May Huawei terminal. How and what to enter at commands into the modem

Many who deal with Huawei and ZTE MF modems are familiar with My Huawei Terminal (The author of the program is Alexander Shokin). Those who have been dealing with modems for a long time do not need to explain why My Huawei Terminal is needed. But for those who are just starting to learn how to work with a modem, it will be useful to read this material, at least for general development.

My Huawei Terminal is designed to send special AT commands to the modem with which you can do some manipulations with the modem. For example commands for ZTE MF

AT + ZCDRUN = E deletes file NODOWNLOAD.FLG

ATI find out information about the modem

There are a great variety of AT commands…. It makes no sense to write all of them. You can find the required commands on the Internet.

So, let's look at a few examples of command entry using the ZTE MF 180 modem as an example.

You have a modem! But you do not know what it is and you also need to find out its IMEI.

Install software from a modem and run My Huawei Terminal

Open the top line (by clicking on the arrow) and select the port on which your modem is currently located. (in this case it is COM22 (ZTE Proprietary USB Modem) The number of your COM port may be different (you can see it in the device manager in (COM and LPT ports) by opening this menu.

In any case, in My Huawei Terminal, we are looking for the ZTE Proprietary USB Modem line. We select it by clicking on it with the mouse.

Then we press the next button Connect (that is, connect to the modem) After that, in the bottom line, enter the desired AT command and press the Enter button on the keyboard. After that, if everything was done correctly, we will receive a response from the modem. For example

In this case, we entered the ATI command and pressed the Enter button on the keyboard. After that, we received information about the type of modem, about the firmware and even its IMEI (for example, your IMEI was erased from the modem case, but you need to find it out, or after an unsuccessful flashing you erased the IMEI in the
modem, you want to know if you managed to restore your IMEI in the modem or not).

If, while working with the terminal, such a window flies to the place of what you expected.

It means that you have chosen the wrong COM port and the terminal simply did not connect to the modem. (Repeat all of the above and try to connect to the modem again.)

Let's consider another option. Suppose you, when unlocking the Beeline modem (or any other), you removed the autoload in the modem, respectively, and the virtual CD-ROM with drivers for the modem and now on another computer you cannot automatically install the drivers on the modem. (Or this happened simply after an unsuccessful modem flashing)
How do I repair my CD-ROM to install modem drivers? To start.

We find on the Internet any ISO image from the ZTE MF modem .... (any)! We open it with the WinRAR archiver and install everything manually

(drivers and modem control program). How to install drivers in manual mode, I think you know if not, then these screenshots will help you understand this (an example is given for Windows7) We go to the device manager .... Then we do everything according to the pictures.

In this case, the path to the folder with the drivers was C: \ Program Files \ Connect Manager \ drivers \ 32bit \ WIN7 (it may have a slightly different name depending on what software you are using and what Windows you have).

After specifying the folder with the drivers, click next. The driver for this device is being installed from the specified driver folder. We repeat this operation for all devices on which we need to install the drivers manually. After installing all the drivers, if we did everything right, we see the following picture

That is, everything is done, right, all the drivers are up, the question marks have disappeared. Everything works normally. If any, then the question mark has not disappeared, then we repeat everything.

After all the necessary drivers are installed for the modem, launch My Huawei Terminal and repeat all the steps that we did earlier in order to determine the type and model of the modem. But in this case, we don't need to know the type of the modem. and restore the autoload of the modem driver CD-ROM. Therefore, instead of the ATI command, we enter the AT + ZCDRUN = F command and press the Enter button on the keyboard.
Then we enter the command AT + ZCDRUN = 9 F and press the Enter button on the keyboard.

After that, we juggle the modem. We remove the modem software from the computer and try to install the native modem software from the modem itself. If you did everything right, then everything should work out.

We have considered only two examples, but there are quite a few such examples. They are the same type.

Here, for example, is only a small part of the AT commands for the ZTE MF series modems
AT + ZCDRUN = E deletes file NODOWNLOAD.FLG
AT + ZCDRUN = F restores NODOWNLOAD.FLG
AT + ZCDRUN = 8 deletes autorun.flg file
AT + ZCDRUN = 9 restores autorun.flg

Setting different operating modes for ZTE MF :

AT + ZSNT = 0,0,0 (Auto) - default
AT + ZSNT = 0,0,1 Automatic network selection: GSM + WCDMA, GSM preference
AT + ZSNT = 0,0,2 Automatic network selection: GSM + WCDMA, WCDMA preference
AT + ZSNT = 1.0.0 Automatic network selection: GSM only
AT + ZSNT = 2.0.0 Automatic network selection: WCDMA only

AT + ZSNT = 0,1,0 Manual network selection: GSM + WCDMA
AT + ZSNT = 1,1,0 Manual network selection: GSM only
AT + ZSNT = 2,1,0 Manual network selection: WCDMA only

