Highscreen Power Four review. Compact and long-lasting Android smartphone

With active use, modern smartphones even "do not live" until the evening. Manufacturers are chasing crazy performance and thinning the smartphone, which inevitably leads to disastrous results for the user, literally forcing them to live near a power outlet. But our today's hero is a compact smartphone with a record autonomy, which 99.9% of modern smartphones will envy.

Highscreen has released a novelty - an inexpensive Power Four smartphone with compact dimensions, a 4.5-inch screen, support for LTE networks and a 4000 mAh battery. The device is primarily interesting for its battery, but first things first.

Highscreen Power Four specifications:
OS: Android 5.1 Lollipop
Processor: 4-core, MediaTek MT6735M, 1 GHz
Video processor: Mali-T720
Display: 4.5 "480x854 IPS, OGS
Number of SIM-cards: 2 (microSIM)
Battery: Li-Ion 4000 mAh, removable
Networks: GSM / GPRS / EDGE (850/900/1800/1900 MHz);
3G / HSPA + (900/2100 MHz);
LTE FDD (3/7/8/20)
Main camera: 5.0 MP, AF, flash
Front camera: 2.0 MP
Permanent memory size: 16 GB
RAM size: 1 GB
Expansion slot: microSD (compatible with SDHC)
Modules: Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS
Dimensions: 134x66.2x11.2 mm
Weight: 156g

The package bundle is quite interesting. The manufacturer has equipped the smartphone with a wired headset, a USB-OTG adapter for connecting storage media or other devices to the smartphone, as well as a high-quality matte silicone case.

The side faces of the smartphone are painted in metal, but there is no metal here. The body of the smartphone is entirely made of plastic. It might be even better. Because the weight of the smartphone is already not small, and with a metal case it will no longer be comfortable.

At the top there is a headphone jack, on the right there are volume control and on / off buttons, and on the bottom there is a MicroUSB connector.

The display is protected by Asahi Glass Dragontrail (similar to Gorilla Glass), which is very resistant to external influences. The display itself practically merges with the bezel into a single black color, which makes it very attractive. The sub-screen touch buttons are not backlit and in the dark it is not always convenient to use them.

The display itself is built using IPS-OGS technology and has a diagonal of 4.5 inches with a modest resolution by today's standards - only 480 x 854 pixels. Contrary to expectations, there is no pixelation. The PPI parameter (number of pixels per inch) is 220 units. The brightness is more than enough. At night, in order not to be "blind", the very minimum brightness will be enough. The rest of the time, 30-40% brightness will be more than sufficient for comfortable work.

The Power Four is powered by the MediaTek MT6735M platform, a budget 64-bit processor with LTE (Cat4) support. The chip configuration includes four 1 GHz Cortex-A53 processor cores and Mali T720 graphics.
In the Antutu Benchmark test, the smartphone scored 21,071 virtual parrots, which is not bad, and given the low resolution, it will not be difficult for a smartphone to cope with 3D games.

The smartphone has enough performance to handle modern games with dignity. We tested two dozen games and the only game where we noticed problems was Death Rally. For some reason, instead of characters, there are only white squares and emptiness in it. Because everything else works correctly, then we conclude that the point is in the game itself, and not the smartphone.

Under the back cover there are 2 microSIM card slots and a microSD card slot. The smartphone reads cards with a capacity of 64 GB, although they must first be formatted with special utilities in the FAT32 file system.

There is a sticker under the battery with the designation SIM1-LTE, SIM2-GSM, which can be misleading. In fact, through the settings menu, you can switch the data transfer to any of the SIM cards. At the same time, the LTE mode switches.
The smartphone works with all Russian and world frequencies of 2G cellular networks, WCDMA-900, WCDMA-PCS-1900 and WCDMA-IMT-2000 frequencies are supported, as well as LTE networks - Band 1, 3, 7, 20 and 40.

The turn of the most interesting has come - the battery! The manufacturer did not save money and equipped the smartphone with a high-quality battery with an impressive capacity of 4000mAh. At the same time, the body of the smartphone is quite compact, and the beveled corners neutralize any hints of thickness. The only thing that the battery gives out is the total weight of the smartphone, which is almost 160 grams.
Considering the economical MT6735M platform, the smartphone shows fantastic results. The manufacturer itself claims that the smartphone is capable of working up to a week in active mode and up to 30 days in standby mode. It may be so, but we were interested in tests at maximum load and intensity.

