All about machines for the production of coiled pipes. Plywood laser cutting machine: laser power, equipment price Automatic machines for decorative bending

High-precision processing of wood surfaces for assembly or decorative purposes is carried out only with the help of specialized equipment. Today machines for performing cutting and engraving operations are presented in a wide range. Moreover, these are not only units operating according to the principles of traditional mechanical and thermal effects, but also high-tech laser technology. In addition, manufacturers provide equipment with the latest by software control and management functions that facilitate the operator's tasks. At the same time, a laser cutting machine for wood differs from similar mechanical units in its high cost, so its choice should be approached with greater responsibility.

Where is wood laser cutting machine applied?

Mostly such equipment is used for decorative design wood surfaces. It is achieved through two main operations - cutting and engraving. Different capacities can be used for this, and, accordingly, each machine will provide certain processing possibilities. Machine tools are used by both amateur DIYers and professional operators on production lines. For example, a laser cutting machine for wood is used in the furniture industry for the purpose of applying on surfaces artistic patterns... In this case, the possibility of continuous work is assumed, therefore the machines have high productivity. At home and in small workshops, users are guided by piece production - as a rule, producing original products.

Varieties of machines

The main feature of the separation of this type of machine is the power potential, which is also reflected in the design. Compact devices usually have a power of no more than 80 watts. Such models are suitable for use in small business, in the manufacture of the same one-off designer souvenirs and for amateur work. The middle class represents more efficient installations, the power potential of which can reach 200 watts. Such models can already be used in production lines in small processing factories. wood materials and pieces of furniture. And the most powerful laser machine belongs to the industrial application. Conveyors of large factory enterprises are supplied with such equipment. Again, they are characterized not only by their increased power, but also by their design, which often allows them to be integrated into workshops through building assembly.

Functional

Modern laser machines are distinguished by wide optional capabilities - this is one of the main areas, working on which, developers strive to attract all large quantity clients. In particular, a cooling system has long become a must for professional machine tools. This function is responsible for the timely repayment of the temperature of the working body, which increases the reliability of the installation. The electric drive of the nozzle is also becoming an increasingly common technical element, which is equipped with wood laser cutting machines. The capabilities of models with such equipment are increased due to more accurate positioning and, in general, control of the working component. In more advanced devices, laser focusing is also provided.

Features of CNC models

A separate category is represented by units with the ability to program a workflow, which is implemented in automatic mode. The presence of the system practically relieves the user of performing mechanical operations. However, in some machines, operators can still be entrusted with indirect and auxiliary actions. One way or another, a CNC woodworking laser machine provides ample opportunities in terms of workflow control. Typically, these models are interfaced with computer stations and controllers. This makes it possible to develop tasks for the machine in a graphical computer form without the use of special physical settings for different processing parameters. The technology, based on the programmed program, independently calibrates the working bodies for specific tasks.

How to make a DIY wood laser machine?

You can independently make a compact device that, in a small area, will function as an automated engraver. This will require materials for the instrument body, a controller, work equipment to move the laser device, and auxiliary systems for power and cooling. The complexity of this task is due to the fact that it is impossible to purchase a wide range of components on the conventional radio market. For example, the programmable controller with cutters is most often purchased from Chinese online stores. In practice, it is possible to make a laser machine for wood carving only if you have the appropriate knowledge of electronics - at least you should have a connection diagram for components on your hands. However, this will not cause difficulty if you set the goal of making a modest power hand engraver without automatic positioning system.

Machine operation

Work begins with connecting the equipment to a power source and preparing the material. Depending on the type of machine, the machining process will be controlled either automatically or manually. In the first case, the initial download of the final model in computer form will be required. Also, devices of this type often provide for mechanical adjustment of the equipment for the specific characteristics of the operation. Without automation, the wood laser cutting machine is manually controlled. Also, the initial parameters of the workflow are set, after which direct cutting or engraving is performed.

