How can you fertilize strawberries in the spring. How to properly feed strawberry bushes in spring to get a rich harvest

Every gardener is interested in getting a good harvest from his summer cottage. Especially when it comes to such a fragrant and useful berry like a strawberry. V juicy fruits contains a large number of vitamin C, folic acid and other important micronutrients. How to grow this wonderful berry in your garden and how to achieve excellent fruiting if there is no rich black soil on the site?

The first berries of early strawberries

Strawberries are quite a capricious berry that requires careful care, including timely and high-quality feeding. It is important not only to prepare the plant for winter, but also to properly organize its recovery after the cold season, since the quality and quantity of the future harvest depends on this.

Preparatory stage

After a long cold winter, all plants need nutrient deficiencies. Before choosing what to feed strawberries in spring, you need to spend preparatory work cleaning and processing.

It is important not to miss the moment of starting work! The optimal period is when the berry has not yet woken up. In April, when the snow melts and the first warm days are established, you can start cleaning the beds.

Cleaning

In early spring, after the bushes have completely thawed, the following steps should be taken:

  • Collect the non-rotten mulch, remove the top few centimeters of soil. This will prevent pests from waking up. Also, thanks to this, the roots will warm up better.
  • Clean the bushes from dead dry or frozen leaves.
  • Loosen the soil to a depth of about 5-7 cm, if necessary, weed out the first weeds that have appeared.
  • Straighten the sides of the beds.

Treatment

It is important to process the bushes before they start flowering!

There is no one-size-fits-all perfect for strawberries. Depending on the variety of berries, you can choose one of the following chemical solutions: Caesar or Taurus. For these purposes, it is also suitable copper sulfate... For those who prefer to use biological products Fitoverm or Acrophyte are suitable. Remember, biological products are effective at air temperatures above 18 C 0.

The first shoots on strawberry bushes after wintering

Burning last year's mulch, dry branches off-site, and choosing quality planting material will help reduce the risk of infection.

Organic fertilizers

Timely fertilization stimulates plant growth. Moreover, it is important to feed both the ground part of the plant and the roots of the strawberry. Organic fertilizers allow you to get an excellent harvest without harm to the plant and the soil. You can fertilize the ground only when the soil is well dried after the snow melts, and the bushes themselves have completely recovered after the cold weather and loosening.

The most effective and safest organic fertilizers

  • Humus

Completely decomposed cow dung contains a large amount of nutrients that are perfectly absorbed by the plant. With its help, it is recommended to mulch the soil.

  • Mullein or cow dung

The manure contains many minerals, but in order not to "burn out" young shoots, it is necessary to add this fertilizer in dosage, no more than one garden scoop under a bush. It is recommended to carry out such feeding as early as possible.

Chicken manure in its composition is very close to mineral fertilizers, so it is recommended to dilute it very strongly and use it no more than once a year. It is necessary to take 1 part of excrement and fill it with 20 parts of water, keep the resulting mixture in a plastic container in a warm place for about 3 days.

It is important to remember: watering with this fertilizer can only be between the rows, avoiding the root area.

Extract from wood ash perfect for fertilizing roots and foliar feeding. Thanks to the ash, the berries become sweeter, and their shelf life also increases. Ash must be scattered between rows with bushes, the optimal time for this procedure is the period before mulching and before rain.

Feeding strawberries with ash

  • Dairy products

Fermented whey is also an excellent source of nutrients for strawberries. It is the slightly acidic soil that will allow for good plant development and fruiting.

Whey can be used as an independent fertilizer, or together with ash, manure or humus.

  • Yeast

Regular baker's yeast is a great source of nutrients: they contain amino acids, minerals, proteins. Fertilization is done as follows: 200 g of yeast is diluted in half a liter warm water, and after 20 minutes to the resulting mixture add another 9 liters of water. This top dressing guarantees the growth and strengthening of the root system.

  • Weed infusion

The weeds collected after weeding can also be used as an absolutely harmless fertilizer. To do this, they should be crushed and filled with water, kept in a warm room for about 7 days. Then you can safely water the bushes with this infusion. Such an infusion of weed will increase the number of fruits and have a positive effect on the taste of the berries.

