Insulated cladding panels for the facade. Pros and cons of insulated facade panels Insulated wall panels

September 5, 2016
Specialization: professional approach to architecture, design and construction of private houses and cottages, new products on the market of building materials and finishes. Hobby: growing fruit trees and roses. Breeding of meat and decorative rabbits.

Considering how to clad a shell house covered with ordinary rough cement plaster, I decided to choose panels with insulation. Facing front panels with insulation are a convenient and interesting option, but finishing with this material has many nuances and subtleties.

I will share my experience on the example of panels made of a cement mixture with additives of a beautiful texture, insulated with a layer of foam. But first, the options that can be found at a large hardware store.

Panel types - advantages and disadvantages

The very principle of the thermal panel device is several layers of decoration. Insulation layer, adhesive base and decorative coating with additional protective functions. Today there are four sandwich options that are quite affordable.

  • Clinker tiles as a decorative layer - it looks stylish and allows you to create any facade design. In this finish, the carrier layer is made of OSB, which gives the material additional rigidity.
    For the base, it is better to choose a material that is additionally reinforced with pressed-in metal or plastic bushings. It is safer. In addition, such a cladding can be easily assembled with your own hands.

  • A layer of decorative plaster on expanded polystyrene - there are many options. As a decor, you can choose the addition of marble chips or quartz. The advantage of such panels is the ability to create a perfect seamless finishing surface.

In the photo - the rules for installing metal panels

  • The metal coating is reliable and durable. Insulation on both sides is protected by aluminum or profiled sheet. You can choose any - under a tree or under a stone, but it will cost more.
    Minus metal - heavy finishing, the instruction does not recommend installation on old walls without additional reinforcement and reinforcement.

Concrete coating with additional reinforcing additives and an interesting "torn" texture. Insulation - a layer of foam. The most budgetary option.

You can buy at mini-factories twice as cheap as in a store. I chose this finish for myself. It can be painted both under the stone-sandstone, and under the marble or wild stone.

Panels for insulating the facade of a house made of pressed concrete with the addition of strengthening and water-repellent additives can be mounted on any walls with rough plaster. Perfectly smooth out all imperfections and irregularities.

Cladding rules for any sandwich panels

Since I am familiar with many problems firsthand, I will share the main nuances that are important to pay attention to.

Rule # 1

It is important to calculate the loads on the foundation and walls, especially in older buildings with shallow strip foundations. Some insulated facade panels are heavy (concrete or metal). For clinker tiles, the installation of the lathing will be required.

Architects advised against choosing a tree for the lathing in any case. Even treated with a deep penetration primer, it quickly begins to rot, and besides, woodworm beetles love it very much. Only metal lathing, as for drywall.

It is also important to consider the strength of the walls. If the building is old, then it is necessary to carry out additional reinforcing reinforcement with a metal mesh and apply a layer of starting leveling plaster with reinforcing additives.

If there is no desire to pay for the calculations of the architects for the bearing capacity of the walls, then it is better to opt for a lightweight option for exterior decoration - on a metal frame or light clinker tiles.

Rule # 2

Be sure to look for a professional construction team, because it will be problematic to fix bad work. This is exactly what happened to me. She hired craftsmen, they assured me that they had worked with this material, and received not walls - but a chessboard without worn seams. I had to spend money on additional painting with decorative additives.

Let the masters show their work, do not be lazy, go and look at the object, talk to the owners. Now there are a lot of "craftsmen" who can "do everything", but in the end they just spoil good material.

Rule # 3

When choosing thermal panels for insulating the facade of a house, immediately think over the design concept of the entire facade. Now for five thousand rubles in the design office, you can order sketches with different finishes in texture and color.

Then remodeling and purchasing materials will be not only more troublesome, but also significantly more expensive. Of the most interesting options, I can recommend inexpensive and beautiful combinations:

  • Metal base and decorative plaster;
  • A plinth made of textured pressed cement and wood-like siding - the plinth can then be decorated with a timber or wild stone. Many decor options.
  • Clinker tiles are very "delicate"; it is good to use them as decorative inserts for panels covered with "torn" plaster.

For the basement of an old house, a thermal panel made of metal "like a brick" is ideal, and above it can be insulated with light plastered plates.

Rule # 4

Decide immediately what layer of insulation you need. The thicker the layer, the more expensive the finish.... But in some cases it is worth paying more. This applies to the basement and those walls of the house where there is most traffic.

Here, the finish must be durable and resistant to soil moisture. Metal panels protected on both sides are the safest for the base / plinth and corners.

If there are strong temperature changes or severe winters in the region, then it is worth choosing not ordinary foam, but bulk. This material retains heat better and is not afraid of moisture.

Rule # 5

When finishing the facade with sandwich panels, one cannot save on protective and disinfecting impregnations, because then the entire cladding will have to be changed.

  • It is imperative to treat the walls with an antiseptic and reinforcing deep penetration primer before installing the sheathing. Northern walls even in two doses at intervals of a day.
  • If the lathing for finishing is made of wood, then we treat the wood with a protective soil, and in addition, you can also paint it.
  • It is important not to forget about the organization of ventilation gaps - this applies to all materials that are attached to the crate, no matter whether it is metal or wood.
  • If the site has a close occurrence of groundwater, then additional waterproofing of the basement is required. A resin coating or roofing felt will do.

Thermal panels for insulating the facade of a house save up to 40 percent of heating costs, plus they guarantee dry walls and a comfortable indoor climate.

Summary

In the video presented in this article, it is described in detail about the installation of thermal panels on a metal crate.

I will be glad to discuss this interesting topic in the comments, and in the near future I promise a detailed article with photos of the "masterpiece" of my craftsmen. Maybe someone will advise an interesting painting option.

Popular facade panels with insulation act as insulation and decoration. This means that, unlike siding, they do not need additional insulation or mesh for installation.

Due to this, installation is faster, and the likelihood of errors at all stages of finishing is reduced by reducing these stages. Thermal panels have an insulating and decorative layer. The latter is often an imitation of stone, brick, tile.

Panels with insulation are produced in the form of blocks that are installed on the facade without mounting the crate. The thickness of the products ranges from 6 to 12 cm.

There are many types of panels, for every taste.

In addition to the finishing layer and the material, thanks to which thermal insulation is provided, they can have a hard layer and built-in fasteners at the bottom. Used as a decorating surface:

  • clinker, glazed or porcelain stoneware tiles with marble chips for grouting;
  • corrugated board with a pattern of natural materials or metal samples from aluminum;
  • wood chips;
  • imitation of stone or marble.

