Slopes of interior doors. How to finish the slopes of the front door: different options Finish the slopes at the front door

How to decorate the slopes of the front door? This question is asked by both those who bought fresh concrete walls and those who got an apartment with a "Soviet" renovation. We found 11 ways. Alas, there are no ideal ones among them - there are minuses everywhere.

1. Drywall

One of the most popular and time-consuming ways to decorate a doorway. GKL needs not only to be installed, but also to be putty, and then painted (preferably with water-based acrylic paint) or pasted over with wallpaper. But in the end, the surface of the slopes will be beautiful and even.

The disadvantages of this option are the fragility of the coating (the wallpaper will peel off and tear, the painted surface will quickly get dirty).

2. Plaster

Plastering slopes requires a certain skill. As in the case of drywall, the opening after the rough finish must be filled, painted or pasted over with wallpaper (or choose another finish option).

The disadvantages are the same - the coating will be short-lived, it is difficult to care for it. The disadvantages of plaster are also that the work with it is "dirty" and takes a lot of time.

3. Decorative plaster

Variety of point number 2. "Decorativka" is applied to a previously plastered surface. If the decorative plaster is textured, then the rough layer does not need to be displayed perfectly even. You can choose plaster with colored stone chips - it is very durable.

Of the minuses - the high cost of materials, laborious and "dirty" work.

4. MDF panels

More simple and quick way finishing slopes. In addition, the work does not require a lot of materials and tools.

Disadvantage - MDF panels can only be mounted on narrow slopes... V otherwise there will be seams between the panels.

5. Laminate

A variation of point No. 4. But - the laminate is suitable for openings of any depth (the seams between the panels will be neat and almost invisible).

Laminate slopes are inexpensive, but they will look the same.

6. Tree

Suitable for those who have the interior of the hallway - in the appropriate style.

Wood is an environmentally friendly, not very expensive material, it is not difficult to fix it. but finished surface needs processing special formulations(for example, varnish), which will have to be updated periodically.

7. Chipboard panels

Inexpensive, but also not modern way of finishing slopes. It is more often used for thick walls.

Chipboard panels are easy to clean, but short-lived (they are afraid of moisture, easily scratched).

8. Dobors

This option is especially good if there are several doors in the hallway (interior and exterior). In this case, all boxes and slopes can be finished with the same material.

Dobors are relatively easy to install. But the material itself is more expensive than chipboard, laminate and other analogues.

9.PVC panels

Such slopes look very "simple". But the material is inexpensive, durable, not afraid of moisture, easy to clean. In addition, it is easy to work with it - assembling the panels does not require much skill.

10. Artificial or natural stone

This method of finishing slopes has already gone out of fashion. And it was good for the durability and high wear resistance of the material, ease of installation. Of the minuses, the process of "applying" the stone is lengthy. Another disadvantage is that adjacent walls can only be painted or covered with decorative plaster. Other finishes (wallpapering, MDF installation or other panels) will require the involvement of virtuoso repairmen.

11. Tile or mosaic

Tile slopes are very durable, easy to clean, are not afraid of moisture, do not scratch. But sometimes they look a little strange - the tiles on vertical surfaces we traditionally appear in bathrooms, toilets and kitchens. Another disadvantage is the complexity and duration of the installation of such slopes.

Having installed and admired the front door, it becomes clear that the work is not over yet. The next step will be finishing the slopes, which fulfill aesthetic and practical functions. For their arrangement, you can use different materials stick to different styles.

External slopes of the entrance door

Having installed the door, it is necessary to hermetically fill the joints between door frame and an opening in the wall. The easiest way is to use polyurethane foam. After it dries, the protruding excess is removed and the tightness is checked.

Having closed the door, a lighted lighter is carried along the perimeter of the opening - in places where the flame is stirring, it is necessary to re-foaming.

Advice. Surely excluding blowing will allow sealing the seams with adhesive cement mortar... You cannot replace it with putty or plaster.

After the solution or polyurethane foam has set, you can fix door platbands... They hide the opening from the eyes, protect door locks and pins from burglary. we'll cover it in a separate review. Cash must match the front door in design and color. Fasteners are made with special brackets.

In some cases, the front door is made with a certain depression in the wall - a full-fledged external slope is formed. It is customary to seal it up with cement, having previously cleaned the surface from dust and dirt.