Mineral fertilizers for strawberries

Mineral fertilizers are used to prevent the development of various diseases, when plaque appears on the leaves, a white edge or visible wilting of young shoots. Also, top dressing allows you to improve the taste and get larger berries.

Nitrogen or potassium can be used as fertilizer, however, the best effect is achieved by using complex mineral fertilizers with the addition of phosphorus, magnesium and other trace elements. These products are sold in specialized stores.

Complex mineral fertilizers

Nitrogen

This valuable macronutrient stimulates the growth of green shoots and leaves, therefore it must be included in the first spring feeding of strawberries. Nitrogen is found in nitrate and urea. Top dressing allows you to achieve the following result:

  • improve the color of strawberries;
  • increase the size of each berry;
  • get a crop with high taste.

Nitrogen fertilizers dissolve well, therefore, for preparation liquid top dressing it is enough to dissolve a tablespoon of dry urea in a bucket of water. Strawberries should be watered at the root, at the rate of 0.5 liters of solution per 1 bush. Do not increase the indicated proportions, otherwise the berry will become tasteless.

Potassium

If the use of nitrogen for the growth of strawberries is undeniable, then many summer residents forget about the importance of feeding with potash fertilizers.

At the same time, it is she who allows:

  • increase the shelf life of the berries;
  • make strawberries more juicy and sweeter.

The appearance on the leaves of a brown tint is a clear sign of potassium deficiency. To replenish it, you can use:

  • potassium nitrate;
  • wood ash;
  • potassium chloride;
  • potassium sulfate.

Potash fertilizers are applied under the bush, exactly adhering to the dosage indicated on the package.

Complex mineral fertilizers

For spring feeding of strawberry bushes, ready-made mineral fertilizers are used, the composition of which is specially designed to increase the size and improve the taste of berries. In particular, it is allowed to apply:

  • Kemiru Lux;
  • Kemiru Universal;
  • Ryazanochka.

Kemira Lux is a water-soluble powder with a high concentration of macro- and microelements. The fertilizer contains nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium, iron, boron, copper, manganese, molybdenum and zinc. To prepare the solution, you need 1 tbsp. l. Dissolve the powder in 10 liters of water.

Kemira Universal, due to the addition of selenium, improves the taste of strawberries. It is this trace element that is responsible for the sugar content in berries. The basis of Kemira Universal is the NPK (nitroammofosk) complex, which allows to accelerate the growth and increase the yield of strawberries.

Ryazanochka contains nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium, zinc, manganese, cobalt, copper, magnesium, molybdenum, boron. Just 1 tsp. dry mixture on a bucket of water allows you to effective feeding bushes weakened after winter. You can use the diluted mixture for root watering, as well as for spraying leaves.

Combined fertilizers

Combined organo-mineral fertilizers (OMF) demonstrate excellent results in stimulating plant growth. By chemical composition they do not differ from organic ones, but they have a number of obvious advantages:

  • ease of preparation of a liquid solution;
  • saving time and effort of the summer resident;
  • you can easily calculate the proportions and apply fertilization.

There are several types of these dressings. First of all, fertilizers are on sale, which combine organic substances (biofermented chicken manure) with an NPK complex. They are produced in the form of granules that dissolve easily in water and provide adequate nutrition for strawberries. Used as the first spring top dressing, they guarantee the growth of the bush, as well as the timely setting and ripening of fruits.

Application of complex fertilizers

Another type of organo-mineral fertilizers is a product of high-tech peat processing, which contains a significant amount of physiologically active substances. Such dressings improve the quality of the soil, protect berry crops from pests and unfavorable factors external environment (strong wind, temperature difference, excess moisture).

The most valuable substances in the composition of WMD:

  • monovalent salts of humic acids (humates);
  • fulvic acids (fulvates);
  • nitrogen;
  • phosphorus;
  • potassium;
  • trace elements.

The use of organo-mineral fertilizers makes it possible to increase the yield by 20 - 100% and to obtain natural, environmentally friendly products.

Foliar feeding of strawberries

Foliar dressing is spraying strawberry bushes special formulations... This method of feeding ensures that nutrients are quickly absorbed into the leaves, but it can only be carried out in dry weather.

