Rank balancer

Players are selected to the team according to their personal rank, which they receive for effective combat in Ranked Battles.

Ranks

The main goal of Ranked Battles is to earn ranks. The more often you win and the more experience you earn, the higher your rank and the more valuable the rewards.

Ranks are earned in one stage. This means that at the end of one stage, all the received ranks are reset, and you start earning ranks again in the next stage. But don't worry, the information about the ranks earned is saved and at the end of the season it helps to determine who will be the winner of the Ranked Battles.

Ranks are divided into two types: personal rank and vehicle rank.

Personal rank

You can earn 5 personal ranks, from Rank I to Rank V.

As a rule, ranks are awarded for victorious battles, and in case of defeat, the rank can be lost. Only Personal rank I and V are fireproof - they cannot be lost within one stage, even if defeated.

Vehicle rank

Vehicle ranks become available only after obtaining Personal Rank V.

Unlike personal ranks, the number of vehicle ranks is not limited, but for each vehicle ranks are earned separately. What is good, all ranks of the vehicle are non-combustible - they cannot be lost even if they are defeated on the battlefield.

Chevrons

To get a personal rank or a car rank, you need to earn a certain amount chevrons... The higher the rank you strive for, the more chevrons you need to get it.

Starting from Vehicle Rank II, you will need 7 chevrons to advance to each subsequent vehicle rank.

In most cases, one victory in battle will earn you one chevron. When you accumulate the required number of chevrons, you get the next rank. However, if you lose, you can lose chevrons, which ultimately can lead to a loss of rank.

Rules for the accrual and write-off of chevrons

  • Accrued. You get a chevron if you are in the top 12 of the winning team or in the top 3 of the losing team in terms of experience earned.
Without changes. You do not receive a chevron if you are ranked 13th, 14th, or 15th on the winning team.
Written off. You lose a chevron if you are in the 4-15 position on the losing team.
If the fight ends in a draw, then both teams are considered losers: players in the top 3 of both teams receive a chevron, the rest lose a chevron.

Rank points

Rank points are awarded for advancement in personal ranks and vehicle ranks.

If you received a personal rank, lost it and earned it again within the same stage, rank points are not re-accrued.

Unlike the ranks themselves, the rank points are not reset at the end of each stage. The total number of points you earned determines whether you will be included in the Ranked Battles rating table, where you will be in it during each stage, and whether you will enter one of the prize leagues at the end of the season.

The number of points awarded for each personal rank and vehicle rank may differ from season to season. Follow the news on the official portal of the game to keep abreast of the current conditions of the competition.

Leaders of the season

The most experienced and skilled players will be included in the Ranked Battles leaderboard called “Season Leaders”. Your position in the ranking within each stage is determined by the number of rank points: the more points you earned, the higher your position.

But not everything is so simple: in order to be among the leaders of the season at each stage, you need to receive a certain number of rank points. For each stage, the minimum number of rank points required to enter the rating table is determined. Read the news on the portal and stay tuned to stay up to date with the current Ranked Battles rules.

At the end of the competition, the top 50% of the season leaders are distributed across three prize leagues. The other 50% of the Leaderboards of the season do not make it to leagues.

SEASON LEADERS

If you are a member of one of the prize leagues, you will receive a reward for the season. League I gets the best prizes.

Final League rewards

Ranked Battles 2019

The gameplay has changed significantly in the new season of Ranked Battles. Reworked the progression system and improved the mechanics of gaining experience, making it more fair and transparent. One thing remains unchanged: the player, as before, will be able to receive many awards and additional prizes, including a unique Tier IX vehicle.

Redesigned progression system

Ranked Battles are divided into three consecutive interconnected seasons, each with a ton of rewards and bonuses. To help you achieve great results, we have completely redesigned the progression system, dividing it into four divisions.

Each division consists of 15 ranks. Progress across divisions is consistent, starting with qualifying and ending in the first. You cannot drop out of the division. After completing them all, you get into one of three leagues: Bronze, Silver or Gold. A specific league is determined by your combat effectiveness (the ratio of the number of chevrons received to the number of battles fought).

  • The top 20% of players will end up in the hardest Gold League to get into.
  • The next 30% of players will play in the Silver League.
  • The remaining 50% will go to the Bronze League.

The first thousand players to enter the league from the divisions are "sprinters", those who have managed to show outstanding skill. They will receive seasonal rewards similar to the Golden League regardless of their position at the end of the season.

In the new season, we have reduced the number of chevrons required to reach the next rank. This makes it easier to gain ranks, but does not take away all the difficulties of the regime.

Accelerating progress

To speed up progress, a new mechanic has been introduced: Bonus Battles. This is analogous to the first victory of the day: the number of chevrons received will be doubled (two instead of one, four instead of two).