The finish can be absolutely any, but it must be combined with the door. If the latter goes into a heated staircase, you can use laminate or plastic. But the most optimal and cost-effective option is to paint the surfaces brought out to zero.

Internal slopes of the entrance door

Starting to finish the slopes of the entrance door inside the room, it is necessary to choose the most suitable material... The options offered by the market are huge:

  • Tree
  • Plastic
  • Plastering
  • Drywall

Wood is the classic and most popular material. It can harmoniously fit into any interior, adding elegance to it. But such surfaces under the influence of aggressive factors can quickly lose their appearance, requiring restoration work.

The cheapest and easiest way is to apply a layer of plaster. In the future, it can be painted in any of the colors you like. Over time, when the opportunity and desire arises, the slopes are easily covered with another, more interesting material.

In spite of wide application plastic, door slopes they are rarely closed. This method is used in cases where it is installed.

You can fix serious irregularities near the door with plasterboard. This method eliminates the need to apply multiple layers of dry mix.

Decorating slopes with wood or plastic

To complete the work you will need:

  • MDF or laminate, PVC panels
  • Polyurethane foam
  • Rule and bubble level
  • Wooden slats
  • Fasteners
  • Tools

Advice. The most optimal solution is to use an MDF board. But it does not always fit into a thin opening in width. An alternative would be regular laminate.

The doorway is checked again for sealing the seams and the areas where air leaks are observed foaming. Then the excess foam is cut off, the surface is cleaned and covered with primers.

The next question to be solved is the shape of the slopes. Wood panels can be positioned perpendicular to the door or at a specific angle. The shape is determined by the rails mounted on both sides. Making the slopes with the letter "L", the rail near the door should be wider, near the corner - thinner. Everyone selects the proportions individually.

Having fastened the supporting rails to the wall with dowel nails, the upper slope is first mounted, then the side ones. The panels can be placed on special glue or screwed, covering the holes with decorative caps. The corners are neatly hidden by decorative plastic corners.

Exactly the same principle is used for finishing slopes. PVC panels... The only difference is that they are planted exclusively on adhesives so that the surface remains aesthetically pleasing.

Plastering of slopes

Plastering is the strongest and most durable finish. For work you will need:

  • Rule and bubble level
  • Sandpaper
  • Sand, cement
  • Mixes for putty
  • Primer
  • Beacons
  • Master OK
  • Masking tape

Objects and surfaces that can get dirty are covered with foil or pasted over with masking tape. First of all, guide beacons are exposed. They are planted on a thick solution of cement or gypsum, sticking to the wall. If there are large potholes in the wall, you will have to knead a little more mortar.

Advice. The wall is pre-coated with primers in order to prevent fungus from appearing on it and to improve adhesion to the solution.

By diluting a solution of sand and cement in a ratio of 4 to 1, all potholes are thrown. The first layer of plaster is applied. When the wall gets cold, a reinforcing mesh is applied and the work continues. Having sketched the mixture, the slope is aligned with the lighthouses by the rule.

When all surfaces are plastered and dry, a layer is applied finishing putty... After it hardens, the surface is brought under "zero" with fine sandpaper, pasted over with wallpaper or painted.

When the repair and installation of the front door is completed, doorway it often has an unsightly appearance around it, which can spoil the feeling of joy after the completion of the renovation. In addition, unfinished edges allow drafts to penetrate and lower the room temperature. Therefore, it is very important to correctly make and arrange door slopes in order to prevent the influence of all these negative factors.

Peculiarities

When the doors are already installed in the apartment, many people think that protection from external factors such as noise and cold is provided. But it is not so. It is necessary to produce additional finishing in order to complete the renovation and give the doorway a harmonious appearance... WITH outside entrance doors are always trimmed with platbands or a special solution during installation, but the internal slopes of the master during installation door frame always left to the discretion of the owners of the house.

The finishing of the slopes is not included in the installation of the door. That is why concrete, brick or other materials without exterior decoration... To hide all this, it is necessary to correctly arrange the slopes. Not all companies that install doors provide additional services for the design of slopes. That is why this task is very often shifted onto the shoulders of the owner of the house, and he has to do this work on his own.

The purpose of the installation of this element is to give the door and doorway an elegant appearance, as well as to give completeness to its outlines.

In addition, door slopes are installed in order to hide all door fasteners from prying eyes and increase burglary protection. In addition, with their help they provide heat and sound insulation, as well as protection from flying from the street or from staircase dust and dirt.

