How to insert a blade into a jigsaw. How to use a jigsaw: setting, sawing, maintenance and safety

It is important not only to know how to properly insert the file into the jigsaw, but also to learn how to choose it for your tool. Indeed, for each material it is necessary to select its own version.

When working with different materials, frequent replacement of files is required. There is no universal model that will work equally well with metal and wood.

When replacing a file, it is important to know what and what are you going to change. Even if you only work with wood, then the replacement saw blade may be needed due to wear of the old one or a change in the thickness of the timber.

All saws have their own designations. Those used for woodworking are marked with the abbreviation HCS, and those for metal are marked with HSS.

  1. When choosing a saw to work with a jigsaw, it is worth knowing what material will be processed with it. For soft materials, high carbon steel tools are suitable.
  2. If you want to get a straight cut, you should choose a straight saw with wide teeth.
  3. For cuts in shape, thin models are used.
  4. It is recommended to cut the laminate with special devices that have a reverse slope.
  5. But metal tools, as a rule, are not straight, their teeth are of different sizes.
  6. For steel, it is recommended to use a waveform tool.
  7. For ceramics, files that do not have teeth at all (with carbide spraying) are suitable, but for plastic, medium teeth are needed.
  8. Don't go for short models. According to the rules, the saw should come out of the sawn material.
  9. Do not use a tool with too coarse teeth, this may damage the material.

Saws made of bimetallic material are of the highest quality and most durable. They need replacement less often than other models.

Saw Replacement Instructions

How to replace a file in a jigsaw? Universal way does not exist - instructions will differ depending on the type of attachment... Consider the instructions for each type.

Electric jigsaws with quick-clamping system:

  1. Such a tool is equipped with a special lever that releases the file, so it is not necessary to remove the protective cover.
  2. Pull the lever to open the lock by pushing the stem forward.
  3. Insert the saw shank into the jigsaw and release the lever.
  4. Fix it in the correct position with the adjusting screw.

Electric jigsaws with a lock:

  1. Open the protective casing of the instrument.
  2. Turn the lever on the rod to install the file.
  3. After releasing the lever, slide the file up to the clip.

Jigsaws with a screw system:

  1. Remove the protection (cover).
  2. Loosen the screw with the special hex wrench.
  3. Insert the blade into the special hole, teeth first.
  4. Tighten the mount.
  5. Install protection.

Understand in detail how to install the file correctly. Do not pinch it too tightly, otherwise the cut will turn out to be uneven.

In order for the jigsaw to serve you for a long time, you must follow several recommendations:

  1. Remember to check the instrument settings before starting work.
  2. In order to avoid breaking off the material during work, use special inserts.
  3. Be careful and careful when replacing the saw blade. Do not overtighten the fasteners, but do not leave them too loose.

There are a great variety of jigsaw files. They can vary in length, thickness and tooth shape. Replacing the file yourself is not difficult, the main thing is to know how to do it correctly.

The jigsaw is not a guest, but necessary tool in the House. Working with wooden blanks and parts, metal, plastic, is not the whole list of operations performed by the tool. The jigsaw itself is long-lived, which cannot be said about the cutting equipment. The saw blade wears down over time and needs to be replaced. Another option is to renew the cutting tool when processing different materials.

The tool is a miniature copy of a power saw. The principle of operation, like that of a hand jigsaw, familiar from childhood, is to move the saw in a vertical plane. Difference from analogue, different cutting tool.

One of the critical units is the saw blade fastening mechanism. There are a number of instruments on the market equipped with different retainers:

  • Side thread clamp. Fastening is carried out by means of a screw clamping the shank of the file in the slot of the mechanism. Differs in ease of installation of the saw blade and reliable fixation.
  • Shoe mount. It is used in inexpensive household tools. The threaded tool is positioned in the slot. Fixation is carried out with two screws with an internal hole in the head for a hex key. The main advantage is the ability to work with all types of shanks, of different standard sizes and regardless of the purpose of the saw.
  • Quick-release mechanism. The most convenient of the presented methods. No additional key or fixture required.

