What is a slope? The device of slopes for windows and their manufacturing technology. What are the best slopes? DIY installation of window slopes video

Internal finishing of plastic windows has not only a decorative function, but also a protective one. The assembly seam must be reliably protected from influences exerted on it in order to window system in general, it functioned correctly: the glass did not fog up or freeze, and condensation did not accumulate on the slopes.

The assembly seam from the outside must also be reliably protected from the effects of precipitation, wind and sunlight, under the influence of which the expanded polystyrene is destroyed. It can be effectively protected by installing metal slopes and platbands on plastic windows for exterior decoration which will give the window a neat finished look.

For the interior decoration of the window opening in the house, different types of material are used. It could be decorative plaster Do-it-yourself installation of PVC panels or drywall on the slopes of plastic windows. The decoration of internal slopes with decorative looks spectacular artificial stone... To understand which of these methods is better, it is worth considering each of them separately.

Photo report 2 we mount plastic slopes with a starting profile

The installation of plastic slopes begins using this technology with the preparation of a window opening. We cut off the foam exactly, remove everything that does not hold well, clean off the dust, if necessary, walk along the opening with a primer that improves adhesion.

Preparation of a window opening

A wooden block is attached along the perimeter of the opening, but already near the frame. Choose the thickness depending on the distance: it should almost go over the frame. One side of the bar must be earned with a plane, making a tilt. The angle of inclination of this face equal to the angle installation of the slope. You can saw off, but it is even more difficult to make it, unless there is a circular saw with adjustable angle.

We make a slope on one of the edges of the bar

We fasten the processed block to the walls along the perimeter of the opening. The fastening method depends on the wall material. If the wall is brick, you can try with self-tapping screws, you need to put dowels in concrete.

Buy a starting profile in the store, set it with its long side to the bar, fasten it. It is more convenient and faster to fix it with staples from a construction stapler to the bar, if there is none, you can use small nails or self-tapping screws with flat heads.

We fix the starting profile

When choosing a starting profile, take a dense one. It is more expensive, but you dearly only three meters per window, maybe a little more. A dense profile will hold the plastic well, soft - bends and the look is ugly. One more point - when installing the profile, press it as tightly as possible to the frame so that there are no gaps at all, or they are minimal.

At the top, when joining vertical and horizontal profiles, you need to be especially careful and cut them off exactly at an angle of 45 °. If there are small gaps, they can be repaired with acrylic.

Installed start profile

Using this technology, it is more convenient to start the installation of seam slopes from the sidewalls. Insert the panel into the fixed starting profile. It is also better to take them from expensive and dense ones, with a thick layer of plastic. If you put cheap (ceiling) ones, then the front wall is thin, and jumpers will be visible in bright light. In addition, such plastic can be pushed through even with a finger.

Insert the plastic panel into the profile

By width plastic panel there should be more slope. If the width of one is not enough, two are joined. But then, at the junction, an additional vertical bar will be needed, to which the first strip will be fixed.

The panel inserted into the profile is, as a rule, longer than the opening. Holding it with your hand, mark the line of the opening. Having removed, cut off along the marked line.

Cut to size

We install the panel again, move it a little from the wall and fill it with polyurethane foam, trying to fill it without gaps, but without excess. To do this, we start from the far lower corner - we draw from the bottom up near the nailed bar. Until we got to the top, the foam expanded a little at the bottom. Draw a line with foam again, but closer to the edge. The closer to the outer edge, the less foam is required - after all, the panel is installed under a slope, so make the paths thinner and thinner. Having reached the middle, make a snake on the rest of the surface and press the panel as it should stand. Align and check. Secure to the wall with masking tape. The second part is also installed and then the upper one. It can also be cut out according to a paper template, and the edges can be adjusted to perfect (or almost) coincidence with sandpaper.

Installed plastic window slopes

Having installed all parts of the slope and secured with masking tape, leave until complete polymerization. Then, in order not to putty the gaps between the slope and the wall, a white plastic corner is glued to liquid nails. The main task is to cut exactly at the corners. It is easy to glue: apply a thin strip of glue on both shelves of the corner, press, passing with your hand along, hold for a couple of minutes. So they are installed around the entire perimeter, then, before the glue dries, they are also glued with masking tape and left.

Installed corners along the perimeter of the slope

After a day, we remove the tape, the plastic slopes are ready.

It looks like a window with installed plastic slopes

If there are gaps somewhere, they are sealed with acrylic, as described above. Do not use silicone. In the light, it quickly turns yellow. In a year or two, your windows will look terrible. Look for white acrylic sealant and mask them.

Plaster slopes

Plastering of slopes is more suitable for finishing a window block in brick houses and to a lesser extent for wooden houses

But at present, the method of finishing with plaster slopes is used less and less (for a number of disadvantages, which we will consider below), and vice versa, slopes from PVC profiles are becoming more common, which, in comparison with plaster ones, have whole line advantages, such as installation time and, not least, have better thermal insulation. But let's look at everything in order.

As we have already found out above, in addition to the aesthetic function, the slope plays important role in sound and heat insulation and protection of the assembly seam as a whole, creating a so-called barrier to the penetration of cold air from the street, since most often blowing occurs just in the area of the assembly seam. It is here that the weakest spots of the plaster slopes open up, namely, the plaster itself is bad warmly insulating material with a very high level of probability of overcooling of the opening during periods of lowering seasonal temperatures, which can lead to cracks and peeling of the plaster and the entire destruction of the slope.
There is a misconception that the installation of plaster slopes is cheaper, this is far and not always the case. Consider the installation of plaster slopes with your own hands. To prepare the solution, you need a dry mixture (gypsum or cement) diluted with water. As we have already found out, preparation before installation plays a major role, therefore, the junction points of the window block must be cleaned of dust, dirt and degreased. To improve adhesion (the so-called "setting"), the walls are pre-moistened with a special solution, which also gives the wall strength.
Further, the slope is strengthened by mounting reinforced mesh into the wall. The inconvenience of this type of installation lies in the fact that when applying the cement mixture to the upper part of the slope, it is necessary to apply great efforts when applying the cement mixture to the surface of the walls of the upper slope compared to the side ones. The application takes place by systematically leveling out all the cracks and irregularities, the excess is removed and the angles of adhesion of the slope to the wall are leveled.
The main disadvantage of this type of slope is the operating time. Subject to all parameters and application technology, the working time can reach up to a week. This is especially felt when performing a large amount of work (several windows, for example), since plastering requires the application of several layers, each subsequent one is applied only after the previous one has dried. The first application takes place by the so-called "spraying" method, after which it is primed in 1-2 layers only after the previous one has completely dried. The soil is necessary to shape the slopes and level deep potholes. Only after that, by applying a thin layer of putty, small irregularities are hidden. If there is a need for a second layer of putty, then it is applied only after the primer and in the same thin layer and only on a dry surface. Correct preservation of the application technology will shorten the paint coating time and significantly reduce the possibility of coating degradation.
Now you can go directly to painting. Most often, plaster slopes are painted acrylic paint but sometimes enamels are also used. Just like the primer, painting takes place in two layers, the second layer is applied only after the first one has completely dried.
Another drawback, and it is probably the most significant of this type of slope finishing, is the difference in the coefficients of expansion of materials (PVC and plaster) with changes in temperature. That negatively affects the entire slope and will inevitably lead to the formation of cracks or even cracks at the points of contact between the slope and the window block. Which essentially boils down to the fact that plaster slopes have more disadvantages than advantages. In addition, with this type of slopes, additional thermal insulation is not provided. This can lead, at high temperature differences outside and inside the room, to fogging of the window.

