This standard applies to cones according to GOST 15945 with a taper 7:24 with a designation from 30 to 80 and sets the tolerances of the angles and the shape of the cones from 3 to 7 the degree of accuracy.
The requirements of this standard are mandatory.

Often the buyer, ordering an auxiliary tool for the machine, is convinced that by specifying when ordering "Spindle with SK40 cone", he will surely receive what he wants. When the tool bought is not suitable for the machine, the customer is extremely surprised: "How so, I used to buy a" mandrel of SK40 with a cone 7:24 "and there were no problems, and now I bought" the same "SK40, and he suddenly Not suitable. " Let's try to figure out the situation.
The customer is right at the same time and is wrong. The main problem is in the designation itself. SK letters indicate only the taper of the mandrel shank and are a reduction from the German Steilkel - a steep cone. Under the steep cone, in this case, mandrels are understood with a taper 7:24. Thus, indicating when ordering SK, the customer defines only the type of shank. Other common types of shanks in machine tool is a short horsk horsk cone, Morse Cone MK, modular Systems km and Capto. The number 40 indicates the size of the shank. In this part, the reserve all pointed out correctly. Its error is that in addition to the type and size of the shank, it is necessary to specify the standard for which the shank is made.
In the USSR, there was GOST 25827-83 "Tool shanks with a cone 7:24." Due to the fact that this GOST did not comply with any of the existing international standards, in 1992 he was revised. Many significant changes and additions were made - and it began to fully comply with the standard ISO 7388 / 1-83. New Russian number - GOST R 50071-92, was appropriated. At the same time, the old GOST 1983 was absolutely "lost", as a result of which in 1993 he was once again revised. It was decided to return the old one, usual number GOST 25827, and the Russian GOST R 50071-92 (which was released "instead of GOST 25827-83 and GOST 24644-81 in terms of mandrels with a cone 7:24") canceled. Thus, in Russia today there is only one GOST 25827-93 "Tool shanks with a cone 7:24".
Three versions of shanks are standardized in this guest:
- Shanks for "execution 1" are used for machine tools with manual change tool and correspond to DIN 2080.
- According to "Execution 2" - for machine tools with automatic change tool, comply with ISO 7388 / 1-83 standard, which coincides with DIN 69871.
- According to "Performance 3" (also for automatic tool change), no Western counterparts do not meet: "Tool with shanks for equipment up to 01.01.94".
This is all in our country. What is the situation abroad?
Today in Europe, the most common shanks with the performance of DIN - german standardOn the basis of which the ISO International Standard was created. The Japanese machines are dominated by shanks with the execution of MAS WT (Japanese JIS standard in 6339). Machines with spindles on this standard are becoming more widely distributed in Europe, respectively, the nomenclature of the auxiliary tool with this type of connection is expanding. In America, auxiliary tools are common with CAT / ANSI shanks. Some firms make machines with accession to the spindle of their own design (for example, Mazak). What are the fundamental differences of the specified shanks? The article presents the sketches of some standard shanks and tables with basic sizes.
Most European machines use auxiliary tool according to DIN 69871 (ISO 7388 / 1-83). This standard has three versions:
- the form "A" - without the central hole for the supply of coolant (corresponds to the Russian GOST 25827-93. 2);
- the form "AD" - with the central hole for the supply of coolant through the spindle center;
- the form "B" - with coolant side holes, located on the end of the flange under the capture of the manipulator.
The form "AD" is similar to the form "A", only with a cross-cutting central hole.
The execution of "B" constructively varies from various firms, but functions remain unchanged.
Execution 1 according to GOST 25827-93 (for manual tool change) today fully corresponds to DIN 2080.
Many domestic and western production machines are currently oriented on DIN (ISO), there are less frequent machines with a spindle by MAS W. Most firms producing auxiliary tool (including Russian) offer the full range of both standards.
When buying a machine, it is still better to clarify exactly what kind of spindle execution is offered to the customer. Often, manufacturers of machine tools indicate only the sizes of auxiliary tool without specifying, which standard is made by the spindle. If there is a choice of choice, it is better to choose a machine with such an auxiliary instrument that is already in your company. If the company offers without an alternative to the machine with a spindle type previously not used in your production, it is better to contact the firm offering the appropriate auxiliary tool, and learn how wide the wide range of the tool of this standard is available. Otherwise, you will have long to look for the source of acquisition of the necessary auxiliary instrument.
With all the variety of the considered auxiliary tool, there is a partial interchangeability. All tools of one sizes have the same landing base diameter and approximately the same base length. Most often, the complexity occurs only with the automatic tool change, when the mandrel is taken by a manipulator from the machine store. Instruments different standards have a different shape and size of grooves under the capture of the manipulator, as well as the different distance from the basic spindle plane to the groove axis. With manual shift, such a problem does not occur. Since each standard has its own thrust form for the mandrel clip in the machine spindle, it is necessary to check whether it is possible to use this standard on this machine, or it is necessary to make a special transition traction. It is with the help of transient traction auxiliary tool made by DIN 69871, can be fixed on a spindle machine according to GOST 25897-93. Execution 3. It is also recommended to check the base length of the cone, since it is different standards Also a little different.