Attention: for the convenience of facing the corners, special elements are produced for them, which are chosen the same as the main wall, or stand out beautifully in a different shade.

Advantages and disadvantages

Installing panels for insulation and decoration provides you with many advantages:

  • reducing the cost of heating or air conditioning in the corresponding seasons due to insulation;
  • lightness, due to which the outside load on the walls and foundation is negligible;
  • gives a pleasant appearance to the building;
  • resistance to external influences - weather, mechanical, chemical;
  • easy to install without the help of professionals.

Few disadvantages that do not cover the disadvantages at all:

  • deformation of two-layer slabs due to different densities;
  • some types of brick slabs must be rubbed down after installation.

Sandwich panels

These are three-layer panels for insulating the facade of the house, which include insulation and cladding on both sides. As a finish, manufacturers use samples from shavings or metal. Such panels need additional coverage, as they do not look presentable. From such panels they can completely build new houses or insulate existing ones.

Sandwich panels for exterior decoration of the house can be characterized as lightweight, durable, heat-saving. They are made by pressing insulation and outer skin. The dimensions of such panels are 12 cm wide, 1–12 m long, 0.5–2.5 cm thick. Installation is facilitated by the presence of special locks.

Thermal panels

They are also durable, have a service life of up to 50 years. Mineral wool cannot be used as insulation in insulated facade tiles. They are available in different thicknesses - 6–8 cm, so to choose, be guided by the climate of the place where the house is located.

The optimal thickness of the panels will prevent the destruction of the house due to negative environmental factors or biological influences. Their main advantage is ease of maintenance, because they do not require much attention and low price compared to the cost of natural bricks.

Difficulty in installation may arise in case of unevenness of the walls - then you need to install a frame made of wood, having previously treated it with antiseptics, and then fix the warm facade panels. If you decorate a wooden house with panels for tiles, after a few years you can forget about the real material of the walls - so real is the imitation of stone or brick on clinker tiles.

Attention: designed for basement warm panels of dark shades, with a thicker decorative layer.

Thermal panel with plaster

They look like plaster, are produced from a foam board as insulation and marble chips in the size of 0.4–0.5 cm. Their thickness varies within 5–10 cm.

Thermal panels with marble chips.

Due to its structure, insulated wall panels successfully withstand aggressive environments and are glued to external walls using conventional foam glue. There are two similar ways of installing panels, which end with a joint seal:

  1. Standard grout with marble chips to match the sample.
  2. By gluing the profile pieces onto the sealant.

Nuances taken into account during installation

As mentioned earlier, insulated facade panels can be easily attached to flat walls without special preparation. Otherwise, you will need to level them by lining pieces of plywood, and before starting the installation of the panels, it is made with construction foam at the most convex point.

When the walls of the house are logs or you do not want to delay the installation process, the best options would be to install the crate. It will facilitate the installation process, make the facade ventilated, excluding the appearance of moisture under the finish. For a rough understanding of how the process of finishing facades goes, we provide the following instructions:

  • Around the building, below, a line is bounced off from which we will begin to install wall finishes;
  • If the building is with a plinth, a separate profile must also be installed on it to drain precipitation and support the panels above;
  • Next, you need to fix the frame from the bars that have dried and soaked in liquid from the fungus - here you need to take into account the dimensions of the panels;

Attention: use a level for the evenness of the lathing - samples with locks are almost impossible to fix on curved beams.

  • Start attaching the finishing material from any corner by mounting corners or sawing off and setting the ends at 45 degrees.

Advice: to install the panels, use self-tapping screws for walls made of wood or lathing, wall plugs for concrete or brick walls. In both cases, observe fasteners 4–5 cm longer.

  • Install subsequent rows offset for added strength. For this, samples are taken, cut to length or special.

Tip: to saw off the decorative part of the sample, take a grinder, picking up the required disc. The insulation can be carefully cut with a knife.

  • Grouting is always carried out in dry, warm weather.

Attention! If your panels do not have a hidden fastening, make holes strictly in the seams - they can then be easily masked with a selected composition.

Conclusion

You have learned what two- or three-layer samples are, some of the features of working with them. Now you can improve the appearance of the house with insulated material. Such cladding is made quickly, does not require a lot of associated costs, and most importantly, it will last a long time. You can learn more about the structure and installation in the process. Good luck with the finishing process.

Heat-saving facing panels for exterior decoration of facades perform the function of a finishing material together with room insulation. Using them is much more economical than purchasing conventional panels and insulation separately. The structure of all thermal insulation panels is the same. A two- or three-layer plate has a base - insulation, which is used as foam, mineral wool. The insulation is covered with a protective layer on top. On the front side, the facade panels with insulation are covered with a decorative layer. The most popular are heat-saving slabs made for brick, stone, clinker tiles.

Features of the use of plates

Thermal insulation cladding boards are used for finishing new buildings and restoring old buildings. Their installation does not require wall alignment. It is enough to fix the crate on the facade and you can start facing the building. Light weight and convenient fastening design allows you to clad the house with heat-saving plates on your own without outside help:

  • clinker thermal panels are most in demand for finishing a house under construction or renovating an old building. The technology of manufacturing a heat-insulating panel saves the owner's expenses by combining a beautiful cladding with house insulation;

    House facade decoration with thermal clinker panels

  • polymer-coated thermal insulation boards are well suited for restoration work. They give an old home a new look, increasing indoor comfort by conserving heat;
  • sandwich panels with a metal coating can serve as an independent material for the construction of walls of extensions, verandas and other things. Decorating the facade of your house with such material is very expensive.

Advantages and disadvantages

The advantages of the material include the following indicators:

  • a 40% reduction in costs for winter heating and summer air conditioning. For a couple of seasons, the cost of facing is paid off by energy saving;
  • light cladding does not create additional pressure on the foundation of the house;
  • a beautiful decorative coating is resistant to external mechanical influences, chemical compounds, negative weather conditions;
  • possibility of self-assembly at any time of the year.

There are few disadvantages of the stoves. You should pay attention to the following nuances:

  • two-layer plates are deformed during long-term storage. This is due to the different density of the constituent layers of the material. Three-layer panels tolerate this process painlessly, but their cost is slightly higher;
  • cheap imitation brick slabs need grouting after installation. This time-consuming work can be avoided by purchasing more expensive slabs with ready-made factory grout.