Foliar complex processing of strawberries

There are a number of rules to follow:

  1. Spraying is best done after watering the plants.
  2. Foliar feeding should be started with young, newly appeared leaves.
  3. A good result can be achieved if feeding is repeated during the flowering period.
  4. It is recommended to make a spray solution based on boric acid.

To prepare spring fertilizer, you can use one of the following recipes:

  • Mix 1 tsp. boric acid, 30 drops of iodine and 1 glass of ash. Dilute in 10 liters of water.
  • Make a mixture of ½ tsp. boric acid, ½ glass of ash, 3 g of potassium permanganate and st. l. urea in a 10-liter bucket of water.
  • Dilute milk whey with water at a rate of 1: 3.

Top dressing by age

Since when planting strawberries, organic, mineral or combined fertilizers are introduced into the grooves, in the first year the plants do not need additional feeding. The soil still contains enough nutrients for their growth, and excessive feeding is fraught with a deterioration in the basic taste of the berries.

  • 2nd year - mineral and organic fertilizers are applied;
  • 3rd year - only minerals are used;
  • 4th year - mineral and organic, etc.

Video: The first feeding of strawberries. Spring strawberry care

Fragrant, tasty and healthy strawberries are a favorite of children and adults. How to grow such a wonderful berry in your garden and get a good harvest?

Top dressing of young bushes planted last year can be skipped in the spring or done with the following solution: dissolve 0.5 liters of chicken manure or cow dung in a bucket of water and 1 tbsp. spoon of sodium sulfate. Water the plants with this mixture - 1 liter for each bush.

You can not overdo it with fertilizers (in the photo there are Victoria strawberry bushes)

Fertilizing adult strawberries

After 2-3 years, the soil in the beds becomes not fertile and the plant has nowhere to take useful substances. Therefore, in order to harvest a good harvest, you need to know when and how to feed strawberries. In the spring, feeding is done 3 times:

  • When the first 2-3 leaves appear
  • Before the color starts
  • During fruit formation

The first fertilization is applied in mid to late April, depending on the region. Organic fertilizers are ideal for such feeding: mullein or chicken droppings. They need to be scattered under the roots of the bushes, and a little earth should be put on top (about 2-3 cm). You can also make a liquid solution. Take a bucket of water and dissolve not 1 liter of manure. Water each bush with the resulting slurry (1 liter for a plant).

Ordinary yeast is an excellent fertilizer. They contain a large number of useful substances: amino acids, proteins, minerals. Feeding with yeast will ensure good growth and strengthening of the root system. It is necessary to dilute 200 g of live baker's yeast in 0.5 liters of warm water, let them stand for 20 minutes. Then pour the mixture into a container with 9 liters of water. Water each bush abundantly with this solution.

The second feeding should be done during the strawberry season. For this, it is better to take mineral fertilizers. They have a positive effect on the flavor and size of the berries. The strawberries will be large, beautiful and sweet.

Strawberry fruit on a bush

For feeding, you need to prepare a solution: 2 tbsp. tablespoons of nitrophosphate, 1 tbsp. a spoonful of potassium and 10 liters of water. With this solution, you need to water each bush under root system... Enough 0.5 l of the mixture for each plant.

Now there is a huge selection of mineral fertilizers that can be purchased in specialized stores. But they must be used strictly according to the instructions on the package. The wrong dosage will harm the plant.

A good remedy for the third feeding will be an infusion of weeds... After weeding, you need to collect the weeds, chop them up and fill them with water. Let it brew for about a week in a warm room, and then pour over the strawberries. Such feeding is absolutely harmless for both plants and people. But it will help increase the number of fruits and have a positive effect on taste... Weed fertilization will protect plants from some harmful insects. Excellent feeding is an infusion of nettle.

We would like to note that for correct feeding garden strawberry you need to know exactly how old the bushes are growing where. It is best if they are located in different beds, this will simplify maintenance. So, young plants can not be fed only when a sufficient amount of nutrients is laid during planting. In the second and fourth year of life, strawberries can be taken both organic and mineral mixtures... But three-year-old bushes will like mineral fertilizers more.

