Before installing the pump station, it is necessary to properly prepare the base. When mining the soil in a mechanized way, with the help of an excavator, the pit should not be slightly modified to the design mark in order not to violate the natural integrity of the soil. The completion of the soil to the design mark must be carried out manually, avoiding digging, so that concrete base under the pump station it was mounted on the mainland soil.
Procedure
- It is necessary to clean the surface of the bottom of the pit from foreign objects.
- At the bottom of the pit, along the entire perimeter, a sand cushion 200 mm high is made with watering and tamping. According to the developed drawings, the formwork is assembled for reinforced concrete base... In the formwork, several layers of mesh are mounted, made of reinforcement of different diameters and different mesh spacing (as a rule, the mesh is made with a step of 100x100 mm from reinforcement Ø 10-12 mm, in 2-3 layers depending on the height of the concrete base and the size of this base). The dimensions of the bases for the sewage pumping station are developed by design organizations, depending on the size of the sewer pumping stations, soil composition at the site of installation of the pump station and the presence groundwater at the installation site. Next, the formwork is poured with concrete and allowed to settle. In various cases, use various brands concrete. In dry soils, M150 grades are used, and in moisture-saturated soils, moisture-resistant grades are hydraulic concrete M200, M 250 Concrete works must be carried out in accordance with all the rules of concrete work technology.
- After the concrete gains strength, the installation of the pump station body begins. Before mounting the KNS body on the base, clean the surface from foreign objects.
- When lowering the body into the pit, distribute the load from the body weight evenly over all mounting hinges.
- The plastic case must be mounted strictly in the design position. After the body has been installed at the design level, you need to make sure that it is not damaged and is installed strictly along the design axes. Check the verticality of the cabinet. If the foundation is horizontal, the pump station will stand vertically.
- After installing the pump station on a concrete base, holes (8-12 pieces, depending on the diameter of the station) with a diameter of 12-16 mm, 18-22 mm long) are drilled in the skirt of the pumping station along the entire perimeter for the installation of anchor bolts. After that, the bolts are inserted into the holes, hammered and tightened.
- At high level groundwater, in addition to fixing the pump station with anchor bolts, to the concrete base, the lower part of the pump station must be poured with concrete about 0.5-0.8 m. The calculation of the weight of concrete is carried out in the scope of a working project or a project for the production of works.
- After fixing the pump station to the concrete base, backfilling with sand is carried out, layer by layer with tamping and watering to the level of the supply and pressure collectors. Before backfilling, make sure that the SPS casing is not damaged. After installing the pump station on the base and checking its verticality, start backfilling. (Sandy backfill serves as a gasket between the pump station body and untouched soil and serves to protect the pump station from ground movements).
- Then the pipes of the incoming manifold are connected and the pipes of the pressure branch are connected. The soil is compacted under the supply and pressure manifolds.
- Then backfilling with sand is carried out in layers, up to the ground level with layer-by-layer compaction, evenly over the entire diameter of the pump station. Failure to comply with these conditions may result in deformation of the body or neck.
- Then the pumps are installed in the pump station housing. Lowering the pumps along the guides in the pump station can be done manually (if the pumps are lightweight) or using lifting devices such as hoists or cranes (if the pumps are heavy).
- Then it is mounted. The pump control cabinet, according to the project, can be placed on the pump station body in a special metal box (protection against vandals), near the pump station in a metal box or in any room located in the vicinity of the pump station. It is easier and cheaper for all to place the pump control panel on the pump station housing. At our production site, we have developed platforms with sealed inputs to the pump station, for the installation of metal boxes inside which there are pump control cabinets. Electric cables from the pumps in the standard have a length of 10 meters and if the pump control cabinet is located not near the pump station, then it is necessary to buy an imported, expensive cable for extension, which increases the cost of installing the pump station.
- The next step is to connect the central cable to the pump control panel. The cable is selected depending on the power of the pumps and according to the project for the installation of the pump station.
- Then, suspended floats are suspended inside the pump station for the operation of the pumps.
At the final stage of installation of the pump station, cables from pumps, from floats, from overflow sensors, etc. are connected. to the pump control panel and commissioning of the pump station is done.