Sandwich panels

The device of a sandwich panel is a three-layer system consisting of an internal insulation, protected on both sides by a facing coating:

  • panels made of wood chips (chipboard, fiberboard or OSB) need additional front finishing. OSB-3 boards have another name - SIP-panels. In construction, they are used in Canadian technology for overlapping buildings and assembling the walls of houses;
  • in panels with a metal coating, aluminum or galvanized sheets are used, protected by a polymer layer. Plates are painted in different colors, a pattern is applied to imitate natural material: brick, stone, wood;
  • PVC coated panels are ideal for wall assembly. They are characterized by a long service life, do not create a large load on the foundation of the house, and retain heat well in the room.

As an inner layer of insulation, polyurethane foam, mineral wool or expanded polystyrene are used. Together with the adhesive, the insulation is attached to the outer skin by hot pressing. The resulting durable panel is lightweight with low thermal conductivity. A perfectly flat surface does not require finishing. The standard size of a sandwich panel is 1200 mm wide, the length can be from 1 to 12 m, and the thickness is 50-250 mm.

Read about the types of facade panels for exterior wall decoration of the house.

Wall sandwich panels are used for facing facades, erecting walls or partitions. For ease of installation, the ends of the plates are equipped with special locks. Wall slabs are available with a smooth or profiled surface. From the best side, panels made of bakelized plywood have been recommended. The material is resistant to aggressive environments and heavy loads.

Thermal panels

For the manufacture of clinker thermal panels, polyurethane foam and expanded polystyrene are used. The thickness of the slab is from 60 to 80 mm. The choice of thickness depends on the climatic zone where the house is built. Thermal panels are resistant to negative natural phenomena and are not affected by fungus. Subject to the installation technology, the service life of the cladding reaches 50 years.

Facing with thermal panels under a stone

Clinker cladding does not require special maintenance, saving the owner of the house from unnecessary work. The aesthetic appearance of the thermal panel adorns the building and retains heat. Modern manufacturers offer several types of clinker plates:

  • front covering of facade thermal panels with imitation of stone decorates the exterior of the house. The cladding protects the walls from mechanical and natural damage. Today, stone clinker cladding is the most popular;
  • are not inferior in popularity to facade thermal panels with imitation brick. The facing material has a low price. Imitating brick as a natural building material, the slabs create an attractive facade with perfectly even masonry. In real brickwork, such results are difficult to achieve. Thermal panels for brick are moisture resistant and have a long service life;
  • for cladding a wooden house, thermal panels with imitation of clinker tiles are used. Plates are mounted only on flat walls. If the facade has large irregularities, a wooden crate treated with an antiseptic is first mounted on it. Then the panels are attached directly to it. It is difficult to distinguish a finished wooden house with clinker tiles from a panel building;
  • insulation of the building basement is performed with basement thermal panels. For finishing the basement, it is customary to use clinker slabs of dark shades with a larger pattern.

Plinth trim with thermal panels

Thermal panel with decorative layer

Thermal panels for external facade cladding with decorative plaster are made of foam plastic board and marble chips. The panels are produced with a thickness of 50-100 mm.

Finishing with thermal panels with marble chips

Marble chips in the form of plaster with a thickness of 4-5 mm are applied to the foam at the factory. Plates are resistant to negative environmental influences. Thermopanels are glued to the facade with foam glue. The panels are mounted in two ways, differing in the sealing of seams:

  • the joints formed between the slabs are sealed with trowel paste. The minimum shrinkage of the paste is ensured by the presence of marble chips in its composition. The paste is matched to the color of the plate;
  • Sealing can be done with an aluminum profile, which additionally attaches the panels to the wall. The profile is fixed with dowels, applying a sealant between it and the joint of the panels.

Features of fastening heat-saving plates

Any slabs can be attached to a flat facade without lathing. The most convex elevation is determined on the wall and beacons are glued relative to it with foam in one plane. But this is a very long and laborious process. It is better to mount the lathing, which will additionally create a ventilated space between the wall and the cladding. The design of the lathing for each type of slab is almost the same. There may be minor differences due to the size and design of the panels. General installation instructions are as follows:

  1. At the bottom of the house, a horizontal line is struck along the perimeter. From it, heading up, the installation of the plates will begin.
  2. If the cladding is installed above the plinth, then a plinth ebb is attached above it. It will support the first row and will divert rainwater flowing from the walls.
  3. The lathing is made from wood blocks or metal profiles treated with an antiseptic. The size of the cells must correspond to the size of the plates, and all the guides must be in the same plane.
  4. Install the panels from the corner of the building from the bottom up. Corner elements are attached first. If they are absent, the end of the panels is cut at an angle of 45o.
  5. The panels are screwed to the crate with galvanized self-tapping screws.
  6. The next rows in height are arranged with an offset of the vertical seams relative to the previous row.
  7. Many panels are equipped with a concealed mount. If there are none, the mounting holes are drilled in the seams of the decor elements. The caps of the fastening screws are covered with a mastic of a suitable color.
  8. Grouting is performed at a positive air temperature and in dry weather.

The insulated facade panels installed in compliance with the technology will last for many years, keeping the house warm and delighting with the beauty of others.

Insulated cladding panels - universal facade material

To increase the thermal insulation of the house and give it a solid look, you need to do a lot of work on the installation of insulation and decorative coating. However, both material costs and labor costs can be significantly reduced by using special materials - panels for insulation with cladding.
Their installation is faster and easier than staged finishing, and the effect is the same.

What are insulated facade panels?

The principle of the structure of all such materials is the same - these are two-layer or three-layer panels, the basis of which is insulation (foam, mineral wool, expanded polystyrene, etc.), covered with a decorative layer on the front side.
Most popular materials:

  • Thermal panels with clinker tiles. They are different both in appearance and design.
    The simplest are two-layer panels for facing with insulation, in which facing tiles are glued to the polyurethane foam plate. There are three-layer panels with a load-bearing OSB bottom layer to give them rigidity, as well as panels with pressed metal inserts or molded plastic sleeves to facilitate installation.

  • Styrofoam panels with a decorative layer of plaster with colored marble chips. Their use allows you to create a seamless surface.

  • Metal sandwich panels are a "cake" stuffed with insulation, covered on both sides with painted aluminum sheets or corrugated board with a protective film. A drawing can be applied under the film, creating an imitation of popular facing materials - wood, stone, brickwork.

Insulated cladding panels made of corrugated board and mineral wool

For reference. SIP panels made of oriented strand board (OSB) can also be used for thermal insulation and cladding. But they require additional front finishing.

Features of the use of insulated panels

The materials described are suitable not only for the decoration of newly erected buildings, but also for the restoration of old and dilapidated buildings. For their installation, it is not required to strengthen or level the facade - it is enough to fix the crate on it.
And thanks to the low weight of the products and the well-thought-out design, the cladding is easy to do with your own hands without the involvement of specialists and lifting equipment. But this is not their only advantage.

