How to save yourself in the heat in the apartment. What to do if it's hot? How to save yourself from the heat in the apartment? How to save yourself from the heat on the street? Refreshing drinks at home

Up-to-date tips on how to save yourself from the heat indoors and outdoors.

Along with the long-awaited summer comes abnormal heat. Many people simply cannot stand the heat, they feel bad and hard. Even those who love the heat are not always ready to endure temperatures below 30 °.

Important: The surest way to avoid heat in an apartment or house is to install air conditioning.

But if for some reason you don’t have air conditioning in your apartment or house, you will have to look for other ways to solve such a problem as heat.

How to avoid heat in an apartment or house?

  • Open windows and balconies at night. In the daytime, when the sun appears, be sure to close all windows and the balcony. At night, on the contrary, open. This will help keep the heat out of the room.
  • Tape the windows with reflective film. It is especially good to do this in those rooms that are on the sunny side. Reflective film is not very expensive, but it works effectively. Regular foil will do.
  • Close windows with blinds or curtains. The less light that enters the room, the better. The sun can heat up the temperature in a room by 10°C or more. Therefore, it is better to create twilight in the rooms with thick curtains or blinds.
  • Instead of an air conditioner, you can use a fan. A fan is much cheaper than an air conditioner, but it can come in handy in hot weather. Cooling from a fan will be especially effective if you put a couple of bottles of frozen water in front of it. You can also put a fan near an open window, it will disperse the air coming from the street.
  • Limit the use of ovens and stovetops. This in no way means that you should completely switch to food in cafes and canteens, but you should cook simpler food, as heating stoves and ovens leads to unbearable stuffiness, especially if the apartment is small.
  • Regularly carry out wet cleaning. Get in the habit of daily wet cleaning throughout the apartment. This is not only useful, but also cools the room by several degrees in the hot summer.
  • If you have a hot towel rail in your bathroom, just wrap it in foil.

Important: There is a lot of talk about the rules of being outside in the summer, however, most people forget about them. They remember only when the sun is already preventing you from feeling normal. We recall these simple rules.

How to survive the heat?
  • Before going outside take a refreshing shower. No need to take a cold shower, sharp temperature contrasts are not helpful. It is enough just to freshen up with slightly warm water.
  • Headdress required. A hat is especially useful if you are outside during the peak of the heat. The choice of headwear is great - hats, bandanas, baseball caps. Choose the most suitable options for you, but don't give yourself a sunstroke.
  • Sounds trite, but desirable stay at home during the afternoon peak of the heat. If there is no urgent need, it is better to resolve matters before the moment when the peak of solar activity comes, namely from 12 to 14 hours.
  • Wear cotton clothing. Loose cotton clothing makes you feel much more comfortable in the heat. If you do not want to get sunburned, choose clothing that covers the body as much as possible. Synthetics are not the best choice in general, and even more so in the heat, in such clothes you will be even hotter.
  • Take it to the street cold drinks- water, green tea, homemade lemonade. In the heat, it is unacceptable to get involved in beer, coffee, cocktails with vodka. This leads to dehydration of the body.
  • Women can put in a purse small fan. This simple device will help you escape from stuffiness in public transport, in crowded places.
  • If you went outside during the peak of the heat and you have an extra minute, eat ice cream in the shadow. Just don’t get carried away with ice cream, in the summer people often get a sore throat due to hypothermia of the throat.

Important: Many doctors recommend walking barefoot on the grass in summer. On the soles of the feet there are many points that stimulate the work of internal organs. As a result of walking barefoot on the grass, biologically active points are stimulated, blood circulation is stimulated, which leads to an increase in body tone.

summer heat

Exhausting heat often prevents sleep at night. What to do? The answer is to look for simple but effective ways to cool.

  • If you have indoor plants in your room, spray them with water from a spray bottle. Moisture in plants will last for a long time and thereby facilitate your breathing.
  • Place next to bed water bottle so that you can always freshen up at night.
  • Linens should be made of natural fabric, it is not so hot to sleep on it. Some people cool their laundry in the refrigerator before going to bed. We do not recommend doing this. This method of cooling can lead to inflammatory diseases.
  • Do it at night slight draft in the apartment. Draft is something that many people are so afraid of, but in the heat it helps out well. If the layout of the apartment does not allow you to create a draft, open the windows wide. Anti-mosquito nets save you from mosquitoes and other insects flying at night.
  • Install fan at minimum or medium speed, placing it at your feet. In terms of thermoregulation, this is the best way to cool.