- A pit is being dug, in size exceeding the dimensions of the SPS structure. This is necessary for convenient connection of the rest of the pipeline and power supply.
- In order not to dig up the soil, the very bottom of the hole is dug manually.
- According to the drawing, the formwork is being built: a cushion of sand (10-15 cm) is made, reinforcement is installed and concrete is poured in several layers, using a level in order to make the foundation as horizontal as possible.
- Only after the reinforced concrete structure has completely hardened, the body is attached to it, taking into account that when installing the KNS, the deviation from verticality is permissible within 5 mm.
- Make sure there is no debris or water inside the tank.
The water must be pumped out, not poured out, overturning the body.
- With the possible appearance of groundwater, the structure is fastened with anchor bolts, or even poured from above with ready-mixed concrete so that the top of the concrete plane exceeds the lower stiffening rib of the equipment by 200 mm.
- After all the manipulations, backfilling is performed up to two collectors: pressure and gravity.
- Then the power supply and the pipeline are brought in.
Backfilling is carried out evenly along the circumference of the pump station, sifting out stones and tamping layers of 50 cm, at a positive temperature, by pouring water. V winter time keep in mind that the soil must not freeze through.

Sewage pumping station (SPS) is a set of equipment and tanks for pumping waste water. The need to install such a station arises in cases where the transportation of wastewater by gravity is impossible for some reason. This is where she becomes irreplaceable assistant... Design and internal structure of the pump station
When choosing a sewage pumping station, the estimated volumes of wastewater, the size of the device, the degree of pollution of the wastewater and the type of pollution are taken into account. The choice is also influenced by the features of the relief of the land plot on which the station is installed, and the depth at which the conducting pipeline is laid.
SPS device for different purposes may vary significantly, but the main parts of the design - sealed containers and pumps - are present in all models. Usually, water is drained into the reservoir by gravity, after which it is pumped out by pumps and transported to the disposal site or to the treatment plant. There are mini-KNS that are connected directly to the toilet bowls. These are aesthetically pleasing sealed tanks of small volume, equipped with pumps with a grinder. Such models of KNS are usually installed in the bathroom.
As a rule, the SPS tank is a polymer tank buried in the ground. The neck of the tank is brought to the surface to facilitate routine inspection, repair and maintenance of the station. It is closed with a polymer or steel cover. Inside the tank there is a pipeline connected through branch pipes in the walls. The uniformity of water inflow is ensured by the baffle, and the absence of flow eddies is ensured by the water wall.
Sewage stations used for domestic purposes are equipped with 1-2 pumps. If the equipment is intended for the drainage of wastewater from utilities, there must be at least two pumps. Pumps are installed at the pump station for various purposes different types... For domestic stations it is better to use pumps with a cutting mechanism, for communal stations it is not recommended, since solid waste, falling into the sewer, can cause damage to the cutting mechanism.