Advantages of thermal panels

Among the many advantages that thermal panels of any type have, the following should be highlighted:

  • Reduction of costs for winter heating and summer air conditioning of insulated buildings by up to 40%. The rather high price of cladding pays off within several seasons, while the microclimate inside the house becomes much more comfortable.
  • The low weight not only facilitates installation, but also allows you to transform the appearance of the building without creating a critical load on the foundation, which is very important for existing buildings.

Note. The weight of clinker or artificial stone coated panels depends on the thickness of the decorative layer. Before choosing a material for the restoration of the facade of an old building, you need to make sure that its foundation will withstand the load generated by its weight.

Such a "brick" cladding weighs several times less than the real one, but it looks no worse

  • Regardless of the type of decorative coating, panels for insulation and cladding are highly resistant to such external influences as ultraviolet radiation, precipitation, temperature drops and its critical negative and positive values, chemical and mechanical damage.
  • Strength, reliability, long service life without the need for repair.
  • Non-flammability.
  • Environmental safety of the materials used.
  • Possibility of installation in all weather conditions.

Finally, a huge assortment of insulated panels is of great importance for the consumer, the ability to choose a decor that matches the style of the house, choose the desired color and texture, "change" the house into brick, stone, wood.

Several color options for brick panels

If you watch the video, you will see for yourself how easy this changing is, and how the appearance of the building is radically transformed.

disadvantages

There are not so many of them, but when choosing any material, you need to know about the disadvantages that it possesses so that they do not become an unpleasant surprise during installation or operation.

We will not classify the high cost of insulated panels as a disadvantage. Firstly, the range of prices depending on their type is quite significant, and secondly, you are unlikely to be able to save money by purchasing insulation and cladding separately and paying for the installation of each of them. A significant disadvantage of two-layer panels is their susceptibility to deformation during storage, which complicates installation. Since both layers have different density, structure and response to changes in environmental parameters, the product may warp.

In this regard, three-layer cladding panels with insulation are more reliable, they are devoid of such a drawback, but they are also more expensive.
Inexpensive panels that imitate brickwork, after installation, need to be grouted with special compounds that protect the insulation from destruction. This is a rather time-consuming and labor-intensive work, but it can be avoided if you buy facing slabs with seams already worn out in production.

Such panels need grouting with simultaneous masking of the attachment points.

Installation features

If the walls of the house are relatively flat, the panels can be attached directly to them, leveling minor irregularities with plywood or other materials during installation. Before it begins, the most convex point is determined, and in accordance with it, beacons are attached to the wall using mounting foam.
It is quite dreary and time-consuming, it is easier to immediately install the leveling crate. In addition, it will allow you to create a ventilated space under the cladding, which excludes the accumulation of moisture in the insulation, and will facilitate installation.
It differs slightly depending on the type and design features of the panels, but the general instructions are as follows:

  • A lower horizontal line is bounced along the entire perimeter of the building, from which facing will begin from bottom to top;
  • If the installation begins above the basement, then a basement profile is mounted on it, which serves as a support for the panels and removes precipitation flowing down the walls;
  • A lathing made of dry, treated with antifungal impregnation of bars is attached to the wall. The distance between them must correspond to the parameters of the panels;

Important! When installing the frame, it is necessary to carefully monitor the level, ensuring that all the guides lie in the same vertical plane.

  • Installation of panels is carried out from the bottom up from the corner. If corner pieces are available, attach them first. If not, the ends of the panels are filed for joining at an angle of 45 degrees;

The principle of attaching thermal panels to the wall

  • Fastening to a wooden lathing is done with self-tapping screws, to a brick or concrete wall - with dowel-nails. The length of the fastener should be 4-5 cm more than the thickness of the cladding;
  • Each subsequent row after the first row is mounted in such a way that the vertical seams are displaced. For this, additional panels or panels cut to length are used. The front part of the panel is sawn with a grinder with a disc corresponding to the material, while the insulation is easily cut with a knife;
  • If grouting is necessary, this work is best done in dry weather at a positive air temperature.

Most of the panels are concealed. If this is not the case, it is best to make the fastening holes in the seams between the decorative elements, and then mask it with a color-matched compound recommended by the manufacturer.

Conclusion

Many developers and people who are puzzled by exterior home renovations carefully choose cladding materials that meet their requirements for appearance and performance. In this regard, the facing insulated panel is an excellent choice that allows you to "kill two birds with one stone": to solve the problem with thermal insulation and transform the house beyond recognition in a matter of days.

A person is greeted by his “clothes”, and a house is greeted by the facade. Since you are looking for information about facade panels with insulation, it is clear that you are not indifferent to the appearance of your home. However, if the thermal panels have:

  • other benefits besides beauty?
  • What, in general, are thermal panels?
  • How are they made?
  • How do I mount them?

Everything in order in the article and two additional videos in the middle.

What's new or old?

Although for the CIS countries, panels for insulating the facade of a house are something new, in Europe the first houses with such insulation appeared more than 50 years ago. This difference in the markets is not surprising given the higher cost of warm panels. In a sense, they can be called a semi-finished product. And, as you know, any semi-finished product is more expensive than cooking yourself.

In a sense, the panels can be called a semi-finished product

What kind of sandwich is it and how is it eaten?

Facade panels for exterior decoration of the house are essentially a "sandwich", which consists of two or three layers:

  • Decorative facing layer;
  • Insulation;
  • Internal base.

Most often in the domestic market there are clinker panels for the facade. This type of insulation systems is a layer of expanded polystyrene or polyurethane foam into which clinker tiles are recessed during the production process. Clinker is a durable clay material that is manufactured at temperatures over 1000 degrees Celsius.

Clinker is a durable clay material

For the sake of fairness, it should be said that there are also panels covered with metal and decorative plaster. Why was this type of insulation called a semi-finished product a little higher? For example, because a person himself can cover the wall with foam and stick clinker tiles on it. However, this approach will take much more time, and, as a result, will differ greatly in aesthetic properties.

Facade panels for brick by foaming polystyrene foam or polyurethane foam (polyurethane foam), and then under pressure, as it were, soldered into the mass of clinker tiles. The result is a durable façade element. To tear off the tiles, you need to apply a force of 300 kg. It will be very difficult with your hands. Although, for the sake of fairness, it should be said that even a damaged panel element can be easily restored using polyurethane foam. You need to buy a suitable clinker tile (or use the one that has disappeared and apply a small layer of foam to the tile and to the place where it should be glued. Then carefully attach the tile to its original position. Below we will discuss three disadvantages of thermal panels. But, since one of them is related to editing, this issue will be discussed in the corresponding section.

