywood, which does not require coating, are also suitable as a board.

For the borders, I cut strips of 4-mm sheets of plexiglass with a dull milky color, for decorations I used black plexiglass of a thick transparent or dull color.

Shelf details are shown in Fig. 6 ... 8. The wall bracket (fig. 6) consists of a base and the bracket itself. The base is glued from two sheets of milky plexiglass. The shape of the base is to the taste of the author. The actual brackets of the wall brackets, as well as the brackets installed on the board, are made of milky plexiglass sheets and lined with strips of black plastic with a thick transparent or dull color along the edge. Decoration elements are made of the same plexiglass.

The wall brackets themselves are glued to their bases. In the brackets for the board, even before they are lined with black plastic, two holes are drilled each and an M4 thread is cut into them (Fig. 7). If both brackets are made of wood (with plastic and metal cladding), then it is better to fix them with screws.

Racks (Fig. 8) for the fence are made in three sizes: 60 mm long (one piece) and 40 and 25 mm long (two pieces each). The outer part of each rack is bent from black plexiglass, and the insert is glued from milky plexiglass and glued into the shell. After cutting, grinding and polishing, a through hole with a diameter of 2.5 mm is drilled in the lower part of the rack (in the center) and the heated end of the rod is inserted with force into it. After cooling down, do not remove the rod from the rack by the tractor.

Now let's start making the chain. Of course, if such a chain is available, then there is no need to make it. And if not, then it is not difficult and interesting to "forge" it yourself. How to do this is clear from Fig. 9. For the mandrel, take a piece of metal tube with an outer diameter of 16 mm and a length of 150 mm. Brass tubes from TV antennas are good for this purpose. The end of the tube 70 mm long is flattened (not completely). A wooden cork made of hardwood is driven into the round end of the tube until it stops and a radial hole with a diameter equal to the diameter of the wire (rod) for the chain is drilled (Fig. 9, a). The wire is usually selected from hard aluminum alloys such as duralumin. The end of the pre-polished bar is inserted into the hole and the bar is wound around the flattened part of the tube. The turns are made no more than ten, so that later it would be easier to saw the spiral (Fig. 9, b).

The tube with the wound spiral is clamped in a vice and the spiral turns are sawn from one side with a hacksaw (Fig. 10). As a result, the spring breaks up into separate oval links of the future chain.

The circuit assembly technology is shown in Fig. 11. At the link at the cut, the ends are set apart and there is a gap between them (Fig. 11, a). Carefully use a file to work on the ends of the links, after which the links are inserted into each other (Fig. 11, b), connecting them into a chain. Cardboard or aluminum corners are put on the jaws of the vise, each link is clamped in turn in the vise and the ends of the link are unfolded with an aluminum or wooden mandrel so that their ends exactly coincide (Fig. 11, c). To get rid of gaps in the links and give the latter an appropriate shape, the chain is placed on cardboard, felt, a soft board and the links are tapped with light blows from a mallet or rubber hammer until the gap disappears (Fig. 11, d). Note that the first and last rings of each chain are not ruled, as they still have to be connected to the double links of the brackets. There are nine single links in the chains for my shelf, but it is not necessary to make exactly this number of links, it all depends on the size of the shelf, the attachment point and the size of the links.

a - rough links of the chain; b - connection of links;
c and d - link editing.

The manufacture of double link brackets is shown in fig. 12. A piece of wire for the chain is inserted into the hole in the bracket and its ends are bent in one plane. It turns out a two-pronged fork with a width slightly larger than the width of the bracket. Into this plug, as shown in fig. 12, a, insert a wooden cylindrical mandrel, the diameter of which is equal to the width of the bracket. The ends of the fork are alternately bent around the mandrel, and the excess is bitten off. The result is a link with two bends, which increases its reliability. The protruding slightly bent ends of the link are processed with a file and bent to the central part with light blows of a mallet (Fig. 12, b). After that, the uncompressed links at the ends of the chains cling to the double links on the brackets and straighten with a mallet.