The saw blade belongs to consumables, - in the process of work, it becomes blunt, grinded. Deformations are possible due to off-design loads. The main division of the cutting tool, according to the type of material being processed:

  • Wood and products based on it. The cutter is thicker. Tooth size up to 6mm. Wiring within 1mm. Blade length 60 ~ 150mm. Marking with the abbreviation HCS. On the side surface, the inscription "for Wood" or "for Wood" is made.

The increased accuracy is facilitated by a reduction in the size of the tooth to 3 mm, a small spread to the sides. "Clean for Wood" lettering.

  • Metal. They differ from "wooden" files with a length (~ 50mm), small tooth(up to 1 ~ 1.5mm), wave-like wiring. The inscription "metal" or "metal". HSS marking.
  • Plastic. Medium tooth (~ 3mm), small set. “Special for Acrilic” lettering.

Files for ceramics, glass, plasterboard and other materials are produced. They differ in geometric parameters and cutting part - instead of teeth, an abrasive coating is applied. Versatile models that work with wood, metal and plastic are presented. Figured cut carry out with narrow saw blades.

The only structural part that unites the files is the shank, designed to be fixed in the power tool.

Shank types

Initially, there were 5 ~ 6 kinds of saw blade tip on the market. Over time, the most popular ones remained:

  • U-shaped shank. Or, in other words, the American type of fastening. Used for jigsaws developed by North American manufacturers. Geometrically, it owes its name to the arcuate notch at the end of the file. Additional element fixation - hole on the shank.
  • T-shaped (cruciform). European type of fixation. The pioneers are the designers of the German company Bosch. In shape, the end of the file resembles a cross.

Saws with similar shanks are widely available on the market, so there should be no problems with choosing a cutting tool.

The fixation of the saw blade, as mentioned above, is carried out by three types of fixing mechanisms:

Keyless. The name shows the main advantage - quick change of cutting tools. But disadvantages are noted:

  • The mechanism works only with "native", specially developed, types of shank. Other types will not work.
  • There are restrictions on the geometric parameters of the files - in width and thickness.

Mounting procedure:

  • mechanism, - a plastic handle-block (lever), is pulled inside the jigsaw, the stem is released;
  • the file is inserted all the way, with a shank into the slot;
  • the block is released - the saw blade is locked.

ADVICE. From practical experience: saw clamps occur due to abnormal cutting conditions (excessive force applied, curved cuts with a wide blade). Pounding, using pliers and other "brutal" tricks is extra work and the risk of damaging the tool. Easier, neatly disassemble the jigsaw itself and unlock the exposed locking mechanism.

2. Shoe screw fastening. By the way, it should be noted that all types of shanks are suitable for this system. File installation procedure:

  • the fixing screws must be loosened, - the protective casing moves and the threaded elements are unscrewed with a key (two or three turns);
  • a file is installed in the groove (slot), with the cutting part from the jigsaw, in the direction of the cut;
  • screws (located frontally, at the bottom of the tool) are tightened with a hex wrench (must be included in the kit);
  • the cover is returned to its place.

The main disadvantage, which manifests itself immediately or over time, is inaccurate fixation in the direction of cutting. The canvas leads to the side. Another disadvantage is thread stripping due to excessive tightening efforts. The third negative factor is the failure of the support block. Finding it to replace it is almost always impossible, you have to grind it yourself.

3. Side screw fastening (with locks). It occupies an intermediate position in terms of the convenience of changing the file between the block fixation and the quick-clamping mechanism. Stages of work:

  • the side screw is unscrewed;
  • the shank is installed in the opened groove;
  • the canvas is exposed visually and to the touch;
  • the screw is tightened back.

Installation accuracy depends on initial factory assembly. Over time individual elements wear out, play appears, the file starts to walk.