Conclusion

Finding a truly high quality and reliable laser machine on the market is not easy. Mostly Chinese manufacturers are represented in the segment, many of whom assemble equipment in artisanal conditions. And this is not to mention the rather average quality of the components themselves. But there is also conscientious companies, in the families of which you can find quite a worthy laser cutting machine for wood for any need. Such models, in particular, are produced by the firms Wattsan micro, KAMACH and RABBIT. Another thing is that the cost of these products is high. Even devices that are small in size and modest in power cost at least 100 thousand rubles.

Hot stamping technology is used to obtain volumetric decorative images on flat and shaped surfaces of furniture boards made of solid wood, MDF, plywood or veneer. To implement this method on a baguette, molding or frames on furniture production use a machine for embossing wood.

Technology features

Compared to milling, embossing makes it faster and easier to reproduce imitation for carving, blanks with a braided pattern, pigtail or volumetric texture of expensive woods on panels from cheaper ones.

Hot pressing is more like thermoforming of wood. Under the influence of temperature, natural polymers contained in wood become soft and elastic.

How the wood hot stamping machine works

The relief is knurled on embossing machines. A heated roller with an engraved pattern is rolled over the surface of the workpiece and applies a relief image. The pattern can be applied to flat surfaces and radius elements.

Design features

  • Main element- embossing unit for flat and radius blanks. The hot embossed roller is mounted on the machine support spindle.
  • The shaft is heated by electrical resistance or gas burners... The roller is placed in a closed casing and fixed on the supporting column. A thermostat and a temperature sensor are designed to maintain a constant temperature.
  • The water-type cooling system ensures safe operation without bearing seizure due to overheating during long-term use.
  • The efficiency of the pattern is emphasized by the finish. After applying paintwork and patina, the drawing decorates profiles and baguettes very beautifully, giving them sophistication and originality.

Make machines for cold forging can be from scrap materials.

Since universal fixtures from manufacturers have a fairly high cost, a self-made machine for cold forging of metal will be an excellent solution for people involved in the manufacture of forged products.

Today metal constructions with unique design and brave architectural forms used for the arrangement of houses in cottage settlements.

Curved forged elements gates, fences and gates bring an unusual image to landscape design estates.

On the proposed photos you can see how unusual artistic view create metal structures.

What parts can be made on a cold forging machine

Cold forging, as opposed to hot technology, simple and safe. This process does not require the use of hot metal and precise adherence to the operating temperature.

You can make a do-it-yourself cold forging machine specifically for the manufacture of a certain type of parts.

Also, a homemade machine will allow you to solve a wide variety of tasks, so it will be just universal.

By using homemade machine it will be possible to achieve the ideal geometry of metal elements for an individual design idea and to make original details with a pattern on your own.

In the process of cold decorative forging, as a rule, soft metal is used - it can be nickel and magnesium alloys, steel, copper or brass.

The rest of the range of products produced on the machine will be limited only by the imagination and the ability of the master.

If you wish, you can make openwork elements for stairs, gates and fences with your own hands.

The use of decorative details will allow you to decorate fireplaces and barbecues, beautifully decorate the outer walls of the house and a gazebo, make original tripods for flowers, as in the photo.

Types of equipment for cold forging

Existing types of machine tools can be operated with the participation electric motor or manual force.

The first version of the device makes it possible to perform work faster than manual ones, but at the same time requires certain skills from the master.

Forging machines for forging are divided into types:

  • snail - a machine with separate removable parts or solid-cast - it is used when making spiral separate parts;
  • universal device - used for cutting, riveting and adding volume to the product;
  • gnutik - with its help you can make arc bending of metal or bending of parts at a certain angle;
  • a device for the formation of rings;
  • twister - allows you to bend the product along the axis;
  • press - for the formation of a matrix print on the product;
  • wave - to obtain undulating elements from metal rods.

Manufacturing of the snail machine

Using the following list of tools and metal parts, you can assemble a one-piece volute machine.

For work you will need:

  • metal rods;
  • sheets and strips of steel;
  • shaped steel pipe;
  • welding, pliers, grinder.