Now it remains to hang the shelf in the selected place. At a convenient height for you, two holes are drilled in the wall for the supporting rods (see Fig. 4). Wooden plugs are driven into the holes, and supporting rods are driven into the plugs. As a rod, for example, a long nail of the corresponding diameter with a removed head is suitable. The protruding part of the rod is at least 50 mm. The shelf is pushed on them with holes, the wall bracket is pressed against the wall so that the chain lifts the front edge of the shelf and the latter forms an acute angle with the horizontal plane (to compensate for the subsequent load on the shelf). Anyway, on all shelves, the front side should be raised so that things from the shelf do not roll onto the floor.

On the wall, marks are made along the holes in the base of the bracket itself. Holes are drilled along them, plugs are inserted into them and the brackets are fixed with screws. The tension of the chains is regulated by changing the length of the link, compressing it in one chain or another. After that, put your phone and other tinsel on the shelf.

Currently, there is a huge number of very diverse options for shelves in the hallway, and this is directly related to the ease of use, as well as beauty and style.

Also worth noting. That you can install such shelves without much difficulty with your own hands, having completed the development in advance or made it to an individual order.

In this article, we will look at the main purpose of this piece of furniture.

Do-it-yourself hallway shelves

In most cases, when creating such a product, the back wall is absent, because its main function is to support other objects - a support.

Depending on the orientation, they can be of several varieties:

  • horizontal - have an elongated shape in length, either with one surface (console), or with several (multi-tiered);
  • vertical - the narrow part includes several small shelves.

Corner options, floor and so-called shelves are no less popular. All of these varieties can have special glass display cases or mirrored backs.

Recently, shelves for shoes in the hallway with built-in lighting are considered especially fashionable.

When creating a shelf in the hallway with your own hands, a combination of several options can be used at once, which is shown in the photo of the shelf in the hallway, will give your hallway a great singularity and originality.

All types of furniture items directly depend on individual needs and the amount of free space. So, for example, if you have a dressing room, you can limit yourself to a minimum set of furniture or even a few hooks.

In any case, a shoe rack in the hallway is a must. The design can be created completely independently. There can be several methods for placing this item.

Here, an important factor will be the total number of pairs of shoes. You can install it as follows:

  • vertically;
  • horizontally.

As for the material for manufacturing, plastic is considered the most optimal and suitable. It has a number of positive and significant qualities:

  • lack of ability to deform;
  • does not change when exposed to water;
  • ease of care.

If necessary and desired, you can combine plastic with other materials.

If you wish, you can install a bench in the hallway with shelves or decorate the shelves with doors, but in this case, you will need to take care of sufficient ventilation in the upper and lower parts.

To save common space, you can use a completely unusual version of the shelves, on which the shoes are located at a certain angle.

In this case, the depth of the shelf will directly depend on the size of your household's shoes. Also, in this case, installing a hanger with a shelf in the hallway would be a good solution.

Hallway wall shelves

The shelves located on the wall surface are equally useful and functional. In this room, you not only go to the main part of the apartment or house, but also pay attention to your appearance.

A great addition would be the use of a mirror with a shelf in the hallway. Such furniture also has its own shape features:

  • elongated - makes it possible to display a person in full growth;
  • small size - framed in an unusual frame, similar to a baguette for paintings.

The depth can vary and depend on the total number of things that will be placed on it.

In order for the things that are stored in the hallway to have a certain harmony, the common space can be divided into so-called zones by means of special partitions.

The hanger can also be a clothes rack in the hallway. It has one sufficiently long surface on which the required number of hooks is located for direct placement and storage of clothes.

In this case, it is important to take into account the material for manufacturing, since it should be as strong as possible and not be deformed by gravity.

In the upper part, you can place boxes or wicker baskets, which, if necessary, can be easily removed and used for their intended purpose.

Another option is the corner shelf. It has a relatively small surface with a certain number of holes.

In the lower part there is a container for collecting water, which makes such a piece of furniture in demand in any season.

Photo of the shelves in the hallway

The shelf for the phone is made by hand quite simply and quickly, if you wish. There are several options for making it, and each master carries out the entire manufacturing process to his own taste.

It is better to make the edges on the shelf rounded so as not to injure yourself on the corners.

For work, it is most convenient to use chipboard, although sometimes an edged board and 18 mm furniture board are used.

In the end, the board will be more beautiful, but the complexity of the plan will increase significantly, besides, here you will need to wait about 36 hours for the varnish to dry (drying is accompanied by a poisonous smell along the way), which is not necessary when working with chipboard.