How to keep the room cool?

How else can you help the body endure the summer heat:

  • Wear minimal make-up on your skin.
  • Gather long hair in a bun.
  • The heat is easier to bear if you are on the beach.
  • Eat light meals, limit heavy and fatty foods, and sweets.
  • Sweet sodas do not help quench your thirst, it is better to drink plain water, green tea, mint tea, water with lemon and mint, lemonade.
  • Reduce active physical activity (running, weight training, cardio), temporarily switch to more relaxed sports (walking, swimming, gymnastics with yoga elements).

Summer heat is the time for homemade cooling drinks

If you approach the issue of heat correctly, you can endure this time calmly and without suffering for the body. Until the thermometer begins to slowly fall down. It would be useful to know what to do if suddenly a person has a heat and sunstroke. You will learn about this by watching the video.

Video: Heat and sunstroke, what to do?

When the thermometer does not drop below +30, when the asphalt melts, and the air seems viscous and thick, like jelly? Many people feel extremely uncomfortable during the summer. Try to use the tips below - and the long-awaited relief will surely come.

How to beat the heat at home

First of all, you should pay attention to the windows. Curtains or blinds hung on them will already reduce the temperature inside the room by 3-10 degrees. In addition, a reflective film glued to the windows or sewn to the curtains for the summer period will help. Windows should only be opened wide in the early morning and late evening. If possible, sleep with open windows and a balcony.

You can refuse an expensive air conditioner if you buy a fan and make it so that, while working, it blows a container with ice or cold air will enter the apartment. And to reduce energy losses from fan operation, say goodbye to old incandescent lamps and replace them with energy-saving ones. Which, in addition to their direct purpose, emit 4/5 less heat than those familiar to us.

The diet on hot days is fresh vegetables and fruits, cold snacks, in general, foods that do not require cooking on the stove or in the oven. You can drink hot tea or cold water (only in small sips so as not to chill your throat).

It is better to take a warm shower, with a water temperature above 20 degrees - then the blood will not rush to the skin to compensate for its cooling. If it becomes completely unbearable, a remedy from India will help, where they escape from the heat by wrapping a turban from a wet towel around their heads.

Bed linen folded in a plastic bag should be placed in the refrigerator 2-3 hours before bedtime. When choosing it for the summer, by the way, give preference to light and natural fabrics. And at night, a bottle of cold water should be "on duty" near the bed for drinking and rubbing the face.

How to beat the heat at work

Clothing - spacious, light colors, cotton or other natural fabrics. Makeup, cream, antiperspirants - to a minimum: women, take pity on your skin, it's not easy for her.

Saviors who are always with you: a bottle of water that has lain overnight in the freezer, a handkerchief and a fan. Water, however, will have to be drunk as it thaws, in a small sip. A handkerchief is useful for wetting and wiping the face and hands.

Try to move all the important and necessary things to the first half of the working day, while it is still not so hot. Then the head will be much more difficult to think.

To humidify the air in the working room, you can use a small spray gun, a houseplant with large leaves, a small aquarium (you can also without fish).

During your lunch break, just like at home, give up heavy meals and coffee in favor of vegetable salad, fruits and green tea.

How to beat the heat in your car

The easiest way is to wash and polish it regularly. A perfectly clean car perfectly reflects the scorching sun.

Protect the car interior with sun shades on each window (inside) and a reflective screen on the windshield (outside, the edges of the screen must be clamped by doors).

To keep the air in the cabin cooler, place containers of ice or frozen water (in reasonable quantities and appropriately packaged) on the rear seat.

Use Pine Tree essential oil, known for its refreshing effect when inhaled.

How to escape the heat in general

Walk barefoot.

Quench your thirst with mineral water, water with lemon, compotes, fresh juices.

To quench your thirst, and for the benefit of the body, you can use cucumbers, tomatoes, watermelon and other fruits that contain a lot of water.

Do not quench your thirst with beer and other alcoholic beverages (dehydration), coffee (increased pressure on blood vessels), lemonades (a large amount of sugar increases blood pressure).

Try not to go outside from 11 am to 5 pm, in the heat of the day.