Slopes are a very important and necessary element, who can do doorway more presentable and neat. They are beautiful design complementing any hallway. Slopes are made in accordance with the style of the front door, as well as in accordance with its colors and with the stylistic design of the hallway. That is why choosing the right slopes is a very important task.

Apart from the decorative function, the slopes also very effectively insulate the door frame and allow you to hide the joints between the frame and the wall. Slopes also hide polyurethane foam. Thus, this element also makes it possible to additionally play the role of thermal insulation. The polyurethane foam, located in plain sight in the room, absorbs moisture and loses its protective properties, and at the same time it looks very neat.

In this way, the door jamb is very important element, which is paid attention to during the renovation.

Kinds

There are three main systems of slopes for door structures, differing in the method of installation:

  • Applying cement to the wall and then plastering. This finishing system is considered the most reliable and quite cheap. But not everyone can cope with such a task, it is very time consuming and painstaking process... In order to create very smooth and high-quality surfaces, it is necessary to have the skills to prepare the right plaster mortar and experience in its uniform application and distribution.

  • Slope design system using panels and special glue. In this case, an adhesive mixture is made and ready-made finishing panels... This principle is quite costly. In another way, it is called wet.

This process is very time-consuming, as each layer of adhesive must dry well before you apply the next layer. But even with the long duration of such work, they are quite simple and even a beginner in the installation business can cope with them.

Fastening the finish to the already finished frame. This is a very simple and quick way to achieve perfectly shaped and very neat door slopes. So you can not only hide a concrete wall, bricks and foam from prying eyes, but also close all wires and other communication networks.

In addition, you can install additional lighting in the door frame and play nicely with the light in this area of the room. This option is suitable for both panel apartments and for a private house.

The only drawback of this method is the low strength and susceptibility of finishing materials, even on a steel frame, to mechanical stress. In this way, this option will be more susceptible to hacking. As a rule, it is used for interior decoration of wooden door structures.

Materials (edit)

For the design of slopes, high-quality and sustainable finishing materials are very often used.

Dye

This is one of the most popular coatings, which allows you to design a door slope very brightly and interestingly. You can make it an interesting accent in your hallway. In addition, you can choose the paint and the color of the door. In this way, even a metal door can be designed. You can buy water-based paint or use the usual version. In addition, you can apply a beautiful textured pattern that will look very original and will decorate any hallway.

Wallpaper

This is an excellent solution for those who decided not only to change the door in the hallway, but also to completely renovate the corridor. It is quite simple to decorate the door slope with wallpaper, but this requires an even base. Very often, the same wallpaper is used on the walls as on the slopes. This gives the impression of a monolithic surface. Thus, you can visually expand the doorway and the hallway space as a whole.

Single sided sandwich panels

These panels are a sheet of polymer plastic, on which a layer of extruded polystyrene foam is glued. It has a fairly dense texture, which has excellent sound insulation properties and acts as great option for insulation. Thus, you will not need to additionally insulate the doors and take special measures for noise insulation.

Such panels are very lightweight and therefore adhere well to the door, even on special glue without additional fasteners. In addition, their design can be very diverse, there are even models for wood and products that imitate other materials and surfaces.

Plastic panels

This is a fairly easy-to-install option that differs interesting decor... Plastic panels are somewhat similar to the previous version, but at the same time they are less reliable and thinner. If the slopes are deep, then laying plastic is not recommended.... This is due to the fact that it can be easily deformed and damaged. Plastic panels will not give the same rigidity along the entire door slope. But their undoubted advantage is an interesting and varied design.

Among plastic options very popular vinyl panels... They are pretty reliable. In addition, if this element of the door structure is sheathed with vinyl, it will respond well to temperature changes and humidity levels, which is typical for areas near the front door. Therefore, they are often used for sheathing slopes.

MDF

It is a very durable material that is resistant to external influences... It perfectly withstands various influences and virtually no scratches and other point damage remain on its surface. Outwardly, this material is similar to wood panels, so it looks very elegant. In addition, MDF is very easy to install and can be installed on almost any door slope. Best of all, these models look at wooden products , but there are also models for metal doors.