Drawings and step by step diagram, as well as watching a thematic video, will allow you to get a high-quality device with the necessary parameters:

  • Using a piece of paper, paint a three-turn spiral onto it. Next, check the dimensions so that as a result, a reinforced rod with a diameter of 10 mm fits into the thread;
  • Using a grinder, cut out steel sheet two plates. The first should have parameters 100x100 mm, the second 130x130 mm;
  • Take a 3 cm rod and three steel strips. The edges of the sections of all used parts must be sanded to get rid of burrs;
  • Use pliers to bend the steel strips according to the template, as a result you will have three spiral parts with different lengths;
  • With the help of welding, all elements of the machine are welded according to the scheme, welding works it is recommended to carry out it with high quality, since it is on them that the service life of the tool will depend;
  • The steel pipe is welded last from the bottom in the center of the machine.

As a result of the work carried out, equipment for cold forging of metal should be obtained, as in the photo.

If, when decorating any interior elements with cutting shaped pipes no one experiences difficulties, then, if necessary, perform their bending, on the contrary, everything becomes more complicated.

Qualitatively and quickly, such work will be carried out by a special bending machines for pipes that you can do yourself in advance.

Drawings for the manufacture of this type of equipment can be used differently, depending on what materials will be used in the work.

At first glance, assembling a production-type machine for cold metal forging, as in the photo, is difficult.

But if the master, working with metal, has already gained experience, nothing is impossible for him. The main thing is to choose a solid, stable foundation for the future structure.

For example, it can be a massive metal table made on the basis of pipes or a profile.

Since the bending of the metal will occur due to the shafts present in the structure, it is necessary to select three such elements.

Each of them is a metal cylinder with thick walls and an axis of rotation. Two cylinders are fixed slightly above the table, and the third, the central one, is placed above them.

The distance of the two extreme cylinders determines the angle at which the pipe will be bent.

In order to be able to change the position of the cylinders, if necessary, it is necessary to make additions in the design drawings in the form of stoppers and rollers, which will make this part adjustable.

After the cylinders are fixed, it is necessary to organize a rotation transmission system for them.

For this purpose, they use a chain mechanism from an old car, which can be found on the aftermarket.

It is better if the mechanism is equipped with gears, if not, then they will have to be bought separately.

The gears are mounted on the two outer cylinders and the tensioner, placed below the shafts, in the center. Then one of the outer cylinders is equipped with a handle in order to create a rotating force.

The machine for cold forging metal products is ready. The following video will help to supplement the above material with details.

How to make a torsion bar

A machine for cold forging of torsion-type products is used to twist metal spirals in the form of a snake.

It is difficult to work manually with such a device, therefore, most often, drawings with electrical options machine tools.

In order to properly assemble the torsion bar, we suggest watching the video and familiarizing yourself with the guide below.

Tools and materials for the assembly of the machine:

  • steel sheet;
  • I-beam;
  • vice and fasteners;
  • gearbox, electric motor, chain;
  • Bulgarian;
  • welding.

Flow chart:

  • The basis will be an I-beam, to one side of which a steel sheet must be welded;
  • Then a vice is attached to the steel, welded and fixed with bolts and nuts;
  • So that when pulling metal product did not jump out of the machine, plates are attached to the vice from below and from above;
  • The other side of the I-beam is equipped with rollers, on which the platform is subsequently mounted;
  • Other vices with movable main elements are attached to the surface of the resulting structure. In this case, both structures located at the edges of the I-beam must be located at the same level;
  • Further, the structure is equipped with a steel handle made of a rod; due to its rotation, the product will bend;
  • Using bolts, connect the reduction gear and the engine. The wheel rim is equipped with a chain;
  • The structure is closed with a steel casing.

As a result of the actions carried out, a machine with two blocks is obtained - a movable and a stationary one.

To get a beautiful decorative lattice on the window, or for the fence or balustrade of the balcony, you need equipment for cold artistic metal bending. Let's figure out what these devices are.