Do not turn on household appliances that heat the air during the day.

Get out of the city to nature, to a natural reservoir (stream, lake, river, sea, ocean).

All year round (not just in summer) lead a healthy lifestyle - it will help you easily adapt to any season and any weather.

This year, summer spoils us simply royally: heat, occasional thunderstorms and little rain. By the sea, such weather would be ideal, but the city is melting from extreme temperatures. We figure out how to use simple ways to turn an apartment into an oasis of coolness.

Change text size: A A

Summer this year was a success, pah-pah not to jinx it. Heat up to +35, rare thunderstorms. In general, the weather is almost resort, seaside. Only now there is no sea in the central strip of Russia, and the cool breeze does not blow over our bodies, exhausted by the heat. The dusty, gassed city is melting from high temperatures, and we are suffocating in dust and soot. One salvation is to hide at home, under a roof and behind thick walls. Wow, and here, it turns out, a real bath. Whatever you touch - everything gives off heat. Do you really have to sit out in a cool bath? No way - let's go invent a home air conditioner.

We began to collect folk ways to save an apartment from the summer heat just at the time when unbearable heat came to Ryazan. To begin with, all the carpets were removed. Walking barefoot on a bare floor is more pleasant than walking on a wool pile - you immediately feel cool. Well, at the same time they got rid of a pile of vases, figurines, lace napkins and other cute nonsense that warms the soul so much in the cold season and incredibly quickly overgrown with dust in the summer when all the windows are wide open. How painful it is to wash-wash all this every week - it's time to take a break.

Method one. In deep siege

My apartment is on a sunny side. In winter, we have wind and cold, and in summer - unbearable closeness. You also don’t really want to hang curtains from the sun on the windows, otherwise it will completely block the access of air to the apartment. But to isolate ourselves from the sun is quite in our power. I borrowed this method from the mother of one of my girlfriends - every summer, with the onset of heat, she seals the windows with foil and feels great. We didn’t have a lot of food foil, but it was enough for one room. Glue does not take foil, so we used tape. It is very inconvenient to work with foil - it is thin, slides on glass and constantly breaks, especially when children pull it against each other. Due to inexperience, we made a huge mistake - we glued part of the foil onto the glass. Traces of adhesive tape, alas, are not erased by anything. It is better, of course, to mount it on the frame.

When we finished, polar night fell in the room. How good it was for the first half an hour, when the sun finally stopped mercilessly roasting me from all sides, hitting the monitor and heating all objects within a radius of three meters from the window. Immediately pulled into sleep. But then one wanted to read, the other decided to collect puzzles on the floor. I had to turn on the light. And it's at noon. No, I am still firmly convinced that the deficit of sunlight accumulated over the winter must be replenished at all costs. And if you also live with artificial lighting in the summer, the body simply cannot stand it.

Method two. Carlson himself

Overboard +34. It's time to invent a home air conditioner according to the instructions of Aunt Sveta from the second entrance. During a conversation on a bench, a neighbor said that she had been struggling with the heat in this way for the third year already.

To build this device, we used the most sophisticated super-technological equipment: an old fan and three or four plastic bottles. Neighbors helped with empty bottles. We filled all the bottles with cold water and put them in the freezer. The car is a beast! After 40 minutes, I have four 1.5-liter ice cubes in my hands. Strictly following the recommendations of Aunt Sveta, I put the fan in the corner of the room and direct it in the direction opposite to the window. In front of him on a stand - all four frozen bottles.

At night, Aunt Sveta's development had to be slightly improved. First, I turned the fan away from the bed - it smelled of ice so much that I began to miss the quilt. Secondly, she placed a large tray under the bottles - thawed water flowed from them to the floor.

The third method or Chyort pobieri!

Don't even think! my mother protested when the children and I pulled out an old thick hose from the bowels of the pantry.

Calm down, grandma! Now we will make one little experiment, and we will return everything as it was, - the eldest son said authoritatively, putting one end of the hose on the kitchen faucet.

I discovered this method on a women's forum and, frankly, I did not believe in its effectiveness. Well, since we decided to try everything, then there is nowhere to go.