During the first season of the season, we recommend using mixtures with a high nitrogen content so that the bushes can gain green mass. You can trim at the same time. Then it will reduce the amount of stressful situations for your strawberry. Instead of manure, you can take a nitroammophoska.

You can also use ash. It is useful for plants primarily with a significant content of potassium and phosphorus, accelerates the decomposition of organic matter, and also helps in the fight against fungal diseases and root rot. You can put a small pile under each bush. In addition, when planting young annual plants, it is recommended to mix some ash into the soil.

One of essential elements feeding during flowering is potassium. Its lack may be indicated by the browning of the leaves. This is a symptom of a serious problem that can lead to crop loss. To make up for the lack of nutrients, we recommend using potassium nitrate. Usually it is diluted at the rate of one teaspoon per bucket of liquid. Pour about half a liter under each bush.

Foliar feeding of strawberries

With spring feeding, not only the root system is often fertilized, but also directly the bush itself, to obtain better harvest and a healthy plant.

Strawberries are sprayed with nitrogen-containing solutions or organic matter. Top dressing promotes good growth and enlargement of the ovary. When spraying, nutrients are absorbed directly into the foliage. It is necessary to carry out the procedure in dry and calm weather, in the evening.

Abundant fruiting

There are two types of mineral compositions of fertilizers: highly mobile and low mobile. The former, which include phosphorus, potassium, magnesium and nitrogen, are distinguished by their rapid absorption. They instantly enter the roots, buds and foliage. The second - this is iron, boron, copper and manganese, act more slowly.

Therefore, it is important to spray the plant with special care so that the nutrients get to the right place.

Which fertilizers to choose - mineral or organic?

Many gardeners have a question: what is the best way to feed strawberries in spring - organics or minerals?

Mineral mixtures are quite effective and give nice results... But they must be used correctly and with extreme care. The instructions should be followed and overdose should be avoided. This can have a detrimental effect not only on the harvest, but also on human health. Do not feed with minerals later than 12-14 days before the first fruits ripen.

Feeding with organic matter will not provide the ovary of very large berries. But on the other hand, it is safe for the human body. In addition, manure and chicken droppings can be applied in any amount. Plants will take from them as many nutrients as required, not more.

It is very good to saturate the soil with wood ash. It can be used for root nutrition, as well as foliar feeding. For this, an ash extract is used.

Post-harvest strawberry care

The fruiting period of strawberries is rather short. Plants stop bearing fruit in mid-July.

Garden strawberry harvest

And it is from the end of July to September that the foundation is laid for the next year's harvest. Therefore, during this period, strawberries also require proper care:

July and August is the time when plants begin to form new leaves, old leaves that have fulfilled their function die off. And also the intensive growth of the mustache begins. It is necessary to carefully cut off the old foliage, leaving only the young and the hearts. The mustache should also be trimmed.

After the beds are in order, the soil needs to be fed. It is good to use organic fertilizers - cow or horse manure... This will improve the soil structure and help the plants overwinter.

It is very important to remember to water the strawberries after harvesting. The soil must be protected from drying out. Water it abundantly, but not too often.

Regularly remove the mustache from the plants so that the bushes do not spend all their energy on forming new rosettes. Trimming the mustache promotes the formation of new buds.

If by autumn the bushes have healthy overgrown leaves, this will provide a good wintering and high yield for next year.

Get a good harvest of strawberries for summer cottage it is possible only if the technology of its cultivation is observed. Plants should be watered, weeded and hilled on time. Also, strawberries are supposed to be transplanted to a new place from time to time. And, of course, this crop should be fertilized periodically. In this article, we'll talk about how strawberries are fed after harvest, as well as in spring and summer.

What fertilizers to use

Strawberries respond well to absolutely any kind of fertilizer, both mineral and organic. Wood ash, for example, is considered very useful for this plant. It simply contains great amount a wide variety of trace elements. Sometimes strawberries are fed with purchased complex fertilizers. For example, the well-known nitroammophos. It includes everything necessary for good development strawberry substances: nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium. Sometimes plants are fed with urea. This fertilizer does not burn the leaves and is inexpensive. However, you should use it carefully. In case of an overdose, the plants will no longer set fruit.

