Official dealer of Isuzu (Isuzu). The car that came to us

At the Sollers-Isuzu enterprise in Yelabuga, the assembly of Isuzu trucks of the new generation NPR75 has begun. How do they differ from the predecessors of the NQR75, already known in our country?

About the Isuzu delivery truck (still with the NQR71 index) was described in AP # 19, 2006: then we compared it with the competitor Hyundai. Then the production of Isuzu was moved from Ulyanovsk to Yelabuga, and the NQR71 model with a Euro 2 engine was replaced by the Isuzu NQR75, which already meets the Euro 3 standards. Now the index has changed again - to NPR75. The assembly of trucks, as before, is carried out using the SKD method: ready-made frames, units and cabins come to us from Japan. What has changed in the design?

The carrying capacity of the chassis has once again slightly decreased (about 4.8 tons against five for the NQR75 and 5.5 tons for the NQR71).

The engine, a 150-horsepower Euro 3 turbodiesel, remains the same. But the gearbox has become a six-speed, the springs are reinforced (at the rear - 13 sheets instead of 11), and the electronic EBD system manages the distribution of braking forces. Another, longest, wheelbase has appeared - 4475 mm (in addition to the base lengths 3815 and 4175 mm).

And most importantly, the cabin has become completely new. It is 45 mm wider, 56 mm higher, 72 mm longer and resembles a cube - since the angle of inclination of the window pillars and windshield is reduced for the sake of spaciousness. Of course, from a design point of view, the decision is controversial, but maybe the designers wanted their truck to not look like its main competitor, the Hyundai HD-78?

The interior has become more functional, but still plain The presence of a "separator" filter is a smart decision. But the fuses located "on the street" (to the left of it) are a controversial Japanese sinusoid: the exhaust pipe bends around the rear axle!

The interior of the cabin has long been devoid of bare metal like the NQR71, but it is still a stretch to call the interior modern. For example, the Japanese abandoned the ancient "climate" control levers, replacing them with rotating regulators ... But for some reason they did not touch the archaic slider for turning on the recirculation mode. Is it as much a must in Japanese culture as a ceremonial bow?

Frankly, I didn’t like two things - the fuzzy shifting of gears and the location of the button for the electric drive of the mirrors. For some reason, it is located at the bottom of the front panel, and you have to bend towards it, distracting from the mirrors themselves.

But overall, the driver has become more comfortable (he sits a little higher than before). In addition, now you do not have to disassemble the half-cabins to get to the “stove” or the wiper drive: the outer front panel can be easily removed. There is another smart solution: so that the crankcase ventilation tube does not freeze in the cold, it was moved from the front wheel to a warmer area of the engine.

As representatives of Sollers assure, due to the better aerodynamics of the cabin and the six-speed gearbox, the average consumption should decrease by 1.5-2 l / 100 km (the predecessor consumes about 20 l / 100 km). The warranty has not changed (two years, or 100 thousand kilometers), service intervals, alas, are also only 10 thousand kilometers.

But the price has jumped: on a chassis without a body, it starts from 1 million 545 thousand rubles.

Isn't it a little expensive? After all, for the same money, a classmate of the KAMAZ assembly is offered, a Mitsubishi Canter already with a manufactured goods van! And the Hyundai HD-78 is even cheaper: for a 140-strong chassis, dealers ask from 1 million 198 thousand rubles, for a manufactured goods van - from 1 million 310 thousand. However, representatives of Sollers assure that Isuzu wins in the basic configuration, since it includes a painted bumper (although for the carrier it is rather a minus: scratches are not so visible on a black background) and an anti-slip system, which competitors do not have. On the other hand, Mitsubishi has electrically adjustable mirrors in its "base" ... So which of the Asian trinity is really better - we do not dare to say in absentia.

NQR is a series of compact commercial models that are ideal for the climate, city and country roads of our country. The universal chassis allows the installation of a platform, van, tow truck, and so on. NQR trucks are most common in small businesses, whose tasks include the transportation of goods weighing up to 5 tons. Ease of management, maneuverability, adaptation to suburban routes and economy in maintenance have allowed this Isuzu series to find its niche in the field of farming, private land tenure.