The protagonist of the experiment is a long hose, many have such in the country. But it is better, of course, to purchase another one - do not let it take its course (excuse the pun) by watering the summer cottage? We coped with the task quickly - we connected one end to the cold water tap in the kitchen, and dragged the other end around the apartment and threw it into the bath. Knowledgeable forum visitors promised that the circulation of cold water would create a comfortable temperature. I will say right away: in the afternoon it is better to immediately refuse this method of cooling. First, by shutting off the water, you actually paralyze the work in the kitchen. Secondly, the hose lying on the floor makes it very difficult to walk. All the household members stumbled over him, and more than once. With the words "damn it!", "I saw your experiment ..." and other free variations on this theme, someone now and then stretched on the floor. I had to stop the experiment early.

For two hours of operation of the ingenious air conditioner, the air temperature in the rooms that lay in the path of the hose decreased by 3 degrees. What can not be said about the indicators of another, no less significant measuring device - the water meter has fulfilled its weekly norm.

Method four. I'll freeze everyone!

No tricky devices - just a regular flower sprayer and cold water. The sprayer was found on the windowsill among numerous flower pots - I didn’t even think that we had so many flowers. You collect water to the eyeballs and puff around the perimeter of the room.

It took no more than two minutes to spray one room. But then for about half an hour there is a water curtain in the air. It's +35 outside, and the apartment is pleasantly cool. Beauty!

Needless to say, that the opportunity to “legally” splash water was received by the children with a bang? Of course, they swore that they would only puff into the air ... But after five minutes, with joyful squeals, they began to shoot each other.

And only grandmother walked around with a gloomy look all day. Well, firstly, solving a crossword puzzle (as, indeed, watching TV, relaxing ...) on a couch that does not dry out is not very pleasant. Secondly, in fairness, it must be said that not only the sofa was wet, but also the wallpaper, the wardrobe, the glass doors in the sideboard and all the clothes carelessly forgotten on the surface. It is good that the carpet was rolled up at the very beginning of the experiment.

There are only two downsides to this method. First - the procedure must be repeated every 40 minutes, and this - if you are not a housewife - is almost impossible. And the second - on average, about four liters of water are spent per day per room (at the rate of half a liter per room, about eight times a day from 10 am to 7 pm). For owners of water meters, a tangible increase in utility bills.

Method five. Bath for a cat

I'll tell you a secret, I spied this method on our cat Timofey. When the air temperature in the apartment becomes incompatible with the comfortable existence of the cat, he moves to the bathroom. He sits under the sink or in the bath itself and blissfully. And if cold water also flows from the tap, Timka's happiness knows no bounds. Why are we worse than cats? Let me get a full bath of ice water, I decided. But after all, you won’t sit next to the bathroom all day - you opened the door so that the coolness would flow through the rooms, and went to the store.

Did I feel like I was in a heavenly oasis when I returned? No. Moisture filled the air except perhaps in the hallway, where, in fact, the bathroom door went out. The temperature dropped from 28 to 25. The freshness did not reach the living room - the nearest room. In the kitchen, as before, there is a steam room - direct sunlight and pudding in the oven.

And only one member of our family seemed to be really well. Timothy, like an Antarctic penguin, floundered in the icy water, making blissful sounds. Well, now let him just try to protest the next time it's time to wash.

Well, let's summarize: with a waste of water from 200 to 400 liters (depending on the volume of the bath), we get a chilled bathroom and, at best, a corridor. So if you don’t have a cat and you didn’t plan to move to the bathroom for the summer, it’s better to look for another way.

Method six. hello neighbors

Another way to save water is probably the most harmless for owners of water meters. My labor costs were minimal: I filled a large bucket to the brim with cold water and put it by the bed for the night. When we went to bed, it was +24 in the room, three hours later, when I got up it was already 21. But I would not attribute this to my home-made air conditioner - after all, the temperature outside also dropped. But how good it is - without getting out of bed, put your hands in a bucket, moisten your face and neck with cold water. In general, some pluses. If not for one minus. When I woke up in the morning, I completely forgot about the bucket of water and ... for the next thirty minutes I crawled almost 10 liters of water from the floor.

Method seven. Ghost: wild but cute

This is the only method out of all of the above that I have used before. Humidified the air in the bedroom when the asthmatic child had an aggravation. The preparatory work took only ten minutes - there was not enough room for two sheets in the room. I replaced one with a large terry towel. She soaked both the sheet and the towel in cold water. The main thing here is to squeeze things out well, otherwise turn the room into a pond. True, it was not possible to hang them up right away - the boys immediately snatched them up and began to play ghosts. Well, they cooled down at the same time.