The smartphone is able to work for almost 22 hours in Internet browsing mode via WiFi with illumination set at 36%, while almost 60% of the time the smartphone worked at its maximum frequency - 988 MHz.

Or almost 18 hours of continuous video viewing! Let me remind you that this is all in the mode of the always-on screen and wireless networks.

Are there many smartphones now that can work for almost a day with the screen on? What can we say about autonomy, if you use it not so intensively? - the smartphone will easily last two days in very intensive use mode or 3-4 days of standard use (up to 2-3 hours of the screen on a day).

Moreover, if this does not seem enough, in the settings you can enable various energy saving systems and gain more time with active use. The smartphone is quite capable of competing with e-books.

Cameras, like any other decent device - two. True, they cannot boast of a resolution - only 5 and 2 megapixels. It probably doesn't make sense to describe them, it's better to just look at the sample photos and everyone will make a conclusion for himself.

At its relatively low cost, the smartphone has 1 GB of RAM and 16 GB of built-in memory. They also did not save on memory - it has good speed characteristics. The read / write speed of the RAM is 2866 MB / s, and the speed of the built-in storage varies from 75 to 91 MB / s for reading and a stable 15 MB / s for writing.

Because the smartphone out of the box runs on the Android 5.1 operating system - there are no problems with free space for installing applications that were encountered in Android 4.x. All smartphone memory is used as a whole - both for installing applications and for file storage. Of the 16 GB, only 12 are available to the user. The rest of the space is occupied by the operating system itself.

The only drawback of the operating system is that the manufacturer has preinstalled almost all Google services that are available today. The most sensible solution, for which many would say thanks, is to install only one Google.Play, and the rest of the applications, as needed, will be installed by users themselves.

Navigation
Unfortunately, the smartphone lacks support for the Russian navigation system GLONASS, so the only thing left to determine is the coordinates of the network and GPS / aGPS. Cold start GPS (with disconnected Internet) in cloudy weather takes 5-7 seconds, hot - almost instantly. The smartphone "clings" to all satellites that are in sight.

Minuses
- weak camera
- almost a complete set of pre-installed Google services

pros
- Battery
- excellent autonomy
- GPS and WiFi antennas
- equipment
- fast built-in memory

At the time of writing the review, the Highscreen Power Four smartphone could be purchased at a price of 8,450 rubles. Considering the total characteristics, and most importantly, the capacity of the built-in battery in terms of the cost of a smartphone, this device has virtually no competitors. I would like to believe that the smartphone will become a bestseller and at the same time a lesson to other smartphone manufacturers, teaching them to listen to their users and produce not only thin, but also practical devices with good autonomy, like our today's Power Four.

Smartphones with capacious batteries are appreciated by all users, and the new Russian Highscreen Power Four turned out to be just that. In addition to the long-lasting battery, the buyer of the novelty will receive a fresh version of the Android operating system, support for two SIM-cards and a convenient case.

Specifications and performance

  • Quad-core 1 GHz MediaTek MT6735M CPU;
  • graphic accelerator Mali-T720 MP3;
  • the default Android operating system version 5.1 Lollipop;
  • 1 GB of RAM and 16 GB of internal memory;
  • support for microSDXC memory cards up to 64 GB;
  • support for two SIM;
  • GPS navigation;
  • battery capacity 4000 mAh;
  • weight155 grams.

As you can see, iron is not the most powerful. However, due to this, the device consumes less energy. For everyday tasks (browsing Internet pages, simple arcades, playing video and music), the performance is enough.

Appearance

Highscreen Power Four is a black candy bar with a metal edging around the perimeter.

Everything is done in a classic style: the front camera and speaker grill above the screen, as well as three navigation keys at the bottom.

The rear panel does not stand out with anything special either. Above the lens of the main camera, just below - a flash. Manufacturer's logo in the center and speaker grill at the bottom.

The case is not very large, so it is easy to use with one hand. The physical keys are easy to touch. They work without errors. The device itself is made of matte plastic, pleasant to the touch. The assembly is of high quality; when squeezed, the device does not emit a single sound.

Screen

The 4.5-inch screen is made using IPS technology. The picture quality is good. The surface is completely covered with protective glass. There is no air gap, therefore, the screen glares. The margin of brightness is sufficient for indoor use, but it is much more difficult to use a smartphone outdoors.