Is there any alternative?

Yes. Clinker tiles often imitate brick, but someone will say why imitate? You can use clinker brick as a finish, but this one is suitable, has at least two disadvantages:

  • Price. If you consider an expensive panel with insulation, believe me, brick cladding will be much more expensive;
  • For a brick, you need to build a separate foundation, and this is additional time, effort and money.

Have you chosen? Are we mounting?

The insulated facade panels sit on the glue mixture or guides. But, before that, it is imperative to wipe the side edges of the panel with a brush. This is for better grip. If you have chosen an adhesive mixture, apply it to the back side of the panel, making it so that one thin layer covers the entire panel, as well as in several places - in the corners and in the center, make "bloopers" in accordance with the facade relief. Place the panel against the wall and let it stand for 5-10 minutes. After the panel has frozen, you can start adjusting. Arrange the panel using horizontal and vertical levels.

You need to start installation from the corner of the bottom row, and it is worth making a reservation that there are special corner panels. Carefully level them before applying the glue mixture - estimate, and only then mount them more thoroughly on the glue.

A day after shrinking on the glue, panels with insulation are attached with umbrella dowels into the pre-drilled holes between the seams.

The video below shows how guys from one Sumy company deftly cope with the installation process:

Particularly difficult wall sections

In places where the panel should adjoin a window opening or bypass, say, a gas pipe, you need to cut the panel. Use a grinder with a diamond wheel for this. As already mentioned, there are corner facade heat panels. In addition to ordinary and corner ones, there are thermal panels for special conditions, for example, beveled ones, but in any case, the "semi-finished product" also needs to be fried, and in our case, one cannot do without a cutter.

We are approaching the finish line

The last two stages of installing facade tiles with insulation is grouting. A trowel layer is applied to the entire surface and rubbed over the entire surface with a brush. It is necessary to carry out the joining no less than a day after the shrinkage on the glue (do not forget that fastening with dowels still lies between these two stages). After grouting, thoroughly wash the surface with a sponge. Grouting and washing the joints is not quick, but what to do, one of the downsides.

It is necessary to carry out the jointing in a day after shrinkage on the glue.

Let's summarize the summary of our review and a small instruction on the installation of panels for facade insulation.

  • Ease of installation, no wet processes;
  • Attractive appearance, imitating brick or stone;
  • Good thermal insulation.
  • Higher cost, before, say, plaster "Bark beetle";
  • The need for thorough grouting, followed by washing the solution.

If you love to experiment, why not use warm facade panels? But, it will be a rather long experiment. Wikipedia says panels last 50 to 100 years. So, perhaps our grandchildren will be able to find out about the results.

How to make a panel yourself?

As already mentioned, for the manufacture of thermal facade panels, polyurethane foam or foam is used. And this means, if clinker tiles are glued to the foam sheets, then, in fact, thermal panels are obtained. Although, this work is laborious, and is unlikely to pay off. In addition, there is an offer on sale called "Combeterm". This is a polystyrene foam sheet with clinker tiles already glued on. Such a solution will be cheaper than a panel with PU foam filling.

What do those who tried it say?

Below are three reviews of people who have already decided to use a panel with insulation as a finishing material for walls:

Yuri, 60 years old:

“The house was not insulated, I asked around, went to the Internet, found a company that is engaged in installation. That's how it started, I looked at several objects, talked to people, I liked it. We have a gas boiler, about 350 cubic meters of gas were burned a month. After insulating it turns out to be 250 maximum. In winter, they kept it at 24 degrees in the hall, 18-19 in the bedroom. Now we are reaching the same 24 degrees, but with less gas consumption. In the summer, before insulation, the house was warmed up to 28 degrees. It's much colder in summer now. Virtually all pluses: thermal insulation, soundproofing, and decor. Of the minuses, only mashing. Quite a boring event "

Alexey, 55 years old

“There was a question of house insulation, so I looked through a lot of information on the Internet, found about clinker panels. I had a desire not only to insulate with polystyrene, but to insulate with polystyrene and insulate with polystyrene and overlay with clinker bricks. But, for this it was necessary to make a foundation for a brick, that is, it was a lot of costs. Therefore, given that thermal panels with clinker tiles are both warm and reliable. My house was built with foam concrete fired in half a brick with sand-lime bricks with an air gap. And here's another 8 centimeters insulated with thermal panels. After insulation, minus 100 cubic meters of gas per month consumption. Real savings "

Andrey, 37 years old

“Before, let's say, the temperature in the house was 22-23, but the consumption was very high. Now the temperature in the house is the same, but the gas consumption is much lower. One and a half times exactly. We use 180-200 cubic meters. Again, the house was old, wooden, finished with bricks, and there was a draft, it was blowing. Now that we have insulated with thermal panels, it has become warm. Before the insulation there was no condensate, but now after the insulation it has become fine in general, the temperature of the house is excellent and the gas consumption is less. There are no downsides, let's say, the only thing, perhaps, is the price, but again, if you take all the components, all these corners, it turns into pluses. "

Recently, facade panels with insulation are becoming more and more popular, which simultaneously perform several functions: they provide a decorative beautiful appearance, insulate your home, and significantly save family budget funds. In terms of their structure, heat-insulating panels of two or three layers are approximately the same - mineral wool or polystyrene is used as insulation, then there is a protective layer, and outside there is a decorative layer - under a stone, tile, brick.

All facade panels can be divided into 2 groups:

  1. With insulation.
  2. No insulation.

If you classify them according to their characteristics, then you get a huge variety of panels for exterior decoration.

Table 1. General classification of facade panels.

Of course, consumers are much more likely to choose panels with insulation, because immediately with such a finish they seem to kill two birds with one stone - both insulate the home and give the house a beautiful look. Much also depends on the climatic conditions of the region of residence. If it is warm there all year round, then insulation is not needed.

A wide variety of facade panels

Facade panels with insulation for outdoor decoration

Easy to install and durable facade panels very economical in terms of price. If we compare the finished slab with insulation in terms of cost, then it is less than installing all its components separately:

  • Styrofoam;
  • its installation on a grid;
  • finishing with plaster or other material;
  • additional protective materials and means.

And here - all in one, and there is no need to build frames and grids - for installing tiles. Everything is attached to resins and adhesives, which additionally creates an external seal for the coating. And yet - important for home owners who have decided to decorate their building with facade panels - the stylish appearance of the building, which is sometimes indistinguishable from natural finishing materials: sandstone, marble, brick, granite, and so on.