The most commonly used organic fertilizers for strawberries are cow dung and poultry manure. These dressings experienced summer residents advise to use as carefully as possible. The fact is that they can contain weed seeds. Such organics are used both in dry form and in the form of tinctures. Mullein is prepared in a ratio of 1x10, solution of poultry droppings - 1x20.

There is one more answer to the question of what strawberries are fed with. You can use compost for these purposes. But only well rotted.

How many times per season do you need to feed

During the growing season, ordinary strawberries are fertilized at least three times. Young plants need feeding most of all during the growth period. Adult strawberries especially need nutrients during fruiting.

Top dressing in the first year

Fertilize strawberries, including the age of planting. For the first time, top dressing is applied under it in September - when preparing the beds. In this case, phosphorus fertilizers and organic matter are added to the soil in the area allocated for this berry. It is not recommended to use nitrogen fertilizers for this crop in the first year of growth. Otherwise, all the forces of the plant will be "thrown" on the development of leaves, and not berries. Not a bad answer to the question of what strawberries are fed for good harvest is a mixture next composition: 8-9 kg of humus, 80 g of superphosphate and 50 g of potassium salt. If used when planting next year, strawberries are not fertilized. But if desired, before fruiting, the bushes can be watered with a special mullein solution. For its preparation, take two glasses of manure and one tablespoon of ammonium. All this is stirred in a bucket of water and the garden is watered in the amount of one liter per bush.

Second year after planting: how to fertilize in spring

An excellent answer to the question of what strawberries are fed in spring are primarily nitrogen or complex formulations... This can be, for example, urea. It is bred in the amount of 1 tbsp. l. on a bucket of water and water the plants at the root. Very often, instead of urea, nitroammophoska is used in the same proportion.

Also, sometimes, to support the growth of green mass of plants, gardeners use organic matter: mullein or chicken droppings. They are used in the amount of half a liter of solution for each plant.

Summer feeding

Next, let's see how strawberries are fed during flowering and fruit set. During this period, plants require a lot of potassium. That's why the best view feeding for them will be wood ash. You can also use potash nitrate or bird droppings. Ash is brought into the aisles in the amount of one handful per bush. Often a solution is prepared from it. For this, a glass of ash is poured into hot water(1 liter). The resulting mixture is infused for a day and poured into a bucket filled with heated water. Top dressing is carried out at the rate of 1 liter per bush.

Potassium nitrate is used in an amount of 100 g per 10 m 2. Poultry droppings are bred as standard. They should be watered strictly at the root.

How to feed strawberries in autumn

After harvest, the plants also need to be fertilized. Most often, ash is used at this time in the same proportions as in summer. You can add a little nitroammofoska to its solution - 2 tbsp. l.

An excellent answer to the question of what strawberries are fed in autumn is also urea. The use of this fertilizer promotes the establishment of new flower buds. Manure or compost can be used as mulch for strawberries before winter.

What you need to know

Thus, we have figured out how strawberries are fed after harvest, in spring and summer. The technology described above is considered standard. Thus, they feed strawberries planted on nutrient garden soils... However, many plots are located in areas with land that is not very suitable for growing garden crops. In this case, the plants just need to be followed. If the leaves of a strawberry suddenly turn pale, and it begins to bear fruit with very small berries, it means that it does not have enough nitrogen. That is, it should be fed with manure or urea.

If the strawberries are too acidic, some potassium fertilizer should be applied under the bushes. This can be, for example, wood ash or chicken droppings. If the leaves of the strawberry have acquired a reddish-brown hue, and its growth has slowed down, it is worth using phosphorus compounds.

How to fertilize correctly

So, you now know what strawberries are fed with. Next, let's see how to do it right. When performing an operation such as feeding strawberries, be sure to consider the fact that:

  • Fertilizer can only be applied to clean beds. That is, the planting should be cleaned of debris and all withered leaves should be cut off from the plants.
  • You cannot use any chloride fertilizers for feeding strawberries.
  • Lime the acidic soil under this crop is allowed only in the fall.
  • You can feed strawberries whenever you want. However, this should not be done more than once during the flowering period.
  • Urea, nitrophoska, etc. is what strawberries are most often fed with. Fertilizers are relatively environmentally friendly. However, their dosages should be observed exactly.
  • Chicken droppings should only be used in solution. When covered with dry, plants may stop bearing fruit.