The screen resolution is not a strong point: only 480x854 pixels. Pixels are clearly visible. Viewing angles are close to maximum. The sensor has good sensitivity and understands five simultaneous touches.

Camera

The main 5-megapixel camera takes pictures of average quality. The aspect ratio is 4: 3, which is unusual for our time. The camera is equipped with autofocus and flash. Shooting starts with a noticeable delay; saving the image also takes about a second. The flash illuminates objects well at a distance of 1.5-2 meters.

The front camera, although it received a 2-megapixel sensor, only allows communication via Skype, selfies are quite modest.

Outcomes

It turned out to be practical and well tailored. The smartphone is not too big, it works for a long time. Its only weak point is its screen resolution. And given that the Highscreen Power Four can be bought for only 9,500 rubles, it makes no sense to pay attention to minor flaws.

Highscreen Power Four video review

Not so long ago, information appeared on the network about a flash mob in the United States, organized by smartphone users who are dissatisfied with the battery life. They suggested that they dispose of their phone as part of the protest. And in fact, there is such a problem, for all this the race for the number of cores, megapixels, gigabytes, the battery capacity is put on the last plan. While Americans and Europeans are forced to suffer, Russian users have a choice of smartphones with a capacious battery. This is how the new Highscreen Power Four got into the spotlight, and we are pleased to present its first detailed review on the net.

Sales have already started, the average cost at the time of the test release, according to the Yandex.Market service, is 9990 rubles. This smartphone has joined the series, which previously included the Highscreen Power Five. The main difference was the decrease in the screen diagonal, 4.5 inches is now a rarity, and if you add the requirements for the relevance of the filling and a capacious battery, then at the moment this model is out of competition.

Equipment

The Highscreen Power Four is delivered in a light package made of thick cardboard. A schematic image of a smartphone with a description of the main characteristics is applied on the front part.

The package includes: headphones, charger, microUSB cable, OTG adapter (useful for connecting flash drives and charging other smartphones), a set of technical documentation, a warranty card and a silicone case.

The presence of a cover in the kit pleased me, choosing a protective cover is not always easy for non-flagship models.

Appearance

The Highscreen Power Four borrows its design from the older version. It looks strict and laconic. There are two color versions to choose from: black and gray.

Why is a high-capacity battery usually rare? The explanation we see here is one, and it is obvious - this is the thickness of the case and the general design concept. With smartphones in the entry and middle segments, everything is a little simpler, here practicality may come to the fore.

The 4000 mAh battery did not negatively affect the appearance of the Power Four, the case thickness is 11.20 mm. The increased volume is offset by rounded edges. Ease of use has not suffered.

At first, it is even unusual to hold it in your hands, given that the bulk of smartphones now have a screen diagonal of 5 inches and above.

Throw in a pocket, a handbag will not be a problem. By the way, a good alternative for girls who buy outdated iPhones due to the size of the case. Here are the same dimensions, but also an improved filling, and a lower cost.

The side edge of the Highscreen Power Four is stylized like metal; it is slightly different in color from the lid. There is a chrome piping along the top and bottom hem.

There is a small protrusion on the front part that lifts the screen and protects it from minor scratches when placed on a flat surface.

The screen itself is covered with a protective glass, it was not possible to find out the exact marking, it is known that there is no air gap between the matrix and the screen. The arrangement of the elements is traditional: at the bottom there are three touch-sensitive buttons without backlighting, a front camera peephole, a speaker grill, proximity and lighting sensors. Non-glare, fingerprints are easily erased.

Top audio jack, bottom microUSB. Both mechanical keys are on the right side: the volume rocker and the power button. The buttons are accessible with one hand, like all interface elements.

The Highscreen Power Four has a collapsible case. The lid fits snugly and requires little pulling force. Under the cover there are two compartments for micro SIM and a slot for a memory card. The battery is removable, unlike the Power Five.

The camera peephole with a chrome bezel is located in the center, below the LED flash. Below is the slot for the main speaker.

There are no complaints about the build quality and materials. The smartphone looks clearly more expensive than its cost.

Screen

Installed 4.5-inch IPS-matrix. Another difference from the Power Five, which uses AMOLED. Each of them has its own advantage. The Highscreen Power Four's IPS offers maximum viewing angles, natural colors and crisp fonts. The screen resolution is 854x480 pixels, the density is 218 PPI.