The NQR cab is anti-corrosion, positioned above the engine and reinforced with a steel frame for reliability and safety reasons. Excellent viewing angles from all sides are provided by wide windshields and side windows, as well as wide-angle mirrors with increased control over the rear of the truck. Headlights - modern, twin. Boarding / disembarking comfort is provided by the grooved footplate and steel support handles. Simple and ergonomic controls. Reinforced suspension, heated fuel filter, power steering, ABS, ASR and smooth start even at subzero temperatures. All this made this series of Japanese trucks one of the favorite and most demanded in the vastness of Russia.

Weaknesses NQR:

  • Electrician. The NQR's control unit is a sore spot. It tends to acidify (or the tracks burn out). Electrical problems like this often affect the operation of the exhaust brake.
  • The bearings in the back cover will wedge and rotate. This is typical of the NQR after 150,000 km. Consequence - the starter clicks, which, in an amicable way (but not the most economical), needs to be replaced.
  • The speed sensor in the area of the fuel pump, or rather the wire on it, tends to fall off. As a result, the tachometer stops working.
  • Brake system. Frequent symptoms look like this: the brakes fail, during the subsequent test (pressing the brake) they either creak or whistle, the steering wheel turns easier. The problem is most likely in the pump in which the NQR has two circuits. If one circuit has broken through, a grinding and squeal will appear, due to the air in the circuit.

Another problem is that the brake fluid can leave the barrel, but no drips are found (most likely, it goes into the vacuum booster). They can also work badly, that is, from the second or even the third pitching, the brakes work. The increased pedal travel is a lack of self-routing. This is a sure sign of the "death" of the pads.

Autotechcenter "KOMAVTO" offers professional and high-quality repair of Isuzu NQR at affordable prices.

The full-size ELF 7.5 chassis from ISUZU is the best option for city trips and intercity cargo transportation. The car is suitable for maneuvering in heavy traffic with frequent parking and loading and unloading in confined spaces. The NPR truck is available in 4 wheelbases: NPR75L-H, NPR75L-K, NPR75L-L and NPR75L-M.

Features of the ELF 7.5 truck from Isuzu

ISUZU vehicles are designed in compliance with European quality standards and have undergone additional training for the Russian road realities. Isuzu NPS 7.5 trucks are equipped with a Euro-5 emission class diesel engine. Exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) and the DOC catalytic converter in the injection system ensured a high level of environmental friendliness of the engine. ISUZU abandoned the use of AdBlue and a particulate filter (DPF), respectively, car owners will not need to carry out additional maintenance for trucks of the 75 lh, 75 lk, 75 ll and 75 lm series and constantly replace the used filters.

Detailed information and a detailed description of each configuration of the ELF 7.5 car from Isuzu can be found on the website of the official ISUZU dealer in Russia.

One of the activities of the Japanese corporation Isuzu Motors Limited is the development and production of trucks, power units.

The corporation's cars appeared on the Russian market at the end of the 80s of the last century - they were supplied under barter schemes in exchange for Siberian coal.

At present, the company is successfully cooperating with OAO Sollers (a structure of the Severstal group). With him in 2010, SOLLERS-ISUZU CJSC was formed.

The aim of cooperation is the production of commercial vehicles and their implementation through a network of dealerships.

Light truck of small tonnage according to the manufacturer's classification is assigned to the N series. These are universal vehicles for urban and suburban transportation of goods up to 5 tons.

The chassis provides for the installation of vans for various purposes, a loading platform, a loader crane, and equipment for evacuating vehicles.

Purpose and features

In recent years, the use of light vehicles has increased.

Such machines are compact and convenient. NQR75 has found a scope of application in small businesses that need to deliver equipment or goods to facilities, in small transport companies that earn money by transporting not very large consignments of cargo.

The car is easy to drive, it is quite maneuverable, economical, plus it is not very difficult to repair.

All this makes it possible to profitably use it on intra-city routes, for the needs of private land ownership, and for farming.

The main features of the car are simplicity of design and the following factors:

Engine

ISUZU produces non-turbocharged diesel engines for the N series. The company's engineers believe that power should be increased due to an increase in the volume of the engine cylinders, and the presence of a turbocharger increases operating costs.

4HK1 is a single-row, 4-cylinder, 4-stroke diesel engine with a mechanical injection system. With proper maintenance, it is able to provide a car with a millionth mileage before overhaul.

