How to correctly size mosquito nets. How to measure the correct size for a mosquito net

How to measure a plastic window for installing a mosquito net

It is not uncommon for a mosquito net to be ordered some time after the windows have been installed. In fact, if new double-glazed windows were delivered in the fall, it might well be possible to postpone the cost of a mosquito. But, when the owners still decide to order this necessary window accessory, they are faced with a problem. Manufacturing companies do not make standard meshes. Each of them is made to order, strictly according to the size of the window.

In such a situation, there is three options .

  • Order a mosquito in the same company that did your windows. Perhaps your order with size data remained in their archive.
  • Call a measurer at home. This means a waste of time and expense to pay for the departure of the master.
  • Measure the window for the mosquito net yourself.

The third option seems to be the most convenient. But before making measurements, you need to know a few subtleties.

As a rule, frame mosquito nets are installed on plastic windows. They are fairly inexpensive and easy to manufacture. Their design is simple - a fiberglass mesh with a 1 mm mesh is attached to an aluminum frame with a section of 10 * 25mm. But these accessories differ in the installation method. Depending on the manufacturing company, you may be offered different types of mosquitoes:

Before measuring the light opening, decide what type of mosquito you are going to order.

The most effective and durable is the plunger mount. The mesh frame is attached to the window with nickel-plated spring pins. They provide a snug fit to the structure and aesthetics outside and inside the room.

Z-shaped mounts- the second most frequently used option. Here the mosquito structure is attached to the window frame using special metal brackets adjacent to the window seal. This mount is strong enough. But after a couple of years of use, the staples may loosen and gaps appear between the mesh frame and the window.

The third type of fasteners - "pockets"- it is used quite rarely, since it cannot provide a sufficiently snug fit of the mosquito protection. The mesh for this method is made with a margin in the width and height of the window opening. Here, for accurate measurements, it is still better to contact a specialist. In two other cases, you are quite capable of calculating the dimensions of this product yourself.

To determine the size of the future mosquito net, you will need a tape measure. Open the window and measure the width and height of the skylight. Measurements must be made along the edge of the sealing gum, which is supplied with all plastic windows. Record your results exactly, down to the millimeter.

Product dimensions are calculated as follows:

To understand whether there is enough space around the frame for mounting a mosquito, it is also necessary to take into account the installation depth of the window frame. If from the side of the sash it is wound too tightly under a quarter, difficulties may arise when installing the mesh. Installation will be difficult even if the slopes of the plastic window are made too close to the frame edge. Consider these factors when deciding your mesh type. If the frame design does not allow z-mounts to be installed, you can order a ram mesh.

Installation of a mosquito net on the pins is possible if the bevel of the outer protrusion of your window frame does not have a rounded shape and too large an angle of inclination. Since the spring pins are attached to the very profile of the window frame, with a strong bevel, they will not be able to provide sufficient tightness of the parts.

To calculate the dimensions of the future mesh, measure the height and width of the skylight, as in the previous case. Further, subtract 6 mm from the obtained dimensions. This is to leave room for the sealing brush, which is mounted around the perimeter of the mesh frame during installation. The received data can be reported to the office where you are going to place an order for a mosquito.

It makes sense to order frame nets for plastic windows only if the window sashes open to the inside of the apartment... Other types of insect repellent are available for other windows.

When taking measurements, take into account each millimeter division of the tape measure. For z-mount accessories it is permissible to round the data, but only upwards. If the mosquito structure after installation will give a slight overlap on the frame from the outside - it's okay. The main thing is that it completely covers the light opening, preventing access to insects, small debris and poplar fluff.

As you can see, you can measure the plastic window for installing the mosquito net yourself. If, after reading the article, you still do not understand any points, you can refer to one of the video instructions for taking measurements.

Order mosquito nets with a full range of services (measurement, manufacturing and installation) is the most correct solution, since the probability of an error is minimized, but even if it did happen, then the entire responsibility falls on the shoulders of the selling company.

When buying only the product, you independently remove all dimensions and install the mosquito net, in which case the responsibility for possible errors in measurement or installation falls on your budget. The cost of an anti-mosquito with this option is significantly reduced (on average, by 350-400 rubles per square meter). With volumes of 1-5 sq. M, this price difference will not be so significant, with larger orders (from 10 sq. M.), Savings of 3500 - 4000 rubles. and more will make a significant contribution to the family budget or save a decent amount for the company. But how to properly measure the size of mosquito nets?