Clinker tiles are also becoming especially popular as a decorative layer. It completely imitates brick or natural stone, and at a cost - several times less. Plus, the installation of such solid slabs is a matter that everyone can do, for this you do not need to have special professional skills of a builder.

Moreover, the external facade canvas looks like a solid one - without seams, gaps, transitions and displacements of the overall pattern.

Some craftsmen manage to stick the tiles on the foam panels on their own. But you should not do this, because this is a laborious process that does not save money, since today the market presents a huge variety of ready-made facade panels with insulation - at low prices. The so-called combiterm has spread, which is the most budgetary execution of facade panels.

Advantages

To summarize the above, such panels have a lot of advantages over other finishing materials:

  1. Fine keep warm in the House.
  2. Reduces noise in the House.
  3. Stylish and versatile.
  4. By low price.
  5. Harmless.
  6. Easy to install.
  7. Serve by 30-50 years old- without restorations and repairs.
  8. Not susceptible to precipitation, temperature, both low and high.
  9. Wide choose for every taste.

Insulated facade panels - types and quality

Exterior panels for houses differ in variety:

  • by invoice;
  • sizes;
  • base material and decor;
  • cost.

Varieties by materials

So, according to the materials from which the facade panels are created, they can be divided into main types:

  1. Metallic- with double-sided imposition of solid sheets of aluminum or galvanized steel, can be smooth or perforated, with any decor, but such an installation requires additional reinforcement and reinforcement, but it is more durable and reliable;
  2. Concrete coated- the most budgetary option, when a layer of concrete is applied to the foam, externally it is torn plastering, which gives style and originality to the facade;
  3. Metal + decorative plaster reliable and beautiful;
  4. Clinker, porcelain stoneware or glazed tiles with or without plaster - durable and offered in a wide range of imitation of natural materials and colors;
  5. At the base - bulk foam, which differs from usual in immunity to temperature extremes and moisture;
  6. Thermal panels with mineral wool as the main insulation material;
  7. Fiber cement- heavier and mainly used for finishing the base;
  8. From wood fibers- require impregnation for durability;
  9. Plastic- made of soft plastic with cells.

Thermal panels for a stone - reliable and beautiful

Note! Experts do not recommend installing external wood cladding - it is always exposed to moisture, even if soaked in sealed solutions. Also, plastic should be installed taking into account climatic conditions. If the temperature in winter is low, then such material is not frost-resistant and will deform.

Types of panels for imitation

All facade panels are practically indistinguishable from natural materials in appearance:

  • wood;
  • stone;
  • tiles;
  • bricks.

This is possible thanks to modern technologies for the production of panels that completely imitate natural components. Moreover, you can choose a panel any shade, any stone- by texture and degree of processing, any type of wood. Externally, the finish can easily resemble raw sandstone or smooth treated marble or granite, as well as solid pine or oak.

Different sizes

By size, all slabs can be classified into types:

  1. Two-layer.
  2. Three-layer.

The latter includes sandwich panels, in which the cladding is located on both sides of the main insulation material. But the disadvantage of such coatings is the need for additional external finishing, since the appearance is not very pleasing to the eye.

The range of sizes of these external heaters is also huge - from 4 cm thick up to 12-15 cm.

Rigidity and reliability

According to the stiffness, the panels can be divided into the following types:

  • with the presence of a third hard layer;
  • with thorns-grooves;
  • with built-in metal fixing plates;
  • with the presence of a sleeve for plastic fasteners, etc.

All these devices slightly increase the cost of the plates, but they are the guarantor of the durability of use - at least 50 years old.

House decoration with facade panels with insulation

When decorating a house with these plates, there are practically no difficulties.

But in order for the external facade to serve for many decades - without repair and reconstruction, it is worth observing basic finishing rules:

  1. Before choosing a material calculate the load on the walls and foundation, This is especially true for metal or concrete (heavier) panels, especially for old houses with strip foundations.
  2. If you decide to glue blocks with clinker tiles, then provide for installation work with crate.
  3. For lathing you should not choose materials that are susceptible to moisture and temperature extremes, for example, wood - it begins to rot quickly, it is better to use metal for this purpose.
  4. Pay attention to the strength of the walls, before work, strengthen them with reinforcement and plastering - to give the walls evenness and in order to strengthen them.
  5. If in doubt about the bearing capacity of the walls, then choose lighter boards with insulation.
  6. Think over the overall design of the facade before buying slabs;
  7. Calculate the total number of panels in the area of the outer walls of your home.
  8. For the base, use more reliable types- from metal with decorative plaster, or from pressed cement and decor for wood, brick (there are many options), also made of metal.
  9. If groundwater is close to the foundation, then it is worth strengthening the basement with waterproofing materials, for example, roofing material, resins, special paints.
  10. When installing panels do not save on protective materials or solutions for disinfection of deep penetration, otherwise, while saving sealants, mold may develop, and with an insufficient amount of antiseptic solution, insects appear that corrode the panel from the inside.
  11. When finishing pay special attention to the exit points of the ventilation system, panels should be reinforced as firmly as possible.

In any case, consultations with a specialist will not interfere, he will advise how to take into account when finishing the type of your soil on which the house stands, the foundation, the age of the house, the former exterior wall decoration, the places where pipes and drains exit, and so on.

Undoubted pros and cons

Observing all these settings, you can achieve an excellent result in the external insulation of the house and get undoubted bonuses from this:

  • quick and easy installation;
  • saving heat;
  • reducing the cost of paying for electricity;
  • style and originality on the outside;
  • small costs;
  • the durability of the new facade.

Of the minuses, experts note the frequent mixing of layers of two-layer slabs due to the different density of the material, therefore when buying, make sure that all panels are homogeneous, otherwise, after installation, additional work will have to be done - for example, grouting the panels.

Clinker panels

Clinker tiles are the most common decorative part with insulation among panels. Thanks to the variety of colors and imitations, it will fit into any home furnishings interior, it can be:

  • marbled;
  • quartz;
  • sandstone;
  • brick;
  • quarrystone and other stones.

Prices for various types of clinker panels

Manufacturing technology

The name of the tile is due to the main external element of the decor - clinker - clay tiles, with a complex manufacturing technology by firing at a temperature more than a thousand degrees. Then these heavy-duty boards are completely embedded in polystyrene foam or polyurethane foam using a special technique. Experts have proven that tearing off such a tile almost impossible, for this you need a jackhammer and a force of more than three hundred kilograms. Tile tearing is extremely rare, and then this defect can be easily eliminated using polyurethane foam.