The engine has overhead valves and their drive mechanism, cylinder liners are "dry", the block is cast from cast iron.

Transmission units and assemblies

Transmission type - mechanical.

The clutch is of a dry type, single-disc version, the drive for switching on the unit is hydraulics with an amplifier.

Gearbox (checkpoint) - mechanical. The drive for switching modes (5 + 1) is carried out by two cables.

A power take-off mechanism for additional equipment with an electric or cable drive for switching on and a hydraulic pump are mounted on the box body.

The cardan shaft is tubular, with an intermediate support, crosses and a sliding fork.

Continuous driving rear axle. Main gear with hypoid type gearing.

Governing bodies

The steering gear is equipped with a hydraulic booster. The steering column is fully adjustable in extension and tilt.

The brake system is double-circuit, drum mechanisms with eccentric regulators are installed on all wheels. The brake booster is made in one block with the power steering.

Drum-type parking brake with pads on the output shaft of the gearbox, driven through a cable connection.

Exhaust brake - a vacuum-operated flap that blocks the engine exhaust path, simplifies engine braking.

Cab and platform equipment

The cabin is all-metal welded construction, reinforced with steel inserts. Fully lifts with torsion bar suspension. Driving comfort is created by a hard plastic sheathed interior with three seats, the middle seat is transformed into a table.

A toolbox is installed behind the driver's seat. Shelves and pockets, distributed throughout the cabin, allow you to place things and documents you need on the road.

At the factory, preparations were made for the installation of additional equipment (car radio, navigator, control and communication equipment). Wiring has been laid, power and commutation connectors installed.

The cargo platform is a lattice frame made of metal channels with a plywood flooring.

The sides are metal, galvanized, folding.

Front and rear suspension

Spring type, assembled from six steel sheets, the rear is reinforced with five leaf springs. The frame is equipped with limit stops for the bridge buffers.

Electrical system

24V DC system, negative battery terminal grounded to ground. The starter mechanism for 4.0 kW is located in the housing of the motor-reducer.

The alternating current generator set for 24 V, 60 A is commutated with an integral regulator and a current rectifier.

Chassis models and superstructures

There are two chassis modifications - NQR75P and NQR75R. The latter is distinguished by a wheelbase increased by 710 mm and by 360 mm.

On the platform of the model, manufactured goods, furniture, isothermal vans with a coating of clad plywood, galvanized steel, and plastic are produced. Monolithic polyurethane foam sandwich panels can be used for thermal insulation.

The chassis is equipped with superstructures:

  • awning- with a collapsible frame and a roof made of arches. PVC cover;
  • onboard- with a wall height of 400 mm galvanized steel;
  • evacuation- sliding hydraulic platform, hydraulic winch;
  • tail lift- hydraulically controlled lifting and lowering of the tailgate;
  • crane arm- installed behind the cab, drive from a power take-off box, two pull-out sections, five control points;
  • assembly tower in telescopic or articulated design, lifting heights, respectively, 18 and 22 m.

N Series Transport

There are 10 models in the series: all of them are light, compact and durable. Curb weight - no more than 8,000 kg with 5,000 kg load e a lot.

The category accounts for more than half of the company's exports to other countries. The demand is explained by the relative cheapness, simplicity of the device, high parameters of durability and reliability, which fully confirms the popularity of the machine in the secondary market.

By and large, medium-duty Isuzu trucks are present on the roads of Ukraine: their components and assemblies have been used for several years in the production of popular small-class buses “Bogdan” A-091. In 2003, a trial batch of several cars was made, and the plans for this year are the assembly of at least a hundred of these cars. When you look at the Isuzu NQR 71P truck, you cannot immediately say that the gross weight of this machine is 8 tons, and the carrying capacity is 4.5 tons. It's all about its small size. This is the “oldest” brother in the versatile N family with a gross weight of 3.5 tons.

The rounded cockpit is located rather low. The Asian design is accentuated by the slanted front light blocks. By the way, the headlights themselves are double, rectangular - like on "Bogdan". The domed windshield looks even larger - at its base a black plastic trim flaunts in the center of which a large chrome ISUZU emblem flaunts, and a smaller lettering - NQR on the left. The car has a spectacular front bumper with "foglights". A retractable antenna is located on the left window pillar, and parking lights on the roof.

