Reference. For pyrolysis combustion, the most diverse solid fuel containing hydrocarbon connections is used. An example is the production of liquid fuel from old automotive tires or grinding of garbage in industrial gas generator furnaces.

How is the wood pyrolysis:

  1. In a closed reservoir (reactor), a certain amount of crushed wood or sawdust is loaded.

2 types of gas generator boilers

The principle of operation of both aggregates is the same, only burning is organized in different ways. In any pyrolysis boiler there are 2 cameras:

  • a fuel, where burning, decomposition of firewood with separation of combustible gases;
  • the secondary chamber, where the furnace gases burn out, highlighting additional heat.

That is, the principle of the pyrolysis boiler is based on a separate fuel burning. Wood burns, gives heat and heats up the upper layers, which is precipitated by carbon monoxide and hydrogen. The mixture enters the secondary chamber and burns due to a separate air supply.

For a more understandable description of wood and coal heat generators, we decided to take advantage of the classification of the famous Czech ATMOS company, which produces two-chamber heaters for more than 10 years. So, boilers are divided into 2 groups:

  1. Ordinary pyrolysis. Here, the separation supply of air is organized due to the natural thrust of the chimney.
  2. Gasifying models with compulsory upgrade using a fan (or smoke), equipped with automatic.

In general, the design of these boilers repeats the device of pyrolysis heat generators, but there are significant differences:

  • primary and secondary air is injected with a fan, as a rule, with a smoke activity;
  • air flows are directed to fuel from the side walls;
  • the temperature of the coolant is controlled by the automation unit;
  • changed the shape of a ceramic nozzle and a bump in the secondary compartment;
  • in the back of the heat-tube heat exchanger;
  • The efficiency of the boilers lies within 81 ... 87%, the greatest flame torch temperature is 1250 ° C (the data of the manufacturer "Atmos").

Gas-generating boilers of different brands may differ in small-scale shape - a form of the fuel, methods of air distribution in chambers, a nozzle configuration. Operating Rules

To get a good heat transfer from a gas generator heater with minimal fuel consumption, manufacturers recommend adhere to the following rules:

  • use only dry firewood, permissible humidity 12 ... 20%;
  • when installing and strapping the boiler, it is necessary to apply a three-way mixing valve or a complex LADDOMAT-21 device to support the temperature in the return line at 65 ° C;
  • the operating temperature of the coolant on the supply - 80 ... 90 ° C;
  • the heat generator should work on the power close to the maximum, it is impossible to operate the unit in low-performance mode for a long time (less than 50%);
  • it is very desirable to cooke with large lamps, but not round decks;
  • together with pyrolysis boilers, it is strongly recommended to use a buffer container that will accumulate excess thermal energy;
  • the requirement for the minimal volume of the heat accumulator is 25 liters for each kilowatt of the power of the heater.

The supply of coolant into the boiler must be adjusted to the three-way valve. After the buffer tank, another mixing unit is placed to reduce water temperature.

The use of buffer containers is due to the effective mode of operation of the boiler - intensive burning, the temperature at the outlet of 80 ... 90 degrees. It is under such conditions that the high efficiency of 86-87% is achieved.