Pros of plaster slopes:

  • Relative cheapness of materials needed to create slopes;

Cons of plaster slopes:

  • To create a smooth and high-quality slope cover, it should be done by an experienced specialist;
  • From seasonal temperature changes, the plaster cracks and collapses;
  • High operating time compared to other types of slopes;
  • Weak heat-insulating characteristics in comparison with other types of PVC;

Slopes

After installing the windows, it is necessary to make slopes. Slopes are the section of the wall between the window and the wall, i.e. window hole. Slopes are both external (located outside the window) and internal (located inside the room). This article will focus on interior slopes.

Many people believe that after the window is installed and treated with foam, it has excellent insulation. However, the foam, when it is not protected by anything, absorbs moisture and collapses at temperature extremes. The slopes not only hide the traces of roughing installation works, but also protect assembly seams, improve heat and sound insulation, prevent windows from fogging. However, slopes will be able to perform all these functions only if they are correctly and qualitatively installed. With an illiterate installation, about 40% of the heat will go through the slopes.

Compare different types slopes.

Plaster slopes

Plaster slopes have more disadvantages than advantages. The plaster sooner or later begins to crack, loses its color under the influence of the rays of the salt lick, and in the event of the inevitable subsidence of the new house, it can "move away" from the wall. In addition, plaster slopes are not quite convenient in terms of their production. Slopes should be plastered in several layers, while each layer should stand and dry. Then these slopes are primed and painted. The entire process can take a week or two. In plaster slopes, the necessary thermal insulation is not provided, which, with the slightest hypothermia, leads to fogging of the windows.

Plasterboard slopes

Compared to plaster, drywall slopes are more durable. If they are still insulated with cotton wool, then the plasterboard slopes will have good thermal insulation properties. However, a significant drawback of drywall is their "fear" of moisture, and therefore, it is impossible to obtain good waterproofing with their help. Such slopes can be installed in those rooms where the humidity level is insignificant and is kept at a constant level. After installing these slopes, they are also primed and painted. The production time is slightly less than that of plaster.

Plastic slopes

This type of slope is the most versatile. They are quick to install, do not fade, are very practical and easy to clean. Plastic is a very durable material - it will last about 20 years without fail. Plastic can be of different colors, and therefore it will go well with any window. Due to the use of mineral wool plastic slopes for installation, such slopes have excellent hydro and thermal insulation properties, which prevents heat loss and condensation on the windows.

And some numbers. The cost price of a standard 120x75cm window slope is about $ 35. If you hire a specialist, then such a slope will cost you at least $ 85. If your window has non-standard shapes or sizes, then the price of the slope will increase significantly.

The whole process includes the following steps:

Plastic slope device.

Stage 1. Preparing the walls. Take a wooden lath and self-tapping screws 9.5 cm. Fasten them around the entire perimeter of the slopes. They should not protrude beyond the surface of the walls. Use a drill and hammer drill if necessary. The slats should be placed strictly vertically. Use a spirit level to check the level of evenness.

Stage 2. Attaching the starting strip. The U-shaped plastic strip must be fixed to the outer edges of the window opening. For this, small self-tapping screws with a size of 4.5 mm are used. In the opening of this strip, called the gutter, you will subsequently insert the slope strip. If during the installation process you find a joint between individual parts of the starting strip, their corners should be carefully cut off with a knife. Thanks to this, an even and beautiful joint will turn out from the inside.

Step 3. Installation of the F-type strip. The lane is installed opposite the start lane chute. In the rest, which is located above the window, it is necessary to cut off the F-groove. After the edges of the strips have joined, the excess must be cut off with metal scissors. The strip is fixed to a wooden lath with a construction stapler.

Slope installation scheme.

To ensure the strength of the fastening, it is made as close to the wooden base as possible.

Stage 4. Laying insulation and installing plastic in the prepared grooves. At this stage, accuracy plays an important role, so all measurements should be taken with extreme care.

You can hide the flaws of the joints with the help of silicone.

Features and installation procedure

Before starting the installation of PVC slopes, it is necessary, in strict accordance with all existing norms and rules, to prepare the surface and assemble the frame. To do this, you will need to remove the previous coating, exposing the base of the wall, cut off the protruding around the window block polyurethane foam, on which the installation of a plastic window was carried out. The dirt and dust can now be removed. There is no need to prime the surface, since the PVC slopes are fixed on a specially assembled lathing and do not come into contact with the surface.

All work related to the installation of the structure does not take much time, but requires attention and accuracy. They perform manipulations with their own hands, without resorting to the help of qualified specialists.

Complete processing is subject to assembly seam from the outside of the window. This will protect the polyurethane foam from direct sunlight and will provide additional protection against the penetration of sedimentary moisture and cold air.

Installation begins with the preparation and fastening of the so-called starting strip. These are guides, which are wooden bars:

  1. Each such bar, cut strictly to size in accordance with the height and width of the opening, is fixed using self-tapping screws or PVC dowels. The dimensions of the bar do not exceed 4x4 cm, and the length of the self-tapping screws is 51 mm.
  2. The slats should be through holes at a distance of 6 to 12 cm from each other, using an electric drill, then install them strictly parallel to the window frame and fix them around the entire perimeter of the window, hammering in the dowels. Then, it is necessary to tighten them with self-tapping screws so that the caps are recessed by 0.5 cm into the rail.
  3. The installed rails must be additionally strengthened using summer foam. It does not differ in frost resistance, but on the side of the building facade, protection has already been created for it.
  4. On the rails, you need to fix the starting profile. This will require construction stapler and staples with a length of 15 mm will do.