Parquet board

This natural quality material perfect for decorating door slopes. Usually it is chosen for wooden doors or in color. flooring... It is important to choose the most accurate suitable tone, texture and relief. Thus, this composition will look very nice and harmonious. Manufacturers present great amount types of parquet boards that externally can match any wooden door, models under wenge are especially beautiful.

Laminate

Another option that is great for finishing slopes. It can imitate a door pattern, so it is perfect for models made from natural materials. They can repeat the pattern of any other materials, including the look of stone, marble and other finishes. In this way, it can be matched to almost any type of door leaf.

Since laminate is often used as a flooring, it is distinguished by its strength and endurance, so the slopes will last for a very long time.

But there are also a number of materials that are used to insulate the door frame. For this, foam, penoizol, metvata, and other materials are used. But in the case when the width of the slopes is small, it is rather difficult to make insulation, therefore sandwich panels are perfect. For finishing wide doorways often use frame slopes. When installing thin sheets, such as plastic panels, insulation is often used - polyurethane foam, sealant and other materials, acting as a heat barrier.

Which drywall should you use?

Any drywall is a layer of gypsum between two strong cardboard sheets. This is one of the easiest materials to install. They allow you to level surfaces without putty and primer. Even a beginner in this business can handle the installation of drywall sheets.

In addition, such a design of the slopes allows you to get rid of excess debris that could arise when using a different finishing method. At the same time, the slopes are ideally smooth and even, which gives room for imagination and their further design.

For the design of the slopes at the front door, it is important to take not standard models, and materials that are distinguished by quality and water resistance. It withstands well the rise in air humidity inherent in the hallway. To ensure greater safety, it is better to give preference to sheets with the addition of fiberglass, since such a material is non-combustible and provides insulation of the entrance structure.

How to seal for metal sheet?

For finishing the slopes at the metal entrance door, the frame method is most often used. To create the base, you must use metal profiles. Finishing is also acceptable wooden blocks. It is important that the canvas adheres tightly to the surface.

To strengthen the metal door frame, lintels must be installed on the supporting part of the structure. It is especially important to install them at the corners of the structure. At this stage, you can carry out the laying of cables and other wires. After that, it is necessary to fix the selected canvas with screws or nails.

It is also very popular to seal the slopes of metal doors with a cement-sand slope. But for this it is necessary to level all the slopes with a primer and place an emphasis on the subsequent installation of finishing materials. For metal structureit is important to take into account the thickness of the mortar layer and the thickness of the finishing material so that such a finish is not too massive and does not disturb the overall picture of the door structure.

For embedding slopes around metal door drywall is perfect. This is due to its small thickness and versatility. But this material requires additional insulation.

Finish after installation

After installing the door, it is important to correctly arrange the slopes in order to improve the appearance of the entrance to the house as a whole. This can be easily done with your own hands, the main thing is to correctly align the door slopes from the inside. A very interesting finishing option after installing the doors is the use of add-ons. You can also use the following options.

Natural or artificial stone

It's pretty smart and beautiful option, which performs a decorative role. It is quite expensive, especially when it comes to natural stone. This method has many advantages, since the material is considered to be very durable and of high quality. Natural stone is a completely environmentally friendly option that is resistant to external mechanical stress.

But cheaper fake diamond is not of the same quality. He has a large number of disadvantages, since it is made on a gypsum base. It is easily damaged and crumpled. In addition, it can easily crumble or deform from exposure to water or high humidity.

Tile

This method of finishing after installing the door is rather complicated. Not all tile options can be used for this. In particular, it is best to avoid using glazed models, as they will look very strange and cheap on door slopes. It is best to give preference to clinker tiles.

This option can imitate brickwork or a natural stone... Therefore, it can be selected for any software stylistic design hallway. It is best to select not heavily soiled and not glossy tiles... This finishing option is good because these surfaces are quite easy to care for. In addition, manufacturers present a wide variety of finishing models.

PVC panels

Very simple finishing material which is cheap, beautiful, but short-lived. Some low-quality models can be easily pierced, even by leaning on them with an elbow or hitting them hard with a foot.

Decorative plaster

This is a very interesting, but rather laborious installation option. The application of decorative plaster is a whole art, so it is better to entrust this process to professionals. But in the end, the slopes and the space near the door can be noticeably transformed.

All finishing methods are used both individually and in combination with each other. So you can not only decorate beautifully door structure and slopes, but also to make the door more reliable, insulate and protect it from external factors and from burglary.