The margin of brightness is not high enough to work in direct sunlight. In the conditions of the room, it is enough. Despite the low pixel density by the standards of flagship smartphones, the picture looks smooth, there is no pixelation.

Filling

It is based on 64-bit MediaTek MT6735M, a stripped-down version of MT6735. Under the cover there are four Cortex-A53 cores with a frequency of 1 GHz. For a resolution of 854x480 pixels, its performance level is with a margin. The Mali-T720 is responsible for the graphics. The performance is sufficient for smooth operation of the interface and 3D games. You can play games like World of Tanks Blitz.

Onboard 1 GB of RAM and 16 GB of internal memory. Supports memory cards up to 32 GB.

Connection

The new platform from MediaTek includes LTE support, there are no frequency restrictions. All Russian operators will work with Highscreen Power Four. The connection is stable, no problems with signal reception were found. In addition, there are modules: Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and GPS.

Battery

Despite its compact dimensions, it was possible to fit a 4000 mAh battery inside. For an energy efficient processor and low screen resolution, this capacity is enough for several days of battery life. An active load allows you to work a day without the need for recharging. About 13 hours of high definition video playback.

Camera

Highscreen Power Four has a bundle of 5 and 2 megapixel cameras. The picture quality is good in the daytime. I liked the focusing speed. Several shooting modes are available in the application. Grain appears at night.

Software

The Highscreen Power Four comes preinstalled with Google Android 5.1. Clean build without partner software. The memory for installing applications is not limited.

Control gestures are available in the settings.

All necessary software can be installed from Google Play.

Results for Highscreen Power Four

Highscreen Power Four will be an excellent choice for those looking for a smartphone with a small screen diagonal, LTE support, a fairly high level of performance, a good camera and long battery life. As additional bonuses: nice appearance, support for two SIM-cards, case included, Android 5.1. No glitches or problems were found during testing.

Highscreen Power Four wins the well-deserved Gold Award.

The HIGHSCREEN Power Four is delivered in a blue-white cardboard box. Its overall dimensions are 170x90x55 mm, and its weight is 412 grams.
On the top side there is a printed image of a smartphone without a back cover, there are also data on sensors, display, network, processor, battery, amount of RAM and built-in memory. At the very bottom are the model name and website address.

The model name is duplicated on the back and front sides.

The same thing happens on the left side.

On the right side there is a sticker with several barcodes. The model name and color are printed on the right corner of the sticker. In this case, the HIGHSCREEN Power Four is gray.

The model name is printed on the underside at the top. Below there is an inscription saying that the amount of available memory is less than the declared one, since part of it is used by the device system. Below is a QR code and a barcode.

The box is compact, all technical characteristics are present.

Equipment

The HIGHSCREEN Power Four package includes:
- USB cable - microUSB
- network adapter;
- OTG cable;
- wired headset;
- documentation;
- case.
As always, in addition to the user manual and the warranty card, you can find two leaflets in the documentation. The first one contains a list of social networks where you can find HIGHSCREEN news, and the second shows the correct installation of the flash and SIM card.

For safer transportation, all components are packed in plastic bags.
The package contents of the HIGHSCREEN Power Four are quite extensive, as in the Power Five, with a case included with the Power Four.

Appearance

The HIGHSCREEN Power Four is a monoblock with rounded edges. The entire side surface has a silver edging. The overall dimensions of the device are 134x66.2x11.2 millimeters, and the weight is 156 grams. 20 grams lighter than Power Five.

Almost the entire front part is occupied by a 4.5-inch screen. On the sides, the edging is 4 millimeters, and on the bottom and top - 16 millimeters.

Above is a 2-megapixel front camera, earpiece opening and a light sensor.

At the bottom there are three touch-sensitive buttons highlighted with a silvery outline. Thanks to this solution, the buttons are clearly visible even in low light.

There are no connectors and buttons on the left side.

But on the right side of the HIGHSCREEN Power Four there is a volume control button, as well as a lock / off key. The controls protrude one and a half millimeters above the body, making them easy to find.

At the bottom there is a microUSB connector for charging and synchronizing a smartphone with a computer, next to it is a hole for the earpiece.

At the top there is a 3.5 mm mini-jack for connecting a headset.