Our company offers two options for fastening m / s - external z-shaped and internal metal. In this article, we will try to explain in detail and in an accessible way what nuances you should pay attention to when taking measurements, in which cases one or another type of fastener is used, and also how to correctly calculate the size of a mosquito net, because formalizing ordering mosquito nets, you must inform THE EXACT SIZE OF THE MOSKIT NET AND TYPE OF MOUNTING .

Option 1: internal metal fasteners.

Their main advantage is their versatility. Regardless of how your PVC window is installed, you can almost always install a mosquito net with this type of fastener on it.

Before proceeding with the calculation of the dimensions m / s, we need to make sure that its installation will be possible. To do this, it is necessary that the distance from the outer slope to the edge of the frame overlap on the right and left (A and C in the first figure) be greater than or equal to 10 mm, and above or greater than 20 mm (D in the second figure). If so, then you can safely start measuring. First of all, we measure the light opening (the distance from the overlap to the overlap in the width and height of the letters B and E, respectively), then add 20 mm to these dimensions and get the finished size of the mosquito net.

For example, let's take a window block with a size of 1450X1450 mm, divided in half. Depending on the profile system, the size of the skylight will vary. In our case (Brugmann profile system), the size of the light opening of one window sash is 620X1315 mm. We add 20 mm to each parameter and we get the finished size of the mosquito net equal to 640X1335 mm. Thus, making out ordering mosquito nets in our company without installation, you will have to name the width and height of the mesh you need (in this sequence) and the type of fastening. Based on our example, it will look like this: Good afternoon. I would like to place an order for a frame mosquito net with metal internal fasteners in the size 640x1335 mm, without measurements and installation.

Option 2: external Z-shaped mounts.

External fastenings are considered the most preferable, since the frame mosquito net is located on the outside of the window, and, therefore, the light opening does not decrease and the tightness of the primary seal circuit is not compromised. The only drawback may be considered some restrictions on their use. The ideal option is considered when the distance from the outer slope to the overlap on the right and left should be at least 20 mm, and from the upper slope to the overlap at least 50 mm. Only at such distances will the mosquito net not occupy part of the light opening. If your window is still recessed into the opening and these parameters are less, and there is no desire to put metal fasteners (due to a violation of the tightness of the window), then you can install external fasteners, but
the light opening will decrease by a certain amount. In this case, the minimum distances will be considered: 10 mm on the right and left, 30 mm on top, if the distances are even smaller, then only a specialist can determine the possibility of installation.

Now directly about the measurements. Initially, we measure the light opening, then, guided by the rules below, we calculate the dimensions of the mosquito net.

A. the distance to the right and left is 25 mm, we add 36 mm to the width of the light opening;

B. the distance to the right and left is 20 mm, but 25 mm; we add 31 mm to the width of the light opening;

B. the distance to the right and left is 15 mm, but 20 mm, add 26 mm to the width of the light opening;

D. the distance to the right and left is 10 mm, but 15 mm, add 21 mm to the width of the light opening.

2. Height of the mosquito net:

A. if the distance is 50 mm, then add 50 mm to the height of the light opening;

B. if the distance is 40 mm, but 50 mm, then add 45 mm to the height of the light opening;

B. if the distance is 30 mm, but 40 mm, then add 35 mm to the height of the light opening.

An example of calculating the size of a mosquito net.

The light opening is 620X1335 mm, on the left is an impost (part of the window is 60 mm), to the right of the slope to the overlap of 17 mm, on top - 37 mm.

Since when calculating the size of the mosquito net, the smallest of the available distances from the slope to the overlap is taken, in our case it will be 17 mm. Based on the first rule, 26 mm must be added to the width of the skylight. According to the second rule, 35 mm must be added to the height. Thus, the size of the mosquito net for installation on external mounts is 646X1370 mm, while the opening will decrease by approximately 15 mm on each side.

We examined the main nuances of measuring m / s, guided by our rules, you can independently calculate the size of the product you need, order it from our company and install it, while saving up to 400 rubles per sq.m. If you doubt that you have correctly calculated the dimensions or that you can install external fasteners (because for this you need to lean out of the window), then you can always contact our company and order a mosquito net with measurements and installation by the company's masters. In this case, you are insured against any mistake, because all responsibility rests with our specialists, you can safely continue to do your household chores, and we will do what we have been doing for five years - the manufacture and installation of mosquito nets.

This instruction is for guidance only and applies only to mosquito nets produced by our company. In the case of ordering a mosquito net from the Zolotoy Klyuchik company without measurements and installation, all responsibility for incorrectly taken measurements, errors during installation or mismatch in dimensions due to errors in measurements lies with the customer.