Nettle infusion

The fertilizers described above are what strawberries are most often fed with. However, you can use for this garden culture and other means. For example, recently many owners summer cottages they prefer to use this type of feeding for strawberries, such as nettle infusion. Prepare it as follows:

  • a bucket of chopped and mashed nettle is poured with heated water,
  • leave the solution to infuse for several days,
  • strain out the liquid.

The resulting infusion is used to treat plants for the first time in spring - when a bush is formed. It is also used to feed plants in the fall. As a result of the application of the infusion of nettle, very large and juicy berries grow on the bushes.

Thus, we have figured out how strawberries are fed after harvest, during flowering and fruiting. The use of all the fertilizers described above can significantly increase the yield of this crop. You can use any of them. The most important thing is to observe the dosage and application time.

Content

Sweet and juicy strawberries are the weakness of many. It is tasty and healthy. Its cultivation is possible on different soils. For good fruit development, it must be fed. For this purpose, fertilizers for strawberries are widely used, contributing to the activation of growth. berry culture and its active fruiting. Find out in what proportions, when and how to use the food for her.

When to fertilize strawberries

You can prepare for the new gardening season during the last snow melting period. When fertilizer is applied on time, new buds form faster. Not every garden or vegetable garden has fertile soil. If the soil has not been fertilized for a long time and is already depleted, you can not even dream of a rich harvest. Regular feeding is necessary for both the soil and the bushes themselves. At the same time, special care is required for processing remontant varieties berries. They are more susceptible to feeding than other species. For this reason, they are fertilized at weekly intervals.

Feeding stages

The fertilizer is used in three stages: after winter at the beginning of the gardening season, during the fruiting period and in autumn. For the first time, strawberries are fed in order to timely stimulate the growth of young shoots and first leaves. The procedure is carried out in late April - early May. Re-processing is done in July. The second feeding of strawberries promotes the formation of new roots and buds. The first fruits will be in July. Fertilized for the third time in mid-September. Recharge during this period is necessary to prepare the culture for wintering.

How to feed strawberries

Fertilizers for berry crops are mineral, organic and complex. Synthetic substances developed in laboratories are called mineral fertilizers. The greatest demand among them is for urea, saltpeter, sulfates, diammophos. They contain micro- and macroelements (nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium, copper, zinc, molybdenum, cobalt, manganese). There are many enterprises engaged in the production of mineral fertilizers (Gumi-Omi, Agricole, Fertika, Akron, KhimAgroProm).

Organic fertilizers for strawberries are substances natural origin... These include:

  • chicken droppings;
  • humus;
  • wood ash;
  • ash;
  • spoiled milk;
  • yeast;
  • manure;
  • humus;
  • weeds.

It should be understood that the use of organics will not bear large fruits, but they are absolutely harmless to people. In addition, the introduction of such natural fertilizers does not require restrictions in proportions: they can be used to feed the plant in any quantity. The fruit crop will absorb as many nutrients as it needs.

Complex fertilizers are designed to combine the action of mineral and organic matter... Produced ready-made options, including potassium, phosphorus, nitrogen, magnesium ("Berry ovary for strawberries", "Ryazanochka", etc.). Among the wide variety of drugs of this type produced today, preference should be given to those in which there is more nitrogen in percentage than all other components.

Organic fertilizers

Replenishment with substances of natural origin helps to get a rich harvest without harm to human health, plants and soil. In addition, the use of organic matter will cost much less than the purchase of mineral or complex preparations. Each of the varieties of natural feeding has its own characteristics and advantages.

Manure (cow) is a mixture of straw, hay and animal excrement. It has long been used as a top dressing for soil and various crops (potatoes, tomatoes, cucumbers, etc.). Manure as fertilizer for strawberries is the best option top dressing in the spring before the beginning of flowering of the plant. Prepare as follows: dilute 2 cups of manure for 10 liters of water and add 1 tablespoon of sodium sulfate. All components are mixed until smooth. This liquid is poured over the area under each bush (1 liter each).