The back cover is made of gray matte plastic.

Above is the five-megapixel main rear camera, and below it is an LED flash.

Traditionally, the center has the HIGHSCREEN corporate logo.
At the very bottom is a long speaker hole.

This time, manufacturers have moved away from the usual option of placing a special hole for removing the rear panel, now this role is played by the microUSB slot. The hole in this connector is enough to pick up and remove the cover.
Three slots can be seen under the cover: the first is for a flash card, and the other two are for SIM cards.

This time the battery turned out to be removable, its capacity is 4000 mAh. At the very bottom is the speaker hole.

The design of the HIGHSCREEN Power Four is practically no different from its older model (Power Five), except for the diagonal of the screen and the fact that the battery can now be removed.
The included case is a silicone pad. This overlay is transparent, but slightly darkened. The sides are smooth and the back is matte. The dimensions of a smartphone with a case do not increase much and reach 147x69x12.3 mm.

The buttons are highlighted and easy to find. All cutouts match exactly the connectors and elements.

Screen

The HIGHSCREEN Power Four uses an IPS-matrix screen. The diagonal is 4.5 inches, the resolution is 854x480 pixels. The picture quality is excellent, and the same goes for the viewing angles.

When exposed to sunlight, the picture is darkened, but, nevertheless, the information on the display is visible. The screen supports up to 5 touches at a time.

Interface

HIGHSCREEN Power Four runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop operating system. After the first start-up, the HIGHSCREEN branded splash screen appears on the display, then there are standard operations for choosing a language, registering an account, filling in data for signing applications. The settings can be skipped.

The HIGHSCREEN Power Four comes with two desktops.

And all the applications fit on two menu pages.

The shutter for calling up the quick settings menu looks quite familiar, all the main tools are present.

The settings menu looks as usual, now the settings for applications and the view of available memory are located in the "Advanced settings" tab.

A long touch on the main screen brings up a menu where you can select and set the wallpaper, there are also 5 pages of widgets.

Navigating the HIGHSCREEN Power Five menu is as convenient as possible, there were no difficulties in finding any menu tabs and settings.

Usage

Due to its size, the HIGHSCREEN Power Four fits comfortably in the hand, but is slightly heavy.

The quality of the connection is at a high level, the interlocutor at the other end is perfectly audible. The same call quality is maintained when using the supplied headset.
As expected, there were no problems while surfing the web. Pages open quickly, video and audio files are played without delays.

All games and applications opened without freezing. Like the previous model, the HIGHSCREEN Power Four did not get very hot, which we are already used to notice during gameplay.

The presence of the OTG function makes it possible to charge other devices using the supplied cable. Using OTG, you can also connect flash drives, mice and other peripherals to your smartphone.

Camera

The HIGHSCREEN Power Four is equipped with two cameras. The front one is 2 megapixels and the main one is 5 megapixels. The rear camera has an LED flash. It is a pity that the quality of the cameras is far from being at a high level.

The HIGHSCREEN Power Four is powered by a MediaTek MT6735M quad-core 1000 MHz processor. The video is processed by the Mali-T720 accelerator.
The smartphone has 1 gigabyte of RAM and 16 gigabytes of internal memory.
It is possible to expand the memory using a microSD flash card.

By the way, the old model has a more powerful processor, as well as the amount of RAM (the HIGHSCREEN Power Five used 1.5 gigabytes).

The navigation module works with the GPS system. The first start took just over two minutes.

Checking Wi-Fi near the receiver and at a distance of 7 meters in the next room.

4G network check.

Synthetic tests.

Based on the test results, we can say that the HIGHSCREEN Power Four showed decent results.

Autonomous work

The HIGHSCREEN Power Four is equipped with a 4000 mAh removable lithium polymer battery. A full charge from the AC adapter takes just over 5 hours.

Video playback: 8 hours 30 minutes
Gameplay: 4 hours 30 minutes
Mixed mode: 13 hours

If you use your smartphone exclusively as a phone, then a full charge will be enough for a week.

Conclusion

The HIGHSCREEN Power Four is a great smartphone that will suit absolutely any user. Manufacturers have been able to maintain a balance between performance and battery life. This model is a good continuation of the Power lineup.