Requirements for the sewage pumping station, features of the installation and arrangement of the sanitary zone, required amount pipelines are regulated by SNiP 2.04.01-85 " Internal water supply and sewerage of buildings ”.
The principle of operation of the sewer station
Regardless of the type of SPS, the principle of operation of all systems is the same. The drains are discharged into the receiving part, which, due to the dense laying of water, do not seep into the ground, and under pressure are forcibly pumped by pumps into the pressure pipeline. Further wastewater enter the distribution chamber and are transported through pipes to sewage treatment plant... To prevent the drains from returning back to the pump pipeline, a check valve... If the volume of wastewater rises significantly, an additional pump is switched on. If the pumps cannot cope with the volume of waste water, an alarm is triggered.
The work of the pump station is controlled automatically. Control over the level of incoming waste is carried out using float sensors located at different levels, due to which the station operates in the following mode:
- The first level sensors indicate a small volume of waste water, the pumps are not working.
- The second-level sensors turn on the pump for pumping the accumulated waste. The volume of effluent is within normal limits.
- Sensors of the third level are triggered with an increased volume of water and turn on a reserve pump to pump out excess wastewater.
- Level 4 sensors trigger an alarm because the sewage pumping devices cannot cope with their volume. In this case, the maintenance team must take measures to normalize the operation of the pump station, since the alarm can turn on as a result of a breakdown of one of the pumps. To simplify maintenance, the sewage pumping stations are equipped with a hatch and a ladder.
When the pumping of waste is completed, the level of the effluent falls below the first sensor, the system shuts down. The next time it is turned on, another pump is activated, which previously performed the function of an additional one. Such a system of work prevents premature wear of the mechanisms of one pump.
Additional equipment that can be completed with a sewage pumping station:
- Backup power supply;
- Pressure sensors, manometers, valves;
- A metal pavilion that ensures the safety of the system and the safety of equipment;
- Equipment for cleaning pumps, connecting pipes.
The work of the station is fully automated, however, if necessary, it can be switched to manual control mode. Such a need usually arises during repairs, the need to clean the tank, or when a new SPS is put into operation.

- submersible;
- console;
- self-priming.
A submersible sewage pump is a pressure-acting device that is constantly submerged. Materials for the manufacture of such a pump are selected to be resistant to aggressive media.
Most often, submersible fecal pumps are used in the sewage pumping station. They are efficient, easy to operate
The device is convenient and takes up relatively little space, since it is constantly immersed; there is no need to prepare a separate site for it and additional pipe junction. The advantages of this type of pump:
- reliability;
- ease of use;
- rare maintenance;
- the ability to work effectively at low temperatures;
- cooling by the surrounding and flowing liquid;
- versatility: pumps are also used for dry installation.
A cantilever dry-installed sewage pump is a device most often used in large industrial sewage pumping stations. These pumps are not installed in modular stations. When installing them, it is necessary to prepare a separate foundation and correctly bring the pipes.

The dry-installed self-priming sewage pump is a unit used in municipal and industrial sewage pumping stations for pumping highly contaminated wastewater.

Installation and maintenance of equipment
To install the SPS, a pit is dug, the depth of which is calculated in such a way that the tank lid protrudes 1 m above the earth's surface. sand pillow 1.5 m. Next, a reservoir is installed in the pit, pipelines are connected, after which the pit is filled with sand and compacted layer by layer. The density of the soil must correspond to 90% natural.
Then the pumps are installed in the tanks, the floats are regulated. The floats of the first level should be 0.15-0.3 m above the bottom of the tank. The next floats are set 1.5 m higher than the previous ones. Next, they mount electrical cables, connect the power supply, equip grounding. When checking the operation of the system and pump performance, use clean water from the water supply or cistern.

Service of the sewage pumping station is carried out in the following order:
- Visual inspection of the condition shut-off valves, pumps, check indicators of the control panel. If there are indications of abnormal pump operation, extraneous noise or vibration, the unit is removed from the container, inspected, washed and checked.
- Cleaning of the pumps and the station body is carried out clean water from a hose using brushes without using detergents... When cleaning, it is important not to allow water under pressure to enter the control panel, pressure gauges.
- Dismantling of pumps for inspection, subsequent installation. When installing the units, ensure that they are attached to the automatic pipe coupling.
- Maintenance includes checking the condition and cleaning the coarse debris trap.
- Routine repairs include replacing worn parts, tightening fasteners with wrenches.
When repairing the sewage pumping station, the maintenance personnel must adhere to safety rules and use protective measures. Dismantling of the pumps should be carried out only after the unit has completely cooled down; disconnect it from the system and relieve pressure.