The recommendations described in this article apply exclusively to profile systems with smooth rectangular or slightly rounded beads (Aluplast, Brugmann, Rehau, Gealan, KBE, Viva, etc.). This instruction is not suitable for PVC profiles with a sharp bevel (Deceuninck, Thyssen, Foris, Roplasto, etc.). In this case, it is necessary to resort to the services of the company's specialists. If necessary replacement of mosquito nets existing mosquitoes, the final size will be the size of the existing mosquitoes.

How to measure and install a mosquito net correctly?

An affordable and most effective way to protect your home from annoying insects are mosquito nets. Installing a mosquito net avoids the use of fumigators and other chemicals to control annoying insects.

The mosquito net also prevents dirt and dust from entering the room, as well as poplar fluff (which is a powerful allergen). The mosquito net will keep pets from falling out of the open window. The mosquito net is an aluminum frame on which a fiberglass mesh is stretched.

Types of mosquito nets

Frame mosquito nets- the classic design of the mosquito net. A strong mesh is fixed on the aluminum profile, such a structure is inserted into the window opening. Such nets are convenient and practical, they are usually used when there is no need to constantly open the mesh. Depending on the method of fastening, they can be stationary and opening. It is recommended to remove the frame mosquito nets for the winter period for the longest possible service life of the product. If a large mosquito net is needed, it is usually made with an additional reinforcing bar in the middle.

Door mosquito nets practically do not differ from frame meshes, the design is also a lightweight aluminum profile. The main difference between frame and door mosquito nets is the size of the used aluminum profile. The door mosquito nets are larger. Handles are installed on the door mosquito nets for ease of use. Such nets are universal, they can be installed on entrance or attic doors, or on doors of balconies and loggias.

Rolling mosquito nets they work on the principle of roller shutters, that is, if necessary, the mosquito net can be rolled up into an aluminum box. The design of such a mosquito net includes a guide profile, a net in a roll and a cross bar with handles. Such mosquito nets are as functional and convenient as possible. There is no need to completely remove the roller mosquito net for the winter, just twist it up. Another advantage of such nets is the ability to cover wider window openings. But, as a drawback # 8212; such grids are unfortunately short-lived.

Mosquito net with Velcro or Scotch tape- the simplest mosquito net, which is mounted on the inner side of the window sash. If necessary, such a mesh can be removed very easily and quickly.

We measure the window under the mosquito net

Framed mosquito net with swivel z-mounts is the most popular option among customers. So, in order to independently measure the mosquito net, you need to take a tape measure, paper and a pen. Open the sash where the mosquito net will be installed. Now we measure the light clearance of the frame in width and height.

Mosquito net width on swivel z-mounts will be equal to the frame width plus 20 mm.

Mosquito net height on swivel z-mounts will be equal to the frame height plus 20 mm.

Types of mosquito net fastening

Plunger mount for mosquito net- the most expensive fastening of a mosquito net, but also the most reliable and stable fastening to high wind loads. The plunger is a special metal piece with a spring that can be adjusted in length. The plunger mount is universal for all types of windows.

Fastening "flag"# 8212; fastening the mosquito net with small plastic hooks. Such a mount is less resistant to wind loads.

Fastening with swivel z-elements- the most popular and reliable mount. Z-shaped elements must fit snugly to the frame, and are additionally fixed to it from inside the room.

Fastening to plastic corners. Such corners are located on the outside. This design does not interfere with the normal opening and closing of the window, and can also be easily removed.

Installing a mosquito net

Installing a mosquito net on swivel z-mounts runs in this sequence.

1. We place the mosquito net with fastenings inside the room. The fasteners differ in the length of the hook. It is important that the fasteners are located with a smaller hook to the bottom, and a larger one to the top, respectively.

2. It is necessary to grip the net by the side vertical handles. Which can be metal or plastic. We install the mesh in the window opening and start large hooks on the upper part of the frame. In this case, the mesh must be raised to the maximum height. When you reach the maximum positioning height, you will be able to make smaller hooks on the bottom edge of the window frame. Ready.

Fastening the mosquito net with plastic corners differs in that the fasteners are installed on the window frame, and not on the mesh as in the previous version.

1. It is necessary to make markings for the plastic corners on the outside of the window frame.

2. We fix the plastic corners on the window frame with self-tapping screws.

3. Further installation is similar to the method of fastening with z-shaped elements (first the upper edge, then the lower).