Traditional option

  1. Roulette.
  2. Chipboard.
  3. Screwdriver.
  4. Electric jigsaw.
  5. Pencil.
  6. Paper and scissors (for making a stencil).

In the traditional version, a rectangular shelf for a telephone is made with an additional shelf for a telephone directory.

The colors of laminated chipboard are very diverse, so everyone can choose a color for their interior.

For the side shields, 2 identical stripes are required, each of which is 23-25 cm wide, 30-35 cm high.If desired, the upper corners are rounded on the front side, which will not only increase the decorative component, but also protect your hands from accidental hits on the corners when trying to quickly pick up the phone.

To round off, mark the desired cut on the slab, then duplicate it on a parallel slab. All marks are made with a simple pencil so that you can erase them later. The cut is done with a jigsaw.

The width of the future shelf is usually 35-40 cm, and the depth of the plates installed in it remains with the original 23-25 cm.

The bottom shelf is made in such a way that even a fairly thick reference book, the thickness of which is 8-9 cm, can fit into it without any problems, i.e. the actual interior height will be 11 cm. A third horizontal plank is not required.

For assembly, you initially need to take measurements and drill holes in those places where horizontal floors will be installed. After that, furniture screws are screwed into the holes. If you do not make the holes initially, but immediately turn the screw, then you can split the tree once or twice.

Modern design

Here, the process will be simple at all, regardless of whether the shape is round or charcoal, in the end it will have a result. Sometimes the masters embody even intricate ideas that not every designer would come up with. The only thing that this shelf is very conditionally inferior to the classic one is the lack of space for a reference book, but this is compensated by free access to electronic analogs from any medium.

To implement the idea, you will need 3 plates:

  • 1 plate: length 35 cm, height from 10 cm, thickness 1.8-2 cm - backboard;
  • 2, the slab will have the same thickness and height, but the length will be only 17 cm - a stiffener;
  • 3 plate with the same thickness, 35 cm long and 20 cm wide - this is directly the stand for the phone.

It is quite simple to connect them, you need 2 furniture screws in each joint. For the stiffener, you will need to go from the back side of the load-bearing shield, which will ideally hide the work. And for the top panel, there are 2 options:

  1. Drilling only to the load-bearing part, which makes the stiffener an extremely supportive element, which is adhered to by the glue.
  2. Drilling not only to the supporting part, but also to the rib, but then you have to carefully hide the joint, which is very difficult when working for the first time.

The only difficult element of this shelf is that the basic structure must be decorated somehow, so that a wooden square with an unfinished crosshair does not appear on the wall. The support bar can be rounded or cut at 60 degrees, the upper one is traditionally rounded to a semicircle or semi-oval.

What could be more commonplace than a regular wall shelf? But good imagination and skillful hands can work wonders with such a simple object, turning it into a beautiful element of your home's interior design.

One of the techniques for decorating a room is using shelves.

All materials have their own advantages and disadvantages. The following are suitable for wall shelves.

  • Timber lumber is the most common and cheapest - it is easy to cut into pieces, process and paint.
  • Metal is not always suitable, it is more difficult to process it at home, the shelves from it do not fit well into the home interior, are prone to corrosion.
  • Glass - looks great in the interior of any room, makes the shelves visually lighter and more airy, but due to its fragility, it requires special tools and equipment for cutting complex holes and grinding.
  • Plastic is the lightest material that can replace all the previous ones.

Shelves are hung on the wall, placed on the floor, some are hung from the ceiling or beams.

FOR YOUR INFORMATION! A person's fantasy in the choice of material for shelves on the wall is inexhaustible - old suitcases, TV cases, water pipes and corners. Even ... trouser belts can be used as fasteners.

More often than not, they are functional.

Buy or make a shelf on the wall with your own hands

What is the advantage of homemade wall shelves over purchased ones? Furniture stores offer options for all occasions - bookshelves, for dishes, for phones, for flowers. But in defense of homemade products, the following arguments can be made:

  • the purchased shelf does not always correspond to your ideas of beauty - either the color is not suitable, or the shape is awkward;
  • the dimensions of the purchased product do not fit into the size of your room;
  • the height or width of the shelves does not match the size of the things you want to place on them;
  • after the repair, pieces of good material and fasteners remained - it's a pity to throw it away, but there is no desire and place to store it.

But best of all - they are easy to make yourself, with your own hands.