Benefits of using cow dung:

  • availability and low cost;
  • high efficiency;
  • saturation of the earth and berry crops with necessary trace elements and other useful substances;
  • decrease in acidity clay soil under the influence of manure.

Humus is completely decomposed manure. He is considered the most the best feeding in the spring. Humus is used at the rate of 5 kg per 1 square meter the area of the beds. It can be used during planting for subsequent crop care. To obtain humus, you should shift the manure with weeds. Strawberry fertilizer will be ready in 7 months. The benefits of humus are:

  • saturation of plants with useful substances with microelements in an easily assimilated form for them;
  • positive impact on the soil - soil saturated with humus creates a favorable environment for quick and correct development berry culture;
  • long-term feeding effect - humus feeds the plant and the soil throughout the year.

Chicken droppings are applied as nitrogen fertilizer... It is prepared as follows: 20 parts of water are taken for one part of poultry organics. The resulting solution is infused for 3 days and watered with 0.5 l of the mixture under each berry bush. Chicken manure is widely used among gardeners and gardeners due to its availability and effective impact on the growth and development of the berry.

Sour milk (sourdough) is an excellent top dressing. This fact is confirmed by the statement experienced gardeners that weakly acidic soil has a beneficial effect on productivity. To normalize the acidity level of the earth, you can add sour milk to it. Its difference from other organic matter is the method of application: feeding is not poured under the root, but a little further from it (about 7-10 cm from the bush), or the spraying method is used.

Fertilizer for strawberries is prepared as follows: the product is mixed with water in a 1: 2 ratio. Plants are fed at the beginning of the summer cottage season, then after harvesting and in the fall. Benefits of using fermented milk products:

  • enrichment open ground a storehouse of useful substances and microelements (sulfur, calcium, etc.);
  • a significant increase in productivity and fruiting times;
  • fast growth plants;
  • the rise protective forces berry culture against pests and diseases.

Yeast

An affordable and convenient fertilizer for preparation is ordinary yeast. This iodized product is beneficial for the plant. A solution for feeding can be prepared as follows: 1 kg of yeast is diluted in 5 liters of water. The resulting concentration should be diluted again with water before use. For 0.5 liters of yeast solution, 10 liters of water are needed. After re-preparing the mixture, it is necessary to process the plant. For 10 bushes, 0.5 liters of solution will go. They pour it right under the bushes.

If you have only dry yeast in bags at hand, then the solution is prepared as follows: one bag of product and two tablespoons of sugar are taken for one bucket of water. To begin with, the yeast is diluted in a glass of warm water, then granulated sugar is added to the solution and stirred until it is completely dissolved. After that, the contents of the glass are poured into a bucket of water. Let it brew for 2 hours. After this time, the nutrient solution is ready for use. The advantages of using yeast include:

  • valuable composition of the product (iodine, iron, phosphorus, nitrogen, etc.);
  • stimulating the growth of culture;
  • a significant increase in plant productivity;
  • strengthening the roots;
  • a positive effect on the condition of the soil due to its saturation with beneficial microorganisms;
  • increasing the adaptation of plants to new conditions after transplantation and resistance to diseases.

It is desirable to feed the berry with yeast 2-3 times during the summer cottage period. The product is used at the beginning of the season, again - during the flowering period and after harvest. With all its advantages, it also has disadvantages. It can only be used in warm weather. In cool weather, fermentation does not occur and the process stops.

Ash

Wood ash contains a significant amount of useful trace elements. This folk remedy rich in potassium, phosphorus, sulfur, iron and many others nutrients necessary for the growth and development of plants. To use it, dry ash must be introduced into the grooves of the beds. Powder should be poured at the rate of 150 g per 1 running meter... To enhance the effect, it is advisable to mix ash with peat. This fertilizer has one drawback: ash cannot be used with urea. The advantages of using wood ash are:

  • availability;
  • stimulation of the growth of berry culture;
  • saturation of the soil with nutrients and improvement of its structure;
  • increased productivity;
  • improving the taste of the fruit.