Situations are widespread when it is not installed at the same time as the plastic window, but after a certain period of time. The difficulty lies in the fact that a standard mosquito net may not fit the dimensions of the window, in which case you need to know how to measure a mosquito net, which will be made to order, in accordance with the dimensions of the customer's plastic window.

Why is it important to correctly measure a plastic window for a mosquito net

Incorrect measurement can lead to negative consequences, for example, if the mesh is too large for the window, then it will be difficult to install, and if it is too small, there will be cracks through which insects and foreign objects from the street will enter the house.

How to correctly measure mosquito nets?

To take measurements, you will need an ordinary tape measure and a notebook with a pen to write down the results obtained (with millimeter precision).

The main stages of measurements:

  • Measurements are taken on an open window, so you need to open the sash on which the mesh will be attached;
  • Then the width and height of the skylight are measured (along the edge where the sealing elastic is located);
  • At the end, measurements are made of the external dimensions of the frame in order to make sure that the particular type of mesh on the selected window is suitable for installation.

Types of fastening mosquito nets: features of their measurements

The design of mosquito nets is usually the same and consists of an aluminum frame and fiberglass cloth. In order for the mesh to fit snugly against the window, due attention should be paid to the quality of the fastening. Mosquito nets have different types of attachment, so first you need to decide which type you decided to install:

Mount types:

  • Z-shaped mounts. They are especially popular because they provide high reliability of fastening. Fastening takes place using nickel-plated brackets that fit snugly to the frame;
  • Plunger (rod) mountings. This is a universal mount, suitable for all types of windows. The plunger is a metal pin with a spring (adjustable in length) to which the mesh frame is attached;
  • Fastening "pockets". Less common as it does not provide adequate protection.

How to calculate the size of a mosquito net from the results of measurements

In order to calculate the dimensions of the future mosquito net with a z-shaped fastening for plastic windows (see), it is necessary to add 20-25 mm to the obtained height and width of the opening. In addition, it is important to understand whether it is possible to install a mesh with such an attachment. For this, the depth of the window frame structure is taken into account, it can be tightly wound by a quarter, therefore, difficulties will arise during installation. In this case, it would be more expedient to put a mesh with plunger mounts, but it is unsuitable in several cases: if the frame bevel has a round shape and a large angle of inclination.

This is due to the fact that during installation, the pins are attached to the frame profile, and given the large bevel, it will not be possible to achieve the proper strength and reliability. To calculate the size of the mesh from the results obtained, the height and width of the opening are subtracted by 5-6 mm (under the space for the sealing brush, which is mounted along the perimeter of the frame during installation). In order to calculate the size of the mesh with "pockets" fastening, it is recommended to consult an experienced specialist.

The best option to install a mosquito net on a plastic window is to order and install it in one set with plastic windows. If this was not done on time, and the mosquito has to be ordered separately, study carefully the very design of the window and swing sash. When the time comes to order, you can give an exhaustive answer to the wizard's questions about the device and size of the mesh for plastic windows and the device of fasteners, saving time and money.

How the mosquito net is installed

Before puzzling over how to measure a mosquito net on a plastic window, you need to find out what kind of mosquito design you prefer:

  • Rolling mesh in the form of a sheet, rolled up on a fixed mount in the upper part of the window frame;
  • Door type mosquito net. The anti-mosquito canvas is stretched over a thin aluminum frame, fixed in the window opening with the help of awnings;
  • Frame or frame type of mosquito net, the cheapest and most popular among the owners of plastic windows.

Roller shutter systems are still in vogue today; most companies are reluctant to install mosquito nets of such a system. Unlike a frame or door scheme, the roller shutter mechanism for feeding and folding the mesh uses a cloth with a special finish along the edges, which ensures the durability of the plastic anti-mosquito.

If a decision is made to use a roller shutter, when ordering, inform the master about the dimensions of the window and how exactly the measurement was carried out. Most often, contractors require measurements of the width and height of the skylight, as well as the width of the horizontal top and bottom cross-members of the window frame.

The door type of mosquito net is used for plastic windows that open outward, this is a rather rare scheme, and if there is a need to install this type of mosquito, it is better to use the services of a specialist. In this case, it is important not only to correctly measure the dimensions of the window opening, but also to correctly determine where and which awnings can be fixed on the frame.

The frame version of the mosquito net is the simplest, a frame with a mesh cloth can be installed on almost any window, if the outer slopes have left a margin of free space around the frame perimeter of at least 30 mm.