In addition to the main tactical and technical characteristics, the attachment point in the jigsaw is a mechanism that affects the accuracy of cutting the workpiece. Hence, when visually examining the selected tool, you need to take a closer look at the work of the fastening elements:

  • Check for backlash - insert the file and wiggle, there should be no free yaw motion.
  • Switch on the tool and try to determine if there is a runout of the blade. Minimal displacements are difficult to notice, but visible to the eye, indicate a poor-quality assembly.
  • Carry out a control cut (if allowed by the seller). The cut must match the markings - the file follows exactly the cutting path.
  • Certificate reliable fastening, - during the test, the cutting tool remained in place and did not fall out of the locking mechanism.

It will not be difficult to master the method of installing a saw blade into a power tool; it is enough to carefully study the instructions attached to the product. With further use of the jigsaw, carefully monitor the condition of the saw attachment point.

The jigsaw is a hand-held tool for sawing parts from various materials... In a home workshop, it can be useful for working with wood, fiberboard, chipboard, plastic, metal. This individual assistant has a lot of functions that allows you to work in different conditions and in almost any position.

So how do we get this compact saw to do what we want it to do?

Let's take a closer look at it.

Control elements

The ergonomics of the body are subordinated to the convenience of work, all control elements are located in direct accessibility.

Trigger serves to supply electricity to the tool stem.

Locking button allows you to keep the trigger pressed without additional effort.

Marked wheel is established desired speed file movement (stroke frequency).

The frequency of the file (cutting speed) depends on the hardness and density of the material to be used. How softer material, the higher the cutting speed can be. When cutting, for example, fiberboard, the marked wheel can be placed in the extreme right position. But steel is recommended to be cut at the lowest speed.

To facilitate cutting, the jigsaw design provides pendulum regulator with 3 operating modes (0-I-II).

Its principle of operation is to file the material just before the cut itself. The amplitude of this filing is regulated by these modes.

To work with metals, plastics and for shape sawing, the regulator must be in the "0" position, a small amplitude (I) is needed when cutting hard wood, and soft wood can be sawed with a large swing amplitude (II).

Saw blade

The working part of the tool is a removable saw blade with cutting teeth. For different materials it is intended different design of this canvas.

Saws can vary in size and tooth size.

The choice of the blade depends on the mode and method of cutting.

For metal, a file with a length of up to 40 mm with a fine tooth is used and curly cuts are made with the same file. And in order to quickly saw material from wood, you need a large tooth.

Straight long cuts are made with a wide file, so less irregularities are obtained.

The narrow file is designed for cutting along curved lines. The width of the blade of such a saw allows cutting, turning in an angle close to a straight line.

Guide roller

The main element of the jigsaw working unit is the guide support roller.

Its design does not allow the file to change the plane of work, so the cut is smooth. File back side rests on the groove of the roller, which keeps it from oscillating movements.

Base plate

For smooth movement over the surface of the material, a support leg (plate) is provided in the jigsaw design.

With its help, the jigsaw can be set for cutting at the desired angle (up to 45 degrees).

The plate is fixed with two Allen key screws located at the base of the mount. The numbers printed on the plate support will help you set the desired angle of inclination.

To perform the operation for the required installation of the plate, it is necessary to unscrew the screws, move the platform back, tilt it to the required angle, move it forward until it stops and tighten the screws.

We fix the file

To set the file to the working position, you need to slide the protective cover down.

And with the hex wrench, loosen the retaining screws.

Then insert the file into the hole near the support roller and tighten its shank with screws (the file is inserted with the teeth forward).

Tighten evenly with both screws. Then install the cover in its place.

To remove dust and keep the workplace clean, at the back of the jigsaw there is a special pipe for connecting to a vacuum cleaner.

This is done simple connection hose to the branch pipe.

Handling this power tool

Change the blade in time, you cannot make an even cut with a blunt file, and the engine will work with overload.

