Cashing windows with siding detailed instructions. External slopes from siding: how to make

Decorating a building with siding is one of the quickest and most reliable options. The advantages of this solution are the speed of installation work and the possibility of simultaneous insulation of the facade of the house.

Although technologically the process of such finishing is not complicated in itself, difficulties arise if it is necessary to improve the window and door openings. Not surprisingly, window siding trims require clarification and step-by-step description installation work.

Required set of tools

In order to secure the siding, you need a standard set of tools. It includes:

  • Hammer
  • Hacksaw for metal. Needed for precise sawing of a workpiece material
  • Angle grinder
  • Metal scissors
  • Gon
  • Screwdriver
  • Roulette
  • Level
  • Puncher

In addition to the listed tools, you may need a plumb line and a water level. Standard set the tools are identical to those used when using plastic finishing materials.

Siding window finishing tools

What material do you need?

In order to carry out finishing around window openings you will need special accessories and galvanized profiles. Namely:

  • Siding strips
  • External and inner corner
  • J - profile
  • Metal profile or wooden planks
  • Self-tapping screws and dowels

If euro windows are installed in the house, then installation of ebbs under the windows and visors is not required. If not, then you need to purchase these components as well.

It is advisable to choose fixing accessories that match the color and texture to the cladding panels. Or, if this is conceived by the design concept, the hardware may contrast with the color of the main trim.

Preparation for installation work

Making slopes is a painstaking work that will require accuracy and precision from the master.

In order for the final result of the work to please, it is necessary to create all conditions for safe and comfortable work. To do this, you need to provide the following:

  1. Install desktop. Cutting the material on the knee, stool, canopy will definitely lead to chips and defects. Some use for these purposes circular saw... It makes a perfectly straight cut, and also makes it possible to cut the workpiece at an angle.
  2. Prepare all the necessary tools. Everything should be at hand. Practice shows that frequent interruptions of the workflow for search the necessary tool affects the quality of the result and the speed of editing
  3. Install window sills. This will allow you to accurately calculate the length of the last strip that fits the window. The distance between it and the ebb should be minimal.

Important! Some siding manufacturers also produce all the necessary fittings for making slopes. So from them you can additionally purchase special ebb tides that will match the tone of the building.

Siding of windows

Siding is attached to the pre-fabricated grill. This happens in the following sequence:

  1. The starting strip is fixed on the window openings
  2. Fixed outer corner which usually has a double-sided notch
  3. Internal corners are installed at the joints of the abutment between the stripes in the window opening
  4. Carried out around the window
It is worth noting that the siding that you have chosen is laid around the window. If you have chosen metal siding, then you need to install it. is no different from the installation of any other. The installation scheme is identical.

If you want to give the house a more aesthetic look, we recommend that you carry out the installation of basement siding with your own hands. reviewed step-by-step instruction its installation.

The installation process itself is quite simple, of course, provided that the lathing for it is made correctly.

How to make a crate for siding?

The lathing is a row vertical bars made of wood or metal, fixed vertically on outer walls building. The outer edges of these beams form a "virtual" contour.

The main function of the lathing- support for securing the siding panels. And the smoother this support is, the more presentable the wall sheathed with siding will look like.

The main difficulty that a master performing this work has to face is the need to strictly observe angles, as well as horizontal and vertical level... To do this, markup is initially performed, then the rest are carried out assembly work... They do it as follows:

  1. Determine the right angle at the bottom of the window opening
  2. Establish the starting profile according to the marks made
  3. Starting from bottom sizes do the rest of the markup
  4. In the corners of the opening, it is necessary to make a kind of corner from the profile. To do this, you can attach the UD and CD profile to each other. Then the inner corner of the siding will lie on this blank.

It should be noted that the installation of siding without the use of lathing is a gross violation of the technological process. The only exceptions are openings with a width of less than 19 cm.

Finishing the window with siding on the crate

If all angles and levels are observed, installation is not difficult. You just need to sheathe the finished window opening with finishing material. Difficulties arise only when you need to make slopes around arched windows... How do you accomplish this task?

Varieties of the outer corner of the J-profile

J-profile is a versatile profile used for edging door and window openings.

Sometimes a J-profile is used instead of a start and finish bar.