How to measure for the installation of a mosquito net

For the frame type of mosquito, all measurements and calculation of the canvas can be done by hand, and if you have carpentry skills and an understanding of the installation technology, you can even make the frame for the mosquito net yourself. But first, you need to accurately determine the main parameters for the installation:

  1. What type of mosquito net can be installed on a plastic window frame;
  2. Find out what kind of mount is suitable for installing a mosquito;
  3. Measure the parameters and dimensions of the window frame according to the diagram below.

Important! It is necessary to measure the window, more precisely, the size from the elastic to the elastic of the frame, and not the swing sash of the plastic window.

Choosing the size of the mosquito net and fastening

In order to better understand the technology of marking and installing the mosquito net, it is worth understanding the main thing - the inner size of the frame frame with the stretched mosquito net must exactly match the light opening of the window. That is, the aluminum mesh frame should not overlap the window skylight.

Therefore, when calculating the dimensions, it is required to measure the size of the window opening. Next, the width of the profile on which the frame will be stretched is added to the obtained height and width. Thus, the dimensions of the frame for the future mosquito net will be +22 mm in height and +15 mm in width. The width of the transverse profile of the frame is 22 mm, the width of the vertical profile is 10 mm.

To make it easier to understand exactly how a frame with a mosquito net looks on a plastic window, you can look at the window frames of the first floor of a building with a basement. The first floor suffers especially from the invasion of insects, therefore, if you wish, you can see a wide variety of mosquito designs.

After it was possible to measure and calculate the dimensions of the future mosquito frame, it is necessary to find out whether the aluminum frame with the mosquito will fit on the outside of the window frame. To do this, you just need to measure the width of the vertical and horizontal strips from the outside of the window block.

If the slopes are made according to the "liberal", sparing scheme, then all the plastic of the outer cladding remained open, but if the window block turned out to be slightly recessed into the plaster of the walls, the uncovered width of the slats could decrease by 10-15 mm. This means that there may not be enough space for mounting the mounts on the outside of the frame.

Fastening the mesh and frame

You can install the frame on the frame using two options for fastening - Z-shaped and pocket type. The installation diagram and dimensions of the clamping mounts are shown in the photo. It remains to measure the width of the crossbars and compare with the data on the diagram. To secure the mosquito net with the Z-clip on the outside of the frame, the width of the cross-section must be at least 26-30 mm. For a pocket-type attachment, the requirements are approximately the same.

Most craftsmen solve the issue of checking the possibility of installing fasteners even easier, instead of measuring the width, they immediately check the distance by applying one Z-shaped or pocket clamp to the frame.

Most installers are confident that the Z-mount holds the mesh better, but in practice, the fixing strength also depends on the quality of the profile from which the frame is made. Most often, after 3-5 installations, the central plastic handles come off, for which the frame is held at the time of fixation on the window. Together with the handles, the mosquito net also breaks.

The net itself is attached to the frame with a rubber cord, which makes it easy to replace the damaged web if necessary.

In my renovation, I got my hands on the windows. I have a building renovation, and therefore there were plastic windows! (which is already pleasing), but there was no finishing - no slopes, no mosquito nets, and the windows themselves were not adjusted (they do not open well - they close). The slopes were made (not without help), I will try to write an article later, but the question arose about installing mosquito nets. But first you need to measure them ...

If you call a measurer + installation of mosquito nets, then it will cost twice as much as measuring and installing a mosquito net yourself. I will definitely write about the installation of the grids, but now you need to correctly measure the grid so that it completely covers the window. Measurement must be accurate, otherwise the mesh must be altered.

So, how the mosquito net is measured.

Everything is very simple, in order to make a mesh, you need to remove the dimensions of the inner sash, on which we will hang the net from the outside. That is, the sash that opens, as a rule, is half of the window. We measure its width and height, just like in the photo.

Then we transfer these dimensions to production, usually the nets are made by manufacturers of plastic windows, they are made in 15 minutes, they can be made with you. The average price in our city is about 600 rubles per square meter.

The dimensions of the sash are 1.47 meters by 0.6 meters = 0.88 square meters. Then we multiply by 600 rubles, it turns out 600 * 0.88 = 528 rubles

We also need to buy fasteners for the mesh on the window, they cost a penny, about 10 rubles per fastening. You need 4 fasteners per window = 40 rubles.

That's it, it's so easy and simple to measure the mosquito net.