ON A NOTE! Making shelves on the wall with your own hands is often cheaper than purchasing them in the store of a well-known furniture company.

They are made of wood, plywood, laminated chipboard, fiberboard, there are glass shelves.

Shelves are different

Before assembling the shelf, determine what type it will be. Furniture craftsmen got the hang of making wall shelves for all occasions:

  • open - without side walls, front doors and back walls;
  • closed - in essence, such shelves are miniature hanging cabinets, differing from them in less weight, depth and height;
  • corner - located at the junction of two walls, can be both for the inner corner and for the outer;
  • asymmetric - the arrangement of the shelves is devoid of an axis of symmetry, provided that the functionality is preserved;
  • suspended - harnesses, cables, dense fabric materials, belts are used as suspensions for the shelves, and the ceiling is used as a support;
  • decorative - designed to beautifully arrange interesting things.

The same materials are used as racks, but they are also made of metal, plastics and other completely incredible things - for example, pipes or bottles.

Module - a universal solution

The easiest way is to assemble wall shelves, consisting of side, top and bottom walls, fastened together with self-tapping screws or furniture fittings. Make such "modules" of different lengths and heights as required and fix them on the wall in the right order. This option is well suited for making bookshelves.

In living rooms, it is not so important what material the shelf is made of. It is important that its design is in the same style as the interior.

You will need the following materials and tools:

  • a board with a thickness of 16-20 mm and a width of 150-180 mm - it can be pine, MDF, plywood or chipboard.
  • self-tapping screws;
  • screwdriver;
  • building level;
  • furniture hacksaw for wood.

Even the functionality is not always important: some play an exclusively decorative role. If there is one or two items on them.

Marking and sawing

The height and width of the shelf are freely selectable. If the ends of the upper and lower walls rest against the edges of the side walls, then, when determining their height, it is necessary to make an amendment for twice the thickness of the board.

Their role is to give the interior of the home a special style and color.

ATTENTION! Use a hand-held circular saw or jigsaw to cut the board. Their use allows you to make the cut surface smooth.

If we talk about shelves in technical rooms - the kitchen and the bathroom, in particular, then the requirements for practicality are almost everywhere added to considerations of aesthetics.

When marking parts for corner wall shelves, the upper and lower walls are made of two boards with oblique ends. Their connection must fit exactly into the corner for which they are intended. The surface of the ends is lubricated with wood glue, the boards are connected and tightened with clamps until completely dry. Additionally, you can fasten the corners with self-tapping screws.

Workpiece processing

Before installation, the wooden parts of the shelves must be sanded and coated with a protective coating. The wood can be stained and varnished. However, such a shelf does not always fit into the overall color scheme of the interior. Then it is better to apply a primer and paint it in the desired color.

For safety net, in the place where the self-tapping screw is screwed into the lower part of the sidewall, you need to drill holes in advance with a thin drill.

Assembling the shelf

To fasten the walls with self-tapping screws, you need to mark the holes. From the end edge of the bottom wall, measure a distance equal to half the thickness of the side wall and draw a line parallel to the cut. Marks are made on it for the drill, stepping back five centimeters to the left and right. The opposite end is also marked. Make holes. Fix the side walls of the shelf with self-tapping screws. The top wall of the shelf is marked and fastened in the same way.

In order for the shelf to be even, and subsequently it does not warp, in the lower part, on the back side, you can fix the location of the parts with flat window corners.

ON A NOTE! For fixing the walls of the shelf, other methods can also be used - wooden dowels with wood glue, special fastening accessories - screed corners, eccentric screeds.

Despite the fact that electronic devices are replacing printed editions from human life, many people nevertheless carefully keep books and magazines that are dear to their hearts, the storage location of which often leaves much to be desired.

Installing the shelf on the wall

It would seem that nothing is easier. In fact, this is a crucial stage. You do not want all your efforts to improve your home collapse at once?

The easiest way is to use a hinged corner for shelves. The upper eyelet is attached to the wall with a dowel, the lower one - to the shelf with a self-tapping screw or a bolt with a nut and washer.

IMPORTANT! When loading the shelf from 20 to 50 kg, use brackets. Mark the holes on the wall using a building level.

Hands must be clean, because untreated wood is very easily soiled.

The dimensions of the shelf will depend on how large the books will be stored on it.