The rail can be finally fixed only after the master is convinced of its correct location.

After completing the preparatory work, you can proceed directly to the installation of PVC slopes.

How to make slopes on windows with your own hands from plaster

For this type of work, you need to prepare tools:

  • painting corners;
  • guides;
  • wood plank;
  • building level;
  • malka (goniometer);
  • self-tapping screws.

There are two main methods for making guides.

Scheme of the structure and insulation of the slope.

The first method is to use the boards as guides. They are exposed along the edge of the future slope and perimeter of the window, using the building level. The slope is straightened with the help of a bevel. It can be made from plywood. The prepared plaster solution is applied to the boards and evenly distributed with a small piece.

The second method is using a painting corner. This method is a little easier than the first, but the process itself is about the same. Wood is also used. A layer of plaster is applied to it, but the corners of the slopes are made using a painting corner. This avoids chipping.

Wooden slopes made of glued panels and wood trim

To install this type of slopes, you will have to make no small efforts and certainly the installation should be carried out by a specialist. Before installation, there are several things to consider: wood must be processed before installation special composition, which will protect the tree from moisture. Depending on the type of wood, after installing the slope, it must be opened with varnish in several layers
This type of slope is distinguished primarily by its good impact on mechanical stress and environmental friendliness. In addition to this, this type of finishing of the slope is almost the most aesthetic and beautiful. At the same time, there is a large selection of wood textures for finishing slopes, its subsequent painting and forms of execution.

Advantages of Wooden Doors:

  • Environmentally friendly finish;
  • Good resistance to physical stress;

Cons of Wooden Doors:

  • The high cost of this type of slope;
  • Not practical if you do not make efforts to protect and care for the tree;
  • Without proper preparation, it is impossible to qualitatively mount wooden slopes on your own;

The advantages of plastic slopes

What do plastic slopes look like?

The PVC panel slope option is faster and easier than plastering a window. Of course, it will be more expensive to make a window, but more time will be saved. PVC panels are made from similar material, as the window, so when the temperature changes, the window and the installed material will expand in the same way.

Coloring of the material is not necessary, there is no need for lengthy preparation. It takes a couple of hours to remove irregularities after dismantling. For a window, it is better to choose a high-quality type of plastic that will not emit harmful substances in the sun and has sufficient rigidity. Materials should be created in accordance with GOST or SNiPu. In some cases, it is better to insulate the window opening and window sill or use sandwich panels, which already have sound insulation and thermal insulation inside. Thus, mold and mildew will not appear, and the windows will not fog up and freeze.

SNiP and GOST for slopes.

Slopes are top and side. The window sill (plastic or stone sill) is always made wider than the slopes (the dimensions are indicated by the project). On the outer lower side of the window opening, a window sill is arranged with a large outward slope, which is called an ebb.

Slope plaster

The upper slopes within the same room must be located strictly on the same horizontal line. The upper slopes on the facades should be in one straight line, regardless of the number of windows and the length of the walls of the facade. Side slopes should be located strictly vertically in one line along the entire height of the building.

Slopes are made with the angle of dawn, i.e. with a bevel leaving the distance between the inner boundaries of the slopes narrower than between the outer ones. For example, the distance of the boxes between the slopes is 1500 mm. and, at the walls, this distance can be 1600 mm. or more. The dawn angle of all slopes inside the building is made the same. The angle of dawn is measured with a square with a nailed or movable bar. The square is inserted into a quarter of the box, and the rules are fixed along the bar.

For the accuracy of the installation of the boxes, the inner surfaces of the walls are first hung, stamps and beacons are arranged, and boxes are installed along them at the same distance from the arranged beacons. Usually, a rule is attached to the lighthouses and the distance is measured from it, putting marks on the walls of the opening. According to these marks, the boxes are fixed strictly vertically and horizontally, observing the appropriate level. After installing the boxes, a gap remains between them and the wall, which is filled with polyurethane foam or tow. Depending on the type of finishing of the building, window and door slopes can be with platbands, which are pulled from the same solution.

Plastering of internal slopes.

Plastering of internal slopes. before plastering the slopes, the walls must be plastered and trowelled completely or near window openings a strip at least 50 cm wide. First, the upper slope is plastered, hanging the rule at the measured angles of dawn. The rule is fastened with nails, clamps, crutches or frozen with a plaster dough. After they start plastering the side slopes.

External slope plaster.

The outer slopes are finished in the same way as the inner ones. The same mortar as the facade of the building. If the facade is not plastered, then cement mortars are most often used to finish the external slopes. It is impossible to plaster the external slopes with gypsum-based plasters. First, a rule is hung on the slopes, then a solution is applied, leveled and rubbed. If the ebb is not installed, then arrange a drain from the cement mortar and iron it. For better design window openings on the walls on the sides and upper slopes are arranged with strips of mortar - straps. Study guide Plastering work. Shepelev A.M.

Finishing slopes with plaster without insulation

Making a window opening without using insulation material- the method is not modern, but it is often used. The main reason why such a finish disappears is the wrong execution of work.

How to plaster window slopes correctly

The step-by-step process is as follows:

  1. Guides made of metal or wood are placed around the windows.
  2. The lighthouses are level and fixed with dowels in the walls. In fact, the lighthouse shows the percentage by which the thickness of the plaster will be.
  3. The second beacon is placed at the corner of the window opening.
  4. Plaster is thrown on the wall uneven walls are aligned using the rule that is drawn from the bottom up along the beacons.
  5. By analogy, work is done for the ceiling and drainage.
  6. The main task of the first layer is to fill in the voids and form the corners and the window opening itself.
  7. It is necessary to level the walls when the solution is no longer wet, thus the material is thrown in and the surface is leveled along the beacons. A flat plane should form. Excess material is removed and the window is left to dry the mortar.
  8. The window opening must be primed and a finishing layer of putty up to 1.5 mm thick must be applied.

On the the last stage, the opening can be renewed with paint or other finishing materials, for example, a paper layer of wallpaper, etc.

Important! Every meter of DIY work will not just decorate a private house or an apartment, but also provide experience and pleasure. The design of the slope can be carried out according to the described method everywhere, inside, outside, on the balcony and in other places.

You can get acquainted with the process by watching the video at the end of the article.