Our Isuzu was equipped with a snow-white insulated box body. This is a purely Ukrainian development. It is interesting that the van is produced in Cherkassy, at the Spetsavtotekhnika plant. Sandwich panels are made of galvanized steel sheet covered with plastic. They are filled with polyurethane inside. The use of this technology made it possible to make the van lighter, sealed (especially at the joints) and protect it from corrosion. The floor of the van is of the original design, filler. This is a special elastic sealant, which, after curing, becomes very tough and at the same time flexible, as a result of which the floor does not burst. A lighting shade is provided inside the van. But it will be difficult to carry out loading and unloading - we did not find ladders, they can only be installed on request.

Getting in and out of the cab is straightforward: wide doorways, comfortable handles on the A-pillars and low-positioned footrests make it easy. The latter, by the way, have a corrugated coating, so that the feet do not slip. The cabin is three-seater: however, three adult passengers will be cramped in the shoulders. Therefore, for long distances, at least in the cold season, it is preferable to travel together. And even better - take off your outerwear, especially since the effective heating system allows you to do this even in severe frost.

The driver's seat has only two adjustments: longitudinal and backrest angle. The steering column is not adjustable at all, which creates some inconvenience when adjusting the seat. The backrest of the middle passenger's seat can recline, transforming into a comfortable table. The outer seats are equipped with integrated head restraints, as well as 3-point seat belts (the middle passenger has a 2-point belt). In order to see, say, the oil level, it is not necessary to tilt the cabin - access to the upper part of the engine is provided from the inside as well, it is enough to raise the passenger seat cushion.

There is a ventilation hatch in the roof. To open it, you need to twist the plastic handle (by the way, very convenient). Before that, using a special key, you can select one of two operating modes: for intake or for exhausting air - the front or rear edge of the hatch is raised, respectively. It is impossible not to mention the shortcomings. So, when driving, the not fully screwed plastic false panel of the center console vibrated. I would like to hope that these are only flaws in the trial batch, and this will not happen on subsequent machines.

On the day of testing, it was minus 15 on the street, but the engine started up with half a turn. Glow plugs are installed on the motor, connected to each other by a single wire. Thanks to this, it is possible to start the engine even when one of the spark plugs is not working. It is a pity that the car was not equipped with fuel heating, but in our conditions it is simply necessary. Soon after filling with winter diesel fuel, paraffinization began in the glass flask of the filter-settling tank. In motion, the car demonstrates complaisance, clearly following all the driver's commands. The power steering does its job well. There are no special complaints about the pedals. The accelerator is made in the form of a comfortable floor platform, the grip is moderately tight and long-travel. But you have to get used to the brake pedal: it has a fairly large free travel.

It is very easy to operate the small short-stroke lever of the 5-speed gearbox. The gears are switched with enviable clarity. This is partly due to the cable drive of the shift mechanism. The first gear is unsynchronized, so it turns on only after the car has come to a complete stop. If the car is not loaded, you can safely get under way directly from the second. Aspirated 4.6-liter diesel engine with 121 hp. is already well known for the Bogdan A-091 buses. Therefore, we were not surprised by its high torque. Up to 2000 rpm, the car accelerates rather sluggishly, but as soon as the tachometer needle overcomes this mark, the engine just comes to life. This pickup continues up to about 3000 rpm, after which there is a gradual decline, up to the maximum allowable 3700 rpm.

Due to the low center of gravity due to the location of the power unit, Isuzu has good directional stability, which allows it to take turns at a fairly high speed. On a road covered with a crust of ice, the lack of ABS is felt. However, during emergency braking, the car retained controllability. The right steering column switch controls not only the wiper and washer, but also the engine brake. Clicked - and when the gas is released, the car effectively brakes with the engine. As for visibility, it is excellent from the port side. But on the right, there are many dead zones. Therefore, it makes sense to install additional exterior mirrors. This will help the driver to better feel the dimensions of the car in heavy city traffic.

Despite the slight "roughness", we liked the Isuzu NQR 71P. It is quite suitable for intensive use as a delivery vehicle. Suitable "Japanese" and for intercity flights over short distances. The car is distinguished by good economy for its class: the average fuel consumption in urban mode did not exceed 17-18 liters per 100 kilometers. And another important advantage of the Isuzu NQR in comparison with competitors is its low price.