1 Why do you need to bend rolled metal, and what is the best way to do it?

For the manufacture of canopy brackets over windows and doors, as well as for hanging wall lamps and CCTV cameras, figured elements made of steel strips, as well as from a bar or reinforcement are often used. Such parts can be ordered at the forge or at the factory where the rolling bending machines are installed. Or, as an option, you can make a mechanical tool for making metal ornamental elements with your own hands.

It is also important to know the principle of operation of automatic devices that can be purchased for setting up the mass production of figured parts.

The variety of artistic elements is small, but each option requires a separate operation. There are such form factors as a strip or a bar with a spiral bend, a bar with torsion around the longitudinal axis, an element with a bend along a certain radius (up to the ring) or a wave, as well as at an angle. Also, to give the structures volume, bending along a large radius is often used. There are very few universal light-class machines with low and medium productivity, more often there are models that combine a complex for 2-3 types of bending.

2 Automatic machines for decorative bending

Equipment for the production of decorative forms from steel strip, bar or reinforcement (as well as from pipes) can be mechanical, flywheel-based, electromechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic. The first will be a machine for the simplest operation - metal rolling. Yes, it is on this technology that the method of obtaining a bend of a small radius is based, that is, 3 rollers are used for the arc. However, the domestic machine "D 2 S" is multifunctional, that is, you can install a nozzle with your own hands for winding a "snail".

This equipment is considered to be quite simple as it does not need to be included in the production line. Instead of a driving, horizontally oriented shaft, a special template is used as a nozzle, which is inserted into a chuck on a spindle. The workpiece is inserted into the clamp, after which the machine turns the shaft to the required angle, which is set by the simplest programming on the control panel. The maximum product diameter cannot exceed 20 millimeters.

To obtain multi-turn snails, several turns of the spindle can be made with a phased replacement of nozzles, or using a prefabricated sectional template. The machine for cold artistic metal bending "Decor 1", which has a horizontal working surface with vertical spindles located on it, also works similarly. Rolls of various diameters or special "snail" templates can be inserted into the drive chuck. The equipment is equipped with a CNC control panel. Both devices start automatically and manually. The next machine can be called their budget option.

The device for cold forging "Azhur 1M" is designed to start and stop the spindle with your own hands. With a power of 3 kW and a small size (less than a meter on either side and 1.2 meters in height), this unit can be installed even in a home workshop. Performance - from 400 pieces of "foot", "snail" and "volute", "basket" and "torsion" types on complementary modules.

Foreign samples of such equipment are also produced. In particular, UNV3 is intended for curling workpieces into "snails" and "volutes", as well as for longitudinal twisting of a bar with a square cross-section. The production of a "basket" is also envisaged. However, it requires the work of an exclusively trained operator, because, otherwise, you will have to use manual start of the machine, due to which most of the functions of expensive equipment will not be involved.

The same can be said for less universal option V2-16 with a power of 1.5 kW, which performs only the operations of curling the "torsion", making "baskets" and making "snails". Both units, with a digital control panel, operate from a foot switch. It should be borne in mind that, regardless of the type of machine used, the material must have the proper degree of toughness and ductility. Consequently, high-carbon steels with significant elasticity are not suitable for this purpose.

3 Manual production of decorative metal elements

In addition to automatic units, today a huge number of mechanical tools are produced for the figured deformation of metal strips and bars with reinforcement. Almost any device of this kind is based on the rotation or rotation of the gate, as well as on the chain link transmission. Moreover, you can use both separate mechanical devices and a complex of several units connected on one bed, the difference between them will be only in cost, while the performance is absolutely the same.

Let's take a look at each tool sequentially for making one or another decorative element from metal. The simplest solution is to manually rotate the collar, that is, without using various gears that facilitate muscular effort. As a rule, here it is possible to simplify the task only due to the maximum possible length of the lever arm. For example, an elementary device: a stand on which a workpiece stop is rigidly fixed, and at some distance from it there is a rotating shaft around which a bar, pipe or metal strip will be bent.