Slopes.

Slopes are parts of the wall directly adjacent to the window opening, forming it. It is also customary to call slopes various Decoration Materials covering and ennobling these parts of the wall (hereinafter, under the word "slopes" we will understand this very definition). Slopes play not only an aesthetic role, but also insulate the coldest, "dangerous" places, protecting the owner (tenant) from possible troubles - freezing and blowing.

Cold and wind can penetrate into the slope zone not only through a poorly executed window assembly seam, but also through cracks and voids in the walls themselves.

If the temperature on the surface of the slopes or inside them approaches the "dew point" (we recommend reading about it in the corresponding section of our "piggy bank of knowledge"), if the slopes are wet, the process of formation and growth of fungal mold will begin, which is not easy to get rid of

To avoid this extremely unpleasant phenomenon, we recommend not only to pay attention to the quality of the slopes themselves, but also to take care of preparing the opening for their installation - to close up possible locations blowing in advance, before installing the slopes. In this case, it is advisable (except for plaster slopes, for which these works are not necessary) to use not mineral wool (isover, etc.), but polyurethane foam

Several types are common: plaster, plasterboard, cork, plastic, wood, and veneered slopes valuable breeds trees.

Plaster slopes- the most time consuming. The device of plaster slopes takes place in several stages. To improve adhesion, the surface is treated with a primer (concrete contact or similar), the plaster is applied in several layers using a mesh, with mandatory insulation (to avoid freezing). The plaster should not come close to it, leave 5-10 mm for sealing with silicone. Finishing includes sanding and painting in 2-4 layers (depending on the paint).

What is needed to install glass or mirror slopes

Qualitative measurement of the depth of the slope - from the window to the edge of the wall. As well as internal and external heights. Trust only professionals: there are many nuances that must not be missed.

Decide on the design of the slopes. This can be painting, sandblasting, photographic application. The options are limited only by your imagination!

Order the manufacture of slopes

We have been working with glass for a long time and we know how important it is to use high-quality materials - this affects not only decorative effect, but also plays an important role in the durability of the product.

Install slopes. You can cope with this task on your own, but in the absence of experience, it is better to turn to professionals - in order to get the highest quality result.

Plastic slopes

Most universal view slopes are considered plastic. Installation takes place within a few hours, they are practical, easy to clean. Plastic is very durable and will last you at least 10 years without losing its properties. At the same time, the plastic slopes are in perfect harmony with the pvc window itself. Usually they consist of special profiles - the initial one, which is attached to the frame, the final one, which forms a casing, a plastic panel or an insulated sandwich panel is inserted into the grooves between them. The free space between the slope and the opening is filled with either polyurethane foam, or mineral wool, which gives the plastic slopes high thermal insulation characteristics. Do not forget that when installing, including plastic slopes, you need a qualified specialist who will do this work accurately and according to technology.

What are slopes

Slopes play an important aesthetic, decorative, practical (on window sills that vary to any size, you can put, put, whatever), as well as a secondary insulating role. (If the installers are not experienced enough and did not install or foamed the structure of high quality, there were gaps), then an additional stronghold of heat preservation is the slopes, under which there is an air space or polyurethane foam

Before starting the installation work, the old product is dismantled. During dismantling, the walls lose their presentation, cracks, chips and other damage appear. Therefore, it becomes necessary for us to give the damaged walls an aesthetically pleasing appearance. Two ways appear: to plaster, to putty, to paint over, and then to curtain and not touch.

Or install modern plastic slopes, which, unlike old plastered slopes, are easy to clean, they have a flat, smooth surface, they are easy to decorate, they retain air even when not very quality installation the structure itself, when installing slopes according to the technology, hydro-noise-insulating layers are provided in them.

If the repair takes place in the room where the boilers are installed, it is necessary to take into account all the features of this equipment. The temperature where the boiler is installed can be increased and the slopes should be at some distance from the equipment. Various models of boilers will allow you not to bother with their location in the room.

There are also drywall slopes, they are not in great demand and popularity because of their quality. They are not waterproof, difficult to wash, and require painting. Plasterboard slopes are mainly used by self-taught people or people who basically ordered only a PVC product without installation (as they say, "I blinded you out of what was). As a rule, in serious companies engaged in PVC installation, a very low percentage of orders is precisely" Gypsy "
I think from all of the above, it becomes clear that plastic is the favorite among the slopes. All the advantages are on the face and my personal professional opinion, we choose plastic.

Slopes on windows plaster outdated technology

According to many builders and repairmen, this is an antediluvian technology that is not worth attention - on the one hand, it is so, but not quite

Yes, it is somewhat outdated, but attention should be paid to it because it alone can rightfully be called environmentally friendly, since it does not use modern composite materials... As they say, only natural product - cement and sand and nothing more.

There are several advantages to plastered slopes.

Decorating slopes with plaster photo

The disadvantages of plastered slopes can only be attributed to the inept hands of the masters. But this is not their fault. This is a modern approach to repair and construction, or rather the current building materials, which allow specialists to earn the same money, only several times faster. Naturally, this happens to the detriment of quality, no matter how these moments are hidden by manufacturers and craftsmen - it is easier to install on slopes in half a day than to fiddle with plaster for several days, earning the same money. I have nothing against it modern technologies, but reality remains reality, no matter how hidden. And from the point of view of a comfortable and healthy indoor climate, plastered slopes are the best option... Yes, they are difficult to make, but still ...

How to mount correctly

The slope of plastic windows inside can be installed independently; this does not require complex work or hiring specialists. You can easily save money by doing the work yourself well.

  • Before starting the procedure, you will need to carry out some preparation, which includes cleaning the window opening from excess debris. To do this, you will need to cut off the protruding polyurethane foam, blow out debris, and degrease the space. Small gaps can be sealed with a sealant, if there are large holes, they are sealed with a cement mixture, if necessary, the joints are treated with a sealant. This will not only eliminate drafts, but also get rid of moisture entering the space between the slope and the frame.
  • Next, you can begin to install sandwich panels for the slopes of plastic windows, the price of which at first glance is slightly higher than conventional counterparts, but if you add the price of insulation to the cost of a bare slope, the cost of lathing, vapor barrier and other trifles, the difference will not be so big. Installation of ebb slopes can occur both immediately after the installation of windows, and after any time after that.

Slopes are sold in the form of long structures, you should not be afraid of this, it is enough to correctly measure and cut off in place, the material is easily sawed off hand saw... The main thing is that the parameters of the selected slope correspond to the characteristics of the window opening, not less.