Depending on the area of the window or doorways and their depths, you may need to use a different J-profile. They are of the following type:

  • Double. Placed on the corner. Has two recesses for fastening on each side. Used for deep window openings
  • Single. This profile is recommended for use in those houses where the depth of the slopes is less than 19 cm.
  • Flexible. Such an outer corner of the J-profile is also called arched. It allows you to ensure a reliable abutment to semicircular and round window openings

Siding arched windows

Installation begins with securing the arched profile. It is fixed quite rigidly with a maximum step of 15 cm. The fasteners are hammered completely through vinyl siding.

At the junction with the longitudinal strip, special recesses are cut out, which, after joining, are fastened with nylon rivets.

Such fasteners are made so that the trimming does not come off over time and does not lose its original shape. The rest of the installation is done in the usual way.

What should be considered when installing siding around a window?

Siding is a so-called ventilated facade. Its specificity is that under it the house continues to breathe. It leaves its mark on technological process installation.

  • The fastening of the starting strip and the corner must be carried out without twisting the dowel to the end. Only the arched profile is fixed by the rigid method
  • It is only necessary to cut the workpieces on a special table. It is recommended to use a circular saw
  • For deep slopes, lathing is required

Some features apply only to openings with a shallow depth.

What if the slope is less than 19 centimeters?

For the manufacture of such slopes, you do not need to make a crate. It will be enough to secure the outer corner of the J-profile and the starter strip and insert a siding bar between them. This usually gives a rigid mount and does not require additional crate fabrication.

Windows without slopes

For such structures, there is a special one-sided corner. Usually, its width is quite enough for arranging slopes. It is sewn onto a metal profile that is installed around the entire perimeter of the window.

Construction for arched or lancet windows

In such a situation, a special flexible arched corner is used for finishing. It requires rigid fixation with a step of 10-15 cm. The rest of the installation is carried out in a manner similar to the cladding of the walls of a building.

  • The last siding strip under the eaves should be mounted only after fixing the finishing profile
  • It is necessary to leave a gap of a few millimeters between the corner profile and the ebb. This will take into account possible expansion when changing the temperature regime.

Installation of siding, especially window and doorways, requires a professional approach. Manufacturers provide all the necessary fittings for the work to be done as quickly and efficiently as possible.

Siding window trim video

We bring to your attention several videos that talk about the installation of window openings with siding.

It is quite simple to sheathe a house with siding on your own. For such work, you do not need to master special skills. It is necessary to carefully prepare in advance. The quality of the result depends on how much thought out all the subtleties of the process. The work includes not only the installation of panels, but also cladding basement floor and windows. That is why a beginner, when it is necessary to perform such work, often falls into a dead end. To understand the cladding process, you will need to familiarize yourself with the step-by-step instructions for decorating the window with siding with your own hands.

Ways of finishing openings

While creating attractive finishes window great value is of type installed window... It depends on him what technology will be chosen for the installation of siding panels. There are several types of installing double-glazed windows:

In each of these cases, finishing is done before fixing. wall panels, which will be located around the window. In this case, the edges of these elements simply need to be inserted into the groove on the edge of the profile. When finishing after installing the panels, the work will cause certain difficulties.

Installation technology is common for all siding panels. The screws should be tightened in the center of the holes for the fasteners. In this case, a gap of 1 mm should be left for cases when thermal expansion will occur. So the panels will move freely without deforming. If you follow this rule, it will be much easier to install siding panels on the window.

The features of finishing the window with siding can be found in the video:

Attention! According to the instructions, during installation, you can fix the elements in arbitrary places.

The lathing bars must be fixed around the perimeter of the window. Small planks are installed on the slope. This will make it easier to install the finishing profile. The bars must be the same size. This will make the surface of the wall smoother. All work is carried out with a level.

Preparatory stage

A high-quality window finish from the outside requires a certain amount of preparation. Such jobs include:

  • removal of decorative elements;
  • cleaning the surface from old plaster;
  • elimination of old wooden parts;
  • dismantling of communications.

In addition, are removed and technical devices and accessories - antennas and air conditioners. The surface is cleaned and dried. This preparation is best done if you plan to clad the entire facade of the building.

Frame installation

When deciding to finish a window opening with siding, it is worth considering that before such work, a crate should be performed. You will need it for the following reasons:

  • so that the material is securely fixed;
  • cladding will be much easier;
  • to level the surface of the wall.

To complete the lathing, the following options are suitable:

  • a wooden bar with a cross section of 4x6 cm.
  • metallic profile.