Under the working surface, a freely moving lever is attached to the shaft axis, which has an additional vertical axis on the shoulder, brought out above the stand through an arcuate slot. A second shaft is put on the axis, which will roll the workpiece to the first. Such a tool makes it possible to easily make a "volute" with your own hands. To twist the "torsion" on a long massive base, 2 beds are installed, rigidly fixed - at the end, and movable - in the middle. A shaft is passed through the fixed frame, on which the gate is installed and there is a plate with clamps facing along the base to its opposite end. An eye with bolt clamps is made in the freely moving console, where the workpiece is rigidly fixed.

The other end of the square bar is clamped in the die. Further, the rotation of the gate is attached the right amount turns of the part curled along the longitudinal axis. The same tool allows you to make a basket of several rods with your own hands. Here is another tool for mechanical artistic metal bending. In the center work surface of the device there is an axis on which a prefabricated template for the snail is put on. Sections of the nozzle have beveled ends for a strong joint, as well as convenient fasteners with small holes under the finger joint. When the arcuate parts of the template are closed in the working position, a smooth, smoothly curving spiral structure is obtained.

In the center, above the clamping groove for the workpiece, there is a collar boss, into which the lever handles are screwed. With a small offset from the nozzle put on the axis, there is a long wide slot, oriented from the center. In it, a shaft moves on a spring, which is needed to stop the workpiece against the template when the gate rotates. And finally, the last tool that can be purchased for handheld. It is called very similar to the operation that it performs, namely - gnut. Consists of three square profiles, located close, the two outermost of which are rigidly fixed to the workbench or bed.

The central one moves longitudinally between the extreme ones by turning the lever (rack and pinion). On fixed bases there are driven shafts of the rolling mill, on the central one - a leading one with a gate. Opposite it, closer to the bed, there is a place for a replaceable wedge with a given angle for angular bending of strips with an emphasis on the shafts. To obtain an arc, the workpiece is placed between the driven and drive shafts, by turning the lever, it bends to the desired radius, then the handle rotates to communicate the required bend to the entire workpiece.

4 How to independently make a device for bending bars and profiles?

The described equipment is easy to make on your own, but it is much more efficient to work with an electromechanical machine. Therefore, in addition to the gate, the aforementioned tool can be supplied with your own hands with a chain drive to the axis of the driving spindle from an electric motor.

However, the most effective solution is with a chuck from lathe, in the headstock of which you can fix a workpiece of any shape. For this purpose, you can use a stable workbench, fixing on it, if necessary, a movable console with an eyelet for torsion of the "torsion" or an emphasis for winding the spiral snail onto a nozzle fixed in the cartridge.

To make rings with your own hands, the previously mentioned console with an eyelet, which is located exactly in the center of the cartridge, can be pushed back a certain distance. Then clamp the shaft of the required diameter with the headstock (for convenience, at its ends there may be thinner protrusions for the lug and clamp). Also, a loop or other hook for the workpiece is installed on the shaft, which then, after turning on the electric motor and starting the spindle rotation, begins to twist with a spring around the template. It is also advisable to make an emphasis for the bar with your own hands on the side of the shaft axis. After removal, the workpiece remains to be cut lengthwise to obtain rings according to the number of turns.

Due to its beauty and sophistication, metal products made with the help of forging have long been very popular. Such decorative elements quite expensive and it is not always possible to order all the desired decorations for the interior or Vacation home... But, in addition to the hot type of forging, which is needed in order to create metal decorative designs, there is a cold version of it. The last option can be implemented independently, for this you need to build a machine for cold forging with your own hands, after which you can start implementing all your ideas and ideas.

Varieties of machines

Basically, all devices that are intended for the manufacture of metal parts using cold forging are characterized by a manual drive. Few of them work on the principle of an electric drive, although such a structure can be built with each of the devices. The only question regarding the drive is expediency, because the costs of the energy resource that feeds the unit and the complexity of the installation process of the mechanism may not justify themselves if we correlate them with the amount of work performed and its regularity.

The table shows all the devices that work by means of the drive manual type related to the cold forging process.