Installation and design options

There are two main options for installing slopes:

  • frameless;
  • wireframe.

Before proceeding to the finishing, you must make sure that the structure is installed correctly, that the exact parallel between the opposite borders of the door frame is observed and that all seams are tight. First of all, it is necessary to check the structure for gaps. To do this, you need to light a match or a candle and hold it along the entire doorway... Where the flame begins to deviate or even go out, it is necessary to additionally insulate the slopes and add a sealant.

When all the insulation work has been completed, you need to cut off the excess dried layer of polyurethane foam and additionally close the door frame with masking tape. Thereafter it is important to get rid of old plaster and loose concrete and brick wall elements.

After that, you need to move on to plastering. First you need to completely clear the wall from construction dust and align it. Then you need to use a primer deep penetration... It will make the base of the frame more durable and even.

Very important with special attention refer to the concrete lintel on the door. For its processing, it is better to use the so-called concrete contact.

If the surface does not absorb moisture well, then you must also use a special primer. After the primer is dry, the profiles will need to be installed. But before that, it is better to wait about 8 hours until it dries completely. Profiles are necessary in order to level the plaster layers on all slopes.

To do this, you need a laser or the most simple level mark on the side of the door about 3-4 cm the position of the vertical line. There it is necessary to drill several holes with a diameter of 6 mm in increments of 30 cm. Dowels are inserted into the holes, and then the level of their caps is leveled with twine. After installing all these items it is necessary to check their correctness and level vertical. By the same principle, it is necessary to install the profile on top and on the opposite side of the doorway.

After the end of the installation process, you must cement mix... It is best to use M150 grade sand and cement for this. All these finishing materials must be sieved through a fine mesh sieve. To create a high-quality solution, it is necessary to mix sand with cement in a ratio of 3: 1. Add a little to the dry mixture. clean water and at the same time stir the resulting solution special nozzle drills.

When the mixture is smooth and thick like a dough, the mortar can be used to finish the slopes. With the help of a spatula, it must be sharply and quickly thrown onto the wall and ironed, closing the profiles. Thus, you can make a perfectly flat surface without unnecessary deformations.

The panel version without a frame is simpler. In this case, laminate, drywall, sandwich panels, MDF, chipboard and other options are often used. Moreover, you absolutely do not have to smooth the surface of the slopes. Finishing is carried out using glue mounting. It is important that the surface is straight. The surface should be free of defects and irregularities.

Even if the door frame itself has some defects, then they can be corrected using such a design of the slopes. In this case, it is necessary to additionally plaster the door exactly in the places missing for a flat surface. If the original surface is flat and smooth, then the finish frame method will be very simple. Initially, you need to apply a primer to the base where the panels will be fixed.

Then you need to measure all the slopes and select the right amount of finishing materials. On the panels, you need to make all the notes and put points. Then you need to connect all the lines and check them using a tape measure and a special square. This must be done very carefully. A sheet of such a panel must be cut to the required amount individual elements and prepare them for installation.

As for the laminate or parquet, they can be installed both vertically, one for each slope in width, and horizontally, using several short panels. Then it is necessary to apply glue to the finishing material using the nesting method with a step of about 15 cm in the shape of a square. All glue spots must be slightly dried so that a film begins to form on their surface. Only then can the elements of the slope be applied, but it is important to be very precise, since it will be possible to align the finishing panels only by a couple of centimeters, no more.

Then, starting from the top and moving down, you need to gently press the panels against the wall, but do not press hard on them, so as not to push them. This is especially true for plastic panels.

Design and decor

The design of door slopes is finishing touch after finishing them. As a rule, models from MDF and decorative materials do not require additional decoration, since these materials look quite elegant and without additions. This also applies to options with laminate, parquet board and plastic panels... To complete finishing works in this case, platbands are installed and the joints and all joints are masked with the help of special furniture stickers or mastic, which is selected in exact accordance with the color of the finishing materials.

But if the doorway is only plastered, then other methods of decoration must be used for it. So, for this they use paint, decorative plaster or wallpaper. But before that, the slope is covered with two layers of putty to hide the irregularities and get a smooth layer. When finishing with paint, a primer is first applied and then a layer water-based paint and bright accent on layer acrylic paint... So you can design the slope in an interesting way and make it very bright, playing in contrast with the door. This decor looks especially interesting in black and white.