When working with thin materials, use a sheet of plywood to avoid scoring.

To extend the service life of the saw, it is necessary to ensure that it is wetted with water when cutting metals.

Using low speed when cutting, take frequent breaks, as the engine heats up quickly in this mode.

Use only files that are suitable for the materials.

Perform all manipulations with the working parts of the jigsaw with the tool disconnected from the mains.

Do not allow moisture to get inside the case.

Do not overload the engine during prolonged operation.

Jigsaw - universal tool. He is able to replace a hacksaw, grinder, router and even circular saw... They can handle a wide variety of Construction Materials- wood, metal, ceramics, laminate, glass, drywall, tiles, plastic and many others. However, for the correct functioning of this device, it is important to know how to correctly insert the file into the jigsaw. For each specific case, a specific file or blade is selected.

How to fix the file correctly

Any craftsman is faced with the fact that he has to replace the saw blade. Situations are different: either the canvas is short-lived, or it is necessary to perform various operations.

The simplest way of fastening is to use locks, which can be secured with a key. The best option for such a fastening is a jigsaw with one screw on the side. it reliable way for fixing canvases of any thickness and type.

At the moment, there are many models on sale that attract with their affordable cost, except that the file is pressed by a special block with a slot. To tighten such a block, two frontal screws are provided.

However, during the installation of the canvas, certain difficulties may arise. For example, cutting part it can be inserted into the jigsaw correctly, but it will be clamped unevenly - as a result, a skew will be noticeable during operation. The second situation - the lock can jam when removing the canvas. Another one possible problem- breakage of the screw thread or breakage of the front block (it happens if the file is incorrectly fastened, which during operation will beat against the material being processed).

The most convenient is the jigsaw in which the fastening system is quick-clamping. But in this case, a certain disadvantage is noted, which consists in the fact that the thickness of the clamped webs is strictly limited.

Feature of quick-clamping blade fastening

There are many ways to implement such a clamp. The difference with the "classic cartridges" is that there is no versatility. That is, the file must have the same shank. In addition, there will be backlash. As a rule, this is not particularly important, since you can choose the optimal canvas. If you fix the file between the axes of the electric jigsaw, the backlash will not interfere in any way effective work, since it is usually longitudinal.

The file itself is very easy to insert. It should be noted that a jigsaw with a narrow blade can do quite complex options bends. This is achieved in the following ways:

  • It is best to turn the tool or board in the same direction while sawing.
  • Some jigsaws are equipped with a scroller - a special device that allows you to turn the saw during operation (the position of the tool itself does not matter here).

The scroller on the jigsaw looks like a handle located on top of the body. The blade can be inserted into the tool in four positions. When the blade turns, you need to pay attention to one nuance - the pressure on the blade should only be exerted on the trailing edge, especially during the turning process. If you do not take this point into account, the file can be distorted and deformed after a while, which ultimately will lead to its damage.

In a word, the file is quite easy to put in a jigsaw, and even a novice worker can handle the replacement. However, there are several ways to install the file in electric jigsaw, which depends on the tool itself with which to work.

In this lesson, we will show you the basics of working with a conventional hand-held jigsaw. Of course, a jigsaw can also be electric, but it costs a lot of money, and working on it is already a pursuit of speed, and not a calm, moderate creation of beauty.

For work we need: manual jigsaw, a file, a table stand, a clamp for attaching the table stand, an awl, a pencil, two paper clips, a sheet of tracing paper, a sheet of carbon paper, sandpaper and of course a piece of plywood the right sizes... We will cut out a Christmas tree, in this work, in addition to the cutting technique, we will also master the technique of assembling plywood parts into a three-dimensional shape of a Christmas tree and the easiest way to finish the finished product using ordinary watercolor paint.

