Precise cutting of the mating corners is best done using a miter box with angles of 35, 45, 60 and 90 degrees. When working, it is convenient to use a special glue gun. A set of flat spatulas will also come in handy, sandpaper and a flute paint brush.

How to glue molding on the wall

It seems that it is easier to paste the wallpaper, and then mount the decorative frame. But this option is impractical, because it is not always possible to determine the right amount of the applied glue, and its excess will obviously spoil the appearance of the wallpaper. Subsequence correct actions will allow you to achieve a good result.

Before installation, you need to withstand the material for a day at room temperature to normalize linear dimensions. The wall should be perfectly flat and primed. On its surface, draw the installation locations of the relief elements. It is more convenient to glue at the beginning corner pieces, and then dock straight lines to them. Gently apply glue to each piece and press firmly. Sometimes massive strips have to be additionally fastened to the wall with self-tapping screws, which can then be removed, and the attachment points must be putty. Wipe off excess glue with a damp cloth and wait until everything is completely dry within 5-6 hours. All seams must be carefully putty, and the molding must be painted in the desired shade. It is better to apply the paint one day after installation, without using formulations with acetone and other active solvents.

Of course, you can also install decorative strips directly on the wallpaper, but the parts glued to the cleaned wall will last longer, and you will not have to change them when changing the wallpaper. Reuse of decorative elements is not possible. However, wallpaper joints are much more difficult to adjust at the place of application.

Using color contrasts

In rooms with walls in dark colors, it is better to use white molding to make the interior look more expressive and cozy. If you are going to paint the embossed overlays, make them a couple of tones higher or lower than the wall color. To paint the elements, you can use the main tone of the walls, then an additional decorating effect is created.