Mineral fertilizers for strawberries

The taste and appearance of strawberries only benefit from the use of mineral fertilizers. The berries grow large, bright, sweet and juicy. The use of mineral requires caution and strict adherence to proportions. Excessive doses can harm not only the plant, but also human health. The deadline for the introduction of mineral fertilizing is 2 weeks before the ripening of the plant's fruits.

Ammophoska and ammonium nitrate

Strawberries are "fed" in the second year after planting with ammonium nitrate at the rate of 100 g per 10 square meters. This fertilizer is considered the most effective. True, in cases where a lot of organic feeding was introduced into the soil before planting the plant, ammonium is not needed. If strawberries are planted for the third year in a row, then 10 g of superphosphate, 150 g of ammonium nitrate and 100 g of potassium chloride must be introduced into the soil.

This amount of fertilizer will be needed for 10 square meters. useful area... The prepared solution is poured under the bushes. The plant itself does not need to be watered. Usually, the soil is fertilized with half of the dressings in the spring, and the rest is introduced after harvesting. It is forbidden to increase the dose of nitrate. It is loaded with nitrogen and overuse can lead to sugar loss. The berry will be watery and tasteless. In the spring, you can use ammonium nitrate in combination with ammophos in a 1: 2 ratio. Water the product at the rate of 15 g per 1 sq. M. in a liquid solution with water.

Any mineral substance has its own advantages and disadvantages. The vast majority of synthetic dressings are dangerous when used in large proportions. Nitroammofosk (azofosk) is no exception. It should be used in the correct doses. So, during the period of planting strawberries, two tablespoons of granules of this drug should be poured into each square meter. In cases where the plant is re-planted, nitroammophoska is used immediately after harvesting. Prepare the solution as follows: add 1 tablespoon of top dressing to 10 liters of water.

It should be remembered that, with its effectiveness, nitroammofosk is considered one of the dangerous drugs. This synthetic substance should not be used uncontrollably, as this approach can lead to the formation of nitrates in the soil. Fertilizer belongs to the third level of danger: it is highly flammable. The granules of the agent are capable of exploding. One should not forget about the insignificant shelf life of nitroammophoska.

Complex fertilizer "Ryazanochka"

Ready-made feeding for strawberries "Ryazanochka" is very popular among gardeners. It contains micro- and macroelements (nitrogen, manganese, phosphorus, zinc, copper, potassium, boron, molybdenum, cobalt). For root feeding, a solution should be prepared at the rate of 1 teaspoon of Ryazanochka (4 g) per 10 liters of water. The plant must be fed in the morning and evening.

The finished product is consumed depending on the period of development of the berry culture. So, at the beginning of the vegetative development of strawberries, the solution is watered at the rate of 5 liters per 2-3 sq.m. area. During budding, at the beginning of flowering and active fruiting of the berry, 10 liters of the product are spent on the same area. The last time the plant is “fed” 2–3 weeks before harvesting.

"Ryazanochka" can also be used by the foliar method. Only in this case, the solution is prepared differently: ½ teaspoon (2 g) is added to 10 liters of water. The resulting product is sprayed with berry crops in the morning and evening in cloudy, but not rainy weather twice during the summer season. The advantages of "Ryazanochka" include the following properties:

  • a positive effect on the taste and external qualities of the fruit;
  • increasing the yield of berry crops through the use of complex feeding;
  • beneficial effect on disease resistance of the berry.

Features of feeding in spring

Fertilizing strawberries in the spring is a must. The further development of the plant and the result of the harvest largely depend on how correctly this procedure is carried out. It is important to know the scheme for feeding a berry culture, and that feeding young strawberries in the spring is different from feeding its adult "relatives".

How to fertilize young plants correctly

Fertilize young strawberries planted in autumn in early spring there is no urgent need. If you wish, you can give her additional nutrition, and for this you need to prepare the following solution: add 0.5 liters of manure or poultry droppings, 1 tablespoon of sodium sulfate to 10 liters of water. The resulting mixture is poured under each strawberry bush, 1 liter, no more.