Advice! Using timber before starting the cladding, it is necessary to process the elements antiseptic... This will help prevent wood from rotting and damage by insects.

The frame parts are fixed at a distance of 20 cm from each other. This step is optimal. If it is more or less, the strength or aesthetics of the structure will decrease.

Warming

Finishing windows during the installation of siding involves the creation of an insulating layer that will protect the window frame and the room behind it from the effects of cold. Warming is best done polystyrene foam plates... It is attached to dowels with wide caps.

Advice! To protect the insulation from moisture, lay a film on top.

Since during installation window frame not to avoid the appearance of cracks, it is necessary to prepare the sealant in advance. Thanks to the use of this material, it is possible to increase the hydro- and thermal insulation properties designs as a whole.

Window finishing technology

For each of these cases, the actions may have a different order. Separately, you should familiarize yourself with the finish of windows without slopes. Siding in this case includes the use of special platbands.

Advice! For greater reliability, the elements are sealed with a sealant.

Panels are trimmed at the top and bottom of the window structure. The slot should be slightly narrower than the width of the window strip. You can learn more about the technology of cladding window structures with siding from the video:

Recessed structures

Window trims are great in cases where the window is not very deeply recessed into the wall. Thanks to the use of planks, the slopes are closed.

Then the window strip is placed in the hole of the finishing profile. When joining the planks on the vertical elements that are joined to the slope, it is necessary to make special cuts. Horizontal elements cut and bend.

If the window is recessed deep enough, the use of window strips is not required. For such structures, small scraps of wall panels are used. During the installation process, a corner is used.

Installation can be carried out using a special drip. Its edges must be trimmed and folded under the vertical elements. To increase the reliability of the ebb attachment, a sealant is used.

Installation of siding on windows is carried out in the following order:

  • first, a J-profile is attached along the perimeter of the structure;
  • then the installation of pre-prepared elements of the back panels is carried out;
  • at the final stage, an angular profile is installed.

During installation, you must follow the same rules as for the general installation of siding panels. Each connection should be made with a 5 mm gap.

Attention! When performing work in autumn or winter, the gaps should be increased to 10-12 mm.

Arched windows

Such designs look great, but their finishing is fraught with some difficulties. Installation of siding on arched windows is complicated by the presence of a curved part in the upper part of the structure.

For finishing, the J-profile is usually chosen, which is quite flexible. However, its cost is significantly higher than that of a conventional one. For this reason, its standard counterpart is often chosen. To do this, in a regular profile, several cutouts must be made, which are made on the mounting part. Then it is bent to give the required radius of curvature.

Attention! In some cases, the incisions are made with front side products. With careful execution of the operation, such a solution will become an effective design technique.

As alternative option you can replace an arch opening with a polygonal opening. The design of such a window is carried out using the same technology. However, the profile cut will be large.

Ease of bending regular J-profile will depend on the material from which it is made. In the case of metal, it will give way much harder than plastic. To create an arc of the desired radius of curvature, choose vinyl siding. To facilitate bending, it should be warmed up well. However, this should not be overused - plastic can easily melt.

conclusions

The overall impression of the facade of the house depends on how well the windows are finished. That is why such work should be treated with the utmost care. The installation technology is determined by the shape of the window, as well as the degree of its recession in the wall. Such work will be easy even for a novice builder.

If you follow the suggested tips, finishing the window with siding will not be difficult, and the result will be pleasing to the eye.

Before cladding, it is better to take care of proper preparation opening. It should be thoroughly cleaned. For protection indoor spaces from the cold you need to create thermal insulation layer... It is made from expanded polystyrene plates.

At correct execution siding window cladding decorative elements will not deform under the influence of temperature extremes and weather conditions. The process of finishing a window with siding can be found in the video:

The use of siding as finishing material for the facade of a private house is common due to its many positive qualities. Ease of installation allows you to make slopes on siding windows without the involvement of specialists.

What is siding

Siding is rather a way installation rather than the name of the material.

The shape and texture of the siding imitates the traditional wooden board small width. At the heart of modern material is polyvinyl chloride, so the products are inherent in all positive traits PVC. The siding has a matte surface that is resistant to direct sunlight.

The material is produced in wide range textures and colors

The range of colors is so diverse that it allows you to choose a solution for any home. The ability to laminate the surface of vinyl boards makes them indistinguishable from natural wood... At the same time, it is possible to decorate windows with siding with your own hands.