Bonus battles will be awarded as you progress through divisions. The number of battles depends on your effectiveness in the division.

If you have a Bonus Battle and you lose, this Bonus Battle will not be counted and you can try again.

Role-playing experience

A lot of the comments about Ranked Battles were about the distribution of Combat XP. And here we have improved a little by introducing a system of role-playing experience. It takes into account the peculiarities of the game use of individual tanks and rewards experience for effective actions in the framework of the gameplay role of a particular vehicle.

Here's how it works for heavy and medium tanks:

  • Fighters at close range (Maus, IS-7, WZ-111 model 5A) will earn experience by blocking and dealing damage at a distance of less than 300 meters.
  • Medium tanks (M48A5 Patton, E 50 Ausf. M) will gain additional experience for dealing damage to the enemy in the field of view (according to their intelligence), as well as for blocked damage.

Roleplaying and gaining role-playing experience is important. But do not forget that you are part of the team and your main goal is to win!

Disabling damage to allies

To prevent players from being distracted from the game, the damage to allies and their destruction with a shot and ram was disabled. However, artillery can still stun allies, for which it will receive an experience penalty.

Seasonal awards

Here's what awaits you:

  • Loans
  • Gold
  • Unique styles depending on the league (for being in a specific league at the end of the season).

A new mode and a new season of ranked battles only for tenth levels, after many experiments, to create something new but in the old way (perhaps this is the ranking of players by skill?).

Battles, as usual, will be fought 15 tanks on 15 tanks, no platoons, pure skill (skill). In ranked battles, the balancer will distribute the players by Ranks, equal rank versus equal rank, for the same condition, but there will also be plus / minus one rank and this is normal.

Ranked Battles 2019 - New Season

Ranks in WoT

Such battles will take place in a standard format: 2 teams of 15 players. The peculiarity is that only tier 10 tanks will participate in the battles.

The battle conditions correspond to the random battle mode: the winner is the team that completely destroyed the rival tanks or captured the base.

However, this is where the analogy ends. The key feature of Ranked Battles is personal results. The essence of the idea is as follows: showing high performance in the game, tankers will move up the ranking, increasing their rank, and receiving interesting awards and prizes.
If a tanker is in the top 12 winners or in the top 3 of the losing roster, he gets a chevron. Chevrons are the key to achieving the next rank. To rise to the first step in the rating and become the owner of the first rank, one chevron is enough, but then the conditions will gradually become more difficult.

It should be clarified that ranks 1 and 5 are kind of checkpoints that preserve game progress. In fact, these are the starting points from which players can move further in the rating system.

Curiously, rank 5 is the highest possible for an account. Having reached the top, the rank of the vehicle begins to increase. The same principle applies here: a personal contribution to the outcome of a battle raises the tank's rank.
You win in ranked battles, you progress and get new ranks. Number of ranks 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 - rank.
You are losing - the first top 3 players of the losing team, not only do not lose their rank, but also continue to move up to reach the highest rank. The first and fifth rank are non-combustible.
What if I got 5 rank in World of Tanks? New opportunities open up for players, ranks of cars appear. The more ranks of cars you farm, the higher place you will take in the final table.

Ranked Battles Season

Ranked Battles are divided into seasons. The seasons of Ranked Battles were specially made not very long - only a MONTH. Ranked battles are divided into stages during the season. Where after each stage the results will be reset. At the end of each season, a table of the best players is formed - these are LEAGUES, there will be three leagues in total. The best players will enter the first league, some in the middle in the second league and the rest in the third. All rewards in Ranked Battles will be awarded based on the results of the seasons.

The main reward for ranked battles will be special boxes, which will contain boosters, credits, free experience, even in-game gold. Especially for ranked battles, a new reward is being added in the form of BONS, which will give additional motivation to players. We worked to the smallest detail and took into account the experience of previous regimes.

Bonds can be used to buy two types of rewards:
- improve the characteristics of the crew, but there is only one battle.
- increased performance of conventional equipment installed on the tank. Will be very expensive and in BONES.
It will be possible to use pre-combat instructions and advanced equipment together in order to maximize the strength of the tank. In the future, the possibility of adding BONS to other modes of World of Tanks is being considered - a matter of time.

Changes in the economy. In Ranked Battles, an additional funding system is provided. Players are credited with the standard number of credits based on the results of the battle, plus financial bonuses for getting the next rank and completing special LBZ are added to this. Added to this are prize equipment and personal reserves. When the season of Ranked Battles comes to an end, participants are awarded Bonds - a new currency that cannot be purchased in the in-game store. The booms are spent on the purchase of modernized equipment and "Pre-Combat Briefing", which significantly increase the efficiency of the crew and the vehicle as a whole. The number of bonuses awarded depends on the player's efficiency.