Device Short description
Twister With the help of such a device, the metal is twisted, the formation of spirals and curls with a narrow core occurs.
Torsion type machines With the help of such a machine, screw-type rods are twisted, and it is also possible to manufacture large spirals and filaments (baskets, lanterns and bulbs).
Inertial stamping machines Designed to make connecting parts for honey with decorative components, to make patterned tips and various small patterns and reliefs.
Bending machines There are several types of such machines: push, broaching and combined types. The first variety is needed in order to obtain wavy bends or zigzag bends of the rod. The broaching variety is in demand when it is necessary to make a ring, curl or spiral that has a wide core. Using the combined variety, you can build any of the listed elements.

Reference: very often in some sources you can find the name of machines designed for twisting as well as for machines that do winding - twisters. However, this is not entirely true, machines that twist metal are torsion-type machines.

Differences in cold forging

There is such a thing as "stamping", which is sometimes confused with cold forging. The very same cold forging has 2 principles, according to which this process can take place. The table shows the differences between the processes.

Process Description
Stamping The punching process can be described as extrusion certain figures using a punch that works when high level pressure. An example of a stamping process is an aluminum can. Heating of the metal is not used in this case. The opportunity to apply this technology at home is hardly possible, since it is impossible to create the necessary conditions for this.
Cold forging (riveting) This type of cold forging, in fact, is work hardening, namely, a certain number of strokes are carried out in the process. great strength, which allows the structure of the metal to change and become the necessary parameters in size and shape. Such manipulation is carried out using a hammer, which can also be built with your own hands.
Cold forging (bending) Another kind is bending. With this technology, the metal remains the same in structure, without changing its characteristics. This type of forging is possible for home use, you just need to start creating a cold forging machine with your own hands.

Cold forging, which is carried out according to the principle of bending, is quite simple to deal with, especially if there is special equipment stationary type, which greatly facilitates the process. The advantage of this type is that it is possible to assemble almost any cold forging machine with your own hands without high costs for it.

Construction of cold forging machines

Each device for cold forging has its own characteristics and parameters. So that you can easily make a cold forging machine with your own hands, you need to figure out what each of them is.

Machine Device
Bending machines
The design of this device is such that by changing the rollers and wedges, the size of the waves and bends is changed. They can bend rods up to 16 mm. The only caveat of this device is that it cannot be made on its own, because it is required to process and grind many parts of the exact size. The cost of such a device is low.
Twister

The unit works thanks to its equipping with a special template, against which the processed piece of metal is pressed. The pressure must be very high, so those who work on the twister must have sufficient strength for this. In addition, the safety of the template itself is ensured by the presence of a persistent horn (end). As for the middle horn, which is otherwise called outcropping, then it should be done in such a way that it can change its position and be fixed in it. The efficiency of work depends on this, especially for those who start the process for the first time.
Base with spacers Such a unit will allow you to make patterns of absolutely any variation. The design itself is very simple and is a plate made of strong and reliable material, into which spacers are screwed at a certain distance. For such purposes, bolts with sizes from m8 to m24 can be used. In this case, the thickness of the metal depends only on the skill of the person who works on the machine. Basically, such a device is well suited for metal with a thickness of 6 mm.
Snails Twister Machine With collar
Such an installation is a base plate on which a special coil is located. Such a turn is used as a template for a future product. The peculiarity of the machine is that the "snail" -the template is divided into several parts, which are fixed to each other with the help of special connecting elements, which allows the template to vary in shape during operation, which creates various kinds of waves and bends. There are also disadvantages to this design, since in order to make such a machine for cold forging with your own hands, you need to select a very durable material that will not bend over time. Also consider connecting loops that are quite vulnerable, given the magnitude of the force with which the entire process of bending the metal takes place.
Lever type
In this type of "snail" machine, the template is attached very firmly to the base. Due to this fact, its performance is less, however, the reliability is higher. with the help of a special lever, the metal plate is pressed against the template, at the same time in the process it is necessary to move the movable roller. To make such a do-it-yourself cold forging machine, you can use steel material, which is distinguished by its strength, and the roller can be made from a conventional roller bearing. In general, the design is similar to a pipe bender.
Torsion machine

Such a device will help well in screw twisting of the rods. Such a machine is made from a cylindrical base of metal and two fastening and simultaneously twisting elements. It is advisable to equip such a structure with a special pair of paws that will not allow the metal being processed to bend not as needed. The principle of operation on the machine is such that the rod is placed in the elements holding it, it is clamped at one end, and at the other end, with the help of a rotating spindle, it is twisted to the right size helical wave.