Highscreen Power Four smartphone review

Hardly anyone would argue that battery life is the weakest point of modern smartphones. The thinning trend forces the use of small batteries, and more and more powerful filling very quickly depletes the available charge. If a smartphone can work for a day without recharging, then this is considered a good result, and if something remains on the second day, then it is completely excellent. Users are just used to it.

The company is trying to combat this state of affairs. Many models of this brand have batteries more than competitors, you can remember at least a two-battery Boost. And phones with one battery usually last a little longer than the average in the class. - this is a simplified version, which also managed to be remembered for long work. The “four” has a 1000 mAh battery less, but the power consumption is also more modest. How long the phone can live from socket to socket and whether there is something interesting in it besides the battery - we find out in our review.

Specifications

A type: smartphone.

CPU: MediaTek MT6735M 1 GHz, 4 cores.

RAM: 1 GB.

Flash memory: 16 GB.

Operating system: Android 5.1.

Screen: 4.5 inches, 854x480 pixels, IPS.

Number of Sim-cards: 2

Cameras: 5 megapixels and 2 megapixels.

GPS: there is.

LTE: there is.

Bluetooth: there is.

Battery: 4000 mAh.

Dimensions: 134x66.2x11.2 mm.

Weight: 156 grams.

Case, appearance

Outwardly, it does not bear any revelations. The phone cannot be called ugly, but even in a crowd of its own kind it does not stand out in any way - like a postman who can come, but no one will notice, considering it as the norm. The inserts on the side edges were called upon to refresh the "exterior", but they did not succeed very well, only added to the device the luridness. Perhaps the device lacks bright colors, because there are only two options - black and gray, and both are rather gloomy. So - this is a gadget for users who do not have design in the first place.

The dimensions of the phone are adequate for a device with a 4.5-inch screen. The bezels around the display are small, although the thickness has grown due to the battery, but is a reasonable 11.2 mm. In addition, the back cover has bevels that effectively mask the width and allow the phone to fit perfectly in the hand. And you can put such a phone in your pocket without any problems. There is not a single gram of metal in the finish of the case - all the elements are plastic, but this is a typical picture for a budget device. The plastic itself does not seem cheap, besides, it is difficult to find fault with the build quality - nothing creaks or falls off, and the back cover can be removed fairly easily.

Complete set, controls

For a budget phone, the white branded box contains surprisingly many components. In addition to the obligatory charger, you can find a lot of useful things here. Firstly, headset headphones, which, although they will not please music lovers, are quite good by the standards of the complete equipment. Secondly, an OTG cable, which is needed not only to connect USB devices to the phone, but also to use the smartphone as a power bank (the model also has such a function). Thirdly, the silicone case. A simple and unpretentious little thing, the price of which is a few dollars in Chinese online stores. However, how often do you see it in the complete set of phones? For some reason, even flagship manufacturers save on such a necessary element, while the cheap one has it. The case has only one drawback, it does not protect the screen in any way, but if you are not in the habit of carrying your phone in the same pocket with the keys, then it will be enough.

The controls are very simple. There are only three physical buttons, and they are all located on the left side. The functions are traditional - on-off, as well as volume control. The buttons are small, but protrude noticeably from the body, so they are easy to find, even by touch. On the top there is a standard headphone jack, and at the bottom there is a place for Micro-USB. Let's note one more interesting fact, the phone has several speakers, the main one is located on the back cover. To prevent the phone from going numb in the position “on the back”, there are special protrusions that prevent the speaker from pressing against the surface, so that the audibility in any situation remains acceptable. There are some kind of "horns" on the front panel too - so that the screen does not get scratched once again.

Technical features

The filling can hardly be called heroic - although the MediaTek MT6735M processor has four cores, the clock frequency is only 1 GHz. Not so much by today's standards. 1 GB of RAM is also the minimum for a decent phone, except that the Mail-T720 video accelerator is not bad for this price category. But even with the equipment that is minimal in terms of modern parameters, the phone manages to maintain adequate performance. To work in typical applications, this power is enough, and for games, a low screen resolution is a plus. Had the display had more points, the situation would have been sad, and so there was no crime - most toys start confidently, and only the most demanding ones slow down.