Positive qualities of siding

Modern vinyl siding is a panel that is overlapped to provide natural ventilation facade, while protecting it from impact environment... When finishing facades, metal and vinyl slats can be used, while the latter have a lower dead weight and have a minimum load on the wall.

Therefore, the installation of siding around windows is carried out precisely with the help of vinyl panels which have the following positive qualities:

  • the material of the panels is frost-resistant - it tolerates well low temperatures and their differences;
  • moisture resistance of the material reliably protects the facade from moisture penetration. Therefore, siding outside windows is a practical choice;
  • dirt and dust can be easily washed off from the surface of the material using ordinary soap solution;
  • the material is wear-resistant and durable - it does not lose its performance throughout its entire service life;
  • the surface of the siding has sufficient decorativeness and reliability of the outer coating, therefore it does not need painting;
  • PVC does not rot and is not afraid of corrosion;
  • this material is easy to process and install. Dust and debris are not generated during work;
  • due to their low weight, the panels do not exert significant stress on the structure to which they are mounted.

Window decoration with metal siding has been going on for decades. It is not susceptible to corrosion due to the presence of a special polymer coating... Diversity color solutions allows you to choose the material for any facades.

Metal siding is stronger than PVC panels, but more expensive

Metal siding is non-flammable, does not melt or spread fire in a fire... The weight of such panels is much higher than PVC. The cost is also higher, but installing metal siding around the window is more profitable because metal will last much longer than its PVC counterpart.

The basement of the building is finished basement siding, which has increased strength characteristics.

Installation Requirements

There are several requirements that must be met when installing siding around a window.

  • the fittings must be produced by the same manufacturer as the material itself, then the color match will be achieved and the installation process will be facilitated;
  • to avoid the appearance of gaps between the panels when fixing them, it is recommended to make cuts at 45 degrees on the sides of the panels;
  • to avoid the appearance of cracks, it is necessary to make high-quality measurements of the window opening;
    fasteners must have a galvanized surface, they must enter the panel at an angle of 90 degrees;
  • when fixing PVC panels, it is necessary to take into account their possible expansion and contraction during temperature changes, therefore, it is necessary to leave a gap between the panels of 1.5 cm.

Subsystem

The duration of operation and the quality of finishing window openings depends on the quality of the components.

Finishing window openings with siding involves the device of a metal or timber frame... The wooden frame will come out cheaper, and the metal frame will be more reliable and durable.

Metal profile subsystem

To make slopes from siding on a metal frame, you need to purchase the following materials:

UD profile - to calculate required amount, you need to add the perimeter of the window to the perimeter of the wall. For example, if the wall is 4 x 4 meters and the window on it is 1.5 x 1 m, then 4 + 4 + 4 + 4 = 16 lm. profile will go to the wall and 1.5 + 1.5 + 1 + 1 = 5 lm. will go to the window.
CD-profile (rack). When calculating its amount, the surface length must be divided by 0.6, since this element is installed every 60 cm, but this indicator also depends on the type of insulation.
The CD connector is available for building heights over 3 meters. The number of such elements depends on the number of docking points.
ES bracket. It is used to attach a CD profile. With the help of the U-shaped bracket, you can build a structure, focusing on the building level.
With the help of hardware, the UD profiles are fastened. They are chosen based on the material of the wall: self-tapping screws are used for aerated concrete and brick, and dowel screws are used for wood.
For fastening metal elements to each other, "flea" hardware is used.

The structure of the frame is made on the basis of the previously made markings.

At this stage, work is performed on the waterproofing of the facade. The method of fastening the frame elements is shown in the photo below.

Method of fastening frame elements

When constructing a metal frame for siding, a UD profile is fixed on the wall along its perimeter and around window and door openings.

UD-profile is fixed around the opening

Using the UD profile, the guide strip is mounted, and the siding is fastened to metal frame takes place using a CD-profile, the pitch of which depends on the width insulation material.

Siding panels are fixed to the frame using a CD-profile

The UD profile makes the structure rigid and fixes the CD profile. Attach it to outside wall it is possible with the help of the crocodile clip, which exposes the frame based on the readings of the building level.