Another finishing option is wallpapering. But it is better to match them in the color of the walls in the hallway, so either you need to choose the most similar covering, or trim both the slopes and all the walls with one material. If you have chosen wallpaper only for decorating slopes, then it is better to pay attention to options without a pattern, since they can look a little strange near the door. This is due to the fact that most of the doors have a classic simple design.

Wallpaper must completely cover the entire width of the door jamb, taking into account the overlap behind the corner line, so that the excess can be cut off at any time. Wallpaper can be textured, embossed and even have an interesting pearlescent tint. They will look very nice and graceful. But try to use soft wallpaper for the decor of door slopes, which can also be washed and cleaned. This is due to the fact that dust and dirt from the street very often accumulates near the front door.

When changing doors in an apartment, a person inevitably faces the question: "How to trim door slopes?" Even if the installation of the doors is carried out by an invited specialist, in this matter he is not your assistant.
The master will only install the box according to the level, filling in the seams polyurethane foam, will hang door leaf, insert the fittings - that's all. What to do next, you will think for yourself.
We will tell you about all the possible options for finishing the slopes, and how to do it yourself. There are several types of materials that can be used for this purpose.

Most often, this method of leveling the slope is resorted to when the walls of the premises are also sheathed with plasterboard. Depending on the width of the slope and the degree of its unevenness, finishing can be done in two ways.
So:

  • If assembly seams small and the slope is slightly damaged, parts cut from the gypsum board sheet can be glued with gypsum glue... To do this, the surface on which the gluing will be carried out must be well cleaned and covered with a layer of primer.

  • Naturally, you need to cut out the details of the slope as accurately as possible, taking into account the slope angle. Installation begins with the installation of the side panels.
Dry adhesive mixture dilute with water as directed by package instructions. Apply the finished glue in a continuous layer to the part of the slope and press it against the prepared surface.
  • When the panels are installed, they must be fixed with masking tape and allowed to dry with glue. Then all the seams need to be putty, and then cleaned with sandpaper (zero).
After applying another layer of primer, the slope is ready for subsequent finishing.

  • Finishing door slopes in the second way is the installation of plasterboard panels on an aluminum profile frame. It is more complex and is used when frame cladding walls of the room, which significantly increases the depth of the slope.
  • This is the prerogative of specialists working with drywall - few people can do it on their own without having certain skills.

To protect the corners of the slopes from accidental damage in the future, decorative plastic corners... This applies not only to plasterboard slopes, but also plaster and plastic.

Plaster slopes

Considering that in most living quarters the walls are plastered, it is quite logical that the door slopes will be finished with their own hands in the same way. Special knowledge is not required here, only some tools are needed, without which an even corner will not work.

Tools and materials

To mix the solution, in addition to the container, you will need a drill with a mixer attachment. To secure the escarpment straight lines, required: two-meter building level and the rule.
You also need two spatulas: one with a width slightly exceeding the width of the slope, the second smaller. It is convenient to use a flat brush to prime surfaces.

So:

  • If you do not plan to use plastic corners for subsequent finishing, protect outer corners slope can be done in another way. For this purpose, a perforated metal corner is also used, which, before finishing the door slopes, is attached to the base surface of the slope with liquid nails or polyurethane foam.
  • To strengthen the plane of the slope, or an opening without a door, it is used plaster mesh from fiberglass. And there is a version of the corner, combined with the grid into a single element - it is very convenient to use it.

  • To prepare the solution, you will need to purchase a dry gypsum plaster diluted with water to the desired consistency. To save the solution, you may need polystyrene foam.
  • If there are deep potholes in the slope, or its thickness exceeds two centimeters, pieces of foam are placed in the deepest places, and a layer of plaster is applied on top.
  • In order not to spoil the door frame, its surface is preliminarily pasted over with masking tape. Only then can you start priming and plastering the slope.

The last step in the roughing of the slope will be the treatment of the plastered surface with fine emery paper to achieve smoothness, and another layer of primer. To see how the plastering of door slopes is done - videos, of which there are a lot on the Internet, will help you a lot.