Equipped with an electric torsion machine for cold forging

In order to increase not only the efficiency of work on the unit for cold forging, twisting the rods into a helical wave, but also to increase the speed, as well as to ensure stability and not be overworked, an electric type drive can be installed.

Working by hand is quite difficult to make all the decoration elements made of metal rods the same, since the uniformity of the torque in such a situation will vary greatly. In order to avoid mistakes in the manufacture of products, you can use:

  • a semi-axle from the car, which is installed on the driving axle;
  • you will also need a differential gear pair;
  • for protection it is worth using a casing.

From the listed devices, you can build electric drive to the torsion bar. Such an engine is better so that it does not exceed the power indicators of 900 rpm and 3 kW.

Building a curl for the machine with your own hands

Before you start creating a cold forging machine with your own hands, you need to be able to calculate the parameters of a template spiral, because there are practically no special programs for such purposes. Such a template should not only be literate from the technical side, but also have an attractive look.

The calculation of this template is based on a logarithmic spiral. Some of the construction nuances can be highlighted in the following list:

  • the start of construction is taken at point R0;
  • the turning radius will be equal to the fixed angle;
  • the indicator of the length of such an angle must be multiplied by the divergence of the turn;
  • divergence in standard version basically it is taken equal to 1.2;
  • for simplicity of calculations, as well as maintaining accuracy, the bending angle is best taken at an angle of 45 degrees;
  • if there is a need to build a template that will have a denser spiral, then the 8th part (s) of the unit distance from the spiral should be added to the value of the radius;
  • as for r0, it should be equal in size to the cross-sectional size of the diameter that the workpiece for the spiral possesses.

Important: r0 can take any value, it all depends on what characteristics the metal is used for the workpiece, namely on its density.

Considering all the nuances, you can start making a "snail" -pattern, for this it is best to be able to solve equations that have a cubic degree and higher. There is no exact formula for calculating such a device, but there is one that allows you to achieve the optimal result. The sequence for building a spiral pattern can be as follows:

  • the starting point r0 is primarily determined;
  • the turns that the template will have are taken arbitrarily, their number can be any;
  • using the tabular data, you should calculate the cross-section (b), while making sure that it is smaller in width in the opening for the template;
  • using the formula, the radius R is calculated;
  • the last step is to transfer all the obtained points in accordance with the scale, after which you can proceed directly to the construction. In the process, let's adjust using a similar formula, the radius R in the final version.

Help: if it becomes necessary to calculate intermediate values, then this is done in accordance with the geometric proportion.

Construction of a cold forging machine

When drawing up a drawing for the further creation of a template for the machine, it is best to make sure that it has the maximum number different variations with regards to bends and waves. With such blanks, you can create a cold forging machine with many replaceable nozzles, which will make it possible to make various patterns and monograms.

The sequence of actions when creating a device:

  • Initially, you need a metal sheet, the size of which will depend on the number of patterns placed on it. The templates themselves should be placed in such a way that there is a place for the manufacture of products, because in the process the material from the nozzles can be displaced due to lack of space. Also, if the templates are not far enough from each other, complications may arise in the work.
  • As for the variations of the patterns themselves, they can be either simple or contain more than one twist of the monogram. You can make a similar plow-type snail and think over the design of the bends in a disassembled and assembled state. At the same time, you should be careful when selecting material for fixing the sliding parts - it should be as strong as possible.
  • The change of nozzles can be provided by making a rectangular slot, it will be possible to insert interchangeable templates for forging into it. They should all be attached to metal plates in the shape of a rectangle. The attachment of such nozzles will be provided with bolts.

Assembling the device