Manufacturing of honeycomb shelves

The shelf of the original form requires you to show imagination and a little more diligence, but your efforts will pay off with interest - the original product will revive the interior appearance of the room.

  1. We cut the board into 15 pieces 300 mm long with a cutting angle of 30 °.
  2. Making the first honeycomb. To do this, we glue the hexagonal section and strengthen its corners with self-tapping screws.
  3. All other "honeycomb" shelves are made without one wall.
  4. We fold them on the floor in such a way that the missing face is replaced by the wall of the adjacent section. We fasten together with glue and self-tapping screws.
  5. If there are segments of sufficient length, then shelves can be made inside the "honeycomb" itself.

Each part needs to be processed with a grinder, only then it can be fastened with other parts into a single structure.

IMPORTANT! To avoid cracks and distortions when tightening self-tapping screws, pre-drill holes with a diameter of 1.2 mm or more.

Of course, you can't do without a tool. The minimum is a wood saw and a Phillips screwdriver.

Strength requirements are imposed on bookshelves: they hold significant weight.

Bookshelf with hidden fittings

If your taste is offended by the look of the hardware, then you can make a small open shelf with hidden hardware.

First of all, you need to think over the dimensions of the shelf being made and decide on the place where it will be located, only after that purchase the boards.

It is not uncommon to see people decorate their homes with artificial flowers, but still nothing can replace the freshness of a natural, beautiful plant.

This requires:

  • wooden beams with a thickness of 25-30 mm with a well-polished surface;
  • a board of the same thickness, made from the same material;
  • pins - cylindrical pins made of wood;
  • joiner's glue;
  • dowels and screws.

Thanks to the modern universal tool, the DIYer can make almost any shelf, even in an apartment, let alone work in his workshop.

The assembly of such a shelf consists of the following steps.

  1. Saw the bar and the board into pieces of equal length.
  2. Using a template, coinciding holes are made in the side of the bar and the future shelf, the diameter and total depth of which should coincide with the length of the dowels.
  3. The timber is attached to the wall using dowels and self-tapping screws.
  4. The pins greased with glue are carefully driven into the holes of the timber.
  5. The surfaces of the timber and the shelves, which will be connected with their help, are also lubricated with glue.
  6. The shelf is "put on" on the pins and pressed tightly. For safety, you can gently tap the entire length of the side of the shelf with a rubber mallet.

Of course, you immediately want to make something voluminous and beautiful, which is quite natural, but first you can try your hand at making a simple but neat shelf.

This shelf will look like a natural extension of the wall of your room. Just do not load it with a lot of items.

Moreover, these products may be the first self-made things. It's really simple.

Decor is everything

You have collected and hung the shelves on the wall. But they look unpresentable - too empty or, on the contrary, heaped up with books and other trifles. To make the wall shelves in the interior of your room look aesthetically pleasing and eye-catching, follow these simple rules.

  • The law of three colors - one dominant color for the shelf and two complementary ones for the items on it. It is desirable that the color of the shelf contrasts with the objects standing on it - this way they will look more expressive.
  • Control chaos with triads. Arrange items with similar colors on different shelves so that they are on the tops of imaginary triangles.
  • Give more air - some things, especially large ones, require more free space on the shelf.
  • Little things need a good background. For example, a figurine standing on a shelf next to a luxurious vase must be moved away from a spectacular neighbor and placed against the background of a small painting in watercolor technique.
  • Try to place objects that are similar in size and color to an imaginary vertical or horizontal axis of symmetry.
  • The higher the shelf, the lighter the items should be. It is advisable to place all massive objects on the lower ones, and light ones on the upper shelves.
  • Do not forget about functionality - on the shelf located at the level of your eyes, place those things that you most often use.

A simple design is good: you can make any shelves yourself.

Feel free to experiment. The wall shelf can be made from any material, but lumber is the best choice. Use hanging brackets or brackets for installation. And do not be lazy to beautifully place books and vases on them.

Structurally, most of the shelves consist of shelves proper and lintels.

VIDEO: DIY shelf (how to make a shelf out of wood)

Earlier, when the world of technology was not so strongly developed, people used their home phones. And in almost every house there was a specific place where he was. Usually a convenient regular phone shelf served as a place. It provided a place for a telephone book and a pen.