Plastic slopes

The easiest way to finish the slope is made of plastic. The price of this material is the lowest in comparison with the rest.
The only "but" - plastic slopes will not look harmonious everywhere. The most expedient is the finishing of the slopes of windows and doors with plastic, if a window, door, or wall cladding of the room is made from it.
The ideal option for such a finish is usually kitchens, loggias, and bathrooms.
So:

  • The most important thing when working with plastic is to achieve the most even and accurate cut. For this it is better to use electric jigsaw, not a knife.
Naturally, measurements must be made accurately, then it is much easier to fit the parts to each other.
Plastic walls and slopes
  • For window slopes, white sandwich panels are most often used, and any PVC panel is suitable for finishing the doorway. If this is a balcony door, the trim of the slopes of which is made of colored plastic, then the slopes of the window next to it are decorated in the same way.
In the picture above illustrative example such a finish.
  • If the doorway during dismantling old door suffered severely, then before finishing the door slopes with plastic, it is better to first remove the plaster slope with a margin of 1 cm, it will not need to be sanded under the plastic, and the solution can be used not gypsum, but cement.
  • If there is no significant damage to the opening, the potholes can simply be filled with polyurethane foam. The same is done when MDF panels are used for decoration.
  • To mount the PVC panel, a starting plastic profile is fixed to the door frame with self-tapping screws. The side parts are installed first, and then the horizontal part.
Any universal glue, provided for working with this material, is applied to the plastic.
  • The panel is inserted into the groove of the profile and pressed tightly to the surface. Then the glued part must be additionally fixed until the glue is completely dry.
You can do this with masking tape, or just prop it up with something.

When the panels are installed, the joints between them must be filled with sealant and then closed. decorative corners... This finishes the slopes on balcony door finished.

Wooden slopes

Considering that interior doors are made of wood, it is quite logical that the slopes can be made of the same material. Such a doorway design will look harmonious in any interior.

So:

  • For finishing the slope, you can, of course, use solid wood panels, but veneered or laminated MDF is most often used. Ordinary laminate flooring is also suitable.
The main thing is that its color is ideally matched to the color of the door.
  • Installation technology wood panels similar to plastic, only instead of a guide profile, there will be strips that are attached to base surface dowels. Further, the panels are screwed to the slats with self-tapping screws, not forgetting to apply glue to the back side.
The joints between the panels are also sealed and closed with a corner.

  • There is another option: when buying doors, you can immediately buy additional strips in color. Sometimes they are included.
They are made of chipboard, covered with PVC film, imitating the texture of wood.
  • Addons can also be used if the width of the doorway is larger than the width of the frame. Since these strips are attached directly to the box, add-ons are mounted in the groove located on the back side even before the door is installed.

Sometimes door slopes are trimmed with decorative stone.... This option is more suitable for entrance doors.
Indoors, such decoration is rare - mainly in design projects, but in the interiors of mansions. The floor or fireplace can be laid out of the same stone; appropriate accessories for the decoration of the room can be used.
In this case, the slopes from decorative stone look original and to the point.

Home is a place where everything should be perfect. Thoughtful finishing of the slopes of interior doors is that trifle that can both favorably emphasize the dignity of the interior, and irrevocably spoil even the most thoughtful design of the room.

Slopes for interior doors

The finishing is carried out different sizes and shapes, however, it is important to remember that the door and the finish of the jambs must be matched. Perfect option when the material from which the door leaf and jambs are made is similar to the surface of the slopes. For example, they often use a self-adhesive type of paper that repeats the texture and color of the door.

What are the options for slopes: material, installation

The slope is the part of the correct opening that is not occupied by the door frame. In fact, this is an untreated surface that does not represent a serious flaw, but does not have an aesthetic appearance. To make the door group more complete and harmonious, fastening or installation is performed various materials on the slopes.

Depending on the conditions of the intended operation, use:

  • plaster;
  • overhead panels;
  • self-adhesive film;
  • tree.

Each of the methods has a number of its disadvantages and advantages, which will be mentioned later. At the same time, they also take into account how often the surface will succumb to mechanical stress - this will help to choose the right material.

The installation of the slopes itself occurs in two ways:

  1. Kleev. For it, glue or other special solutions are used. In this case, the surface for the material must be ideal.
  2. Wireframe. A simple method from the point of view of leveling the walls. Installation begins with the construction of a metal or timber frame on which the selected material is attached.

The fast method is the frame method, since the glue method implies the previous processing of the wall. In addition, this option is easy to dismantle and provides additional heat and sound insulation.

The glue method is demanding both to the quality and evenness of the pier, and to the skill of the master. Glue and other solutions can stain the door leaf. For this reason, the film is an essential element during the work process.