  • Installation of ebb slopes is carried out in a specific sequence. You need to start with the installation of ebb tides, otherwise the slopes will interfere. You must first find a horizontal line: you need to do this by level, then glue the joints between the window and the frame with a special diffusion tape.
  • Ebb tides are most often fastened with polyurethane foam, the excess of which is cut off after it dries, and the seams are treated with a moisture-resistant sealant. In order for the part not to lag behind and to be fixed in an even position, for the period of foam hardening, it is pressed with something heavy. The low tide should look down a little so that snow does not collect on it.

Installation of slopes and ebb tides on plastic windows should be carried out carefully, it is important to ensure that each part is level, there are no gaps between it and the walls. ...

  • After the ebb is fixed, you can begin to mount the slopes. Inside, the installation is carried out according to the same principle as outside, only in the case of working inside, you usually have to deal not with the ebb, but with the window sill, which is also fastened with foam in the first place, then they begin to install the slopes.

Slopes are also produced ready-made, so all that is needed is to adjust the part to size

It is necessary to mount carefully so that the joints come together and there is no large gap. It is recommended to seal the slots with a sealant, if they are

Work begins with vertical elements, which are fastened with self-tapping screws, then horizontal structural elements are mounted.

Assembled slopes

Plastic ebb and flow - good way protect the window structure from moisture, block the wind from entering the room. The insulated slope will not allow warm air to escape through the windows and will help to make the room several degrees warmer in winter.

Types of window slopes and their advantages

How to make slopes on the windows with your own hands depends on the location of such an opening. The slope can be external, internal and external. When installing the inside of the window, there is no functional role from the design, except for the tightness of the system. The cladding serves to hide the joints of windows and walls. The outer slope is required for absorption extraneous noise from the street, as well as for keeping warm.

Why do we need slopes on the windows

The decoration of the slopes of the windows inside can be different, based on the material:

  1. Plastering.
  2. Wooden.
  3. Plasterboard.
  4. Plastic.
  5. Sandwich panel.

A description of each type with pluses and minuses is presented in the table:

View: Description:
Plastering: The classic way of decorating a window opening with cement or plaster. The installation of a window made of plaster material will take a lot of time, at least a couple of days, due to the duration of the drying of the solution at each stage. Working with putty and plaster is laborious, requires certain skills, but you can seal it up everywhere. The material is the cheapest, after being applied to the walls, it requires smoothing and painting.
Wooden: Wood is more often used if the window is also made of wood. In this case, outwardly there will be an exquisite expensive look. For work, it is better to select only high-quality wood species, well dried and processed. A quality wood will last as long as plastic. The main advantage is environmental friendliness, the disadvantage is cost.
Plasterboard: It is simple to mount a slope for a GKL window, better than using putties. Drywall is used if the damage to the window opening is strong, and it will not work to cover it up. They are used for internal slopes, if you wish, you can carry out insulation by filling the space between the wall and drywall. Any material is suitable as insulation, especially mineral wool. Such a slope must be putty and painted. The disadvantage is that the material will swell over time.
Plastic: Lining is more expensive than drywall, but it has big amount pluses. The plastic slope is easily mounted, in just a day, maintenance does not require rinsing enough. An ideal frame for a plastic window, since the expansion from temperature is the same. They are used inside and outside, on the facade. The width of the window opening must be up to 25 cm, in otherwise additional measures must be taken to fix the material.
Sandwich panel: One of the types of plastic slope. Panels differ from plastic in their flakiness, because they have three layers. A couple of layers of plastic and insulation between them. Great for mounting, no use additional materials... The most expensive material for window decoration.

There are also other materials for slopes, for example, siding or aluminum profiles, such materials are more often used to decorate the outer part of the window, from the street. The slope turns out to be voluminous and looks beautiful on the house.

How to comply with SNIP for the construction of slopes

When constructing slopes, an important issue is to provide fortifications against collapse and subsequent creeping of the earth. How to comply with SNIP for the construction of slopes?

Take advantage of innovative geosynthetics available from our GeoSM company, which specializes in wholesales of these materials in the entire range at the best prices.

Our materials for the construction of pit slopes according to SNIP are developed using a unique patented technology. They are used to provide excellent stability and strength to the foundations of trenches and excavations.

We specialize in the development and production of:

Geotextile cloth Geoflax; - Geoflax geogrids; - Geoflax geonets.

We ensure that all GeoSM materials comply with regulatory and national requirements. Geotextiles made in our production are used in the construction of construction pits and trenches.

Maintenance of SNIP for the construction of slopes

The steepness of the pit slopes according to SNIP 12 04 2002 is determined depending on the available construction site soils. Installation of vertical walls is allowed in the absence of groundwater and the presence of soils with a uniform structure. Largest angle natural slope soils according to SNIP are determined according to the table depending on the type of soils.

The steepness of the slopes according to SNIP should be such that collapses do not occur during the construction process. Safety comes first. For the construction of reliable and safe facilities, it is necessary to ensure the laying of slopes according to SNIP. Begin the design by defining the slope parameters to ensure optimal backfilling.

In the presence of landslide soils or groundwater, or a pit or trench depth of more than 5 meters, it is necessary to develop individual project in accordance with the identified unique conditions. To carry out earthworks with slopes according to SNIP, before design, geological and hydrogeological surveys are ordered.

Basic recommendations on the use of materials and technologies for the construction of slopes in SNIP

Along with traditional materials(rubble, sand, concrete mixtures) when strengthening the slopes according to SNIP, a geotextile cloth is laid under the base of the cushion, which serves to separate the cushion from the ground. In modern technical specifications for the fastening of soil slopes according to SNIP, the use of geosynthetics this is necessary to prevent contact between the ground and the cushion, drain the base, prevent erosion and reduce mobility.

Geosynthetics and their role in slope construction

Among the advantages of using geosynthetics for the construction of slopes according to SNIP, we note:

Resistance to the effects of aggressive environments; Ease of laying the material; UV resistance; The duration of the service life; The presence of excellent carrying capacities and prevention of mixing of the slope structure with the ground;

Environmental friendliness.

MDF slopes

Less often in the installation of slopes, such a type as fiberboard is used. Manufactured by pressing sawdust with the addition of various combined resins. This negatively affects the moisture-resistant characteristics, and which in turn limits the options for placing such slopes in rooms with high humidity.
As " front surface»A variety of PVC films are used, or veneer is used natural wood.