Today, when cell phones are in trend, home phones have receded into the background. But they still need a certain place in the house. More often, the device is installed in the hallway. But many, for convenience, carry it to the living room and put it by the sofa.

Varieties of shelves for your home phone

If there is a wardrobe in the hallway, then a shelf for a home telephone set may already be allocated in it. And in the living room, a coffee table can serve as a phone stand. But it happens that there is no definite place for the phone, in this case you need to purchase or make with your own hands a special shelf for a home telephone set.

So, there are shelves:

  • Shelf for a home phone from laminated chipboard and chipboard. Complex form - with a box... This design is convenient in that a box is built into it for the necessary, small things. On the side there is a special compartment for a telephone notebook, and at the bottom there is a shelf for something you need - the same cell phone.

    Double wall-mounted chipboard phone shelf... Such a stand for a telephone set was common during the Soviet era. It does not have any boxes, complex elements. Just a base with a phone book compartment at the bottom. It has a convenient size that allows it to fit on any model of the device.

  • Wooden stand - a shelf for a landline telephone with cut-out ornament... This can be ordered from a professional wood craftsman. It costs a little more than a regular shelf, but is made to order. The quality and beauty of this design pays off. It will serve you for a very long time.

  • Glass base for the phone on wooden corners with a beautiful ornament... Unusual exclusive option. Such corners can be ordered in the workshop, and you can find a piece of glass of the required size yourself. And from these materials with your own hands to create a wall stand for the telephone.

    Forged metal home phone base... This base model will look beautiful on the wall. The bottom hooks can be used to hang clothes. And the top serves as a shelf for the apparatus. You can order one from a metal craftsman. Such a design will take longer than the standard one, but then it will delight the eye for a long time.

    This design is a little tricky to execute. But you can do just this with your own hands. The main thing is to make the correct calculations and have the necessary tools. Above there will be a base for a home telephone set. There is a vertical compartment for a telephone directory at the bottom of the wall, and just a compartment for keys next door. More often it is in the corner that there is an opportunity to set aside a place for the phone, in this case the shelf of this option will be just right.

    This option is ideal if the apartment has a suitable free space for it. It is convenient because in case of an urgent call you can take it, and if the conversation is going to be long, then sit quietly to talk. The drawer can be used to store small essentials. And a shelf above it for storing a telephone notebook. You can store shoes and slippers on the shelf under the seat. There is a wide variety of just such models.

What can you make a shelf for your home phone

There are many shelf options. You can buy a ready-made shelf in a furniture store, and an individual one - as you like, do it yourself or order from a master. Just an individual one will cost more.

Material used for making:

  • From old unnecessary furniture, from unnecessary boards.
  • Made of plastic.
  • Made of metal with forged elements.
  • Made of wood.
  • From chipboard, chipboard.
  • Composite glass and metal, or glass and wood.

The main thing is to have desire and imagination, if you decide to do everything yourself. If you do not know where to start, then consult a professional, or consult with friends.

Do-it-yourself shelf for a landline phone

To make a shelf of the simplest option for a telephone set, we need:

  • A small sheet of chipboard or chipboard.
  • Metal corner.
  • Jigsaw.
  • PVC edge.
  • Glue.
  • Drill, self-tapping screws.
  • Screwdriver or screwdriver.

It is convenient to install such a structure in an unsightly place that will not be very conspicuous.

Getting started:

  • We take a piece of chipboard and use a jigsaw to cut out the desired shape (round, square) according to the finished dimensions.
  • We glue the edges with PVC - an edge so that irregularities and grins are not visible after cutting with a jigsaw.
  • We attach a corner to the finished shelf and use a pencil to mark the attachment points to the wall and to the shelf.
  • We drill holes on the wall with a drill and on the stand too.
  • On the back of the shelf, use a hacksaw to make small grooves for the wires.
  • We attach the shelf to the wall and lay the telephone wire.
  • Using a screwdriver, we attach the corner to the shelf, then to the wall.
  • The shelf is ready.

This is the cheapest option. The same shelf can be made of metal.

The main thing is that the base is installed efficiently and in the right place. You need to install it in a place where you are often located and often talk on the phone.

If you want an exclusive shelf, it is better to order patterned corners from a wood or metal master. You can order a ready-made structure. Choose a construction model so that it pleases and serves you for many years.