The screen resolution is really small. This is perhaps the main parameter that indicates the budget of the phone. Not even enough for HD - only 854x480 pixels. In addition, unlike its older brother, which sets records for autonomy with an AMOLED screen, the "four" is equipped with a more traditional and gluttonous IPS-matrix. The picture quality, however, is difficult to find fault with. Having got used to the "ladder" inevitable with such a pixel density, you note excellent brightness, good viewing angles, as well as a decent oleophobic coating that protects the screen from fingerprints. There is no air gap under the glass, this helps to get rid of glare, the color rendering of the display is close to natural. Actually, resolution is the only screen issue. It would be easier to put up with it if it were not for the fact that some competitors offer a display with a large number of pixels for the same amount.

With this screen, 16 GB of internal memory looks generous. Let the user for their needs only have a little more than 10 GB, but for inexpensive models this is cool, usually in devices of this price group 8 GB. Wide support for wireless connections. In addition to traditional 3G, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, the phone works confidently in LTE networks, and can also be used as a navigator thanks to a GPS antenna.

Finally, the battery, which looks like almost the most important element. Its volume is 4000 mAh, which is about twice the value of most competitors in the same price group. Against their background, the Quartet seems to be the king of autonomy. Videos from YouTube with Wi-Fi turned on play for more than 10 hours - an excellent result. It is almost impossible to discharge the battery during daylight hours, you need not let the phone out of your hands for a second. With an average use of two days, you can definitely not remember about charging, and if you use the phone only for calls, then more. Not to say that this is some kind of fantastic result (especially if we remember about push-button models), but it is quite decent against the background of competitors. "Five" lives more, but there is a 5000 mAh battery, and the screen is more economical.

Night shot example

By the way, unlike the "five", the battery is removable. The back cover is removable, so there are no extra connectors on the case. Next to the battery there are two slots for SIM-cards (micro format), as well as a slot for microSD (if suddenly the built-in memory is not enough).

The resolution of both cameras of the phone is not impressive - 5 and 2 megapixels. Standard applications allow you to adjust many shooting parameters, as well as apply common filters; an LED flash is provided for the front camera. Despite all this, the quality of the resulting images is far from ideal. In the daytime, there are no problems: when the phone shoots at a low ISO, the photos are detailed and without noise, but in the dark the picture deteriorates too much, and this smears the impression. The video is also not without flaws. For some reason, there is a limitation on the resolution for him - the phone does not support Full HD, only ordinary HD, with which it is difficult to claim high quality.

Working with the phone

It comes with version Android 5.1, and, judging by the statements of the developers, an update to the sixth version is being prepared (it is quite possible that when you read this material, it will already appear). Highscreen engineers prefer minimalism, so they offer a phone with a clean operating system, without additional add-ons and software shells that may not be to everyone's liking and that consume the phone's resources. This requires a little time from the user for the initial setup and installation of favorite applications, but saves from many problems in the future.

It is difficult to boast of special features without additional software shells, but the phone does have a couple of features. Firstly, it is an interesting unlocking system, you can configure several different options for waking up the phone, the simplest of which is a double tap. Secondly, I liked the quick activation of the camera. If you “draw” the letter “C” on the screen with your finger, the device will immediately be ready to start shooting, even if it was in standby mode before.

Power saving modes

Power saving modes have also attracted attention. Their appearance is logical: if you position the phone as a long-playing one, then you need to maintain this reputation not only at the hardware level, but also at the software level. There are two saving programs, they can be conventionally called "Normal" and "Extreme". With the first one, however, you won't save much, it makes the screen black and white (unlike AMOLED, this does not greatly reduce the appetites of the IPS matrix) and closes unnecessary applications. Extreme mode is another matter. All multimedia capabilities are cut off, the phone becomes a simple dialer, with a faded screen and no Internet access. Severely, but just such a regime seemed more justified to us. If you find yourself in a difficult situation, then you must first of all preserve the possibility of voice communication, and you can do without other options. The radical mode of energy saving allows doubling the autonomy.

conclusions

The concept of a relatively inexpensive phone with a large battery will surely find its buyer. For many users, autonomy plays a very important role. it cannot be called a long-lived record holder, but its battery is larger than that of an average phone, and this is the main plus. True, you will have to pay for a large battery with other parameters. In the price range of about 10 thousand rubles, you can choose a phone with a higher resolution, or with a better camera, or more beautiful. All the parameters at once, most likely, will not be (in this, we repeat, the price category), but for this there are different models to choose from. will attract pragmatic users who need to stay connected for a long time.