Jigsaw: a school of craftsmen

The size of the plywood should correspond to the pattern you have chosen, try to arrange the cut parts more compactly, tighter to each other, since everything that remains after sawing, as a rule, can no longer be used in further work because of its fragility. And so we clean the selected piece of plywood sandpaper, trying to drive it along the fibers, since the transverse scratches will be strongly visible on finished product and it is very difficult to remove them later, and the processed plywood looks velvety and soft.

The sandpaper should be medium grit so that it will scratch the plywood less.

Fix the tracing paper sheet and the drawing with the help of clamps, then copy the drawing onto the tracing paper with a pencil. This operation is necessary in order not to damage the original drawing when transferring it to plywood.

It should be noted right away that for modern level distribution and availability of a copying machine, with large-scale and complex drawings for cutting it is good to use a copy machine and the necessary drawing just needs to be copied onto a blank sheet of paper and from it the drawing is then transferred to plywood. The advantage of this method is also that it is quite easy to enlarge or reduce the drawing selected for work. We put tracing paper with a drawing on plywood and with a pencil, through a carbon copy we transfer it to the front side of it.

Having transferred the entire drawing to plywood, we carefully check whether all the lines of the drawing are clearly visible on the plywood.

At the next stage, it is very important to check the future nodes of the interconnection of the parts of the herringbone. To do this, a piece of plywood of the same thickness that we are using needs to be applied to the drawn groove of the Christmas tree part and make sure that it fits exactly in the drawn borders. If the dimensions of the groove and the thickness of the plywood do not match, the width of the groove is adjusted - it is drawn equal to the thickness of the plywood used. V otherwise when assembling finished parts, they will dangle or simply will not fit into each other. This checks all the grooves in all drawings of the parts.

We take the stand and insert its clamp into the central hole.

We attach the support with a clamp to the edge of the table, windowsill or workbench.

If your file is not inserted into the jigsaw, then we do it in the following sequence. We loosen the lamb of the lower clamp of the jigsaw (after turning the handle down to the working position). Insert the file into the lower clamp.

The direction of the saw teeth should be as shown in figure "b" - this is very important.

Then, having loosened the lamb of the upper clamp, insert the upper end of the saw into it and put the jigsaw on the stand, press it with effort and screw the lamb tightly. The file should be taut. But excessive tension can cause the file to break if curly sawing, the weak tension of the file will also lead to the same. So everything should be in moderation.

The position of the body when cutting should be as shown in the figure.

When cutting with a jigsaw, you need to smoothly move your hand up and down, up and down, observing the position of the saw so that it does not tilt from the vertical position. When cutting in a curved line, turn the plywood rather than the jigsaw while sawing to reduce the chance of the file breaking.

When sawing sharp corners, make the movements of the file in place, gradually turning the plywood.

You should have a free space - a hole in which the file will turn, now continue to cut in the desired direction.

Make free space for turning the file on the part of the plywood that will be thrown away and you will easily get sharp corners.

After the entire contour of the drawing has been cut out, the sawn piece can be freely removed from the plywood.

Now, so as not to break the file, insert it into the cut from which the part began to be cut and smoothly moving the jigsaw up and down, but only pull it out of the plywood with the back of the file.

Saw out the second piece of the Christmas tree in the same way.

Sand the resulting parts with sandpaper.

We now have two herringbone parts ready for assembly.

We put them together in one structure.

Now let's paint the Christmas tree with watercolors or gouache.

All our Christmas tree is ready.

And at the end of the lesson, we will show you the sequence of cutting the inner holes in detail.

Let's say we need to cut out a part of the circle.

In the middle of the part to be removed, pierce a hole with an awl. Do not try to make a hole close to the drawn line, this can cause the plywood to chip, which will be rather ugly.

Having loosened the upper clamp of the jigsaw, and having released the file, we introduce its upper end from the bottom into the punctured hole.

Clamp the file into the upper clamp of the jigsaw and cut out the part of the picture to be removed.

Then we release the file from the upper clamp again. And we repeat this operation with each inner hole of the picture.