The classic design option implies a simple plastered opening, sometimes painted to match the color of the interior. Provided the work is done correctly, this option will have long term operation, and also will not present surprises in the form of mold or mildew.

For interior doors to acquire such slopes, use the following algorithm:

  1. Training. The door must be protected against possible damage. Thick film is suitable for these purposes.
  2. Level the opening as much as possible. Remove protrusions and protruding bricks, it is recommended to smooth out sharp chips or parts.
  3. Prime. For this stage, a special deep penetration primer with an anti-fungal effect is used. This will further prevent mold growth.
  4. Lock the guides. For these purposes, metal profiles are used. Depending on the desired shape of the opening, they can be fixed either strictly parallel to each other (straight slope) or with a slight difference (sloping slope).
  5. Alignment. This will require special solutions. It is recommended to add an antifungal primer to them. The starting solution was applied with a spatula over the entire surface, leveling with the guides.
  6. Final alignment. After the starting leveling is completed, apply a primer and a finishing filler. In this case, all unevenness arising in the process are leveled.

After everything is ready, you can safely attach the material to the wall.

Using self-adhesive tape

The simplest and least costly finishing method is to use self-adhesive tape. This special view finishing, installing which you can not use adhesives. If there is no time for finishing, self-adhesive tape will do. In addition, the self-adhesive type of film is also purchased for financial reasons. It will allow you to save some money on finishing work.

At the expense of wide choice color palette and a picture, you can choose a self-adhesive version of the film suitable for the interior. The advantage of this material is its flexibility and ease of use.

While gluing, level the surface constantly so that no air bubbles or wrinkles remain on the self-adhesive foil. Otherwise, it will not be possible to install the self-adhesive material properly. In this case, the door itself will look unpresentable.

Cover plates for slopes

Plastering a partition is a self-sufficient way to decorate a doorway, as well as necessary stage before attaching materials to glue.

This method is widely used, since it requires only enough smooth walls... Speaking of the glue method, it is worth mentioning that the choice of material must be taken seriously.

So, for example, it is important to remember that the use of wallpaper, tiles or laminate flooring involves different adhesives. The surface must be level so that as much of the surface of the cover panels as possible adheres to it.

There are two ways for fastening: adhesive and frame.

Frame implies the creation of a frame from beams or metal profiles, on which the selected material is attached. This method has several advantages:

  • easy to install;
  • quickly dismantled;
  • it is possible to create additional sound and heat insulation;
  • fast in time;
  • the surface does not have to be perfectly flat.

A properly installed frame will strengthen the door structure and also help to hide wiring or pipes without installing them in the walls.

Before starting work, make sure you have everything you need. In particular, in order to preserve the aesthetic characteristics, the door leaf is covered with a protective envelope. More often it is a dense film.

The procedure itself is simple:

  1. Leveling the pier. Remove debris and interfering parts.
  2. The wireframe is created. Based on the required shape, the appropriate material is selected.
  3. Fastening. At this stage, to already finished structure fastened material - MDF, wood, plastic, laminate.

The glue method consists in applying the solution to the slab and fixing it to the required place.

In this case, the door is at risk and requires additional protection.

Wooden slopes

Whatever style the door is made in, wood will emphasize its beauty. To fix such material, an exclusively wireframe method is required.

The algorithm itself is similar to the installation of panels, but at the final stage, a primer is used not for walls, but for wood. This will protect the wood from mold and mildew. For reliability, the slopes are varnished.

The disadvantages of this material is its sensitivity to temperature extremes. Wood slopes are installed in rooms where there are no sudden jumps in degrees or humidity.

Alternative methods of decorating door slopes

How to make original slopes on interior doors is a rather popular question. However, more often only three are considered. classic material for registration, although in fact there are much more of them.

The option stands apart decorative bricks... Not every master has the necessary laying experience, however, if the surface is uneven and has objects protruding from the wall that cannot be removed, then, more than ever, the specifics of decorative bricks will come in handy: it easily changes the shape of the seamy side. Due to this, it is customized to suit any requirements.

The door can play favorably if matte tiles of natural tones are correctly selected for it. There is a point to remember: the door leaf should not be combined with glossy or bright tiles. This option will look out of place even in the brightest apartment.

For any chosen method, remember that the film is an indispensable element, since it is she who will protect the door from scratches and other defects.