During the day, in the heat of the day, wet sheets were of little use - the temperature in the room did not drop at all, and breathing became only a little easier. But at night, when the children suffered from stuffiness and could not fall asleep, damp linens hung next to the beds really helped. The boys passed out in just five minutes.

Instead of an afterword

Well, we honestly tried all the ways. And how to escape from the heat, decide for yourself. But in any case, do not forget about a few simple rules that will help you keep cool in the apartment:

Ventilate the apartment, if possible, only during the day - in the morning and in the evening you risk letting in not only coolness, but also all the dirt from the street;

Do not dry clothes in the apartment or on the balcony;

Do not use a humidifier in hot weather.

And may the weather be good in your house!

TO THIS TOPIC

According to nutritionists, you can cool off with the help of spicy dishes. Spices such as hot chili peppers increase blood circulation - you sweat and lose heat. Other foods that improve circulation include onions and garlic, dark chocolate, citrus fruits, olive oil, nuts and seeds.

ON A NOTE

My house is my bath?

The comfortable temperature in the house largely depends on the building material. Most of all, the inhabitants of brick houses were lucky. The brick has a large thermal inertia, that is, it gains heat rather slowly. But concrete, on the contrary, has low heat resistance. It warms up quickly, but does not give back heat. Therefore, if you do not take measures to cool such a dwelling, get a home steam room.

In new monolithic houses, summer is also not easy, here a modern house ventilation system comes to the aid of residents. True, she, too, can present an unpleasant surprise. For example, during extreme heat, it can begin to pull in the opposite direction, that is, at 23 degrees in the apartment and 38 on the street, hot air will be drawn into the house. According to the laws of nature, air moves from an area of high pressure to an area of low pressure.

Well, it's no secret to anyone what affects the atmosphere in the apartment and its size and orientation of the windows. It will be much cooler in a spacious apartment with high ceilings and windows turned to the east than in a cramped one-room apartment with low ceilings and windows to the south.

Summer heat can cause serious harm to your health. Hot walls additionally heat the air that comes from the open windows, and the use provokes the development of colds.

However, you can still get rid of the heat in a city apartment. Try one of the following:

1. Take a cool shower about every 3-4 hours. You can get heatstroke without going outside - if you live in a panel house on one of the upper floors. Water treatments will help you cool down.
2. Drink at least 2.5-3 liters of water per day. Just not soda and low-alcohol drinks. The sugar content in carbonated drinks is so high that it is impossible to quench your thirst with lemonade. And the use of alcohol in the heat can cause irreparable harm to the body. Your choice is still water, green tea and herbal preparations, which are also incredibly useful for.
3. Pick the "right" curtains. Heavy curtains of dark tones made of velvet and artificial materials will not help you beat the stuffiness. Choose natural linen curtains in light colors - beige, white, yellow or orange.
4. Purchase a special reflective film from the store. Stick it on those windows in the apartment that are on the sunny side.
5. Arrange plates of ice or basins and bottles of cold water in a stuffy room. If the house has a fan, place plates near it - this will reduce the temperature in the room much faster. If you want to keep the effect for the longest possible time - fill the basins with ice, crushed with a blender.
6. Buy a humidifier. Air conditioners and fans can cause colds, rheumatism and sciatica. The humidifier works on a different principle, but it also helps to cope with the heat.

You can save yourself from the heat outside the city, so on weekends you should go to nature.

In winter, we cry for the summer, when summer comes, we ask the universe to return us to the winter cold. Moreover, more and more cases of abnormally hot summers are repeated.

Instruction

Air conditioner. This is a classic of the genre. The most effective and common way to escape from the heat. But keep in mind that air conditioners dry the air very much, and dry air is harmful to the human body, especially children. And yet, there are a lot of cases when a person catches a cold in abnormal heat. Just because he was in a room where the air conditioner was running at full capacity. Be careful with this.

Fan. Of course, it is not as effective protection against heat as air conditioning, but there is one little secret. It is necessary to put several bottles of water under its air flow, which have been in the freezer for 5-6 hours. Then, the air that hits you will be cold.