The herringbone turned out to be stable and quite strong, for greater stability, the abutting parts of the parts can be coated with some kind of glue that does not leave marks on the tree - this is PVA glue, carpentry or casein.

How to correctly insert a new file into a jigsaw - video

Short description: Many people like to cut with a jigsaw. This love is instilled in school in labor lessons. Products cut with a jigsaw are very beautiful and practical. Sometimes files break, so you need to know how to replace them. The video demonstrates how to correctly insert a new file into a jigsaw. It is necessary to unscrew the screws on both sides with pliers.

How to use a jigsaw: setting, sawing, maintenance and safety

After that, you need to position the file with the teeth outward and insert one edge into the gap between the screw and the jigsaw. Then you need to slightly tighten and repeat all the steps for the other side, after bending the jigsaw so that the file is well tensioned.

How to put a file in a jigsaw

Jigsaw repair and device.

Jigsaws.

How does it work.

High quality jigsaws are built with electronics for constant speed and perfectly balanced motors to minimize vibration. This type of jigsaw works relatively quietly and accurately when using a sharp file.

Rice. 1 Jigsaw device

The simplest jigsaw moves the file straight up and down. Pendulum (or orbital) jigsaws cut faster by moving the saw forward on the up stroke and back on the idle down stroke to clear the kerf. Vertical movement is achieved by a hinge eccentrically mounted on a gear driven by an electric motor. At the same time, a separate vertically moving pin shakes the blade support roller, which in turn shakes the blade.

On most jigsaws, a cooling fan blows air through the air duct to remove sawdust from the saw line. Some models have a sawdust removal function: sawdust from working area are removed using a flexible hose of a household vacuum cleaner connected to the back of the jigsaw.

A single speed jigsaw cuts at a constant speed, but most jigsaws have a stepless speed control to optimize cutting performance. different materials... For such jigsaws, the number of cycles of movement of the saw is regulated by a trigger switch, which is also a switch-regulator.

Maximum efficiency of the jigsaw

Saw blades should be replaced as soon as they become dull, not to mention breakage. Blunt saws and saws badly, and put additional stress on the engine and gearbox.

There are special files for cutting various materials; wood saws come in a variety of tooth configurations: for thinner, faster or cleaner cuts.

When doing the work, be sure to put the file corresponding to it.

From time to time, lubricate the platter roller with a drop of light machine oil.

Rice. 2 Lubricate the platter roller

ELECTRICAL CLEANING

Use a brush to brush away dust with ventilation holes and the sawdust outlet and wipe the entire case. If you will not be using your jigsaw for a while, lightly grease exposed metal parts to prevent corrosion. Be sure to wipe these parts down before using your jigsaw.

Rice. 3 Cleaning the jigsaw

LOBSIK LEAVES TO THE SIDE

Blunt or bent file

Do not hesitate to replace a dull or damaged file.

Rice. 4 Change the file when necessary.

Saw support roller needs adjustment

On some models, the saw blade support roller can be adjusted back and forth so that it only touches the rear edge of the file. Sometimes the roller is attached to the base plate of the jigsaw, and this requires loosening the fasteners and moving forward or backward. Be sure to retighten all fasteners afterwards.

Rice. 5 Adjust the support roller

Incorrect cutting technique

Pressing the jigsaw in the direction of the saw can steer it away from the desired path. Move the tool back and gradually get to the required cutting line with less pushing force.

The short rail can be lengthened by screwing a long hardwood strip onto the rail.

Rice. 6 Extend the guide

JITTING THE RAIL SUPPORT ROLLER

If you forget to lubricate the roller, it may jam. If lubrication does not solve the problem, try replacing the roller. With some jigsaws, this may involve replacing the entire base plate. For other models, you will have to disassemble the case to remove the damaged roller.