Set range for ZTE MF :

ZBANDI
at + zbandi = 0 (Auto) - Default Auto Switch
at + zbandi = 1 UMTS 850 + GSM 900/1800
at + zbandi = 2 UMTS 2100 + GSM 900/1800 (Europe)
at + zbandi = 3 UMTS 850/2100 + GSM 900/1800
at + zbandi = 4 UMTS 850/1900 + GSM 850/1900

AT commands for modems on the ICERA processor such as for example ZTE MF192, as well as ZTE MF652
AT command AT% USBMODEM = 0 switches the modem to the "Modem only" mode.
AT command AT% USBMODEM = 1 switches the modem to the "Modem + CD ROM" mode

For Huawei series modems, AT commands are slightly different…. But more on that next time.

Good luck to all.

You can find it here, or in the software section. On this site.

HUAWEI Modem is a program designed to work with modems connected to a computer from the respective manufacturer. With its help, you can change the operating parameters of these peripheral devices, update the "firmware" and carry out their initial configuration. The program is fully translated into Russian by the developer and supports a variety of modem models.

Available functions

The main feature in the HUAWEI Modem is the use of ready-made profiles of settings, sharpened for work with Ukrainian, Kazakh, Russian and Belarusian mobile operators. In particular, the presented "assembly" of the program contains profiles for Beeline, MTS, Tele2, Utel, Megafon, Life and Smarts. A special manager is provided for working with profiles in the application interface. In some cases, the optimal settings can be determined automatically by the program.

Another important function of this software is making voice calls. Of course, not all device models support this feature. More precisely, only 5% of the total mass of devices have one. But the execution of USSD commands is supported on absolutely all such devices. So the developers of HUAWEI Modem simply could not help adding to their brainchild a convenient tool for working with them. Well, the last interesting function that is available in the application is automatic reconnection to the network after a disconnection.

Important note

All users of the program need to know that after flashing an artificially "locked" modem for working with a SIM-card of a certain operator of the modem, it will not work with cards of another operator. To obtain such an opportunity, a "unlocking" operation is required. Information on how to accomplish it must be searched for on specialized resources, which our site is not.

Key features

  • installation of ready-made profiles with a set of parameters for well-known operators;
  • making calls and sending SMS messages on compatible devices;
  • a tool for executing USSD commands;
  • simple and intuitive interface, fully translated into Russian;
  • automatic reconnection in case of disconnection.
AT command serves to control some of the functions of the modem. Commands can be entered with special programs, it is much easier than the built-in hyperterminal in Windows XP. To do this, you can use the programs: or Before using these programs, you need to close all other programs that can use the modem. For Huawei modems, you need to connect to the COM port " 3G PC UI Interface", for modems ZTE MF on COM port "ZTE Proprietary USB Modem". How to use we look at the pictures, everything is quite simple. If there are several commands, first enter one - press Enter, then the next one and press again Enter.

HUAWEI Modem is a program that provides configuration and operation of this brand's modems. In the program, you change the configuration of the HUAWEI peripherals, download the firmware update and configure the routers.

HUAWEI Modem supports Russian and "flashes" popular modem models. The program provides full control over the stuffing of the modem and controls the routers that are connected to the computer. The utility has a USSD command setting and ready-made device configs.

Available functions

The main function of HUAWEI Modem is to work with ready-made profiles of settings that support work with Ukrainian, Russian and other mobile operators. The profiles contain a template that quickly turns on and creates a connection in the modem.

This version of the program works with settings for Beeline, MTS, Tele2, Utel, Megafon, Life and Smarts. Using a special manager, you work with profiles, switching between them. Sometimes the necessary settings are recognized by the program automatically. This feature provides fast network access without unnecessary connections.

Another main feature of the program is making voice calls. Voice calling is not supported on all device models - only 5% of HUAWEI modems and routers are equipped with this feature.

USSD commands are executed on any modem from this manufacturer. A useful function of this program is the restoration of communication after a short-term loss of the network.

Important note

Before flashing the device, remember that the SIM-card that works for this operator will not be "detected" in the modem with a card of another operator. Access to the "SIM card by default" is carried out after special procedures.

There is no official data on how to do this yet. Use the instructions on the specialized forums or programmers' websites. The reverse procedure requires special skills. Do not restore access to a standard operator without proper knowledge.

Key features

  • installation of profiles with ready-made configs that contain parameters for well-known operators;
  • calling and sending SMS messages on supported devices;
  • the ability to process commands on USSD;
  • a shell with a clear and convenient interface, which is created with the Russian language;
  • automatic authorization of the modem when the line is broken;
  • automatic recognition of settings for operators.