Like many window accessories, mosquito nets are not always purchased with plastic windows and installed on them at the same time as installation. If the purchase of windows occurs during the cold season, then the owners often prefer to save money by postponing the purchase of nets until the "best" warm times. In principle, this is quite reasonable, if not for one "but" - mosquito nets are not produced per stream and do not have standard dimensions. Each mesh must be ordered individually, providing the manufacturer with the exact dimensions of the window structures.

When buying a mesh separately from the window, you can act in three different ways:

  • Contact the company that produced and installed your windows for the manufacture of an accessory - for some time the companies keep the drawings of completed orders, so there is a chance that they retained the dimensions of your windows.
  • Invite a measuring specialist to take measurements again - the service costs money, and besides, the specialist does not always come at a convenient time.
  • Measuring the dimensions of the window yourself is the most convenient and inexpensive option, however, it requires certain knowledge, which we will discuss in more detail.

What kinds of meshes are there?

Most often, frame-type mosquito nets are installed on the outside of standard plastic windows. The design of these meshes provides for the presence of a frame - an aluminum frame, to which a stack of fiberglass material is attached to it. The frame thickness is 10 * 25 mm, and the mesh size does not exceed 1 mm.

In turn, frame mosquito nets are attached to windows in different ways and are divided into three types: plunger, pocket and Z-type nets. Before taking measurements for making a mesh, it is necessary to determine how it will be attached to the base.

Features of different types of mounts

Plunger mount It is considered the most reliable and durable for long-term installation of meshes. The frame of the mesh is attached to the window frame using special pins with springs, which ensure that the structure is tightly pressed. The nets attached in this way look aesthetically pleasing and neat.

Pocket mount- it is used extremely rarely, since it does not press the mesh tightly enough to the window and leaves large gaps through which insects can enter the room. When choosing this method of fastening, the frame with the mesh is made slightly larger than the dimensions of the glass unit and its edges are tucked into special plastic "pockets" located at the corners of the window frame.

Z-type mount- along with the plunger, a common variant of installing mosquito nets, which ensures its good adherence to the window. In this case, the frame structure is held by special metal brackets located close to the window seal. Z-shaped fasteners must be tightened regularly, otherwise they will loosen and palpable gaps appear between the window and the mesh.

When choosing a plunger or Z-shaped mount, it is easy to determine the dimensions of the stack yourself, but it is better to entrust the calculation of the dimensions of a mesh with a pocket mount to a specialist.

How to take measurements for a Z-mount mesh

Z-shaped mesh

In order to independently remove the dimensions of a mosquito net with any type of attachment, you need to get a construction tape.

When manufacturing a structure with Z-fasteners, it is required to determine what width and height the window opening has. The parameters must be determined with the sash open, focusing on the edges of the seal laid along the perimeter of the frame. It is important to measure the height and width as accurately as possible and record the result in millimeters.

The width and height are calculated using the following formulas:

  • Net height = h of the opening (mm) + 20 mm.
  • Net width = b opening (mm) + 20 mm.

You also need to find out if the depth of the window frame is enough to install the mesh. From the side of the sash, the box should not go too far beyond a quarter, and the slopes of the window itself should be located in the immediate vicinity of the edge. If the characteristics of the window do not allow installing a mosquito with Z-mounts on it, then order a product with plunger mounts.

How to measure plunger mesh

The only limitation for installing insect screens on plastic windows with plungers is the rounded bevel of the sash frame from the outside or too strong a tilt angle. Both options are unacceptable for fastening with pins for the reason that their shape does not allow for tight pressing of the elements to each other.

For the production of ram mesh, the height and width of the opening are measured according to the same principle as for Z-fasteners. However, further, millimeters are not added to the dimensions, but are subtracted - by 6 mm. from each side. This is done so that there is room for the brush-seals, which are fixed along the edge of the mosquito net frame. The reduced dimensions are reported to the company that will manufacture the mosquito accessory.

Subtleties that are important to know when placing an order

Mosquito frame nets are installed only on plastic hinged windows that open inward. For other designs, there are roll nets, sliding nets, with Velcro, pleated, etc.

The measurement accuracy must be high - up to a millimeter. Values can be rounded off only for meshes with Z-fixings and only upwards. If such a grid goes slightly beyond the level of the beginning of the frame from the street side, it will be almost imperceptible. Its main task is to completely close the window opening and prevent insects and debris from entering the room.

In principle, there should be no difficulties in measuring the dimensions of the window for installing a mosquito net. However, if you misunderstood something, or are not sure that you understood correctly, watch one of the video instructions posted on our website.