  1. Remove the file and place the jigsaw on a table or workbench so that you can separate the two halves of the body. Mark the exact position of parts and wires, being careful not to touch them unnecessarily.

Rice. 7 Disassemble the case carefully

  1. Slide the roller out of its groove and install a new one. Then reassemble the case, ensuring that all components are returned to their original position.

Rice. eight Remove the roller from its recess

SPLITTING WOOD

When the blade cuts wood on its upstroke, it tends to chip off pieces of wood on either side of the cut on the top surface of the workpiece.

Turn the workpiece over so that front side was at the bottom, or place the workpiece between two fiberboard sheets high density.

Some jigsaws come with anti-splitting pads that “wrap around” the saw and hold the wood fibers on either side of the cut. Other jigsaws have a corresponding baseplate gap adjustment to perform the same function.

Rice. nine Adjust the gap of the base plate

WOOD BURNS

If the wood begins to char and smoke when sawing, then the saw is probably dull or deformed by twisting. Install a new file and do not press hard on the jigsaw.

Increasing the pendulum stroke can prevent sawdust from clogging the cut - see the manual for recommendations on the optimal settings for this function.

Rice. ten Try to increase the pendulum stroke

LOBSIK STOPPED SUDDENLY

Cut the cord

This is quite possible if the cord is in front of the jigsaw or is under the workpiece.
The power cord can be connected to the available screw terminals so you can replace it yourself. If the cut cord is long enough, strip the ends to connect. If not, buy a new cord of the same type. All double-insulated instruments are connected with two-core cords.

Rice. eleven Replacing the cord

DOES NOT WORK AT ALL

No power supply

If other devices in the same circuit stop working, check the shield: if there is a blown fuse or a tripped circuit breaker or RCD.

The jigsaw is not plugged in.

Make sure the plug of the jigsaw is plugged into a power outlet and that there is power at the outlet.

Plug fuse blown

Replace the fuse in the plug. If the fuse blows again when the plug is plugged into the socket, have the device checked by a service technician.

Incorrect plug connection

If possible, disassemble the plug and check that the plug is connected correctly.

Break in the cord

If the power cord is connected to the available screw (or simple crimp) terminals, you can test the cord for an open and replace it if necessary. Double-insulated power tools are connected with a two-core wire.

If it is not clear how the cord is connected to the terminals, replace the suspicious cord at the service.

Worked thermal protection

Most power tools are equipped with a thermal overload protector, or thermal overcurrent switch, to protect the motor from overheating. If the air intake vents are blocked, the thermal overload protector can be activated by turning off the power.

Clean the grates and allow the jigsaw to cool - the thermal overload switch will turn on automatically.

If you have been working at a slow speed for a long time, remove the file and run the electric motor at maximum speed for about 3 minutes.

Faulty switch

Switch-regulators have complex wiring and can be connected to circuit boards. Check switches of this type or with soldered contacts and, if necessary, change at a service center.

Rice. 12 Switch replacement

Bad contact

Vibration and heavy duty work can weaken the internal connections of the jigsaw. Check internal wiring for loose contacts.

With other power tools, tinned wire ends can be inserted into the screw terminals. Such contacts are notorious for their ability to wane.

Rice. 13 Check your contacts

Low battery

If the cordless jigsaw does not turn on, try charging the battery.

Do not allow the battery to drain completely, as in some cases this can lead to its complete failure. The battery should be recharged immediately if the speed of the jigsaw has noticeably decreased.

Defective motor

Worn or sticky brushes can impair motor performance.

THE MAIN IS SECURITY

  • Always unplug the jigsaw before changing saws, cleaning or servicing the jigsaw.
  • Make sure the bottom of the workpiece is clear of the saw and ensure that the cord is behind the jigsaw at all times.
  • Keep your fingers away from the cutting line.
  • Turn the jigsaw off and wait for the saw to stop before putting it down.
  • When sawing wood and artificial wood materials use a face shield or exhaust dust and sawdust.