Advantages of MDF slopes:

  • Low cost compared to other slope finishes;
  • Sufficiently high resistance to mechanical stress;

Cons of MDF slopes:

  • Very low moisture resistance;

The device of slopes for windows

The slope is an integral part of any window. It not only provides an attractive appearance windows, but also limited access to cold and dampness in the room.

What is a slope?

A slope is called a support in the form of an inclined bar. A window slope is an important building element that can give a complete look to a window.

The reliability and durability of buildings depends on the correct mounting of the slopes. In addition, the slopes do not let noise into the room, which provides residents with maximum convenience.

With the help of the slope, the window and the corner of the inside of the house are connected. Slopes can be both internal and external. Internal slopes are installed indoors, and external ones - from the outside. The installation of slopes should be done on both sides, which will provide the window high level wear resistance.

After installing the external slope, it is imperative to seal the gaps between the window frame and the wall. Otherwise, moisture will be absorbed into the polyurethane foam and transferred to the inner part of the wall.

This can cause the appearance of fungus on the slope, which will not only spoil the appearance of the window, but will also negatively affect human health.

External slopes can be made in any color, which will emphasize the original appearance of the house. The interior slopes are mainly made in white, which gives the room a light and an unrivaled appearance.

What are the best slopes?

Today there are many options for slopes that can be made on windows. This is due to the large number of materials on the construction market. The most common materials from which slopes are made are:

  • Sandwich panel;
  • Plastic panel;
  • Plaster; drywall;
  • Decorative coatings, etc.

Plastic slopes are installed mainly on plastic windows. The main disadvantage of these slopes is the lack of thermal insulation, since they are hollow.

Sandwich panel slopes have high-density insulation, which helps to keep warm in the room. Also, using these devices, you can seal the window space. Due to the high level of resistance to moisture, a fairly long term operation of these panels.

To create a flat plane relative to the wall, it is best to use drywall slopes. This material for window decoration must be selected in order to restore deep openings.

Plaster slopes are a classic type of finish that is characterized by a high level of strength and reliability. The disadvantage of these units is that they are quite difficult to mount.

Slopes from decorative materials are made in order to emphasize the individual design of the room. Cork wood, mirrors, bamboo slats, etc. are used as decorative materials.

From the point of view of strength, plaster slopes are best, attractiveness - decorative slopes, practicality - plastic, durability - sandwich panels.

Slope manufacturing technology

Slope manufacturing technologies are very diverse. They directly depend on the material that the user has chosen to perform this action.

When making slopes from plaster, it is necessary to initially install beacons, which will allow you to align the slopes as evenly as possible. For the preparation of plaster, it is necessary to choose mixtures based on gypsum, to which add sand and cement. Slopes are applied using a trowel.

For plastic slopes, PVC panels are used, from which an assembly spike is removed before use. Next, you need to cut the panels to the size of the window opening using a jigsaw or an assembly knife. It is necessary to apply a special foam on the wall, on which the slopes will be installed.

The owners of apartments do not always know what slopes and low tides are in plastic windows. , and believe that it is not necessary to install them. However, before making a conclusion, you need to figure out what it is and what they are for. The main function of these parts is not only the decorative completion of the windows, but also the protection of the room from moisture and drafts.

Purpose and terminology

Ebb tides are installed from the outside of the structure, slopes without ebb tides are mounted inside the room. - This is a structure that does not allow moisture to get to the window frame or the wall of the building, for example, during rain. At low tide, precipitation is diverted to the side and falls on the ground.

Terminology

The slope, no matter which side it is, is placed along the perimeter of the window and serves for decorative design, as it helps to hide assembly seams, irregularities, close the window opening after the windows are inserted. Another purpose of the structure is to protect the room from noise and cold. If the ebb and flow are not installed, there is a high probability that excess moisture will enter the room through the leaky seams. In the cool season, it will not be comfortable in the room, since warm air will quickly leave it, in addition, condensation will form on the windows, fungus and mold may appear on the walls.

Self-assembly

And the ebb tide on plastic windows is not always carried out by the same company that installs the windows. Often doing this individual specialist or the work has to be done by the owners of the premises. Do not be afraid of this: in fact, the installation of these elements does not cause difficulty and is within the power of an amateur. However, if your apartment is high enough and you need to carry out work outside, it is better to hire people with the appropriate equipment, since in the absence of a balcony, working at a height is unsafe and requires special skills and insurance, which are not profitable to buy.

Plastic sandwich for slopes

Internal work can be safely carried out independently. The correct slope must not be of the same material as window frame: this will help to avoid cracks, different reactions of materials to temperature and other external factors. Plastic is convenient to use, easy to install, looks harmonious, is inexpensive, does not require complex installation and maintenance after installation.

In order not to spend a lot of time on installation, not to think about how to properly place the insulation inside the slopes, you can purchase sandwich panels for the slopes of plastic windows. This is finished structure, which already has a polyurethane insulation inside, and it can be installed right away, having previously only repaired and sealed the gaps in the seams.

Structure of installed slopes

How to mount correctly?

Inside, you can install it yourself, for this you do not need to carry out complex work, hire specialists.

Slopes are sold in the form of long structures, you should not be afraid of this, it is enough to correctly measure and cut off in place, the material is easily sawed off with a hand saw.

The installation of slopes and ebbs on plastic windows should be carried out carefully, it is important to ensure that each part is level, there are no gaps between it and the walls.

Slopes are also produced ready-made, so all that is needed is to adjust the part to size. It is necessary to mount carefully so that the joints come together and there is no large gap. It is recommended to seal the slots with a sealant, if any. Work begins with vertical elements, which are fastened with self-tapping screws, then horizontal structural elements are mounted.

Assembled slopes

Plastic ebb tides and slopes are a good way to protect the window structure from moisture, block the wind from entering the room. The insulated slope will not allow warm air to escape through the windows and will help to make the room several degrees warmer in winter.

The slope is the part of the opening located along the perimeter of the window block. Slopes are external and internal and are also divided into "Wet finish" for example Plaster or "Dry finish" - these are the so-called overhead slopes. Overheads can be made of plastic plates or wood veneer. The slopes themselves are the final and one of the most important milestones finishing of plastic windows. What could be so important at first glance in this decorative element?