Wood subsystem

Features of the device of a wooden frame when installing slopes for siding windows include the following nuances that you need to know about:

Standing profiles from a bar are calculated based on a step of 50 - 60 cm. Their height should be equal to the height of the structure, since their length is difficult to increase.
Hardware is purchased with a step of 40 cm per one hardware.
If the moisture content of the wood exceeds 12%, then it is dried naturally under a press in order to avoid the effect of the "twisting" of the beams.

To increase the service life of wood, it is processed with various protective compounds..

Subsystem installation

To decorate the opening with siding on wooden crate no need for horizontal guides. Vertical guides should be installed in increments based on the width of the insulation material.

The step between the guides depends on the type of insulation

The starting strip is attached to the uneven bars.

Setting up the starting strip

Near the window openings, the beams are fixed in a horizontal position to ensure rigidity. The starting profile and other components, as well as the near-window strip, will be attached to the bars.

A horizontal bar is fixed along the upper edge of the window opening

Preparation

Step-by-step instructions will tell you how to make slopes on windows with siding with your own hands.

Siding slopes

Per-window installation of siding panels can have various features depending on the depth of the window. The thickness of the wall is created by the lathing, insulation and cladding. As a result, the window can be located in a depth of 5 to 19 cm.

Positioning the window flush with the wall

This method is used when the window is flush with the wall. In this case, the window opening is trimmed using an L-shaped apron.

Siding installation scheme around windows

First, the window opening is treated with a sealant from below, then a strip is nailed onto the dowels. The rest of the strips are fixed in the same way, and the upper one is sealed with an aluminum profile.

Overlap

Siding will hide the gaps.

At the corner

The device is similar to the above-described method, only there is a need to trim the top and side profiles at the bottom at 45 degrees, not forgetting about the size of the thermal gap, which must be covered.

Window openings with slopes

When finishing the facade plastic siding you can arrange slopes from the same material.

Along the contour of the window opening, sheathed with window siding, a J-profile is installed into which the sheathing is inserted.

Increasingly, when carrying out repair and construction works facade cladding with siding panels is used. This material very convenient: it is quite simple to install and has an acceptable cost. During the work, difficulties may arise in the design of door and window openings. In most cases, they are also sheathed with siding panels.

Siding

Siding is a popular material for exterior decoration building facades. It was first used in America in the middle of the 19th century. To date, many of its modifications are known. Various materials, which are part of the panels, make it possible to achieve its high strength, endurance, resistance to sharp drops temperatures.

There are several types of siding panels, depending on the composition used for manufacturing:

  • Wood. Its main part is processed wood.
  • Woody. It is made of pressed and glued together wood fibers.
  • Vinyl. One of the most popular types of material. Made from polyvinyl chloride. This allows it to achieve maximum endurance and durability.
  • Metal. Its main component is sheet steel. It is most often used for facing facades of industrial buildings;
  • Cement. For its manufacture, cement and cellulose fiber are used. Its distinctive feature is its inability to burn. However, many difficulties arise during installation. This is due to the high weight of the material and its properties.

Siding properties

Siding is the most commonly used material for exterior decoration of building facades. This is due to its main qualities:

  • acceptable price;
  • easy installation technology;
  • long service life;
  • resistance to external damage;
  • resistance to moisture;
  • resistance to temperature extremes;
  • resistance to dirt and dust;
  • big variety colors and material modifications.

Nuances of work

Before you start cladding a window with siding panels with your own hands, you need to study the main nuances of the work.

Installation technology depends on the type window construction... It can be done with or without slopes.

If the window opening is made without slopes and has a lowered recess level, you must use a special siding strip. For cladding windows with slopes, conventional siding panels are used.

Preparatory work

How to properly clad windows with siding panels? To do this, you must first make accurate calculations the amount of material and basic measurements.

To do this, measure each side of the window. To the results obtained, it is necessary to add 6 cm for the stock. It is necessary for the corners trimming procedure.

In order for the measurements to be made most accurately, it is necessary to fix the crate around the window. Materials are cut with an additional 5 mm allowance.

Surface preparation

Before starting work, you need to carefully prepare work surface... It should be cleaned of the remnants of the old crate. Remove accumulated dust, dirt, paint and oil stains.

Note! There should be no cracks or crevices on the surface of the walls. They need to be repaired with cement mortar or polyurethane foam.

The work surface must be flat. It should be sanded and all protruding parts removed.