In the future, there will most likely be new ways to earn BONS, but so far in update 9.19 it is planned that ranked battles will be the only way.

Booms- new currency WoT, earned exclusively in the Republic of Belarus. Bonds cannot be bought, but can only be earned in the game, which are credited after the end of the season / stage. Bonds can be spent on newly added equipment in patch 9.19.

Improved equipment - increased performance of conventional equipment installed on a tank. Will be very expensive and in BONES.

Improved equipment purchased for booms, where you cannot use two identical equipment on one tank. Installed in slots with common equipment. The cost in bonds is high, and it is also withdrawn for 10 gold units.

Pre-battle instructions - improves the characteristics of the crew, but only one battle is valid. Also, a new slot is being added for additional BAFS (pre-battle instructions), something similar to additional gold equipment adding bonuses to equipment or crew, but only for one battle.
Pre-battle instructions - for equipment.
Increases the effect of installed equipment.
Pre-battle instructions - for crew.
It helps to pump a perk for one battle or improve an established one, but you cannot get two effects at the same time.

Use all introduced innovations for bonds for absolutely any class of equipment and level, for all types of battles.

The second season of Ranked Battles has started, in which, according to the developers, the mistakes of the first beta season have been taken into account. Is everything so rosy? Not really, to put it mildly. And now I'll put it on the shelves. The article will be especially relevant for players who have not yet played in the new season.

1. Changes in the accrual of chevrons
In the first season, chevrons were given for defeat, and getting a high rank was not even close to a problem. Now, for a defeat, the player will not receive a chevron. Moreover, in total, 15 people previously left the battle as cheerful - 12 from the winning team and 3 from the losing team received a chevron. Now this number has decreased by a third - 10.
My words are well confirmed by statistics - after the first day, the top player had 5 rank points in his asset, but last season, the inhabitants of our game on the first day scored 10-15 points.

2. A large number of points to get into the leaderboard.
As you know from the 1st beta season, in order for you, the player, in principle to be displayed in the statistics of leagues, you need to score a certain number of points. Last season it was 16 - roughly 4 points per stage. Now 12 - also 4 points for the week of the stage, because there were 3 weeks, not 4.
Everything seems to be the same as it was? But this problem follows from the previous one, you will spend at least three times more time to achieve the results that you had last season.

3. More chevrons for grades.
In the first season, to upgrade the 5th rank, it was required to get 19 chevrons, in the new - 25. In particular, to upgrade from the 4th rank to the 5th you need to earn 9 chevrons. Quite a large number. Now only a small part of the players, referring to their skill and the ability to spend tens of hours in the game, will be able to reach rank 5 in one stage.

4. Inaccessibility of the mode for non-tricked players.
If earlier, a 47% player spent a lot of hours to raise the coveted 5th rank, playing several times more battles than, for example, a 55% player, then this season such players are unlikely to take the 3rd rank. I think, for any adequate player, it is obvious that 48% - 50% is the most frequently encountered statistics among players, and this huge mass of people from now on will not get into the leaders of the season, and thousands of hours spent in the game, as was the case in season 1, will not help ... From this, an easy conclusion follows that at the end of the season, a much smaller number of people will remain in the leaders of the season than it was in the first beta season, which, unlike the current one, had good PR from both developers and streamers and even e-sportsmen.

5. Massive "standing" of players.
This problem has not gone away, unfortunately. Last season, it was not uncommon to see Type 5 Heavy players standing behind everyone and shooting damage at the end of the battle, getting into the top 3 and taking the chevron. Now players are striving to get into the top 5, and they don't really care about the fate of the battle: victory is great, loss is fine. This is especially noticeable from rank 3. Apparently, even such changes in the regulations are not enough to force the players to act as a team.

As they say, criticize - offer.

First, you need to start by editing the number of points to get into the leagues. It seems that the developers simply forgot about it, and by default they pushed 4 points into the stage, forgetting about the introduced changes to the chevron accrual system. 12 points is too much. This number should be reduced, 9 points will be enough, 3 points per stage, respectively.

Second. Reduce the number of chevrons required to upgrade to a new rank. In the tougher realities of the second season of Ranked Battles, taking 9 chevrons on the way from the fourth to the fifth rank is a rather tangible problem. This can take 3-4 days even for very strong players, which seems unthinkable when you think about the first beta season.

And the third point is "equalize the players." In DotA, CS and most other MMOs, if you lose, everyone will receive a rating decrease, regardless of your contribution to the battle, and similarly if you win, all players will rise up in the rating. Tanks seem to need something similar. This will somehow make the players move.

That's all, the end. We believe and expect that the third season will be able to surprise us, at least not to disappoint. Thanks for reading.