First, it's not quite decorative element... In addition to the aesthetic beauty, the slope should perform a number of functions to protect the assembly seam in the places where the window unit joins the frame, and to prevent cold air from entering the room from the street. The functionality of the slope depends on proper preparation window block before installing the slopes and, accordingly, high-quality installation. Separately, it should be noted that mounting foam itself (which is the central layer between the window and the wall) is an excellent insulating material, but provided that the foam must be protected from external atmospheric influences such as moisture, cold and direct sunlight. Without proper protection, the foam will very quickly forget. Based on this requirement when installing window slopes we kill two birds with one stone: we protect the assembly seam, keeping warm in the house and organically decorate the window block. In more detail it is worth dwelling on the types of finishes and decoration of the slopes. There are several options for finishing slopes using different methods and materials for work. For example, wooden slopes, which in themselves indicate the exclusivity and prestige of a window opening, since the materials of manufacture are most often natural shields made of wood or even noble wood species. But to install such slopes requires skill and it will be difficult for an untrained specialist to install and even more correctly decorate such a slope. But first things first, and first we will consider the option of finishing with plaster, this method is also called "Wet finishing of slopes."

Plaster slopes

Plastering of slopes is more suitable for finishing a window block in brick houses and to a lesser extent for wooden houses. But at present, the method of finishing plaster slopes is used less and less (for a number of disadvantages, which we will consider below), and vice versa, slopes from PVC profiles are becoming more common, which, in comparison with plaster ones, have a number of advantages, such as installation time and that it is important that they have better thermal insulation. But let's look at everything in order. As we have already found out above, in addition to the aesthetic function, the slope plays an important role in sound and thermal insulation and protection of the assembly seam as a whole, creating a so-called barrier to the penetration of cold air from the street, since most often blowing occurs just in the area of the assembly seam. It is here that the weakest spots of the plaster slopes open up, namely, the plaster itself is a poor thermal insulation material with a very high level of probability of hypothermia of the opening during periods of lowering seasonal temperatures, which can lead to cracks and peeling of the plaster and the entire destruction of the slope. Further, the slope is strengthened by mounting a reinforced mesh into the wall. Most often, plaster slopes are painted with acrylic paint, but sometimes enamels are also used. This can lead, with high temperature differences outside and inside the room, to fogging of the window.

Pros of plaster slopes:

  • Relative cheapness of materials needed to create slopes;

Cons of plaster slopes:

  • To create a smooth and high-quality slope cover, it should be done by an experienced specialist;
  • From seasonal temperature changes, the plaster cracks and collapses;
  • High operating time compared to other types of slopes;
  • Weak heat-insulating characteristics in comparison with other types of PVC;

Plasterboard slopes

Plasterboard slopes are more popular than plaster ones, and at the same time, special skills are not required to install them. But at the same time, it will be necessary to make no small efforts to create an even coating of abutment to the window block. It is also worth explaining that, in terms of production time, such slopes are comparable to plaster ones. To install drywall slopes with our own hands, we need: Plasterboard, insulation, primer, paint and fasteners. Before installing the slopes, the walls adjacent to the window must be prepared in a certain way, namely, the surface must be smooth, dry and free from defects. To install the slope, a base of special profiles is used, on the sides of the window block, which is drilled flush with the edge of the frame. This will be the basis for inserting the cut drywall strips. After the base is installed, all irregularities will be leveled with plaster. After that, a plasterboard sheet is installed, pre-cut into the required dimensions, to do this simply with an assembly knife. After installing the slope, you can additionally insulate with any heat-insulating material, for example, mineral wool. But the plasterboard slope itself has good thermal insulation properties, but at the same time it absorbs moisture, and therefore it is not recommended to install them in rooms with high humidity.

When installing plasterboard slopes, it is necessary to take into account the difference in the degrees of expansion (with seasonal temperature changes) in the places of adjoining window profile... To avoid cracking in such gaps, it is best to use so-called "soft" paintable transitions, such as silicone sealants. After that, the surface is primed and painted by analogy with plaster slopes. From here comes one very strong advantage of plasterboard slopes - their practicality in operation. This type of slope can be easily repaired in case of minor damage to the upper layer, for this it is enough to re-putty and paint it again.

Pros of plasterboard slopes:

  • More durable than plaster;
  • They have good thermal insulation properties;
  • Practical, easy to repair;

Cons of plasterboard slopes:

  • Long installation time of slopes compared to PVC;
  • Most plasterboard slopes are not suitable for installation in rooms with high humidity and even more so for outdoor decoration;

PVC slopes The main advantage of plastic slopes is the simplicity and speed of installation, as well as ease of care for PVC slopes, since the plastic from which the slopes are made is easy to clean and do not fade in the sun, which makes it possible to install both internal and external slopes. Installation takes place within a couple of hours. Plus, the plastic of the slope goes well with the PVC window itself. Durability also plays an important role - a good plastic slope will last at least 15 years without losing its properties. Exist a large number of PVC finishing systems of different manufacturers and panels, but the most common version of the PVC slope composition is the initial profile that is attached to the frame, the final profile, which is the casing and the third element is the panel itself (Sandwich panel or hollow panel), which is located between the initial and final profile. Let's take a look at each element separately. To begin with, let's understand what the slope panel itself is. There are two types of panels:

Panelite or hollow plastic panel, has stiffening ribs and a total thickness of 8-10 mm. - A sandwich panel, which is either free-foam or extruded (more dense), is essentially a seal closed with plastic on both sides. The most popular product for finishing slopes as it is the warmest. These slopes provide the best protection for the assembly seam. It surpasses hollow panelite in sound, hydro and thermal insulation properties, since expanded polystyrene is used as insulation.

They can be both matte and glossy, as well as with imitation of wood coating, in addition to this, there is a choice of any color coating. Sandwich panels for slopes are used with a thickness of 10 mm.

Both options are distinguished by practical versatility, quick installation, easy to clean, but the main positive difference from plaster and plasterboard slopes is aesthetics, since they completely coincide in composition, texture and color with window block, which means the same expansion coefficients for seasonal temperature changes. Let us examine what the so-called starting profile is or it can also be called the initial L-profile.

The initial profile is most often of two types: - L-profile, is PVC profile in the shape of the letter "L", from here and the name. It is used as the initial element of the slope, the panel itself is installed in it. Fastened with screws, sometimes with glue, but less often.

Clip-on profile, It is used in the same way as L-profile, for fastening the panel to the window frame. It differs only by fastening: snapping into the groove of the window support profile. Unlike the L-profile, the clip is profile-independent.