To prevent the spread of pathogenic bacteria and microorganisms, the surface is treated with a special antiseptic solution.

Required tools

To carry out the procedure for sheathing windows with siding panels, you will need the following tools:

  • hammer;
  • building level. It is necessary to control the evenness of the work performed;
  • square;
  • tools for marking (tape measure, cord, chalk);
  • ordinary hacksaw;
  • hacksaw for metal;
  • self-tapping screws;
  • screws;
  • screwdriver.

Stages of work

Before sheathe the window with siding yourself, you must first study the main stages of the work:

  1. Surface preparation.
  2. Window insulation.
  3. Waterproofing.
  4. Installing the launch pad.
  5. Window cladding with siding.
  6. Finishing finish.

Finishing features

Window cladding with siding is carried out according to two main technologies. Their choice depends on the type of window construction:

  • in-depth window profile having slopes;
  • a window with a low level of recess without slopes.

Sheathing of a window opening without slopes

Work should begin with the window insulation procedure. To do this, you can use roll insulation... It is installed around the perimeter of the window opening. The insulation should be glued to the window surface with adhesive mastic. You can also use dowels to secure it.

If the depth of the window opening allows, complete thermal insulation of the openings can be carried out. It consists of several layers:

  • Insulation material.
  • Air bag. Its thickness should be up to 5 cm.
  • Siding panels.

Waterproofing

After finishing thermal insulation works it is necessary to proceed with the waterproofing procedure. To do this, you need to install a special protective apron. It will protect the window from rain and snow.

To work, you will need the following tools:

  1. Foil. Galvanized iron can also be used.
  2. Silicone sealant.
  3. Dowels or nails.
  4. Aluminum tape.
  5. Perforator.
  6. Hammer.

Waterproofing a window opening is carried out in several stages:

  1. The installation of the apron should be started from the underside of the window. For this, a layer of silicone sealant must be applied.
  2. Then the installation and fastening of the material is carried out.
  3. After completing the installation in the lower part of the window, you must go to the lining of the right and left sides of the window opening. For this, the surface is also treated with a layer of mastic, then a sheet of material is installed and fixed.
  4. Last of all, the upper part of the opening is sheathed.
  5. After completing the installation of the apron, it is necessary to reinforce the upper part. For this purpose, it is glued with aluminum tape.

Plating options

Siding a window without slopes is carried out in the following ways:

  • sheathing with siding boards;
  • overlapping method of work;
  • way "on the corner".

The installation process for each of them should be considered separately.

Window cladding with siding boards

Stages of work:

  1. The installation process should begin with the installation of the central corner profile. It can be plastic or metal. In some cases, a J-rail can be used.
  2. Preparing the slats. Corner cuts should be made on the top rail. This is necessary to ensure the flow of water.
  3. The siding board is fixed to the central corner profile... To make joints on the bottom and top boards, it is necessary to cut corners at 45 °.
  4. Securing the boards with a joining profile.
  5. Installation of waste water drain on the bottom board.
  6. Installation of plugs on the side profiles.

Overlapping work

The cladding is carried out using J siding strips. They should be selected and cut to fit the window profile.

  1. Installation and fixing of the upper profile. Installation of a drainage hole for sewage. To do this, make an incision on the profile and bend it.
  2. Installation of side profiles. They must be connected to the folded top profile.
  3. It is worth remembering that there should be about 5 mm of empty space between the side and top profiles.
  4. Installation of the lower profile. It is also necessary to maintain an empty space between it and the side profiles of approximately 3 mm.
  5. Installation of siding strips.

Cornering method

  1. Installation of the upper anchorage profile. Its ends must be cut at an angle of 45 °.
  2. Installation of side profiles. They are trimmed at the bottom. A gap of 3-5 mm is set between the profiles.
  3. The bottom profile is installed without gaps.
  4. Installation of siding panels.

The process of cladding windows with slopes

Feature of this type the window is its in-depth location. Here can accumulate wastewater... To eliminate this, it is necessary to mount the ebb structure into the lower profile. The drain is cut to the required length. A border must be installed along the edges to prevent water from penetrating into the profile. To do this, the structure should be bent at the edge.

Note! It is worth remembering that the drainage should have a small protrusion from the wall. The best option is the installation of the device with a projection from 5 to 10 cm, depending on the size of the window.

The drain is attached to the surface of the window using foam and fixed with screwdrivers. The structure should be located at a slight angle. This will facilitate the flow of water.