Structure

Most often, the main insulation in such plates is OSB - a multilayer material made of shavings and chips, this provides not only strength, but also additional rigidity to the insulation. Also act as a basis:

  • expanded polystyrene;
  • polyurethane foam;
  • Styrofoam.

Owners like this type of cladding also because the facade in the future It does not require special care- the appearance is always like new and just produced. In addition, this type of panel reliably protects the walls of the house from destruction and environmental influences.

Features of installation of external panels with insulation

The ease of installation of the panels is due to the flat surface of the walls outside the house. If they are deformed or uneven, then plastering and rubbing should be done first. After all, if the surface is even, then the slabs can be applied without lathing and frames - with glue and resins.

Step-by-step installation instructions

Step 1. Cooking tools: hacksaw or grinder, hammer, level, tape measure, screwdriver, marker.

Step 2. Align the walls - according to the level of the most convex place.

Step 3. If you want to create a ventilated space between the cladding and the wall, make a crate - preferably from metal profiles. We make markings before installing the lathing with a step in 40 cm.

Step 4. We fix the corner elements or screw the screws to the crate, the caps of which are subsequently covered with the corresponding color with mastic. We fix the slabs from any corner from bottom to top. NS

Step 5. We distribute the glue evenly over the entire area of the plate, and in the center and in the corners we make glue points, as it were. When fixing, press for 10 seconds, then let stand for 5 minutes.

Step 6. We constantly check the correctness of installation with the help of a level.

Step 7. Where communicative pipes go out or there are window openings, we cut the slab to size using a grinder. Seams are wiped in dry warm weather.

Step 8. 24 hours after gluing the boards, they are additionally fastened with special dowels into the seams.

Step 9. Grouting is done by applying a grouting mixture to the entire surface of the panels, after which, after about a day, wipe the decor with a sponge or also the entire surface. If you do not want to grout yourself, you can purchase more expensive slabs with ready-made grout from the manufacturer.

That's it - you got a beautiful facade of the house and excellent thermal insulation. Statistics prove that with the correct installation of the facade with panels with insulation, the owners of such a house subsequently save up to 35% from the costs of internal heating, and after 2 years energy-saving factors compensate for all the costs of purchasing and installing this type of cladding.

Panels for a stone - for the facade and with insulation

Today it is easy to decorate your home with different stone-imitating panels - just choose which stone is preferable for you:

  • quartz;
  • marble;
  • travertine;
  • sandstone;
  • granite;
  • limestone;
  • dolomite, etc.

To do this, simply select the slabs that reproduce these types of stones as much as possible. All of them must meet the criteria:

  • low thermal conductivity;
  • resistance to external factors;
  • tightness;
  • free of toxic compounds and any level of danger to human health;
  • incombustibility;
  • long-term;
  • ease of installation.

All the criteria are fully met by stone panels made with decor from different materials:

  1. Metal.
  2. Vinyl- preferable for interior work.
  3. Acrylic.
  4. Fiber cement.
  5. Clinker.

These types of finishes are outwardly indistinguishable from cobblestone, flat, rocky, burnt stone. Modern technologies for the production of such panels help to reproduce natural natural stones - with maximum accuracy. But the price is very different from the cost of natural representatives, although in terms of performance, the insulation panels also stand at a height and are not inferior to natural materials. Even special basement slabs for stone have been developed, with a high level of strength, a darker and larger pattern. Most often, they are made of metal, which allows you to protect the lower part of the walls from influences of any nature, including moisture and temperature, wind, ultraviolet radiation. In addition, such insulation, stone-imitating slabs give the overall facade an original, expensive look.

How to choose?

The market is rich in a variety of facade panels. How to choose those that will last a long time and will not require overpayments. To do this, you must follow the usual rules:

  1. Purchase from the manufacturer or a full-fledged representative.
  2. At the time of buying check licenses and certificates on the panel.
  3. Read the instructions carefully.
  4. Get guarantees in case of breakdowns or defects.
  5. Read forums and reviews on a particular panel.
  6. Consider climatic conditions your region.
  7. Consult with specialists.

If you do everything correctly, then the facade panels with insulation will reciprocate you and will last for many years without breakdowns and deformations. And your house will always look like it has just been built and will have its own style and originality.

Indeed, in your work on the design of the facade, you can be guided by the mixing of styles, at the same time using, for example, plaster and panels, or natural stones at the bottom - panels at the top, and so on. There is a runaway for imagination and the embodiment of the most unusual desires for the look of the house. But it is important that in addition to appearance, with the help of this type of facade panels, you simultaneously insulate it, and also reduce the level of noise penetration into the house. All these factors will help to preserve the coziness of home, a comfortable stay at home.

The topic of the article is panels for insulating the facade of the house. Having appeared on the modern building materials market, thermal insulation decorative panels have not gained much popularity. The reason is the higher price than that of the time-tested old technologies. But this material did not leave the market either, like many innovations that manufacturers pinned their hopes on. So, in this article we will deal with panels for insulating and decorating the outer walls of buildings, what materials they are made of, what methods are used during installation.

What are panels for facade insulation

Firstly, it is a multi-layer plate-type material. But there are three main layers: insulation, which is represented by two materials: polystyrene foam and polyurethane foam, a decorative panel and a base. In some models of thermal panels, the base is missing. Today manufacturers offer a huge amount of cladding in terms of their decorative content: colors, shapes, patterns, imitations.

As for the material, there are only four positions:

    Clinker tiles. It is simply glued to the insulation in a checkerboard pattern. OSB boards are used as a basis, which give the material additional rigidity. This variety has a stylish design that suburban developers love very much.

    Decorative plaster applied to the expanded polystyrene board. There are a huge number of decoration variations, there are even thermal insulation boards on the market, finished with quartz or marble chips. A distinctive feature of this type is the ability to create a seamless surface on the facade.

    Metallic coating. In fact, these are standard sandwich panels, only in small sizes. This is a three-layer material in which insulation is laid between two sheets of metal. As a metal cladding, sheets are used either from aluminum alloys, or from galvanized iron, painted or coated with a polymer layer. Today on the market you can buy thermal panels, sheathed on both sides with corrugated board.

    Artificial stone in the form of a concrete solution, decorated with a torn stone. These are heavy slabs, but among all the types in the category presented, the cheapest. Water-repellent and strengthening additives are added to concrete, so that they feel great on the facades of houses.

Thermal panel characteristics

Considering the characteristics of thermal panels for exterior decoration of a house, you begin to understand that this finishing material is in no way inferior to other technologies for warming and decorating facades. And if in some positions it does not exceed, then, in any case, it is not worse. Therefore, it is worth wondering why it is not so actively used in private housing construction.