A cold shower in the heat is a very useful procedure. But don't get up abruptly under a cold shower if you've never done it before. You can start with cold foot baths - it instantly cools, relieves tension and fatigue.

Hike in the forest for mushrooms. In the forest, as a rule, it is much cooler than in the city. We combine pleasant with useful - what could be more pleasant.

Bathing in the river. This is a very popular heat protection method. But here it is worth considering a very important point. The sun sticks to a wet body with even greater force. So it is better to swim in a shaded place and immediately hide in the shade when leaving the water.

Leave to rest in a country where it is not so hot. Personally, I was saved from the abnormal heat in 2010, when all of Moscow was shrouded in haze. My husband and I had, we went to Hungary, and it was much cooler there. When I returned to Moscow, I did not believe the stories of my friends until I saw photographs of people wearing masks riding the metro.

Tip 4: Cool down so you don't burn out: how to survive the heat without air conditioning

A mini-instruction on how to survive in a tough hell if your air conditioner requires expensive repairs, or it simply does not exist.

Finally, summer remembered its obligations and bestowed its warmth at full power. The streets are melting from the scorching heat, and one cannot even dream of a life-giving breeze. You will not especially envy those who are on duty or simply do not have the opportunity to get out into nature.

But comfort and coolness can be created artificially by following a couple of simple tips!

Keep curtains and blinds closed

The advice is as old as the world, but not everyone believes and adheres to it. And it works! You will be surprised, but it is the windows of our apartments that let in 30% of the heat. Curtain them tightly and it will immediately become much cooler. Especially the recommendation will save from the heat of the room, whose windows face the sunny side.

Ceiling fan switch to summer mode

Not many people know, but the ceiling cooling system has two modes for warm and cold seasons. So, when the mechanism turns counterclockwise, the fan gives the desired coolness. The reverse movement of the blades ensures the circulation of warm air, which is necessary in the winter jelly.

We cool the person, not the room

It is not enough just to cool the room - we will still be uncomfortable. Even our ancestors knew that a cool, plentiful drink and a moistened cloth at the wrists and head gives coolness no worse than split-systems and fans.

We turn on the hood in the kitchen and in the bathroom at full power

All windows open at night

It is known even to the schoolboy that by the evening it becomes much cooler. Sometimes the air temperature in the apartment and on the street can vary by tens of degrees. Don't miss the chance to infuse your home with cool air, and before dawn, apply in combination with the first tip.

Do not keep electrical equipment turned on unnecessarily

Have you tried holding a hot light bulb in your hands? And you don’t need to, just believe that it is not just warm, but boiling water! And any electrical appliance or light that you forgot to turn off not only increases your utility costs, but also heats the apartment! Energy-saving sources are not included here, which cannot be said about electrical appliances.

Prepare for the heat in advance

If summer heat is a familiar occurrence for you, prepare in advance. It is not necessary to install an air conditioning system on every corner, but you still have to spend money on reflective films or a fan.

Summer brings not only the enjoyment of the sun, swimming, fruit and relaxation. Many people suffer from the sweltering heat in the summer. High temperatures and stuffiness cause not only discomfort, but can lead to serious health problems. Elderly people, children, as well as citizens who are overweight, have diabetes, diseases of the cardiovascular system, etc. are especially affected by the heat. There are simple and harmless ways to cool the body.

One of the ways to save from the heat - cool your wrists. You need to hold your hands in cold water for 10 seconds. The body temperature will drop, within an hour you will feel comfortable.

Yoga has breathing exercise- Sitali Pranayama. It is necessary to roll the tongue into a tube, inhale through the mouth, and exhale through the nose. Such breathing is cooling. The exercise should be repeated 3-5 times a day.

To cope with edema and normalize blood circulation and heart rate will help nettle decoction.

In hot weather, the body loses a lot of fluid, which leads to thickening of the blood, gluing of red blood cells. As a result, cells receive less oxygen than they need. For blood thinning you need to drink cranberry juice. In addition to cranberries, blueberries, strawberries, currants are suitable. Onions, garlic, olive oil, lemon, beets, as well as foods (fish, seafood) will help make the blood more liquid.

To compensate for the loss of fluid in the body during the heat, it is necessary drink plenty of water(at least three liters per day). Mineral water will not only save you from the heat, but also normalize the water-salt balance. Cooling will occur through perspiration.