To prevent skewing of the structure, it is necessary to install a load on the drainage for the period of drying of the polyurethane foam.

After installing the ebb, you can go directly to the finishing procedure. To do this, it is necessary to install finishing strips around the perimeter of the window. If it is not possible to secure them (for example, when carrying out work on metal profiles using body kits), then you can attach the corners mounted from the starting profile to the openings and fix the finishing strips on them.

Installation and securing of the upper slope. To do this, you can take a profile or a thin siding panel. An overlap of 5 cm must be made on the side wall.

Installation of side slopes. They should be brought behind the top profile. For joining the profiles, the slopes should be cut at an angle of 45 °. The lower end of the side slope can be docked with the drainage or installed below its level.

After completion of the work, the joints should be treated with a layer of sealant.

Siding window decoration is an excellent solution for obtaining an aesthetic window opening. Subject to the specified work recommendations, the siding profile will last for several decades.

Schemes

When the entire house is already covered with siding, the windows should not stand out. They also need to be beautifully sheathed so that the look is complete and complete.

Types of siding for windows

There are two types of siding for window framing: vinyl and metal.

Of the two, it is vinyl that is popular.
And the reason for this is a number of factors:

  1. Less weight
  2. Affordable price
  3. Does not allow moisture to pass through
  4. Easy to clean
  5. Long lasting when used correctly.
  6. Aesthetic and neat.

Whereas metal siding boasts a long service life.

Considering that it is installed on the outside of the wall, it is deliberately covered with a layer of plastic.

On plastic, however, it is easy to create different kinds reliefs. Including repeating the shape of the wood.

Tools that can come in handy for window framing

  1. Screwdriver and screw attachments.
  2. Metal scissors.
  3. Vinyl siding knife. Basically, it doesn't cut. They are given a seiding line and then the outer piece is broken off.
  4. Perforator.
  5. Tape measure, rulers and angular ruler.
  6. Laser or water level.
  7. Chalk for marking.

It is better to purchase all profiles and fasteners together with the rest of the seiding.

Because then you can not guess with the color. If the windows stand out a little, it's not so bad. But it can be seen.

We create a drawing, and mark the following points on it:

Installation features

1. Self-tapping screws must be made of stainless steel or galvanized.

2. Self-tapping screws must be screwed in only at right angles.

3. When screwing in the self-tapping screw, the cap does not need to be sunk into the material. Since this is an external design, it should play a little. Otherwise, it will come off under the influence of the wind.

4. If you plan to install an ebb, it must cover all the screws with its side part.

5. Slopes from 20 cm are formed with a j-profile, tiles and outer corners at the edge of the recess.

6. In Europe, windows are sunk to a depth of 20 cm. For these, a special window strip is used, the edge of which is hidden by the finishing profile.

7. If the window is flush with the wall, it is decorated with siding, platband or j-profile.

8. The j-profile is also used in the design of the arch. Often in plastic version- for smooth bending.

Preparing slopes for a window

If there are cracks or holes, plaster them. If this is not done, the finish will then disappear.

You also need to cover them with a primer. deep penetration so that they do not absorb moisture from the air.

Before installing the crate, it is necessary to calculate where the rail will be. It can be positioned vertically or horizontally.

Depending on how the panels and profiles will be located on the slope.

1. Measure the bottom of the frame

2. To retreat on the clypeus the distance equal to its width. Measure the distance from it equal to the bottom of the frame. And also one more segment equal to the width of the clypeus.

3. Cut off the corners of 45 degrees on both sides, and cut off the front side.

4. The side panels go through the same procedure.

5. The top bar remains intact.

9. Platbands and j-profile can be alternated.

1. The lower part of the frame is measured.

2. The width of the slope under the window is measured.

3. The vinyl material is cut to the measurements obtained.

4. It is removed from the iron low tide a little on the sides so that it is leveled to the width of the slope.

5. The segments on both sides of the low tide are bent.

6. Liquid nails are poured onto the frame where the tide will be.

7. The ebb is installed by screwing it to the vertical walls through the bends.

8. Do the same with the upper part.

10. The side and outer slope panels are installed in the j-profile.

11. The outer side of the slopes is hidden in a corner.

You can also sheathe the slope horizontally.

The upper and lower parts - along the low tide slope and the upper part of the slope.