Judge for yourself:

    Thermal conductivity corresponds to the characteristics of the insulation used in thermal panels. And since foam polypropylene and polyurethane are placed in this material, it is impossible to find the best option today. For information: thermal conductivity of polystyrene foam - 0.25 W / m K, polyurethane foam - 0.19 W / m K.

    Video description

    We will dwell in more detail on the insulation of the house with polystyrene foam. Find out how safe polystyrene foam is in our video:

    The density of the used heat-insulating material is 40-70 kg / m³. This indicates the high strength of the panels. That is, a simple push of the hand will not damage this material. And for facades this is an important indicator.

    The operating temperature range varies from -170C to + 170C. You don't even need to explain anything here. Let's just designate that there is no place on the planet where thermal panels cannot be used.

    The cladding material does not corrode, rodents and insects, mold and fungi do not start in it.

On our website you can find contacts of construction companies that offer an audit service for construction work. You can communicate directly with representatives by visiting the Low-Rise Country exhibition of houses.

    Manufacturers guarantee that this type of facade cladding will last 50 years. It is impossible to check this now, because panels of this type have appeared on the Russian market relatively recently.

    Cladding panels for the facade of a house with insulation are an excellent sound insulator. It dampens external noises very well, so in this regard, the conditions in the rooms are ideal.

    Panels are products with a low specific weight; concrete modification stands out among them. But it is not so heavy as to talk about the need to strengthen the foundation. You just have to pay attention to the quality condition of the wall exposed to the cladding.

    Excellent vapor permeability. That is, the stacked panels do not interfere with the walls of the house "to breathe".

    Attractive appearance. There is no point in even arguing here. In addition, a huge variety of the proposed varieties will allow you to choose a suburban area for the overall design.

    Practice shows that if you carry out the installation correctly, you can save a lot on heating. The following figures appear: 30-40%.

Source sargorstroy.ru

The only characteristic that can be attributed to the group of "negative" is the flammability of the presented finishing material. Yes, unfortunately, thermal panels burn and support combustion, while emitting toxic smoke. It is clear that the insulation is on fire, not the cladding.

As you can see, the technical and operational characteristics simply had to open a wide road for the facing panels with insulation. But that did not happen. And the point here is not only in the cost of products (very expensive additional finishing elements). The service for installation on external walls is high in cost.

On our website you can familiarize yourself with the most popular projects of modular houses from construction companies presented at the exhibition of houses "Low-rise Country".

Wall cladding technology with thermal panels

Before proceeding directly to an overview of the method of installing wall panels for exterior decoration of a house with insulation, we will give several important tips that will increase the quality of the final result.

    Do not use the services of dubious craftsmen. Thermal panels are expensive material, if the end result disappoints you, then you should know that you yourself are to blame. Only a professional approach will guarantee the high quality of the cladding. Therefore, the advice - when choosing a brigade, ask them to show their work on laying decorative panels with insulation. Talk to the owners of the houses. This is the most objective assessment.

Source tver-sas.ru

    Since the panel mounting technology is a frame one, it is better to use a metal profile rather than wooden bars as elements of the lathing.

    Before starting work, it is recommended to repair the facade of the house. It is not necessary to align it, but it is imperative to patch up defects in the form of cracks, holes and other things. Allocate money to prime the wall surface as well. The liquid will bind together the particles of the material from which the wall is built. This means that the surface will not become dusty.

    Pay attention to the thickness of the panels. For example, you shouldn't purchase thick trims in the southern regions. You can save a lot on this, because the thicker the material, the more expensive it is.

    If basement panels with insulation for the exterior decoration of the house are chosen for finishing the foundation, then you should first think about which type to choose. This will mainly depend on the water table and the width of the eaves. That is, the higher the GWL and the narrower the overhang, the more intensively the cladding will be exposed to the negative effects of moisture. In this case, it is recommended to use concrete or metal models. At the same time, experts advise to pay additional attention to waterproofing the foundation.

Video description

In the video, a facade decorating specialist talks about thermal panels:

Installation types

There are two technologies used to decorate facades with thermal panels:

    Frameless. The finishing material is nailed to the walls with dowels. For this, at the stage of material production, mounting holes are made in it. This installation option is the simplest, but it has one requirement - a flat wall surface.

    Wireframe. Everything is clear here - a frame is mounted on the wall of the house, on which the panels are installed and fastened. That is, there is no need to align the front wall.

Immediately it is necessary to make a reservation that the process of wall cladding begins with finishing the basement. That is, the basement base is covered with thermo panels so that they are sunk into the ground or in the blind area by 2-3 cm.Then an ebb is installed that covers the horizontal plane of the base. And only then they move on to the wall cladding.

An important part of the process is to carry out the installation in even rows, laid horizontally. With frameless technology, the panels are simply applied to the wall surface, marks are made through the mounting holes, holes are drilled on them in the facade of the house, then the panels are again attached and fixed with dowels. The hats of the latter are subsequently painted in the color of the facade finish.

This might be interesting! In the article at the following link, read.

As for the frame method, it is clear that, first of all, the frame is assembled on the wall of the house. As mentioned above, the best option is galvanized iron metal profiles, which are used when installing drywall. The use of wooden slats is not prohibited. They just have to be treated with an antiseptic, after drying with a fire retardant. We add that wood on the street is not the most reliable material. Over time, under the influence of changing humidity and temperature, the bars will begin to warp. And this will lead to damage to the cladding itself.

Installation of thermal panels on a frame is no different from frameless technology. It's just that instead of dowels, self-tapping screws are used here.

It should be noted that both technologies are so simple that one wonders why the masters inflate prices so much. No complicated construction operations, no unusual procedures. The main thing is to assemble the facade structure in one vertical plane. And this does not require sophisticated tools or foreign equipment. The only thing that masters use: a laser level and a screwdriver.

There is another finish option. To do this, use panels that come in separate parts. For example, insulation sheets are supplied separately, precisely cut to the shape and dimensions of the panels, clinker tiles are supplied separately. Installation technology is as follows:

    Insulation is attached to the wall using mushroom dowels (they are often called disc-shaped). Holes are made in it for each dowel and a seat for its wide head.

    Then clinker tiles are attached to the heat insulator with a special adhesive. For the latter, there are already prepared seats on the insulation.

    After that, a color-selected grout is applied between the tiles.

Conclusion on the topic

In fact, decorative panels with insulation are an unusual material. Now it is possible to create a finish on the facade of the house, which is included in the category "two in one". It is not clear only why manufacturers so inflate prices. After all, the production technology of this material is simple.