End or Finishing profile, as the name implies, is used to complete the transition from panel to wall. And just like the initial profile, there are two types: - F-profile. As the name implies, it is shaped like the letter "F". It is fastened by "gripping" the slope panel, while holding it rigidly. Sometimes attached with glue. - The platband is universal. Fastened with screws and closed with a lid, which is very convenient in installation and looks aesthetically pleasing as the end of the slope. There is another one in the trade program of the TBM company interesting option- Slope with platband, which is a hollow panel that is structurally connected to the platband. It is mounted similarly to the Universal Platband. Also, when installing PVC slopes, hollow or versatile corners are used. Corners are different thickness and versions depending on their application. Let's go directly to the installation PVC slopes... As in the case of the plaster and plasterboard slopes described above, a lot depends on preparatory work... Before installing the slopes, the surface of the walls of the junction of the window block should be cleaned of dust, degreased and preferably moistened with water, it is better to use a water spray to improve the adhesion of the foam, since the foam expands due to water absorption. After preparing the opening, it is necessary to measure the height (H), width (W) and depth (D) of the window block. Next, based on the dimensions obtained, we cut the panels. For cutting, you can use any tool, a jigsaw, a circular saw, an assembly knife or a hacksaw, the main thing is that the tool has a fine tooth. Cutting takes place according to the following dimensions: (H) x (D) - 2 pcs. - These are our side slopes; (W) x (D) - 1 pc. - The upper part of the slope; Also, by analogy with the dimensions, we cut additional elements of the future slope: Starting profile (L) for side slopes, the length is 2 x (D); Finishing profile (F) for side and top slopes, in the amount of 2 x (H) + (W) + 80 - 100 mm, with a margin cut at 45 degrees at the joints. Next, we install the L-profile, already cut to size, along the perimeter of the window block using self-tapping screws, with a distance between each other of 15 cm.With the installation option without using the L-profile, the slope panel is installed in the depth of the opening beyond the edge of the frame by 3-5 cm. If the panel is closed with an F-profile, it is important to take into account the size of the inner strip of the finishing profile and leave this place free from polyurethane foam or glue. Next, we install the upper and then the side panels of the slopes in the initial profile (L), align and press the panel against the opening, taking into account that a gap of 20-25 mm is obtained between the plastic and the base of the opening for subsequent filling with foam. After that, it is necessary to fill the assembly opening between the panel and the slope with polyurethane foam or mineral wool. After that, along the entire perimeter of the window block, we close the slope panels with an F-profile (having previously attached the panel to the screws) or use a universal platband fixing it to the screws and closing it with a lid, or use a hard corner on assembly adhesive... We apply glue for PVC or silicone sealant in the corners and joints of the panels. After the glue has dried, remove protective films from panels.

Separately, it is necessary to highlight the advantages in the subsequent operation of PVC slopes. To remove dirt, it is enough to wipe with a damp cloth. To remove stubborn dirt, special cleaners of PVC surfaces are used.

Advantages of PVC slopes:

  • Does not require preliminary processing and subsequent painting;
  • good noise and heat insulation;
  • More durable than plaster and plasterboard slopes
  • Practical in subsequent care, easy to clean;
  • Installation takes minimal time;

Cons of PVC slopes:

  • Without additional insulation(polyurethane foam or mineral wool) PVC panels retain heat much worse than plasterboard slopes.

There are also a large variety of finishing options for slopes from natural wood to PVC window sills sawn to size, but then we will analyze less popular but still more aesthetic, natural and most importantly used finishing options, such as MDF panels and natural wood.

MDF slopes

Less often in the installation of slopes, such a type as fiberboard is used. Manufactured by pressing sawdust with the addition of various combined resins. This negatively affects the moisture-resistant characteristics, and which in turn limits the options for placing such slopes in rooms with high humidity. A variety of PVC films are used as the "front surface", or natural wood veneer is used.

Advantages of MDF slopes:

  • Low cost compared to other slope finishes;
  • Sufficiently high resistance to mechanical stress;

Cons of MDF slopes:

  • Very low moisture resistance;

Wooden slopes made of glued panels and wood trim

To install this type of slopes, you will have to make no small efforts and certainly the installation should be carried out by a specialist. Before installation, you need to take into account several features: before installation, it is necessary to treat the wood with a special compound that will protect the tree from moisture. Depending on the type of wood, after installing the slope, it must be varnished in several layers.

  • Environmentally friendly finish;
  • Good resistance to physical stress;

Cons of Wooden Doors:

  • The high cost of this type of slope;

The window slope is part of the structural support of the window. Window slopes are located inside the frame part of the window, on top and on the sides. Similar components can be seen around doors, also known as " door jambs"or" door jamb ".

Technically, window slopes are internal and external, and are also divided into side slopes, which are located on the sides of the window, and an upper slope, which is located above the top of the window. Door frames do not necessarily include jambs, but they are always present when installing windows.

Why does a window need slopes?

The presence of slopes is often an inevitable necessity, and not a whim of a decorator:

1. First of all, slopes are part of outer wall a house that is much wider than the window frame.

2. Also quality repair slopes keep your home warm and prevent dew from forming, which can later become the cause of a dangerous fungus.

3. And third - finishing of slopes plays an important role in interior design. Beautifully designed slopes are like a frame for a picture. After all, windows perform not only the function of daylighting the room! The view from the window gives us an aesthetic pleasure when we observe the life of the city or admire the natural landscapes.

What are the slopes

The material used for window slopes can be different: plaster, wood, plastic, vinyl, metal. Window slopes can be painted in the color of the finish, wallpapered, or retain their natural texture, depending on the material used.

If your slopes:

  • look terrible after a recent window installation
  • have been repaired for a long time,
  • cracks and cracks appeared on them,
  • burned out finish
  • or paint has sprinkled

and you are thinking about solving these issues, we know how to fix it and avoid such problems in the future

Pay attention to the novelty in window decoration - glass or mirrored window slopes!

The slope is an integral part of any window. With its help, not only an attractive appearance of the window is provided, but also the access of cold and dampness to the room is limited.

Internal slopes are installed inside the premises, and external ones from the outside. Slopes should be installed on both sides, which will provide the window with a high level of wear resistance.

Which slopes are better?

Today there are many options for slopes that can be made on windows. This is due to the large number of materials on the construction market. The most common materials from which slopes are made are:

  • Sandwich panel;
  • Plastic panel;
  • Plaster; drywall;

Due to the high level of resistance to moisture, a fairly long service life of these panels is ensured.

Plasterboard slopes are installed according to the same principle as plastic slopes. Before installing the slopes, it is necessary to apply a special insulation to the wall, which will provide a high level of thermal insulation.
